Not only were they able to fit me in on short notice but they fixed my car in hours and were very reasonably priced. I went on a long road trip immediately afterwards and no issues. My car is running perfectly.

This place is awesome and I highly recommend it. My brakes went out and I was told by another place, I would not get in until 8/13 and in a rude way. Gilliland was very nice and I did not have to wait. Very knowledgeable, and they took the time to explain what they did. They definitely have a new customer.

Had an appointment at 8 AM to replace muffler on my van . At 8:30 I was driving home. Great job, fast and very friendly. If that wasnt enough, I paid $25.00 less than quoted. By far the best place to go to get a vehicle worked on.

A longtime friend recommended Gilliland to me 5+ years ago & Ive been taking my car to them ever since. I have zero complaints. They are professional, friendly, flexible and most importantly, HONEST! On the few occasions that Ive had to leave my car with them during the day, theyve even given me a ride to work. I cannot recommend Gilliland enough.

My sister and I were traveling through Lafayette, Indiana, to our hometown in Michigan, when her car began overheating. We called AAA for a tow and while waiting for the tow truck, we called some repair shops so we could choose a repair shop, rather than simply relying on the tow driver. Gilliland Motors, Walt, was the first to say he would be able to look at the car that day. He performed a pressure test and said that there was a leak, the radiator should be replaced and it would be $420, for everything, but he could not be sure replacing the radiator would solve the overheating. We called several other shops, and found 2 that said $300. We then told Walt that we would be taking the car somewhere else, he was visibly upset. He charge 27.00 for the pressure test and when we stopped at the closest gas station, my sister checked under the hood, Walt did not bother to put the radiator cap on. It was sitting under the hood, by the grill.

GREAT COMPANY AND UNMATCHED CUSTOMER SERVICE! Was having difficulties installing a trailer hitch prior to a military move to Washington State. Walt was quick to give us a time to come in and even gave us referrals if we needed the work done sooner. Was very friendly, down to Earth, and customer focused. Wouldn’t second guess using his shop for any future needs.

The service in this place is outstanding. I am from out of town and had a small issue with black ice 😑No one else in Lafayette was even wanted to take a look at our car until four days or so later.Walt in the other hand, was super nice and helped us right away. He was not only understanding of our situation, he also did a great job. I recommend this place, ask for Walt he will make sure that you are happy with the service and safe driving your car.

Ive been coming here with various cars for about 8 years now and never had a bad experience. They were unable to fix a recent issue with my car but did everything they could to make it right. I ended up having to go to the dealership for this specific issue but Ill definitely be back to Gilliland next time. Good, trustworthy people who know their stuff.

My daughters car didnt start on Purdues campus late one night. She called Gilliland and they recommended a tow company. Gilliland evaluated her car and had it repaired the next day. Since that was on Friday, they assured me that they would be able to get her the car on Saturday if she couldnt make it to the shop by close on Friday. I also thought the cost was reasonable and the people I talked to on the phone were very professional and friendly.

A great place with quick turn around. Had the water pump on my truck go out and they turned it around same day and at a fair price. Really nice people!

My car got towed here in what ended up a happy accident. I spoke with Walt and he did everything could to get me going and was very pleasant to interact with so I would recommend anyone trying them out. I know I will for my future needs, though they were ultimately unable to help with what I needed currently (tires).

I stopped in because I needed to change my license plate, and I didnt have the correct tool to unscrew the bolts. Another shop I called told me that it would cost $10 for this service, and although I am certainly willing to pay for their time and labor, I thought that price was a bit high. Gilliland Motors told me that they would just change the license plate for free! It only took a minute, and I was willing to pay at least some money for the mans time, but he said not to worry -- it was no big deal. What a nice man! Its not often that I find an auto repair shop willing to do something for free. I will definitely go back if I ever need any work done on my car and would recommend that others try this shop out as well. They are obviously not trying to overcharge for services.

I seen a lot of negative reviews on here so I thought Id leave a comment. To be honest, I didnt look at the reviews until after I had them service my truck.I went there and asked the gentleman behind the counter if he could swap out my factory muffler for an aftermarket (magnaflow) exhaust. Once we discussed price I told him to proceed. I picked the truck up just a few hours later, and couldnt be happier. The welds looked great. Muffler was secured down well, and it sounds awesome now.I was treated with respect through the entire transaction. I received quality service in a timely manner.

I took my minivan in to have the shocks repaired. They told me it was my ball bearings and charged a around $1200 to replace them. Im not saying they didnt need replaced, maybe the did and maybe they didnt. But when I got my van back the same problem was still there and after a second inspection the said it was the shocks. In total I spent around 2 grand. This might have been mechanical error, or like I said they might both have needed replaced, but it seemed like I was either taken advantage of or their mechanic didnt know what he was doing.

Very helpful, very friendly, very honest. If the problem is something minor that they can fix in a few minutes they probably wont charge you for it; when I did need something significant fixed they were pretty cheap too.

I was frustrated with another car repair place in regards to my brakes grinding and a bad attitude from the mechanic there. When I called Gilliland Motors, they offered to let me drop it off a bit earlier than they typically open and drive me to campus so I would be to school on time. They gave me a reference for themselves, someone who worked in administration in my building as well. They quoted me a much lower price than the previous place quoted, and they did not want to know what this other mechanic had said or quoted me for. The previous mechanic told me my entire brake system needed replaced, here they said the front did need quite a bit of work, but not even as much as the first place quoted. And knowing I was a student the mechanic here said he did some shopping around for parts that would be appropriate and safe for my car and and fit better in my limited budget. Everyone was very friendly and professional.

Brought in truck because other shops said motor mounts needed replaced, they thought, werent sure, truck vibrates when put into gear so they were the cheapest to fix, told them if mounts are good please find problem,anyway 327 bucks later i pick up truck, start truck put truck in gear an wow, still shaking,i asked them if it was fixed an they said not sure till i drove it, what they cant go out start it an put it in gear?anyway i got charged for something that made no difference whatsoever to my original problem,THANKS GUYS

I came in with a Lexus LX450 that had differential fluid and grease leaking out of the front axial. They told me that they couldnt do the work due to a specialty tool that they did not have. Instead charged me $55 to tighten four bolts. Then I went to the Toyota dealer who charged $30 to take apart the car to find the problem, give me an itemized quote, put the car back in drive able condition, and gave me a printout of the parts that need to be replaced so that I could go get quotes elsewhere. Save money and time by AVOIDING GILLILAND MOTORS! The mechanic also told me that he thought Lexus was owned by Nisan...

This guy tried to charge my dad for a full muffler when it was obvious he welded the cars muffler instead of replacing the it. After I confronted him about it, he broke out into anger and told us her didnt want our business.Save yourself the hassle.
