Joe and his team were contracted by builder to put in 385 ft of cedar fencing with gates. This allows us to move in with our three large dogs on day one.Joe worked with us to come up with a design and then he and his team really delivered a beautiful fence!Great communication and great service!(We found out that the builder wasnt going to put in a mailbox...and Joe delivered once again....had it installed in less than 24 hours!)

This company came out received full payment, and did the work, however during installment of my fence they cut my cable line ( they didn’t call utilities to check lines) didn’t say anything, I fixed this problem on my own. They also cut through my French drain, which they originally said they would come out and fix, no one came the French drain remains damaged. After calling them countless times to ask about the repairs they said that my request was on the complete pile, so they paid their workers and the workers never completed the job. I have continued to contact them to see if this can be resolved and no one ever calls me back, I have reported them to better business bureau and I am now contacting the state attorney’s office. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS FOR ANY REASON! Their work was done in a timely matter but sloppy and with damaging your property not being a priory to fix is a big problem. This is a warning!

Kidwell fencing came and did our black chain link fence. They beat the price of two other vendors we talked to. They finally installed the fence after 3 weeks, permit was supposed to be taken care of, but it wasn’t. We had to play chase with the town and Kidwell. After the fence installed, we were happy and it looks good for about 8 weeks until I started to notice the paint was coming off, the pipping broken apart, the hinges are lose and uneven . I was under the impression, the fence would be a rubberized coated instead of just black painted fence, but maybe I was wrong . I was told that the fence has 25 year warranty, so I had asked them to come back to inspect the damages, they told me they can come to take a look at. It took 14 phone calls, two emails, and talked to Mr Kidwell himself to have someone come out and they never showed 4x. My husband is a quadriplegic, as a primary caregiver, a wife, and still work full time, time is valuable to us. When someone just canceled with no warning it throws out all of our plan. I had mentioned this to them . We have three dogs, they don’t go out the backyard much because of our newly installed garden, but safety is my priority. I just feel like they don’t have a sense of urgency, nor that time is valuable, especially when you have someone disable that you are caring for . I had asked them to please work on their time organization and customer service. No call no show 4x is unacceptable for us. We have decided to go with someone else to assess and to fix the issue .

Three sections of the wooden stockade fence in our back yard were leaning in and needed to be straightened, what appeared to be a fairly straight forward repair. Mr. Kidwell came to the house, advised the repairs could be done fairly easily, and provided what we thought was a fair price for the work. Now, I had been advised by a neighbor that they had problems with Kidwell Fencing and recommended not using them, but I thought the repairs we were asking to be done did not appear to be that difficult. Well, shame on me. Once I called Kidwell Fencing back to advise we wanted them to do the repairs, things went down hill quickly. Failure to respond to calls to set up a date for the work occurred on a number of occasions. Finally, only after stopping by the office on two occasions did I receive a phone call scheduling the work. Two brothers (who had been sub-contracted by Kidwell, we were never advised by the office that the job had been sub-contracted), came to the house AFTER they had finished working their normal job each day (obviously this was part time work for them). When the fence work was finally completed, it was straight, BUT the bottom of the fence boards were set higher from the ground that originally set exposing some cracked bottoms of the boards . Plus, there was now a gap in the gate in the fence that had to be fixed by a jury rigged fix. I sent Mr. Kidwell a letter advising of my displeasure with the work, including photographs. Shortly thereafter I received a phone call from the office advising that Mr. Kidwell wanted to come out to examine the work. We agreed on the next day. The following morning I received a call advising that the meeting would have to be postponed. I advised were going a a road trip the next day to visit family and friends and would be back in three weeks. I was asked to call when we got back. I called this past Monday ago and was advised Mr. Kidwell would be out the next day (yesterday) between 4:30 and 5:30 PM. Again, no phone call and Mr. Kidwell failed to keep the appointment.. Needless to say, I would never used Kidwell Fencing for any work. The quality of work was sub standard, and the customer service nonexistent. Again, shame on me!

