If you have a good Job, through a premier employer, and company insurance, this clinic along with most other Heath care in this area even Dental will make sure you pay a huge bill, to cover the Illegal Aliens. I have never experienced any subpar medical practice at William Newton, other than their very questionable billing this time. I was bitten on the leg at a park with my kids, by a transients dog sharing the sidewalk, and he spoke only broken English. I didnt think it went through boot and jeans but after Grandmother made me sit down. I realized my leg was bleeding out of several puncture wounds. Well we only trust the Hospital in Winfield with healthcare, so yes we called and they said they would take me into ER as an outpatient and come on up. Well Im a farmer and had the Vaccine years before and only needed two appointments and a reduced dosage a Booster along with the Vaccine and binders administered at the first appointment. Winfields Hospital is one in my provider in network Hospitals, and weeks later here comes a bill, and OK it cant be that bad. Yep it said two big bills over Thirty Grand billed to my Insurance Company, and I owe Just the Twenty percent and my carrier had paid the 80%. I said in my Heart Hey God thats mighty light of them and I went to laughing. My wife got a hold of the bill and shot it out cyberspace. I had to just wait for a call and one day a lady called me about the bill. I started laughing like on a used car lot when they want more than new price. I told her so you want me to pay that she said well yeah. Then I told her I was an outpatient had two vaccination and a booster the first shots had a binder given by a LPN or RN and saw a LPN once but never a physician. She got quiet went talking to folks came back with a new lower price of Seventeen Thousand Dollars that was really billed to the insurance Company. I said OK send me a copy and we will pay that a week later we get the real bill not the rubber one, and my wife shoots it out into cyberspace. I paid the second one a 20% a little over 3 Grand. I had a child with tick borne illness just before this injury and for several years had treated him through Oklahoma Lyme Network and an ILads Specialist then on to OU College of Medicine and OU Childrens Hospital and OU Edmund. They cured my child in Oklahoma and all the Drugs Therapy and appointments they made it manageable and never experienced anything like the above. I told my wife no matter what happens we are going to OU Edmund, hey its two hours and you wait that long in he Emergency room and OU Edmund takes you right inside to a bed like the old days with staff checking vitals and there isnt this barrier if you got the insurance and cash today even though youve spent your life as a patient. One last thing if you are a Cowley resident or Kansas Resident our Healthcare Providers use a Local Law office for collections. I have friends that were between jobs etc. and told me they found themselves upside down unable to make payments and got court summons for debt then another and one folks couldnt walk and if you miss one of these Dog and Pony show Court Summons they send out an arrest warrant. Then when they know your just walking they come haul you to County Jail and force you to pay or you sit on the inside counting bugs and eating green Baloney, and they bill you for this too. If family doesnt pony up for an attorney then you may get work release to go to your Job then they collect your Check with garnishments and fines and cell rent and lunch card punches.

Scott akers has got to be the most incompetent doctor on this planet. my boyfriend came in experiencing severe knee pain and while examining his knee, scott akers used an excessive amount of force. when my boyfriend asked him to not be so forceful, he ignored this request. also, hes just kind of a general douche. fight me in the parking lot, scott akers.

Dr. Hein is the worst Dr. I have ever seen in an ER. Went in with a colitis flare with internal bleeding and the hospital was full so instead of sending me to another hospital to be admitted like he should’ve he just sent me home with meds. Had to drive to another hospital to be admitted the next day after I got worse!!! Now the nurses and staff were amazing to me but he needs to retire before he kills someone!!!

I only have good things to say about WNMH. Impeccably clean at all times, so important. Staff is helpful and friendly. Wait times for testing and ER are short. Snack bar and caffeteria on ground floor.

