Went to the Ace Hardware on Santa Monica. I wasnt sure if I needed Spar Varnish or polyurethane. Becky was SO helpful, informative, and friendly. She helped me find exactly what I needed. Mike made us feel welcome and appreciated...almost like wed been friends for years. Great staff. Will definitely come back...again and again!!

Having always had good in-store experiences at Tashman I decided to try their screen division for 3 new screens and two re-screens with installation at a local rental property. It should have been a red flag when I had to call three times just to set up getting an estimate. I kept being told that someone would call me back but no one ever did. The second red flag should have been when I was told that they would charge $157 in advance just for the estimate and then apply it to the invoice if they got the job. This policy is a blatant effort to trap a prospective customer into whatever estimate they come up with and that’s what it did with me. Having just replaced screens at another property a year before I had a rough idea of what this job should cost, but at $488 Tashman’s estimate was at least 50% higher than their competition. Unless I wanted to walk away from $157, I was stuck. It took more than two weeks to make the three small new screens and, again, no one contacted me when they were ready. I had to call repeatedly and then finally call the installer directly to schedule installation because he repeatedly did not call me back in response to messages. At one point, Tashman sent me an invoice saying I had not paid the initial $157 for the estimate. This was untrue and I had to submit my credit card receipt to prove it. All the way around, a VERY bad experience and I will never do business with Tasman again. Any business that charges $157 for an estimate on such a small job is tacitly acknowledging that they are not competitive and will rip you off if they can. Lesson learned.

The human beings there, are very knowledgable and useful. theyve been in commercial enterprise a long term and it indicates. I had a person provide me an estimate on a window and he couldnt have been nicer. first-class old world sort of hardware keep, assist them. theyre arent too lots of them anymore.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!To be a small business during the pandemic you would think the customer service would be top notch. Unfortunately that is not the case. The manager at this location was incredibly rude to me and ignored me when I tried to ask for assistance. He then pointed to the back at one of his employees instead of acknowledging my existence. I will never step foot in this store again. If it doesn’t last through the pandemic you’ll know why.

Every time I call or come in person, I am immediately reminded of how much I regret the experience afterwards.Terrible attitudes from the staff... as if they don’t want the business. Thrilled with the service at Tashman. I had an antique art deco mirror that was an heirloom with one broken panel that was a small awkward size and fit back into the mirror. I have been trying for months to find someone to fix it but it is smaller than what can be cut with a machine, no luck online or at mirror shops. On the recommendation of another store, I went to Javier at Tashman and it was done the next day. Not only does it fit perfectly into the mirror, they matched the bevel edge. So happy with their work!

Tashman aint your average hardware store. They replaced my screens, installed glass shower doors for in my place & made me duplicate keys. They let me authorize my handyman to purchase supplies on my account when he needs something & they have incredible advice. From plumbing to glass they handle everything as though Theyre family & always make me feel welcome. Whats the difference between those new light bulbs & the ones I already have? What can I do to stop the cold air from coming in from under my door? How often should I change my a/c filter? Latex or oil based paint? The folks at Tashman have answers that help me navigate all these issues with confidence. Everyone there works hard & cares about the details. The place is obviously well managed. I truly appreciate having this resource nearby.

I have driven passed this place for years, I needed window screen for several projects. I have been completely satisfied with their work. They always meet their promise date.

Maybe I have low standards from years of going to larger stores, but I had a perfect experience today and will only shop here from now on. 4 employees were working and the store was busy, but we were offered help without having to seek them out. They were knowledgeable and friendly and it was clearly a place that really cares about its customers. Thanks for your help!

Tashman is wonderfully friendly, reliable, and very professional.... They follow through in full detail. I needed some windows replaced. I thought I’d start with 4 of the windows and see how it went. Well.....It was such a good experience that I replaced 5 more windows! Then a shower door which was done ASAP . It’s nice to know that I can count on a company such as Tashmans when I need quality work.

Said they could look at the windows of my RV and had me drive 30min to get to them just to tell me my rv wouldnt fit in the parking lot and they dont come out. Not to mention they didnt seem too concerned about at least sounding like they are concerned about customer service.

Love this family hardware store in Hollywood. So nice to have knowledgeable people that helpful. Plus, no lines or at least rarely.

If you live anywhere near this hardware store you are lucky. They have a great selection and can typically order anything that they dont have in stock. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There is a parking area in the back although it is tight and limited and sometimes easier to park either on Genesee or on Santa Monica when possible.

Incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff. Im always amazed that no matter what Im looking for, someone will say, Oh, you mean this? walk to an aisle, and then come back with exactly what I need. If youre looking for corporate, look elsewhere. This is like being at a hardware store in Mayberry. The staff makes you feel right at home, there to help with whatever problem youre having. Awesome! We needed a new Bar B Q Grill for our patio. I called and Anthony helped me on the phone. I found the customer service at Tashmans Ace Hardware to be above and beyond in a day when the big box stores dominate but you cant ever find anyone knowledgeable to help you. Anthony found just what I wanted, arranged assembly for a small additional fee and even called me to let me know it was ready. The location was a bit out of our way to go there, but the excellent customer service and individual attention was well worth it...and the price was great and totally competitive too!