Theres a saying Alls well that ends well. Our job (for a property owners association, over $12k) did not end well.I wont say everything about the job was bad, because that wouldnt be true. Most parts are good, some are just OK, and some are terrible and werent dealt with after repeated attempts for over 2 months.Hint: If they dont want to put their badge on the finished job, that might indicate something not so good.In our case, some fence boards have fallen because they were literally TOE-NAILED to the post, which split when there was some expansion/contraction after a couple of months (photos of their workmanship attached). There was NO PART of those boards on the face of the post. Owner Joe Kidwell actually came out to look at the fallen boards. Yet, when I followed up asking when they would be repaired, he asked if he had given me a price. Price for what? The contract says All work is guaranteed for 2 years (Our job was done in October 2018). Then he texted: We cover everything but acts of god. Well, not fallen boards due to shoddy workmanship.They also never returned to seed and straw the torn up turf as was agreed upon in the contract, and did not return to repair the 6 deep ruts left by one of their crew trucks. I made a mistake not holding back full payment until that short punch list was completed. It was a good faith gesture to pay in full on the promise theyd take take of those finishing items, which in hindsight was not warranted.After 8 weeks of run-around and promises to fix it, I give up. Ill fix it myself.I want to add that I dont think its such an abnormal or awful thing that mistakes are be made by a crew members, but the total disregard for the obligation to fix them under the warranty is not something I can respect at all.Takeaway: If you have the time and know-how to inspect EVERY post and board, and hold your final payment until every single punch list item is done, and you can accept that the warranty isnt worth the paper its printed on, then you may be OK with Kidwell, the business with an F rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Consumers beware! I would not recommend. Heres why: no website, unresponsive and unprofessional. This is my first experience with compromised work by a contractor. I had two projects with Kidwell. On both projects architectural drawings requested by the HOA were never completed. This is a big problem for me as a homeowner because the fence they installed was never approved by my HOA. Kidwell was Unresponsive and unapologetic. My neighbor referred them, so I tried to give them a chance. In a nutshell there were multiple opportunities given to the company to right the situation. Finally I gave up on the deck project because I couldnt get a response from anyone. And not for lack of trying. Its been 4 months since the work was cancelled. Still awaiting refund of $500 dollar deposit. The Better Business Bureau tried to reaching out to but no response from Kidwell either.

Joe came out and we discussed option and pricing for different types of fence. They were able to start quickly and got the fence installed in very little time. I am very happy with the results of my privacy fence.

Kidwell Fencing was quick to give a quote, quick to cash the check, slow to perform the work, and doesnt stand by their warranty.Ive been trying to have a deck light repaired/replaced under warranty from Kidwell for months, Ive emailed and called them a dozen times over the past several months, provided photos and commentary to several Kidwell employees, they refuse to call back with anything other than a well get back to you, which they never do.You pay top dollar for outdated proprietary materials and they refuse to honor their 2-year warranty when something goes wrong. One would think a simple light bulb swap would be easy...not when dealing with proprietary materials no longer in service, and not when dealing with Kidwell. They have the worst communication/follow-up skills Ive ever seen from a contractor, which is a shame; the contractors who performed the work, were polite, courteous, and had great skill in their assigned tasks. I have large future deck/pool/spa plans, and I was going to use Kidwell for all the work...no longer. To think, Kidwell lost out on 10s of thousands in work...over a light replacement.Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Our fencing installation was extremely well done. The crew was very professional and efficient. They left the property In perfect condition. And the fence is a beautiful addition to our property.

My deck stairs are falling apart after 3 months (not to mention it took 3 months to complete our fence and deck stairs when we were promised weeks and the owner was very rude to my wife).They never put in concrete at the posts and now the stairs need to be torn out and rebuilt. We’ve called, emailed, and left voicemails with no reply. I’m appalled at the lack of care or customer service.

Just save yourself all the trouble and skip right over this place. Im not someone to write a bad review. In fact, Ive only done so once before in my life and only as a caution to the general public. Trust me when I say Im doing you a favor. We hired this company put in a fence for our home and spent around 50k for it. It has cost us countless hours of attempted contact and asking nicely and not so nicely to correct the copious amount of mistakes. Split posts, posts not secured with concrete even though we paid for it, fence has shifted because of said mistakes, gates dont operate, wire unsecured, etc. We have paid for a fence that is not just an eyesore, but that doesnt even function. I can prove that we have amicably attempted to have them correct it and have hundreds of replies admitting fault and promising to show up tomorrow to fix it. Its been an ENTIRE year of this. This is my warning to the general public that this company will steal your money and not deliver on a job well done. Save yourself from this guy.

