I was nervous and intimidated to order my first cigar but luckily they’re amazing and nice here. The guy was very nice, helpful, and informative without being condescending. I told him I wanted to spend $10-15 and he suggested an $8 dollar cigar and I enjoyed it.

Thank you for helping me commemorate the first anniversary of my father’s passing with two of his favorite things: a beer in a frosty mug with a good cigar. I had a difficult time finding the words when I was in the Westerville Governors Lounge to get that special cigar but you seemed to know what I was going through - thanks for your blessing. Your kindness overwhelmed me.

Been a customer for years. the last time i went in the walk in humidor had a comination lock that only an employee could use. before i could enter,i had to advise what i wanted to buy before he would let me enter. i didnt feel welcomed.

A superb cigar lounge. The person with whom I spoke was very knowledgeable about cigars. He listened to my preferences and recommended a cigar that was spot on with my pallette. My wife and I will absolutely be back. Great indoor area and very nice patio. Fantastic cigar experience. 👍👍👍

My second time to this lounge and I will definitely be back again. I dont even live on the same side of town but I drive out of my way to come to this place. Its Incredibly comfortable, they have outdoor and indoor areas, and its in a great location right in Uptown Westerville. You can park grab a coffee and walk right over to the lounge. The staff, in particular Joseph, is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Its the best service Ive received out of any cigar shop Ive been to in the area. They have a very nice humidor with a great selection. Maybe not the largest but all very nice high quality stuff. You get walked in one person at a time and have any of your questions answered. Just Top notch service and accommodations. Would highly recommend!!!

Was visiting family out in Ohio, and decided I would try a cigar. I have smoked pipe tobacco here and there on special occasions and wanted to finally try it out. The store was awesome and the gentleman with the large beard was very helpful. I had a Padron 1926 and it was a awesome recommendation. Really enjoyed this place and will definitely stop by again when Im in the area.

At first the house through me off but the Governors quickly turned me around with their awesome set up, to the cigars, and their amazing customer service. Please, if you like cigars check this place out! It’s worth it and I’ll be back!

Nice cigar lounge in an old house on College in Westerville. Well stocked humidor, cigars all in good shape, good variety. No touchy. Proprietor must let you in and assemble your purchase. Friendly tho. You can hang out inside and smoke. Didnt, but looked comfortable. Unsure about beverages. Will return.

Quiet and relaxing spot to grab a cigar. You can relax and smoke one there, or restock your humidor. The gentleman who assisted me was very knowledgeable of the brand I like. He knew right where to find the exact cigar I was after. I did not inquire but they appeared to have personal humidors for rent. I will look into this next time for sure, as I am not a big fan of maintaining my own humidor.

This place is becoming my home away from home. The atmosphere is very comfortable, the staff and customers are welcoming and conversational. They offer a great selection and dont overstock, which means your sticks are fresh everytime. I purchased an empty pack of Ashton half Coronas (warehouse defect) and without batting an eye the staff replenished my order. Wonderful place and service. The gentleman help with find cigars and went into detail on each. Each cigar had its own taste and what it would work best with. I ended up buying two cigars and the gentleman told me I can always come back and smoke with the regulars. Outstanding service

A very welcoming and mature environment. The employees were patient and very knowledgeable.Cigar prices were reasonable and kept organized in the walk in humidor.I didnt have time to enjoy the porch or leather chairs for a smoke, but it seems like a nice and relaxing place to enjoy your cigar

I would recommend this shop for any level of cigar appreciation! My husband came to the shop looking for a celebratory cigar for after our wedding this past weekend and he brought my brother and my father with him to pick something out. He said they were extremely knowledgeable and knew that they were beginners and would not want something fancy. The ones they ended up purchasing were $12 and all 3 enjoyed them greatly! I know he will be back very soon to try more!

Amazing selection of cigars. Theres a smoking lounge and another sitting area in the main room. Theres a walk-in humidor the size of a large bedroom with an amazing cigar selection. They have isolated a group of fantastic cigars and offered a variety of Maduro, robusto, Churchill, Toro, Corojo, etc... in each variety. This is a great place to grab a very good stick! 👍

A unique place to enjoy a good cigar. Located in Westerville, Ohio. Many special events like chili cookouts, live music outside in warm weather, and TVs to watch the game! A lot of nice people go there.

