Good food for the price, great outdoor seating via picnic tables on the grass. Separate food and ice cream windows. Two port a potty stations. They are serving Richardsons Ice cream. They have hard (almost $5 for small) and soft ice cream available, banana splits (almost $11) and sundaes. Fried haddock $8.xx. to go packages include napkins, salt and pepper, ask for anything extra. Very thin piece of fish but fresh oil for the fry and okay sandwich. Add your own seasinings.
What a wonderful day to come. Last day of the season with lots of folks here, yet our order was still ready quickly and on point.A delicious raspberry lime Ricky and ice cream soda satisfied our thirst. Burgers and fries were delicious for our picnic table lunch.
Great ice cream from a longtime seasonal restaurant... Highly recommend if you really like ice cream... Relaxing shaded (Spring/Summer) outdoor tables on nicely manicured grassy area...
Best soft serve ice cream spot around, had to get that out there. Theres many different flavors of hard or soft ice cream at this gem. A little brook in the back to enjoy your frozen treat to. The service is extremely fast, while being a bit pricy its worth it 100%.
The high demand for this place speaks for itself. Full parking lot and cars parked down the side streets. The food and ice cream is good and the atmosphere is good for everyone. You see school friends, couples young and old, and families all enjoying their time together.
We got burgers, lobster rolls, chicken fingers, and fries, along with ice creams for desserts. The food was great! The service was just as great! The woman at the order window was patient, understanding, and witty. I got a large ice cream, which is two scoops, and I ordered toppings. It came in a plastic cup... and they put the toppings between the two scoops! What a great place. Definitely making it a point to go back!
Amazing ice cream—so many flavors of both hard ice cream and soft serve. We love this place. Only reason for 4 stars is that the hours aren’t so great. We rarely make it to Bubbling Brook because the hours are so limited.
Ill make it clear now. We go there for the ice cream and atmosphere and havent ordered food from the restaurant. As far as the ice cream side of the restaurant; I wound give it five stars. Ive had their fried clams years ago (10 + years). I cant speak for the restaurant side of the operation. Hence why I cant give it five stars. The king and the short of it. If you go there for an ice cream treat. You wont be disappointed. If youd like me sample their menu. Like this review👍! Lets see if we can get the fifth star 🌟!
Crystal clear water. nice rocky underbrush. was a little underwhelmed on the bubbles - i like them nice and aerated. bring bugspray unless you like bugs - i know i do!
Iconic New England ice-cream stand. Love coffee oreo the best.
The lines were long and you could only get certain items at one window if you wanted soft serve you had to get in one line if you wanted hard serve you had to get in another. The process was hard on families and couples who wanted different kinds of ice cream 🍨🍦
Every visit has been consistently excellent! Ice cream, frappe and seafood for the family have always been good. Staff are friendly.
Good ice cream, but overpriced! Ordered two regular sundaes, thinking the Junior sundae was kiddie size. The regular was massive and had way too much hot fudge. Two Reg sundaes with hot fudge and one with walnuts cost $19.41!!
Ice cream was yummy and we even got a nice place to sit outside in the shade
Their ice cream slaps, and they have a large variety of flavors. ive never had food food from there, but it looks and smells so good. definitely reccomend.
Great food, ice cream and a nice place to sit outside. The lady who took our food and then ice cream orders was so sweet and patient with the kids! I highly recommend!
Delicious ice cream. Staff friendly and courteous. Very popular place that can run out of parking spaces fast. Unfortunately, no real alternate parking available.
Westwood treasure! Tasty food in very pleasant setting. Ice cream,, soft serve naturally are terrific. Pies areFantastic..
The model all summer custard/ice cream/soda/snack stands should be based on. Go for it!
Top notch food as usual. Its been a while and the prices are higher but fair considering the times. Great cheery attitudes from all and there was a courteous young man attending to the picnic table area who I noted was a good person to have on the team. Great to visit again and will be back
Ordered a Seafood platter. Food was good. Very good. BUT it was pure and simple highway robbery. Unbelievable greed. $35 for lots of fries, lots. Barely a handful of clams. Scallops cut in half so it looked like there were many. Two shrimps, yes, only 2 and a piece if fish that looked like the Gortons square portions. $35 - really?
Ice cream is very good (would not go for the food)
Our eagerness to begin the ice cream eating bonanza brought on an ambitious order at our first stop. As we dipped into a massive banana boat topped with hot fudge, marshmallow, strawberry sauce, and butterscotch, we quickly discovered the problem with such an approach—it was difficult to taste any of the individual components of this concoction. The vanilla and chocolate ice creams did not stand up as distinct in the mix, but the toppings were good. The individual cup of house specialty Moose Tracks (vanilla with fudge and peanut butter cups) proved to be a better flavor alternative.