I was originally very skeptical of doing business with this company due to the google reviews. I learned that not all people are very honest on here and sometimes people just want to stir up some trouble. It seems that since the company has revamped their office staff over the last year and replaced some supervising employees that things seem to be running a lot smoother than most people are stating. After several negotiations with Mr. Kidwell about the pricing on our contract we were able to get the cost down to where I needed it to be. mr. Kidwell was polite and respectful the entire negotiation process and not once did he ever seem to be getting rude or disrespectful. The guys come to do the job, they did a wonderful job, were very professional and polite, clean up was even spectacular. I will definitely do business in the future with these guys and have actually contracted them to do more work on my residence. I truly hope people take the time to pay attention to these reviews and know that you can’t always make everyone happy especially in these days with COVID-19. Things will obviously take longer to get done because of supply and demand but that shouldn’t mean that people whom are impatient have the right to bad mouth our local small businesses. This place deserves a lot more credit than what is given. Great job guys and I am looking forward to working with you more in the near future.

Wish I could neg stars. Kidwell is a liar and a cheat. He will say anything to get a contract then not get the work done for weeks. When he finally sent a crew one guy spoke english and the other spoke spanish. They could not communicate. We had to lend them a chain saw because theirs wasnt working. Job wasnt ever completed. I have called Kidwell over 20 times and not gotten a call back. Just ridiculous!!!

Kidwell does decent work if you can ever get them out there. We had Joe come out for an estimate and he said he could have his people out that week if they have the materials and the next week if they would have to order them. A MONTH AND A HALF later after weekly phone calls asking for updates on when they would start I got a call at 8 saying they could be there at 9. I was able to get out of work to meet them at 9 and then after 5 phone calls asking for updates they show up at 11:30, the workers said there was no way they could have been there by 9. When they finish the work I get a call at work saying How do you like your fence? How would you like to pay?. Apparently they expect people to pay for the fence without seeing it. The next day I pay them by credit card, after looking at the fence in the dark, with the caveat that the manager meet me at the house Monday morning at 7:30 to go over it. He never did show up and I never got a call. I would HIGHLY recommend looking ELSEWHERE!!!! Until management gets their act together, which based on other reviews doesnt seem likely, Kidwell is not worth that hassle involved in getting the work done.

We have called daily. Most times no answer on the phone or no call back from a phone message. They finally showed up 3 weeks later to set the poles in concrete and havent come back. We have called daily and it seems now that they are ignoring our calls. They take the money but dont want to do the work. Do yourself a favor and go with anyone else but Kidwell.

Absolutely great customer service from the initial phone call to get a quote. Once the quote was accepted, work began within 5 days and was finished in 2. Top quality craftsmanship. Actually piece built instead of a panel built fence that makes it stronger and more durable. Could not ask for a better job from start to finish and wouldnt consider any one else with any future projects that Kidwell fencing can cover. Thank you Kidwell Fence for a great job!

I have been using Kidwell Fence company since 2001 when they built a decorative fence for our first home in Stephens City. Since then they have been doing maintenance on our split rail fence in Berryville, VA and installed a new aluminum pool fence in 2018.This year we had a very bad experience with a local deck builder where the contractor left our composite deck unfinished and poorly constructed. We consulted with Corey from Kidwell Fence and he came up with a plan to completely redo the deck. It couldnt have turned out better! He and his crew did an amazing job and we are forever grateful.

