Got a prs sonzera 50 off of craigslist that blew out at practice the same day i bought it so i brought it over to raul. he was able to open up the amp and find out that the problem was in the speaker and tubes and charged me for that maintenance. during the time that i left my amp with raul, he found more problems (melted sodders) but did not charge me extra because i had already paid so much to get the amp in the first place which was very nice of him!! highly recommend perfect amp and guitar repair. very friendly customer service and quality repairs

Raul is the best!!! Talk about an honest repairman thats there to help. Today I took my amp for not powering on. I had forgotten that I had crisscrossed the wires. He checked the fuses and sure enough, one of the fuses had blown. He gave me 2 fuses and didnt charge me a cent. I took the amp home, put in the fuses and the wires correctly and my amp is singing again. To be honest, this isnt the first time that Raul has treated me like family. If you need an amp or guitar repaired, do yourself a favor and take it to Raul. Raul, God bless you and your family!!!

Brought my Peavey Triple X amplifier to have inspected for some issues with crackling pots and the volume control knob slip. Raul did a great job and it sounds much better. The turn-around time was fast and he even offered me a new power cord after the old one was fraying. Excellent service. Will definitely come back if I need more work done in the future.

My acoustic guitar was making a weird buzzing noise whenever I strummed too hard, so I took it here for a setup. Raul was able to find the issue and fix it and adjusted the sound of my guitar as requested. Along with the fixes to the sound and playability, my guitar was shining after the setup :) I also took my bass to get setup right after and received the same great service along with great improvements to the playability!Bonus is that hes also very on top of sanitation especially during this pandemic! He makes sure to sanitize before and after meeting customers and sanitizes everything he touches, even my credit card :)

I have been a fender amp owner for many years and recently purchased my first vox amp. I purchased a used AC30 handwired with the blue Celestions speakers and after a week with the vox amp I noticed a faint humming noise when hooking up my fender telecaster. So as a worried owner I searched online for my nearest guitar/amp repair store. Coming across Raul’s shop Perfect Guitar & Amp Repair I gave him a call asking him if vox was his speciality. And kindly said yes to bring my amp on over to his shop. Soon as I dropped off my amp and showed him the noisey issue he quickly realized that nothing was wrong with the amp that it was just very high in top boost and gain causing a normal humming noise. Also not realizing that telecasters are pretty top heavy with gain they are also a noisey guitar when hooking them up with big amps. He kindly informed me on the vox Amps and kindly didn’t charge me for taking up his time. I would highly recommend Rauls shop. Customer service and the store atmosphere is perfect and will return whenever I have have future guitar and amp issues.

Raul is a legend!! brought over a Fender Offset telecaster to fix some ground and wiring issues. I had taken it to guitar center but the dude there could not stop the hum coming from the guitar. It had a weird issue were if you touch the control plate the noise would go away but as soon as you let go it would be noisy. Raul fixed it and now my guitar sounds cleaner then ever. I also had him set up my guitar and believe me, it plays smoother than ever. The action is perfect. This is now my go to spot for getting my guitars maintained/repaired.

I brought in an Egnater Rebel amp. Raul went through the amp carefully, and fixed a multitude of issues, some small, some large. He got it done sooner than expected. The amp now sounds cleaner than when it was new. GREAT WORK!!

Took my all tube Marshall DSL40C amp in a few weeks ago. It just wasnt sounding right and I really didnt know what was up with it. Raul was able to take it apart, trace down the problem, check and cleaned all connections and had it back to me in a matter of a few days. The Marshall sounds Monster!! Full rewire of a pretty odd puzzling preamp that I had in my hands and they gladly took care of it. Gave me a reasonable estimate upfront and finalized an outstanding outcome with a warranty. Raul just completely restored my 1961 Fender Princeton amp for less than it would have cost me to do it myself. Switched all tubes, cleaned pots, switched power chord, and checked everything. Work was well done, amp sings incredibly, and very reasonable price with warranty. Raul works with known artists that vouch for his work, I will definitely bring all guitars and amps to him from now on.

A lot of the time when you hear of a “smaller or non big box chain store” company you think great customer service but not so great quality. Raul totally shatters that prescription. Here you get personal customer service and the highest quality and such a high level of care for your equipment. I took my 2007 Takamine acoustic guitar to Perfect Guitar Repair for a setup. Raul inspected it and said he was sure he could make it more playable. What an understatement! The feel of this guitar now is amazing and theres a huge difference from how it felt before. As if that werent enough, I had asked for things to be done that Raul decided I didnt need so the bill was much less than originally estimated. And then to top it off, when I picked my guitar up, Raul had completely cleaned it and waxed it. My guitar is now beautiful and is incredibly comfortable to play. Its rare to see a business earn such high praise review after review but now I know why Raul at Perfect Guitar Repair does. Im going to recommend him highly to every guitar player I know.