My daughter has a lump in her breast. You guys did a sonogram. Said watch it. It has gotten a lot larger. Her doc called you guys for a biopsy. My daughter waited 2 weeks heard nothing. She called her doctor. Her doctor then called a place in Wichita. A week after that she called that place because they never made her appointment. They said insurance wants another sonogram. Her doc calls you guys again to set her up with a sonogram. Made appointment for the 27th you guys called her today and canceled it. Changed appointment for the 10th of november. I am her mother. Always loved our hometown hospital. I am very concerned over this. You would be if it was your daughter. What would you do. Call you guys throw a fit or get a lawyer to call you guys.

This hospital should be investigated for fraud. The medical director of their wound center purposely didn’t approve patients for hyperbaric oxygen therapy so he could get rid of the contractor running the center and get the contract cancelled. He did it at the behest/wishes of the nurses running the center with him because they wanted to have complete control regardless of what was best for the patients.

I went in with trouble breathing, lightheaded, yellow phlegm, and other symptoms after work became too dangerous to continue.I was left there for hours then had my blood drawn. Then they said I was a “little dry” and brushed it all off as dehydration. I’ve been hydrating the past few days prior to coming here and it’s gotten worse. I can’t sleep, catch my breath, or get up too quickly and it makes my job life threatening. The second nurse put on my blood pressure cuff and walked off after which it popped off because it wasn’t on tight enough. Later I heard her telling the staff “he took it off.” I asked another nurse to put it on for me and she said they’ll do it later. I understand other patients with immediately life threatening issues come first but just grabbing the first result and running with it and not addressing the other symptoms or how to help them is just awful. The doctor mentioned my high heart rate and being concerned about it but it wasn’t brought up again. Comforting.Any other doctors’ office would’ve probably swabbed my phlegm, taken my temperature, or recommended something besides “hydrate and ibuprofen” to maybe help me breathe. Meanwhile the diarrhea, trouble breathing, lightheadedness still continue and I can’t sleep. They didn’t even recommend over the counter medicine to help.Brushing off a patient with “you’re a little dry” as the cause for all of this after explaining I’ve been hydrating is infuriating. I wasn’t a “little dry” before I stepped into that office and was left there and now I’m left wondering if I should go to another office to check for an infection. This is the first doctor visit I’ve had where I’m leaving with more concerns than I came in with.Edit: went to urgent care literally hours after when they opened and was confirmed sick by listening to my lungs and looking at my throat. Also the urgent care bothered to take my temperature and didn’t order unnecessary blood tests. They gave me medicine and I’m starting to feel better. This hospital was negligent.

I had a procedure on June 29. From the Receptionist, Barbra to the nurses in the one day surgery, Jannelle, Brooke and Debby, they all treated me with respect and was all very nice to me. Ive had many surgeries and procedures in different hospitals and I have never found so many that cared as much for me. And then there was Dave, he was very kind to me. I would recommend William Newton Hospital to anyone that is going to have anything done in the one day surgery, that they consider William Newton Hospital.

I delivered my (now 17 yr old) daughter at William Newton, and my only complaint was that my doctor didnt make it in time for the delivery. No worries, Betty White, RN, delivered her beautifully! I loved working in the laboratory here, and always hoped Id come back after I completed nursing school. Its a great place to work, and an excellent hospital to receive care!

Terrible service and very overpriced. Had simple CAT done 4/2019. Took 4hrs and was $2300 have the exact same procedure done at Via Christi for my cancer checkup and was $781. I called after I got their bill and was treated very badly. If I could give them a 0 I would.

THIS IS THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER! This hospital was informed before my arrival that I was coming and when we get into the door they had nothing ready. The ER doctors “taking care” of me had no idea that I just got ultrasounds done by THEIR own radiologist. They all seemed uneducated and were acting as if it was their first day. I do not recommend bringing your loved ones here during an emergency! Very disappointed.