Property assessment completed in a timely fashion, quote very reasonable, and great follow-up. No pressure forcing quick decision allowing time to look at options. This company is a joke. My husband and I called to get a large estimate done on our whole backyard. We called them on Tuesday May 24 they said they had times open both Wednesday and Thursday May 25 and 26. We told them either would work. They said okay Thursday at 12pm. Thursday at 12 came along and no one showed up or called. Around 12:30 we got a call from a cell phone it was a guy who said he was the guy coming to give us an estimate he said he was sorry he is going to have to cancel coming out today because they overbooked his appointments. We decided to give them another chance because mistakes do happen so we told him how about Friday? He said no I cant its Memorial Day weekend first day I can is Tuesday the 31st at 12pm. We said okay. Tuesday came so did 12pm then 1pm and finally 1:30pm my husband called them and said we had an appointment at 12 and no one came. They said oh let me check on that and call you right back. Needless to say we then called someone else they came the day they were suppose to and gave us an estimate and we paid them the deposit. Guess what.... still didnt hear from Kidwell. On Monday June 6 almost two weeks from the first time they were suppose to call us we came home to a call on our answering machine that said This is Kidwell Fencing sorry we missed our estimate deadline hope we can get out there for you sometime and give you estimate. Yeah no thanks! I will never call you all again for anything I may need in the future. Could at least called us back. I hope you change your business before you lose all your future customers like you lost us.

Would leave less stars if possible, been dealing with them for 2 months to complete a simple punch list, was told someone would be out never happened, have called numerous times both to the cell of one of the main guys and to the business line no answer left messages no call back. Joe Kidwell met with me and provided excellent options in fencing products. He is well versed in all the designs and was very professional. He works with you one on one and ensures you are satisfied with the finished product.

Paid for vinyl coated chain link fence. caught their employees spray painting regular metal fence black to pass it off as vinyl coated. when confronted, they said when they run low on the vinyl coated material this is what they do all the time. attempted fraud? also, gates were installed incorrect. one opens up hill and is unusable. they refused to correct. i paid for 209 feet of fence but received 183 feet. they refused a refund. if you have any other choice for a fence builder, take it. use these people and expect an issue.

We contacted Kidwell Fencing Company in Winchester VA, I had several companies come out. I negotiated a verbal agreement with Joe Kidwell to put a $2,000-down payment on a fence and steps coming off our deck with a gate. Joe promised we could finance the project no payments for 6 months and no interest for 12 months verbally. He also told us he could start within a couple days latest end of week.I had business done by him before about 6 years ago so, I decided to go with them again because he was able to work with our finance needs.He sent out a quote which we did not initially sign because he did not include the finance request we agreed on, so we asked for another agreement with that included, he sent another contract still without the terms attached deleted our gate without our knowledge (but still charged us for the gate in quote) and added an extra $395.When I called Joe about this he said awww that’s a finance charge we can’t do these things for free. Which in itself was irritating because we were paying them $7,000.When asked why my terms were not clarified on that form he said it would be included in the financial contract that he didn’t handle that part.So we agreed and signed the work paid out $2,000 deposit at that moment. A couple days later a finance guy comes out to house and completely dismisses and has no clue about the no payments for six months. So since we already paid our deposit we reluctantly signed the agreementSo at this point we are locked into a contract. Joe is very smooth and a car salesman type, tells you what you want to hear and changes the arrangement after your all in, Needless to say he did not start when promised he started at least a week after promised date.The fence guys were out early and respectful. One of his men came out during the fence being put up and said he would be out the next day to match steps and order material. He never arrived.Fast forward another week going by go them saying daily they were coming out every single morning…the wrong floor boards were ordered one day, another day supposedly the floor boarding company sold my boards to someone else, the next day the boards never come, and so on with their bs…This process happened about 7 times at this point. Us scheduling around Mr Kidwell & Thomas team, they made it clear it was not their top priority by not showing up and not calling or texting they were not coming. Then instead of installing a step on the bottom because they said the yard was slanted they had to do a concrete bottom step in which they assured would look even nicer.Two more appointments scheduled to do this with no show or call, they finally get out to do it and it really just looked like garbage. Joe comes out to look at it and agrees it looks very bad. He promises once again to come out the very next morning to fix it. Never shows. I texted him to let him know how dissatisfied I was with the constant no shows and disgusting behavior or poor quality and he turned it around on me.Saying basically, I was mean and that’s why this all happened. We actually were very kind up until the last couple of no shows. I think any customer would have gone off 2nd or 3rd time waiting on them with no respect of a call or text just waiting on them.He manipulated the arrangement said I was getting a certain agreement just to get the contract and unprofessionally handled the project both him and his staff the entire way. This project was an absolute nightmare. He’s a manipulator, liar and his business is profoundly unprofessional and we are completely unhappy with the result of the work.

