Currently the best used bookstore (price/value/selection wise) in the LA area (and to be absolutely clear this would include Half Off Books that moved from Whittier to Fullerton and the Last Bookstore (gasp)). Certainly the best used bookstore associated with a library in Socal.Photo is of last set of finds. Total cost was $8!Kudos to the staff. Last time i was there, place was supposed to close at noon. I got there five after. they stayed open well past 12:30 for the love of running a Bookstore. Someone came in after me and asked when do you close today. Someone said we were supposed to close at noon but we will close when we are ready to leave.

They have a lot childrens books and great prices. I particularly went because my friend told me they that a section of childrens books in Spanish. I wanted to buy so many of them but I had to choose only about 20 to stick to my budget.

This bookstore is a treasure for book lovers, they have a little of everythingif they dont have it stock wait a couple of daysI never look for a book when I visit because the book (s) will find mehighly recommend stopping by

A little unorganized but staff was more than happy to help me find some gems. Very good prices for used books and better when on sale. A very pleasant browsing experience and a great place to find the unusual and peculiar and exotic books titles.

Incredibly welcoming atmosphere, with cool finds you wouldnt find on Amazon. While I dont like the short open times, its forgivable and understandable since its run by volunteers.

This place is awesome, everyone is friendly and ready to recommend a great read if you are on the hunt! Definitely a hidden gem. They have a lot of variety and for cheap. I got kids books, money management books, meditation books and a Japanese dictionary all for 11 bucks! The plus is that you are also supporting a great cause.

Absolutely love this place. Volunteers are super kind, are always willing to help if you ever need anything. This place is like treasure if you like reading. The place is so well organized and always have different types of books coming in. Always remember to bring cash, as it is cash only.

Operated by the Friends of the Whittier Library, this all volunteer used bookstore is set up more like a treasure hunt then a traditional bookstore. As a example they have hundreds of cookbooks, appetizers might be in the middle and a baking 3 rows down. However with most used books in great condition and priced at a dollar or two its worth the hunt.

If I were to compare all the library bookstores Ive gone into, this one has been the best. They have more books on shelves, on carts & still in boxes lining the walk ways inside & out than the 8-9 volunteers & staff are able to keep up with. Not only books but they also have, Magazines, DVDs, CDs, VCR Tapes, Games, Ciff Notes, Law Books, etc. Prices are very reasonable (ex. I pd $2. for $70 book) Staff is helpful & will negotiate out the door cost if you buy a good amount.Try Here 1st. Before going to a used bookstore. When your done with your book(s). Lots and lots of used books organized by subject matter, so its more of a treasure hunt then a quick stop. Run by volunteers, so have patience if you need help.

Fascinating bookstore. They have books covering every subject under the sun . . . at marvelous prices. Plus, the money goes to support the Whittier Library. You can spend hours browsing though the collection.

Books at a great bargain. No other store I have ever been to has prices this low. Great variety, antiquities, periodicals, homeschool, cooking, and require reading, for punlic schools.

Limited hours, and a little disorganized, but the books are very inexpensive, and they have a surprisingly good selection. One of the best used book stores in Southern California, for sure.