This is the third time Ive used Tashman and the experience has always been stellar. From beginning to end they are easy to work with, I receive estimates for parts and labor and installation is always impeccable. Beyond that, they keep our orders on file so if we need parts or repairs, its an easy task. And we love working with a family business. Thank you Tashman!

I loved the service! Kenny came to our house, explained our options for replacing three shower enclosures. He was very nice and professional. We selected the enclosures we wanted after shopping around and making sure that Tashman was giving us a good price. The man that came to measure and then install was very nice and did a great job. If you need to replace your shower enclosures - Tashmans is the place to go.

Horrible Customer Service. They replaced all the Window Screens in my house 20 years ago and did a great job. Recently I tried to get them out to replace a Window Pane and to check the screens. Twice they were scheduled and Twice they did not show up or even call. I have been supporting them since the 1980s and last time I went in there they gave me the wrong part which did not fit and I told them exactly want I needed. I will never give them any of my business again especially with Koontz Hardware being 15 minute walk away. That is one place that does everything right the first time and if they cant do it they will tell you exactly where to get it done properly

Great business. Did a flawless job with windows in my home and in my garage.

I havent had any windows installed but I think they are a great alternative to Home Depot which I keep telling myself Ill never go back to. They are knowledgeable and Ive found them to be helpful. I used to shop at Laurel Hardware but its a restaurant now. I think their prices are very reasonable and I dont mind paying extra for customer service which you dont get at the big boxes.

Tashman installed an enormous one-piece tempered glass window in 2010 and Ive asked them back since to install two new crank-outs in my office and replace both of my big sliding screen doors in the kitchen and dining room. Top quality materials and craftsmanship, on-time performance and very pleasant folks in the bargain.

Man this place is awesome! Tucked away off of Santa Monica blvd is the best hardware store in the Beverly Hills/WeHo area. I went for my first time yesterday to pick up some pest killing sprays and ended up buying a Weber Grill for almost 30% off! On top of that there was a little misunderstanding with the total initially and they threw in a free $20 bag of Traeger wood pellets for the trouble. -There was no trouble at all!They definitely gained a loyal customer yesterday and you should definitely check this out before going to Koontz or all the way to Home Depot or Lowes.

Great place to do business! We manage apartment buildings and send our onsite managers to Tashmans to pick up supplies. Weve had doors and windows made there. The customer service is terrific. If there is a problem, which is rare, they get right on it. I highly recommend them.

What a wonderful store - like stepping back in time where courtesy was extended to all. I went there to discuss my insurance agency in the WEHO area and Kenny was very gracious in talking to me and I was not even there to buy anything. My husband is a GC and he knows and likes this store. I wonder if they decorate for Christmas and that takes you back in time too. I will have to check it out! But I will be back there before then, something always needs fixing at my house. If they do not have it in stock - you do not need it.

Albert Woodworth (sales manager) is a JOKE!!!!!! This guy will over promise and under deliver BIG TIME!!! He will promise you the world just to get your business. On top of the FACT that they where ridiculously expensive He took longer than promised just to fabricate and install 4 windows. Wasted my time and met him at the property to take the window measurements; I summited the payment for 50% of the total cost to begin the window fabrication. Once he had confirm that the measurements he had taken where in process and the order was ready to be summited, I payed the half to start. Nine (9) days after meeting him, taking measurements and taking my 50% payment; He tells me that he needs to send his tech out again to re measure. Wasted 9 days after collecting my payment because he couldnt be straight upfront and tell me that the first measurements he took where incorrect and instead of immediately correcting it. He collected my deposit and waited 9 days later to tell me basically he had messed up on the measurements. After that everything went down hill. STAY AWAY!!!! Will NEVER RECOMMEND or use for Future business again!

They were nice enough to break open a 10-pack of face masks for me during the wildfires last November. They sold me three, which I used in LA when the smoke was super bad, and gave to friends later that weekend in San Francisco.

Charging to much I will definitely not use them anymore

I am disappointed with the customer service that I received from Tashmans. I had a sliding mirror replaced about a year and a half ago. It wasnt placed properly and has been wiggling back and forth within the frame the entire time. No mention was made to me by the guy who took measurements prior to ordering the mirror, or by the guy installing the mirror that there would be need to have the frame replaced in addition to the mirror. The mirror just broke spontaneously, I spoke with Lucia over the phone. She wasnt very friendly, and told me that it broke because I did something to it and I the only reason why I didnt replace the frame at the time I replaced the mirror, was because I didnt want to spend any money. Well, now I have hundreds of dollars down the drain, and all I will not be using Tashmans in the future for any home repairs.

This is a first-rate, old-school family owned business manned by knowledgeable people. Deserves to be patronized!