They have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau for a reason. I had them build a small deck for me and it has been a complete disaster. They started the project FIVE WEEKS after they said they would, this was a giant red flag I know, but I was going through demobilization after a deployment to the middle east and was not in a good position to deal with finding another contractor. Their crew had a complete lack of respect for our property, cigarette butts left where ever they were flicked, they left over FORTY sharp nails and screws that were callously strew across our yard where my six year old daughter plays (unbelievable). They assured me a company was coming to pick up the left over wood laying in the yard, which never happened and by the time I was able to move it all myself the grass underneath was dead. They failed one of their permit inspections so the inspector had to return and, unbeknownst to me until I got stuck with the bill, charged for the re-inspection, a matter on which Kidwell refused to even address with me because I had already paid them. And finally, the price just sort of magically increased by 300 dollars, which Randy said was verbally told me by one of their other employees. Total scam, these are some shady business people. Randy does present himself as a nice, decent guy, but dont fall for it, he is an individual with zero ethics and no honor. Save yourself the trouble, these people are a nightmare. Even after I sent them an email (they never return phone calls) addressing all of the above issues I never heard a peep from them. Kidwell is every negative stereotype you ever heard about contractors.

We chose Kidwell Fencing to put up a cedar fence for our back yard this past week. The owner came out right away, twice even, to go over prices and our concerns. Their prices were less than the other quotes we received. The workers showed up when they said they would, were polite and professional, and finished the job in two days. We are very pleased. They were great to work with, honest and reliable.

We just moved to Virginia and Kidwell was recommended to us by our realtor. They came and gave us a price for our Fence to keep the dogs in and we agreed to use them for the Fence, and they did such a wonderful job, we hired them for the Deck. They did such a wonderful job on the Deck, we contracted them to do an extension of the deck, and this turned out spectacular. So since this was a new house for us, we were having other work done on the interior, to which the contractor we hired gave us a hard time so I got rid of them. Along came Kidwell again, they were able to finish the job the previous contractor left unfinished and went the extra mile to make us happy. I would gladly recommend Kidwell to anyone, they are great to work with and really believe the customer comes first..

Wood fence and the boards were warped and I asked them to come out and replace. They never returned. Worst fence I’ve ever seen. I am now looking to put in a Vinyl fence ... they lost my business and several of my neighbors because they asked me who out my fence up.Would not recommend.....

I called around to MANY fencing companies so my husband and I would know who to call when we move into our new home. A lot of other fencing companies advised they did not work in the area we are moving to. Kidwell Fencing advised that they did work in the area we were moving to; however, before I was able to finish my sentence I was hung up on. I began by saying, “we don’t own this house yet”, *HUNG UP ON* what the rest of that sentence was going to be was “but we are making sure you do the fencing we are looking for.”YOU JUST LOST BUSINESS FROM A POTENTIAL CASH PAYING CUSTOMER FOR OVER AN ACRE OF 6-8 FOOT PRIVACY FENCING!!

Our fence looks amazing!! Couldnt be happier with the service and product provided by Kidwells!!!! We had a 6 tall privacy fence installed at our new home and Kidwells crew was there to do the installation the day we closed on our new home as promisesd!!! We saw the reviews on here before signing the contract but my advise to anyone reading these reviews is to remember that some people are impossible to please! I have already recommended Kidwells to 3 of my friends and will be purchasing a deck from them as well in the Spring.

I suspect that the bad reviews are the most common because when people have a good experience, they dont bother to think to write a review. Kidwell has done all of my fencing - and when I gave them a deadline, they met it. When I didnt give them a deadline, the job still got done, but a little bit slower. They were always responsive, do solid work, and fixed any problems that arose later. Im a pig farmer so fencing is extremely important to me, and theyve come through for me every time. Highly recommended.

The work they did was good not great, the price was average for the area. The reason I am giving them only two stars is I got a letter from 84 lumber today saying that Kidwell had not paid them and a Lien was placed on my home. After speaking to their Lien department they gave me an email address to send the receipt and canceled checks to so that they could remove the lien from my new house. I also called several times with no one answering the phone so that I could discuss this with someone. I am still waiting on a call back. The work was completed on 6/16 the date the final check was written. I got the certified mail from 84 Lumber today 9/9 so they have not paid them in three months. Pretty said way to do business. I do not like getting letters like this when I acted in good faith and paid on time. I am guessing they will not like this review either.

