Awesome. Best bike shop I’ve been too recently. Great customer service and the staff is very knowledgeable about all aspects of bike repair. They even fix some things on the spot without making you leave your bike and come back weeks later.

This place is the best. The people are understanding pleasant and very easy to work with. They helped me keep my old bike on the road for little money. The shop is very cool too.

I have been here twice and they never fail to provide the best experience a person could expect. I ride a Scott gravel bike and can barely put air in the tires but I LOVE my bike. At Al Petri they take such great care to get me back on the road in no time. The technician Scott was so great I felt he deserved a tip- mt dew & energy drinks on me. Great work, prices, and service. I recently moved to the area, have been into the shop a couple of times and I have to say the customer service, experience, and advice given has been top notch both times. The first time I went in was just to check out the shop as it’s now the closest to me and grab a few items. Not only was I able to find in stock things I needed but Al took the time to discuss upgrades I was debating. Second trip into the shop was today for some tubeless rim tape. Despite being extremely busy Al was able to squeeze me in, tape up the rims, install the tires and again took time to discuss issues I was having regarding air loss in the tires prior. Always friendly, always helpful, incredibly knowledgeable.. highly recommend.

This was the first and certainly not the last time I will use Al Petri & Sons. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I brought in my 1987 Mongoose and they were able to help me restore it and bring it back to its glory. I will use Al Petri & Sons for all of my future bicycle needs

They were helpful every time I called during Covid. They put me on a list for a new easy step bike (if and when they arrived). I was thrilled to receive a text that they had received a limited number of bikes. I was there in less than 2 hours and purchased my new bike.

My 7 year old daughter was needing a new, bigger bike but was nervous because they’re so heavy for her. The staff was great, found her a bike that she loved and let her try it out so she was confident she could ride it at home. They found her a matching helmet and installed the water bottle holder we purchased for her...even gave her a free water bottle to fit in it! Very pleased with our experience and purchase!

I purchased my 2018 TREK Marlin 2 from Al Petri & Sons. This is a great bike! I had it serviced last year and the service went great.

[Highly recommend taking quality photos of the bike before service, for missing parts or damage]. Be advised that this place is not inexpensive, but does supply quality repairs. They also take Covid precautions seriously and that was appreciated. Next time trying a different repair shop.

I called them to see if they can fix my 2 bikes they said it will be 2to3 weeks I said that’s ok when I brought them in they looked at them and fixed them on the the spot!!! I took my wifes bike to get looked over to make sure it was safe. They looked over the bike and determined that it only needed some air in the tires and alignment of the front tire with the handle bars. I wasnt charged anything for the service. After seeing this type of customer service and honesty I decided that this is the place that I wanted to do business. I spoke with Robert Clark about bikes and he asked the right questions to help me determine what bike would be the best fit for me and showed me a few different bikes. I tried a few and came up with my choice. When I left I looked up the prices to similar bikes online and found their prices comparable. When you can get a quality item at a fair price and have this type of service it is a no brainer to purchase from a local shop with a solid reputation of honesty and service. These types of businesses are exceedingly rare these days. They just earned a customer for life.Thank You Al Petri and Sons for such a great experience.

Unreal, I stopped in here to see about getting just my back brakes adjusted,they were rubbing slightly against my wheel. There was No One in the Place,just 1 worker. I was told it would cost $26.00 and I could pick my bike up the next day. I rode my bike there,about a mile and left the same way!!! I have been to the: HUB,Metro,S.W. Bikes, I guarantee none of these places would have tried to Rape me Like this,all I can say is,WOW- Beware. Crime is not in the City of Detroit,when it comes to BICYCLES! Avid,Rider

I have been going to Al Petris since i was a kid for all my bicycle needs from parts to repairs to upgrades.they have a good selection to choose from. BMX,cruisers, low riders even speciality bicycles. Some really nice bikes.bought my sons bike there and just had it in for a tune up. Couldnt believe how affordable it was. Their bike techs do great work and the sales staff is fare and knowledgeable when it comes to buying a bike there. Nothing to say but great things about Al Petri & Sons Bicycles. I buy all my bikes here and get them serviced here. They do quality work and are very timely. Would not think of going anywhere else.