Ownership is committed to providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Two floors, with several rooms, allow for enjoying your cigar while finishing up some work, or just for pure pleasure. Large screen displays, located in each room, provide for sports or movie entertainment; and free, secure, WiFi is available. Lastly, the patrons are friendly and always willing to engage in some lighthearted conversation. I, routinely, recommend this lounge to friends, family and those visiting the Columbus area.

Love this place. Great selection, great vibe, you can sit inside or out on the porch. Its also close to lots of restaurants in Westerville, I usually just walk in after having dinner and pick up some cigars for later that evening.

Love the ambiance and there are SO many options for cigars even for a newbie like myself. All guys there when i went last week, however, they were all nice and spoke to me! Surely going back plus it was a really cool place to study b/c they have individual rooms with tvs and roku in them!

I went in for the first time on a weekday afternoon after a meeting in the area. I love that this is in an old house. The selection seems perfect to me. They had my favorite brand which is hard to find in Columbus. It was quiet, they had sugary drinks for sale for people like me who get nicotine sick. I got some work done on my laptop and enjoyed a very nice cigar and environment. Well done Governors Smoke Shop. Wish I lived closer.

Apparently it’s up for sale or under new ownership. The shelves are bare and the selection is minimal. I’ll have to find a new place in Columbus to enjoy a cigarFollow up: this place has turned out to be a nice little cigar and hang out. It’s cleaned up since the previous owner, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and it’s an enjoyable place to relax and have a cigar at when I’m in the Columbus area. Great job guys!👍

The classical cigar lounges of the past have dwindled down over the years. The past three decades I would say. And it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find a GREAT lounge, not just an okay one. One with exceptional staff that are vastly knowledgeable and polite, while helping you buy your favorite cigar, pipe tobacco, or your dream cutter and/or lighter. Governors is my absolute favorite lounge currently, and for very good reason. In addition to everything aforementioned, there is only one downside to it, only one. Parking. But lets be frank, thats a Westerville problem, not specifically a Governors problem. So, with all that said, I want to recommend Governors to anyone looking for a decent lounge to relax, work, or catch up with friends in.

Walked in to see a gentleman reading a magazine, reclining in a lounge chair and smoking a cigar. Turns out he was the owner, and an extremely cool dude. Highly recommend them for their service

One visit, on a Saturday evening during football season,,,,,cliquish, unfriendly terrible customer service and pricey, but good selection,,,,,the customer service was trying to rush the transaction so he could get back to his little group. So unimpressed compared to the other North Columbus Stores.

Quiet friendly private club feel, but open to the public. Cozy, strangers bonded through the cigar.

I used to bring a group of clients in once or twice a month. Ive been in recently and the atmosphere has changed. A gentleman helped with our selections and treated us like we were idiots. Talked down to myself and my friend about what we liked to smoke and tried to make us feel like idiots because we didnt know as much about cigars as he would have liked apparently. We wont be returning.

I travel all over the United States and this by far is the best shop Ive found. Great selection and awesome people. Whenever I am in Columbus I make it a point to stop by and smoke a few.

Governors is conviently located which is nice. I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere but truth be told sometimes it is a bit too relaxed. When I go to a place to buy and smoke cigars or pipes I expect decent air handlers. Their air isnt anywhere near as bad as Tinderbox at Easton, but still. I would probably go a bit more often if the air handlers cleared a bigger volume more quickly. Their selection I would say is ok to average, but their prices are fair for what they stock. It would be nice if they had a few less different brands and a few more lines in each brand giving smokers a different variety. They have coffee, water, and pop which is also nice and not all places have that. If you want a less formal place to go and smoke a cigar with friends its not bad, but be forewarned, if you bring your own and dont buy one there, their cutting fee is pretty high, at least in my mind.

Great feel, good selection and attentive staff

The selection is great and they are by far the freshest cigars I have found anywhere in Columbus.

There are two owners there, 1st guy is a really nice sweet guy, 2nd owner however is a guy called Curtis. In my opinion Curtis is a bigot. Im a Jewish man and always make sure to wear a Kippa wherever I go. I asked Curtis if it might be worth it from a financial standpoint to start smoking a pipe instead of cigars. Curtis basically told me to stop being such a cheap jew and enjoy life. Besides Curtis being an antisemitic bigot, in the past Ive always had a great experience there.

I remember going to the place years ago back when they were on the main strip and felt they were a little off putting. Years later I return to give another chance at their new location and they ate absolutely wonderful and will continue to get business for years to come