Great setting. Soft and hard serve ice cream. Everyone seems to know this place from many towns away (Natick, Franklin)
Amazing ice cream. Try the no sugar added coffee flavor - to die for!
Good ice cream. An experience and a tradition. Expensive.
Since 1897 ... delicious dogs, exquisite rings, succulent seafood, ice cream and more.
Great place for ice cream. The lines for the windows are spaced out which is great!
My have to go place for ice cream on a hot summer day ~~~
Great food. Great outdoor space with picnic benches.
Wonderful icecream! But one of our friends couldnt have any cuz there was no sugar free icecream.
My happy place! Amazing staff that puts their everything into every shift they work! Fast and friendly!
Just got a hamburger, which was plain, but actually tasted like fresh beef
Iconic New England spot for ice cream
Great BLT, haddock sandwich, and soft serve!
Great ice cream! Very friendly staff
Great fast take outs, seafood is fantastic, also the ice cream
Best ice cream in the area.
Almost excellent, but their lime rickies not as good as used to be!!
Good food and great ice cream!
Cant vouch for their food, but their ice cream is delicious. The prices arent too bad and you get your moneys worth. Workers are always very friendly and the stream in the back is nice for kids.
Best local Ice cream spot! Major kudos for how they have adapted to COVID and improved their car routing to ensure both their staff and patrons stay safe. Plus the food and ice cream is always worth the wait in line and never a disappointment
We like a lot eating out. Yesterday we came to this excellent restaurant which we didn’t know before. We spent a beautiful experience there with exceptional meal and an efficient crew and a distinguished cook. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will surely return very soon. We warmly recommend.
This place is amazing. Kids can run around near the Brooke while parent can watch them from a comfy bench. They have amazing ice cream from the window and has great food inside. The people who work there are so nice and it feels like home.
Love this place....
Excellent ice cream!
Great ice cream
Great ice cream place.Has food as well.Bubbling Brook is at least 50-60 years old.Has well set up parking, outside eating benches and tables.Everything set up for safe distancing and all kinds of sanitizing stations.Best hard ice cream and soft serve.Beautiful wooded setting.Right on rt.109.
Always amazing. Good ice cream, tons of options and nice outdoor seating in the back. Staff is always very friendly too.
My daughters favorite ice cream shop
Great place for ice cream on a hot day! There are a multitude of choices between ice cream and different ices. This place also serves great food! The menu is large and varied. One of the best is fried clams with fries and Cole slaw. You can sit inside at the many tables or bring your food outside to one of the picnic tables. The place closes after the weather gets cold so make sure that you get here in the summer!
Outstanding place, if its hard ice cream, soft serve or their underrated food service, Bubbling Brook has everything you need (and is very safe)
Bubbling Brook is by far the BEST ice cream in Massachusetts. Such great memories of coming here as a child! Their fried clams and scallops are amazing. If only they had more parking......
Nice afternoon in the sun with family
Great ice cream
Very expressive
Excellent all around!
Did bubbling brook change their cup size or was 2 scoops always a large!? Cost seven dollars and change, I mean it’s good but not that good!
Delicious and refreshingly simple! Ice cream - hard and soft serve at the window. Also a restaurant inside, very small, classic american diner food. Hard serve ice cream comes in 2 sizes- super simple. Big portions and absolutely delicious flavors! Soft serve has so many flavors too, including dips in like 4 flavors! Also do their own version of a blizzard. Soft serve was more popular than hard when we were there. Definitely will be back.
First time visiting; parking is a bit chaotic, even mid afternoon so I would guess on a hot summer night it would be madness, but the ice cream was great. My kids all got something with oreo in it and the bites I sampled were almost as good as my black raspberry chip. The real food smelled great, so my next visit will include a longer and more complete meal!
Amazing ice cream place that has hard ice cream and soft serve.
Yummy food
Tried to order food and shakes on the phone but was told I didn’t order enough food and was asked to order when I got there. Not easy when I have kids with me, mask requirements, and social distancing. I’m waiting in line and a family cuts us, nothing is said to them. We’re called over to another window and rudely told after we try to order that “this window is for soft serve only. You can get back in line over there”. Waste of time, won’t be bringing my family back there again.
YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE! Not sure what makes it so famous - the food or ice cream. Fried food you will come back for. They sell regular and soft serve ice cream and both are really good. Their ice cream prices have gotten a bit out of hand but home made ice cream has gone up drastically most everywhere. Sometimes you get the person making the cones who is super cheap and sometimes you get a very generous server.
Another great small family owned business, and of course really good food
Ive been going here since I was a child. Always great ice cream!
Everything Ive gotten here is always excellent! From the bubbling brook special to their soft serve to their incredible number of ice cream flavors to their haddock sandwich always fresh always delicious and excellent service always with a smile. I highly recommend this place for your next family stop.