My issues arent with quality of care. Its with the billing department. Two times I went to the er for what I felt were life threatening issues. Being a veteran, I presented my VA Id card and informed them to bill the VA as this hospital was the closest option. (Standard procedure) I later find out that the VA didnt get all the proper documentation and that my accounts were being threatened to be sent to collections. When I asked why they werent being paid I was told because the VA declined it. Called the VA and that was false. When I asked for them to send proper docs the billing department told me if I wanted the VA to pay, I would have to do it myself and take the documents to the proper channel. They also told me that they didnt want to call because they would be put on hold for too long. This is literally the same thing I would have to do, except Im not getting paid to do their job. Went to urgent care presented the same card and was seen with out being billed and no questions asked. Literally will never go back to WNH and all because their billing dep.

Make sure you follow up on your charges. Theres a good chance youre not being billed for the correct treatment or procedure. I dont know if thats the doctors and nurses being lazy or just incompetent. I wouldnt recommend coming here for anything except for delivering a baby or basic care. Definitely not a place to risk getting any kind of surgery done.

Family member in ER with respiratory difficulty due to pneumonia, is a cardiac patient who was 2 weeks out from acute stroke. He needed transferred to St Francis. I understand this process takes time. I work in ER. When family shows up you answer questions and foremost you take care of the patient!!! The poorest nursing care I have ever seen! Worst interaction with patients and visitors by staff. Huge disappointment WNH .

Am not impressed with the way my late 80 year old parents were treated. First off, yes they are battling bed bugs, yes we understand no one wants them. My dad was told to let the hospital know ahead of time so they could prepare for their visit. My dad called Monday so they could prepare for his Tuesday CT scan on his subdural hematoma. He was told no, his appointment was cancelled!

My Mom was transported by ambulance to the ER after a fall. We recieved the worst care. We were in the trauma area with 1 other patient. When Dr Hein came to give the granddaughter the test results he stood in the doorway to the trauma room and told her everything. HIPPA went completely out the window. Once they finally did my Moms x-rays and the wait for the results Dr. Hein came in and said that he wrist and hip were only bruised. Due to drug allergies he asked what she was able to take for pain. I felt like he thought she was their just for pain killers. Needless to say my Mom could not walk and we were sent home and when I asked my Mom how she was getting in the house not being able to walk the nurse told us to call 911 when we got home and the fire dept would do a lift assist. They never told her to follow up with primary or anything. She went to primary on Monday and her wrist had a compression fracture and Dr ordered a CT Scan. Well yes she had a broken hip. I called and talked to the ER supervisor about my concerns. I didnt know about the hip when I spoke to her. She said she would talk to the Dr and call me back. When I found out about the broken hip I called and left her another voicemail. Three weeks later no return call from our original conversation or my voicemail asking for her to call me.

As a medical provider (pediatrician) at this hospital, my review is as a worker and patient advocate. From this perspective, William Newton has a culture of doing the right things for patients. They are not perfect, but I find that they listen well and improve daily to offer excellent patient care. I do not work in the ER, and wanted to state such given the previous negative reviews about an ER experience.

Came into the ER was MAJOR pain in lower abdomen. Was there for 2.5 hours to have a UA done, blood drawn to check for infection, and given a pain pill and sent out the door. Did not receive an ultrasound or have any other diagnostic tests done to rule out any problems. What hospital just hands out a narco and sends you on your way? The reasoning for this is that the doctor on staff in the ER was a surgeon and doesnt know anything related to my pain.So why not run tests or call an OB thats on call? Stupid people, stupid doctor, and stupid diagnostic skills.

Im giving one star for the E.R. nurses that worked on November 26 2017.My husband traveled to Winfield to work.Had to send a patient to the ER dept w/o an ambulance so needed to give report to the nurses there. They said they couldnt understand him, which he speaks english very well. Were making jokes & laughing at him.Asked him what he wanted & after he explained everything she said whatever and hung up the phone on him.I dont know what type of rude, inconsiderate, self entitled women work in there but they need a lot of work if they think its ok to treat people that way.We are all human beings and deserve to be treated with respect. It turns out that the facility he was working at said they are like that all the time to everyone.Very sad.If they are not happy they should find a different profession.