I’m actually very surprised to see such bad reviews about Kidwell fencing. I plan on using them a second time because our first fence was done very well and fast. Mr. Kidwell is a veteran and very proud of his business. I’m sure if you would have brought up your concerns to him, things would have been fixed immediately instead of just being keyboard warriors. Use Kidwell Fencing, their gate work was the main reason I’m a repeat customer.

I work in construction so I know first hand that you cant make every customer happy. We went with Kidwells under that pretense and I will tell you my wife and I are glad that we did. They did an amazing job and the process was seamless!! I highly recommend that you use Kidwells. We have had very bad, legitimate problems out of other companies in the area.

I had a vinyl fence installed and it is perfect. My neighbors used Kidwells after my fence was complete and they were just as satisfied with the process and work. They don’t pay there subcontractors, be aware a Mechanic lien can be placed against your house, I did a job for them a year a go and not paid yet- Very small job replaced a broken glass on a window. Not recommended!

My family is new to the area and my neighbor recommended Kidwell Fencing and Home Improvements to build our new deck. We couldnt be happier with Joe and his team. Awesome company to work with.

After a month long nightmare experience with Long Fence, we decided to go with Kidwell. I called on a Saturday and the estimator actually came out on a Sunday to provide the estimate. The estimated price was actually below the long fence price and included more (larger gate, painting the whole fence, and better coated wire). So we went for it and that same week (three days later) they started the fence. The installers spoke English and were very kind and courteous. They listened to my concerns and provided solutions. Within a week I had a completed fence that I am completely happy with. I strongly recommend Kidwell!

Very happy with the fence we had put up by Kidwells. Everything went smooth and the price was awesome compared to the other estimates I got.

My husband and I recently had a fence installed by Kidwells and couldnt be happier. The fence looks amazing! They helped with getting our HOA approval and we had no issues! When we first started shopping for a company, we were a little hesitant with using Kidwell because of these reviews but we had no issues at all. Great job and we will be recommending to all our neighbors.

Terrible experience, we gave 50% deposit for a board fence and then decided that we were going to put it off due to our HOA recommendation, we followed Kidwells cancellation policy to the letter and a month later we still have not been able to get our deposit back. We may end up getting our lawyer involved. Not a good company to work with.

We have had many issues with them. They dont start/finish the work as agreed. There was poor communication regarding their absences (often extended). They have bad billing practices (most recently they cashed a post dated check a week before we had the agreed upon funds). They have some good workers, but the office was not responsive and lied on multiple occasions. Use them at your own risk.

Above all else, do not use this company. Called and got estimate on job almost one month ago, June 30th. Agreed to price and paid half of deposit by check. Was told two weeks. Still waiting on work to begin, no calls from anyone on why they couldnt start. The worst part is, they have our money. And the contract you sign, has no dates on it or any kind of scope of work. All you are signing is a pricing agreement. There has to be better companies out there that dont do business this way. Now at this point if we wanted to try and get our deposit back, id have to get a lawyer. I notice most of the bad reviews have came within the last month. I honestly wonder if the company had something happen. Hopefully whatever it was will keep future people from being ripped off like we were..

Absolute and utter trash. Dishonest bordering on criminal practices. Avoid at all costs. I cannot stress that enough.

Awesome job guys, couldnt be happier with the new fence and my puppies love it. Highly recommend.

It a great place to work and my boss helps alot of people

Mostly disappointed I chose this company. Wood boards are cheap and fall off posts. There are large gaps between boards and post frame with many nails that missed the mark. Payment was demanded the moment work was completed. Really left a bad taste in my mouth but you live and you learn. I wish Id been more assertive with Kidwell Fencing during construction but I was unfortunately recovering from major surgery and had other things on my mind.

We have had Kidwell install close to a 1/2 mile of fencing at our home with not a single problem. It takes them a while usually longer than originally stated to get started however when the work was completed it has been an excellent job at a good price.