The freshest of seafood and great ice cream sodas finally enjoyed at the outside picnic tables on a perfect evening Paradise!
Just tried to get some ice cream with my husband and my 4-year old niece, and went inside because it is pouring rain outside. there are 14 tables in the place; only 4 occupied. they would not allow us to sit down at a table for a quick ice cream unless everyone ate lunch first. at 3:00 in the afternoon. with 10 empty tables. in the pouring rain with a four-year old. and even then, ice cream cones were not allowed inside -- only ice cream in a dish. seriously??!! and this is supposed to be a family-friendly place? we will NOT be returning to this customer-hostile establishment. much prefer an ice-cream parlour where kindness and courtesy are the norm.
Cant vouch for their food, but their ice cream is delicious. The prices arent too bad and you get your moneys worth. Workers are always very friendly and the stream in the back is nice for kids.
While the lines may be long, the ice cream is the best Ive ever had.
Been going here for years. A clean, delicious, and nostalgic childhood staple. Fried Clams and specifically the strips are awesome.
Good restaurant and great ice cream stand. True to the name, there is a scenic bubbling brook in the back of the picnic area, though mosquitoes will swarm you in the summer if you stand too close. Its closed in the winter, so go when you have a chance.
Summer classic
Very good place to get ice cream. They have soft serve and hand dipped. Reason not a 5 star is the old man that waited on me was not friendly.
Go here with my family and the food is great. The best is the hamburger club and the onion rings. The raspberry lime ricky is the best drink. The ice cream is good too
Great seasonal dining, smaller eat in area. Great for ice cream and yes there is a bubbling brook behind the building. Great place for families. Elderly and children will love it as well as everyone in between. Worth the trip.
Nice place to get a good meal and some ice cream for dessert. It has very nice people working there, mostly high school age kids that is why it closes for the school year. Never a bad experience!
Theres nothing like a good burger and ice cream as a desert. And this is the place for it. I like this place a lot. Clean and good service.
This place has been in business for at least 30 years, and is a great place to get ice cream in the summer. Its only open from the beginning of May to mid August, and the prices are a little steep, but the ice cream is worth it. Ice cream is cash only, and they have an ATM next to the dining room inside. Im unfamiliar with the dining room menu so I cant comment on it except that its mostly quick grill eats and occasional soup.
Gotta stop here for the Creamsicle twist soft serve ice cream cones. Nothing better on a hot day. They have hard and soft ice cream as well. Nice little sitting area too for the kids to explore while eating their dessert.
Wonderful fresh seafood and ice cream and picnic area and friendly atmosphere.
Nice plane for a casual lunch at the picnic tables.
It’s good but small portions still love this place
The food is fantastic. The servers friendly and courteous.
Outstanding food. Even better customer service. Went in with my special needs daughter who was having some behavioral issues and the entire staff couldnt have been kinder and more helpful. Cant say enough about how they made us feel very comfortable during our stay. THANK YOU!!!!!
I thought the wait staff was very RUDE I wanted to get a sundae and seat inside I do not like eating in my car or outdoors. I was yelled at by several people that if I order a meal I can have a sundae. Been going to Bubbling Brook my whole life never ever have I been treated so demeaning and rudely. I may not ever return
Lines outside going to windows where you can order food and ice cream. The staff was friendly and the food was good.
Bubbling Brook is a staple of this area, feeding residents great ice cream and solid diner fare for generations. Especially delicious is the soft serve ice cream dipped in chocolate (my preference since I was a toddler). New cutomers be aware it is cash only, but theres an ATM inside.
Always a great place for a good quality ice cream. Line moves fast even if your see 20 people waiting. Cash only but they have an ATM inside.. picnic tables outside to enjoy your ice cream and parking down the road if lot is fill. Hours for ice cream are till 9. Food stops at 8
We are another family that for many years has been frequenting this simple, clean restaurant, where the food is its own best advertising. The meals are consistently delicious. One of us loves the clams, another the meat loaf. The daily specials are such a great deal!Bubbling Brook, nestled at a crossroads between woods and pastures, is closed in the winter, and the day it reopens in March is an occasion to smile.
LOVE the brook. Such a great hangout. Yummy ice cream and outdoor seating or a quick meal inside. Beware - on a beautiful day or after a big game, can be very crowded.
A family tradition! Bubbling Brook is certainly a local legend, and earns its keep. Wonderful food, cheap prices, and a great outdoor seating area with plenty of space for the kiddos to run around with their ice cream. Be sure to bring some bug spray if you want to walk to the brook!
Got hotdog, fries, and ice cream. Sat in the dining room. Very yummy. Food had good prices. Ice cream was delicious. Will be back.
Good inexpensive food. From outside its hard to tell that the place serves food, but they an extensive menu. There is also a nice outdoor seating area near a brook.