I was told he doesnt want to work on bass amps. The very polite lady at the counter explained that I should come back when he isnt so busy and basically take my amp and leave. Just needed a look through to see if it was salvageable or done. I would think an ampeg svt would warrant a look at least. Will not be returning

First thing that came to mind when I got my Strat back was wow! Quick turnaround. When I walked in Raul told me it was unplayable before and set me up to try it out. I just thought to myself, okay lets not exaggerate. Well, he wasnt kidding. I didnt realize the problems it had until I played it. Night and day. Black and white. This place is the only place I’ll take my gear. Raul is an expert guitar and amp repairman. He fixed my Fender DeVille for half of what I was told it would cost by other shops. He also does an expert set up on all my guitars and has them looking and sounding better than ever; a real craftsman.Time and time again I get into a conversation with others about who to take my gear to and 9 times out of 10 it ends up that we’re talking about Raul’s shop. Never heard anyone say they’ve had anything than a pleasant experience.

Raul has worked on several of my guitars from Fender Strats to a Gibson Les Paul.He also fixed my older Peavy 120 watt triumph tube amp that other Luthiers didnt want to touch.All of his work is quality and affordable.Hes a straight up no nonsense Luthier who takes great pride in his craft.Hes is a genuine person and friendly!

Raul at Perfect Guitar Repair is THE MAN. I brought him my 5150 last week that had a fried circuit board. I thought it might be done for and time to look for a new amp... but Raul worked his magic and got it up and running and sounding better than ever. I also took him my Les Paul to be set up a few days ago. It had a problem with the toggle switch and input and he fixed that up right away. He had my gear all fixed up and perfect just in time for our 2 shows this past weekend. PGR is definitely my go-to spot from now on. No more neglecting my gear just because I cant find someone to repair it fast and for a reasonable price. Thanks, again Raul!!!

I just had the worst experience with them recently. I took my guitar to get the neck set-up a few weeks ago, when his shop was offering $60 set-ups, and after three weeks I was finally given my guitar back. However, Raul was no longer offering the receipt he gave me, and he was charging me double for his work. His reasoning was that he did other things for my guitar, such as including a wiring set-up that I specifically said not to do. His wiring set-up was pointless because my guitar no longer makes sound; So I was charged double for a job I told him not to do because he was going to charge me an extra $100 for (Suspicious much?).Im genuinely shocked by Rauls shady business practices, especially since he was very adamant on wanting to meet him at his house rather than at his shop to have deals for my guitar. This isnt some back alley drug deal Im trying to pursue, I just want a guitar that works, and he ultimately ripped me off instead. Im considering pursuing legal action over this. I know Im in the minority with my review, because Rauls likes to take pride about how he has five star reviews on Yelp and on Google, but from my experience, hes not efficient with his work, and not at all professional. There are better Guitar repairmen across Los Angeles and Long Beach, Raul works more like a incompetent used car salesman. Buyer beware.

Just picked up my Peavey 5150 Van Halen block letter and Les Paul. All I can say is my jaw has dropped! Raul did an amazing job on the set up of my guitar, it has never played as good as it does now. Additionally my amp was toasted on the circuit board and I was pretty sure it was done but Raul brought it back to life and for a great price. He does great work and is SUPER CHILL. Raul has repaired and/or upgraded my 73 Strat, Roland KC Key amp, Carvin P.A. unit with an expertise and collegiality Ive not seen at Guitar Center, Sam Ash, California Speaker Repair (now defunct), or Carvin, and Ive sought service/repairs from N. Hollywood to Long Beach for some 40 years. I must add, prices are way reasonable. And he plays a mean guitar to boot! Dont know if one can do much better....

Bought a 2014 Les Paul Trad Pro II from GC and played out of tune from the start. GC performed a set up and it was still out of tune. Took to expensive guitar luthier and after lots of $$$ still out of tune. Took to Sam Ash, set up #3 and still payed out of tune. Gibson could not help me other than to send the LP to them for 8 weeks for evaluation. I decided to bring one last time to Raul at Perfect Guitar and Amp Repair. Within 3 days he fixed the problem several experts could not figure out!!! LP plays in tune and I now have a guitar that I’ll be giggin’ with. He earned my trust and will now handle all My guitars and amps. Highest recommendation!!!

Ive been going to Raul since late last year and I feel so glad to have found him. Within the few months of knowing him hes fixed a number of items including my Telecaster, egnater tube amp, ampeg svt pro, a number pedals, and cabinets. All of these items were returned within a quick and reasonable time frame. The work he did on my Tele was absolutely beautiful. The set up, neck adjustment and pots he installed made the guitar play and sound better than when I first bought it. It felt truly invigorating to play on equipment that was restored to its optimal performance. .You can clearly tell that Raul dedicates much care and time into everything he works on. He a real friendly, down to earth guy that you can count on. His prices are never beyond its reasonable cost and you can always count on him to let you know if something is worth getting fixed, taken somewhere else, or simply let go.I recommend Raul at Perfect Guitar and Amp Repair over anyone else in the Los Angeles.
