I have been a patient of the Hearing Advancement Center (Shannon) for probably 20 years now? I have never dealt with a more competent or caring member of the health care field!!! I drive 2 hours ONE WAY to go to the Hearing Advancement Center - so there has to be a pretty big reason to drive that far, and my reason is its just plain worth it!!!I lead a very active lifestyle and I cant let my hearing slow me down or leave me out, and thats why I appreciate everything they do for me - Im extremely appreciative and grateful for all the help Ive received there over the years.

I am so pleased with the hearing aids I just picked up from Shannon Christen at Heaving Advancement Center in Woodinville. Dr. Christen was so willing to explain everything, and she was patient in helping me practice putting them on for the first time, over and over until I got it right.

I have been wearing hearing aids for over 30 years. There are two things I have learned: (1) the audiologist you choose is more important than the equipment you choose (all of the equipment is pretty good) and (2) the best audiologist, by far, that I have found is Dr. Shannon Christen at Hearing Advancement Center. Because she is not an employee or an agent for a particular manufacturer, she can acquire hearing aids from all of the major manufacturers at excellent prices. Because of her long experience in the hearing aid business and her knowledge and understanding of the equipment, she has fitted me with excellent solutions for over nine years. It has definitely been worth the drive to her office in Woodinville.

Hearing advancement is one of the few locations in our area to provide service to Tru Hearing pricing clients. I was pleased to be able to combine that with my insurance coverage. The monetary saving was great but the personal attention was even better. The process to determine which instrument best met my areas of profound hearing loss and my lifestyle was done with the expected tests, many questions and intense listening by the audiologist.When the day I got my new hearing aids arrived in the late stages of the fitting I commented to my wife my voice sounds loud when I spoke while the audiologist was in her lab to get the right cable to fit me. She came back telling me it sounded like she needed to program one last adjustment before I left. Appointments easy to get. I again can laugh at the jokes at the movies, hear the songs at the theatre as well as join discussions with individuals or in groups easily. An audiologist who listened means I again in my 80s can hear in the many situations I engage. Hearing Advancement Center is a wonderful addition to our Top Doc medical team. I could ask for nothing better in the experience or the results.

It is somewhat stressful to get evaluated, fitted, and to wear hearing aids for the first time. I can only say good things about my experience at this facility and about this doctor. Professional, thorough, compassionate, knowledgeable, efficient- and all with excellent improvement in my hearing! A life changer for the better, I am thankful.

Shannon is excellent. Ive been to several Doctors of Audiology and found her to be extremely knowledgeable, honest and is great at taking care of your needs promptly. She actually found and corrected several things others have not uncovered. It made a world of difference for me. I highly recommend you make an appointment with her!

Ive worn hearing aids for 28 years now and recently bought my fourth set at Hearing Advancement Center. Given I have 50% hearing loss in both ears, I am very picky with my hearing aids. I was very impressed with Shannon. She is very knowledgeable, professional yet personable, and provides great service. The hearing aids fit is very comfortable and the sound quality is excellent. The hearing aids have high value--you really get what you pay for--and I strongly recommend Hearing Advancement Center to anyone needing anything from hearing tests to new hearing aids.

Tried calling to ask about insurance and getting an appointment and they wouldn’t help at all. They said they have no idea of what insurance is acceptable. How do you not know any insurance that your company accepts? Not helpful at all.

I have been a client since Shannon began practicing in the mid 90s. I have followed her fro Bellevue to Woodinville and now come in from Federal Way. She has kept me hearing all those years! The best!

Dr. Shannon Christen was knowledgeable and energetic to resolve my wax-plugged ear. I received her full attention and had plenty of time to ask questions. She even correctly anecdotally guessed the cause (I apparently sleep on my stomach, same side of my head, every night). Being able to hear clearly again is life-changing, so this is my new favorite doctors office.Im in my 30s, but an elderly gentleman in the waiting room confirmed after hearing my story before my appointment She knows her stuff. Youre in good hands.

Excellent service and availability

I was born with severe hearing loss in both ears and I have been wearing hearing aids for 43 years. From analogs to digitals I have wore them all. However, I waited the last 12 years to get new ones because I could not afford them until October 2013. I tried two different pairs from Costco...you get what you pay for, and the their audiologists did not fully know how to adjust digital hearing aids. Went to Hearing and Balance Center in Mill Creek..audiologist there slapped a brochure in front of me about the most powerful hearing aids from Oticon. The audiologist said they are “Dutch!” and would cost me over $5,000 for the pair. They didn’t even do a hearing test, but instead wanted to use my Costco test. Unprofessional and unfriendly!I want a “Honda” and not a “Ferrari” when it comes to cost.Frustrated, I finally met Shannon at Hearing Advancement Center in Woodinville. She did a thorough hearing test and compared it to the Costco test that came up with some small differences. She set me up with the standard digital BTEs with full ear molds because which I have been always use to for the last 43 years. She tried every adjustment to make them work but to no avail. She finally set me up with RICs which I am not use to but they were the solution. Hearing aids have certainly changed in the last 12 years. After 9 months, trying 4 pairs, and 2 other vendors...I am very happy with Hearing Advancement Center.Shannon is very knowledgeable with a wide variety of brands and very familiar with the different types of hearing loss . She knows how to get in those computerized hearing aids and can make the slightest adjustment that will make a world of difference in your hearing. Plus, she will never give up on you and I got a “Honda” for the right price and was not gouged. To summarize, Shannon knows her trade well, affordable, and never gives up on you! I won’t be waiting so long for my next pair and when the time comes I will be heading over to Hearing Advancement Center.