If I could give them zero stars I would for sure! As I look at the reviews already posted on this site, I have to say that Im not surprised at the terrible reviews this company has gotten. Several years ago I had Kidwell come to Keyser and build me a vinyl fence that was quite long all around my in ground pool and then on into and around my big yard. I had trouble with them during the project several times and then over the past couple years Ive noticed that my fence around the pool part has been swaying back and forth and coming loose. I knew better than to call Randy Kidwell because he was a first class Jerk when his company first did the work, so I decided to take a portion of my fence down to see if I could secure it better to stop the swaying as I was afraid it wouldnt be long until I would lose it all together. When I took it apart I came to realize pretty quick why it was having a problem. It was because Kidwell didnt even secure the posts deep enough for them to last. It was totally a terrible job from the get go with Kidwell. Now I have to find a way to fix their problem on my own. ATTENTION!!!!!! This is a TERRIBLE company to hire. They are expensive and dont come even close to doing a good job for you. If you hire Kidwell, expect trouble from the start! Oh, and Randy, do the public a favor and just go out of business dude!

Please take a few moments to read this review if you are considering hiring Kidwells to preform any services. As sad is it to say, most of the issues arise with customers when it come time to settle their bills. It is because of customers like these that small businesses fall to larger corporations. I have been a Kidwell employee for more than 15 years and will not deny that we have had a few bad apples that have not upheld our (Kidwells) business practices. There is a reason why we continue to prosper and it very evident by the amount of business that we do with hundreds of satisfied customers. The experience had good points, and bad ones.First, dealing with Randy Kidwell is useless. He was not honest about 90% of what told us and lied to us on more than one occasion about the progress of the projects, dates, etc. I know that even in dealing with his own contacts for completing work, they were given bad information or information that was not given in a fair amount of time.Second - dealing with the actual builder, Wes and his team, this was the type if work Id expect when dealing with a company. Wes and his team were professional and I have to say, the construction is some of the best Ive seen. Im very happy with the construction.Bottom Line: Kidwell Fencing began and completed my deck. I believe the price was fair and Wess Team were a pleasure. However, Randy Kidwell is not someone you want to put any trust into. If you deal with him, call the company and have it backed up. The company made efforts to accomodate me when they realized the dishonesty that was given to me.Future: I will not deal with Kidwell Fencing for any future projects. If I can get Wes and his team to do work for me, I will. But, not through Kidwell.

This whole entire experience with Kidwell has been a complete and total nightmare! It took them a month to even show up to build our fence. The first day they were to come out, they didnt show. When they finally showed up on Friday, one of the workers told me the foreman didnt feel like working yesterday and thats why we didnt show up. When I told him that was not the best thing to tell a client that was already angry, he simply stated he was just being honest.We had to constantly call to get them to come out, the owner offered us a refund instead of trying to make this horrible situation right.I physically showed them where the gate was supposed to go, they had a map in hand and STILL put the posts for the gate in the wrong place. When they did start, they dug 1/4 of the holes for the posts and left for the weekend. Then they came and dug more holes, concreted some of the posts but not all. Now, three weeks into it, we have a partial fence, no one has shown up yet today and its already noon. It isnt raining and no one will answer the phone at the office or a cell phone.I swear if there was an attorney I could contact regarding this I would not hesitate. This job was paid for back in May 2015. Now, mid-July, the fence is finally done and they have the nerve to want more money!!!!!!I understand, at times, one or two people can have a bad experience with a company but this owner and every crew member (always different people each time they decide to show up) we have had to deal with has been worse than childbirth!!!!

Horrible experience with Kidwell Fence and Home Improvements located at136 Musket Drive Winchester, Virginia 22602They did a hardwood floor in my kitchen, living room and hallway. It is coming up EVERYWHERE. There were issues when the work was being done. The fellows who installed the floor broke the water line to the icemaker in refrigerator and it took them over 3 months to fix the floor, they never repaired the water line. Now the floor is popping up in all locations and after over 2 months of calls and trying to get them to respond we still have nothing. Randy Kidwell has been rude and extremely unprofessional pretty much telling me if either Home Depot or Pergo Flooring would not make good on the claim then we are out of luck. My advice to anyone looking for a reputable company DONT USE KIDWELL FENCE AND HOME IMPROVEMENTS.
