I took my 11 year old Toshiba laptop to Sac Tech Exchange in West Sacramento for various computer issues a couple of weeks ago.Power shuts off, slow startup (10 to 15 minutes), intermittent distortion when playing music since upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Within a couple of days (October 14, 2021), its like a brand new computer! They replaced my HDD with SSD, backed up my files, gave me a new, free anti-virus (Avast) and got rid of malware on my computer that was causing the power to shut off. Wow! Im so grateful! My laptop boots up in about a minute now and I can listen to my music without any distortion! I didnt have to buy a brand new laptop after all! If you are having computer issues, I highly recommend Sacramento Tech Exchange! Thank you Jordan and Scott!

I picked up a used hard drive here to repair a friends laptop. The prices and service were top-notch. Lindsay was excellent. I definitely recommend them.

Small shop, but well equipped to handle a lot of tech needs! While admittedly not everythings covered here they hit a lot of major stuff such as PC parts, repair, and building, and their audio selection is of particular note. Staffs very friendly and easy to get acquainted with; the more you give them, the better they can help you get exactly what you need.

This place is a hidden Gem for all of your tech needs. I came in looking for some computer monitors and I ended up leaving with 4 new monitors for a great deal. They also have a awesome selection of music equipment, gaming computers, studio recording stuff and bunch of other cool things. Ill definitely be back.

Great place to get a pc tune up and some upgrades. Prices are very reasonable and the people are super nice. Very busy little shop so it may take a couple days to get your machine back or it could be the next day. Either way its worth it. They also sell refurbished equipment . Thanks S.T.E. you guys rock!

My dad pointed me in the direction of the Tech Exchange to look for a decent computer as a Christmas gift for my nephew. I started checking them out and realized that they do repairs in addition to selling refurbished devices. I have an old laptop that needed a new hard drive.I gathered the old computer and my daughters slow, heavy, huge 17 laptop to see what they could do. They gave me a great deal on two new SSDs and an OS. Really fair price. I dropped the computers off at about 4pm on Friday and they called on Monday. When I went to pick them up I noticed a Chromebook for sale that my niece would like. Instead of just selling it to me and shooing me out the door they took the time to plug it in and make sure it was good to go. They sent me on my way with my two computers, the old hard drives, and the Chromebook.When I got home I powered everything up and theyre working well. When my dad was telling me about them he said They seem to be good people who do good, fair work. I definitely agree.

These guys are incredible. Very helpful if you know nothing about computers, they can get anything you are looking for and their turn around time is very fast.

We have purchased many items at this store and the one they were in before and they are consistantly fair priced, friendly and informative. I would trust them with anything electronic. Lindsey is a magician always finding us just what we needed. I dont know how she does it. Also, their team is very knowledgeable about all our repairs we had questions about. This shop is hidden but is an amazing little place. They have plenty of sound and recording equipment available. Not to mention all the laptop and computer tech. They also do computer diagnostics and repair. Great prices and deals guaranteed. I will be visiting much more often.

Awesome store, very helpful staff, they have helped me tremendously with issues with my own equipment, and has helped me resolve it. We have almost everything you can think of for your DJ equipment. Also great on prices for a lot of great brands. If they dont have it they can be for you other places, or they can even order it for you.

They are okay if you want to unload your tech stuff without having to go and deal with FB Marketplace/Craigslist etc. I will say, they arent entirely honesty with you (at least from our experience, maybe they are with return clients) - we were told they could only sell our used laptop for about 200/250 so the price they gave us was a bit low (150), but we have since seen it listed for 400 on their website.

Cool store with lots of different technology being sold for a good price. I bought a vocal microphone for recording music for a very good price and the staff helped me plug in the mic to a speaker to ensure that it worked. Id go back and buy more gear there forsure.

Helpful, friendly, and fun! I came in to sell a couple of monitors I didnt need anymore and didnt want to mess around with Craigslist - got a fair deal and a used, but pristine, replacement. Would absolutely recommend giving them a call before buying online, as their stuff is all in good shape and competitively priced.

Went to the Sacramento Tech Exchange for the first time when I needed a laptop for one of my employees. What an awesome selection of laptops, screens, and accessories. Everyone there was so friendly and attentive, and they know their stuff inside an out. This is my new go-to for everything tech related!

This place is a rip off. Outdated computers at a very high cost. You can find newer and better PC at a better price if you do a little research on what you are looking for and your needs. They say a PC is upgradable, but only upgradable with more outdated parts. And the apple computers they sell with Logic Pro X is pirated. That software is not transferable and can only be updated from the iCloud account that it was downloaded from.

Small family owned business with low overhead and a business model that benefits everybody.While not the place to go for the most bleeding edge technology you can find real bargains here from people trading in or selling still usable tech. I got a fair appraisal and when things went wrong with my purchase they answered right away with a brand new charger rather than going the easy route and giving me a used replacement. Though their profit margin on our transaction was already small they did the honorable thing and accepted a coupon I found online.Loving my new SurfacePro4. Keep up the good work.

This place is awesome. The couple that own it are super sweet and friendly. They opened up on a Saturday so my gf and I could come check out a new laptop for her son. I’m not the brightest crayon in the box but I know the difference between junk and tech. The same laptop we left with was posted at bestbuy for more than twice what we paid. Needless to say the kid is loving the new laptop and moms is happy she didn’t have to shell out 1k for a decent laptop. Anyone talking junk about this business is just that..... junk. Always helpful and fairy priced. My hard drive died. They were able to recover data and sell me a laptop that meets my needs at a low price. If I have problems, mostly of my own making, I pop in and they fix. And they recycle electronics. They will buy usable equipment.

Went in looking for a good used laptop to purchase for a friend. They had a nice selection of both Windows and Apple laptops. Chose a Toshiba Windows 10 Intel i3, and had the RAM upgraded to 8-GB and a 256 GB SSD installed. Upgraded and out the door, including tax, for under $500. Very satisfied with the purchase, and the whole staff was wonderful, patiently answering all of my questions, and matching the list of uses my friend would be needing to the specs on the laptop. They have a selection on the shelves beyond just computers - audio and digital music equipment, speakers, mics, and more. Check this place out!!!

People here made me a super computer call Manta. It can play any game in the world in epic quality (even the new games like call of duty infinite warfare). Although the pricing was unforgivable, it worth ever cent for its purpose. Great deal and the guy who speaks English in English accent is real cool. The manager has been great help. People in the store is honest for their work which is very rare to encounter in anywhere in the world. Long live the good capitalism and its people.

I bought a used PC here in 2014. It was a refurbished and older model, but the folks here gave me an incredibly fair price on it. I expected it to run for 6 months to a year if I was lucky. However, it is still running without any issues, and it is four years later.

I called and asked if they had a laptop charger cord and they were confident they did without even asking my model number. When I got to the store I got the last one, but they had already ordered more. I was out of town and had left my cord at home and these guys were a lifesaver. $25 for a cord when walmart only had universal for nearly $70! If you could wait for one you order on the internet you might get it cheaper but when you need one now check here.

STE is definitely my go-to place for tech sales & service. Ive been there several times since I discovered them last year. The guys are very personable. Its a little bit of a drive to West Sac, since I live up near the Sutter County line. But Ive learned I can count on them.