Customer service is not up to par ! I was there this past Saturday with my children. My 11-year-old has been saving for a new BMX bike. We were looking to test out a few, and see what he liked, and possibly purchase one. The two women in the store we’re setting up some jewelry, and acted as if though we were disturbing them. They did not offer us any help, only told us not to sit on the bicyclists. My oldest son is in wheelchair and there’s not a lot of room in the store. And we had a little incident where my daughter was pushing my sons wheelchair and bumped into a bike and a few of them fell over. I was mortified, but more importantly my daughter was so embarrassed she ran out of the store. As understandably the two women gasped and sighed very rudely and loudly, I Immediately started apologizing and picking up the bikes. Needless to say the two women were not happy. After my children and I assisted in picking up the few bikes we immediately left the store. My son was rather disappointed.The owner’s response was completely and utter asinine. But Nice try 😉

This is the only place I will have my bike serviced. My bike was expensive and with the intricate parts I would only come here. I drove my bike here from Florida to be serviced after hurricane ETA left its mark on it. Sounds silly? Not if you know Al.

I have purchased several bikes there over the last 40+ years. My wife and I both decided it was time for new bikes and Al Petri is where we want to shop. They primarily carry Trek and Giant brand bikes. My wife purchased a bike but they had to order the smaller frame size. The bike I wanted was not available yet. They called us a few days later to let us know my wifes bike was in. The next weekend we went to pick it up and to my pleasant surprise my bike had been delivered as well. Very helpful staff and very friendly. Highly recommend you shop there.

The worst experience ever, this man is only worried about making money and making up lies. I took my bike in to get the kickstand tighten up and he told me I would have to buy a new one and the one I have is a new one. He also wanted to charge me $7 to fix it even if I bought a new one from him, not to mention I also bought a bike rack and had him pit it on and he charged me $10 to install it.I took it to the bike store near me and the man put everything on for free. I will never go back here, what bike shop charges people that buy their products labor cost? The man also tightens my kickstand and I never needed a new one. This man is a thief so your being warned.

I purchased a new Benno from Al and his family owned bike shop. It took one minute to figure out that doing business with this place was well with the mild 60 dollar difference between their price and either a box delivered to the house or driving 40 miles each way to a big box place that had the same bike on sale.....they were very very nice and helped me out with everything. Oddly it was so non-sales oriented that I was impressed. Shop local and get great service. Id be very very sad if the other option to buy a bike was to go to Walmart or Meijer or Sams club downriver.

This place over charges people to repair minor problems plus sell their bikes for wayyyyyyy tooo much money, dont know how theyre still in business... i recommend buying bikes at walmart..

I have shopped just about every bike store in the metro detroit area and i can tell you that this shop has the best customer service in the area. ALL of my bikes get serviced there, their mechanics and staff are actually trained and have years of experience. They have a variety of bikes for any recreation your looking for. And the only shop that carries custom cruiser and lowrider bikes and parts (atleast that i know of), for all you slow rollers. But dont let the lowriders fool ya, i also take my carbon fiber race bike to get serviced there. They really know their stuff. History dont lie... there is a reason this place has been in buisness for so long. check it out you wont be sorry

I havent been in there in many years last time i was there i was 15 i brought a fat slick tire chopper fork ape hangers and a sissy bar for my ross 3speed barracuda turn it into a chopper.. the man with a curly end mustache was cool lol i will be in there shortly my son wants to custom is bmx bike and al petri and sons in lincoln park was first to my mind

Took my bike in for servicing on the chain. Got it back nothing changed. I was told by the owner the chain rub was from the from derailleur witch was their to straighten the chain. So i took it home and out for a ride i could not shoft into 1rst gear or could not do 6th gear low friction. So after about 1/2 hour of youtube videos i fixed it myself. Guess im just out the 22$ i paid them for nothing. Maybe ill try the other location next time
