As a carnivore i am here to proclaim you can absolutely leave this place not wanting anything else because its just hits on all notes regarding diner eats. the mac and cheese is rich and flavorful and really good with the broccoli. the burger is honestly one of the best burgers ive ever had and was also really good cold a couple hours later, love that. mozzarella sticks were too cheesy for me but if you love mozzarella then its probably gonna hit you where ya want it. cauliflower was perfectly cooked and the ranch was bomb. been waiting to come here for a while and it was well worth it.
One of our favorite vegan diners in NYC. The few times that we have visited Champs we have not had one thing to complain about. We even got lucky and found parking on the block which is very rare in NY. My favorite sandwich is the Cuban. The shakes are delicious and worth trying especially the mint chocolate chip one. We didnt like the mozzarella sticks that much but everything else was so good, I cant wait to go back
Mouthwatering, plant-based perfection. There’s no better place for vegan comfort food in Brooklyn imho. As vegans, it’s amazing to find a full diner like this that takes pride in what they serve.I ordered the Buffalo Chik’in Sandwich and split the Macaroni and Cheeze, with a Nut Cruncher milkshake. Thoughts?-Chick’n Sandwich was perfection. I loved every bite of it.-Macaroni and Cheeze was even more delicious the day after. I’m thinking that it should be ordered double cooked, next time I go.-Milkshake was the weakest link. Mine wasn’t frozen and I left most of it on the table.Bottom line: Come in person or order online. This place is legit amazing.
Great vegan restaurant to go to. Friendly staff. I had their Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes (cinnamon Pancakes, cream cheese icing, candied pecans). Its nice to be able to have breakfast for dinner 😎🌱Outdoor and indoor seating available, but when I went they had select hours for indoor seating - call first!.My girlfriend and I also ordered some food to go. The best things we had were; Their bacon cheeseburger, Champs Philly Cheese Steak, Nut Cruncher shake, and their strawberry shake 🤤.The vegan bacon and vegan cheese used were veryyyyy close to the real thing.
Not the best but not the worst. It was a little bland in comparison to many other vegan chicken sandwiches I have had. I would maybe get it again if I was in the area but it is not go out of your way worthy unfortunately. I had this while visiting a friend in Williamsburg and was really excited because I used to live in the area 7 years ago when there weren’t many vegan diners and would frequently order from Champs. At the time I thought Champs was amazing but now with so many vegan options I would say it could be better.
Omg my new fave vegan joint in NYC!!! The chicken and waffles had us come back twice. The mix with Kale and Mustard is an unexpected Savory but Sweet and we loved it!!! Id give the place 6 stars if I could.
Wire goes well with breakfast. This place is a must visit every time I’m around and since it’s been over a yard since the last time, I’m definitely feeling that nostalgia and craving. So many brunching options, difficult to decide but everything has always worked out for me in the end. Can’t wait to return...look how happy this guy is
Really Good Service, The Food here is Delicious and Fresh. They have a Nice Variety of Whatever American Platters you like from the Best Breakfast to The Best Lunch Things, the People here are Good Workers and Treat you with Respect. COME AND ENJOY!!!!! Their Breakfast looks Super Nice and Everything is Fresh here. 😋🤗
The server was great but the quality of the food was definitely not worth the cost. The fake meat (I’m vegan) was inedible, like tough plastic, couldn’t bite through the layers of it. Maybe it was a one time thing, but I will not be going back.
I was only hungry enough for one Bananarama pancake...I thought. To yummy to resist.
I want to like this place but it just falls short. I first picked up food here a few months ago, my friend and I both got pancakes and wings. The wings were very good and I enjoyed my pancakes but my friends order was underdone. Last night I ordered a cubano and was surprised to find brown (not yellow) mustard slathered on both sides of the bread. It does say this on the menu and I couldve looked closer but this is just an unusual choice that hides the other flavors in the sandwich that were quite good. The sandwich also wasnt pressed which is definitely noted on the menu and is characteristic of a cubano. For the price I dont think I would try it again after two so-so experiences
I went here for my sisters birthday. I didnt know it was a vegan diner until I got there. I ordered the mozzarella sticks, cauliflower chicken and the bacon egg and cheese. I was not a fan of the mozzarella sticks because they had a very different (gooey-like) cheese consistency, but the cauliflower chicken was actually pretty good. I was also not a fan of the bacon egg and cheese sandwich because I felt it had a salty, burned flavor to it. The service was a little awkward while entering, but our actual server was the sweetest girl. While I wouldnt choose to return- both of my sisters LOVEEE the place. So if you like vegan food- this may still be the place for you!
Be prepared to pay a premium. Very overpriced for the value and food. Lots of options. Friendly staff. Classic American diner style with booths and black and white tiles. The interior was excellent. The food sometimes takes a bit to come out. They do have a name to back them, allowing them to charge a premium. $11 for a “Sausage Egg & Cheese” is wild. They have slices of cake for $7, kinda crazy.
The food was phenomenal, the customer service was off the charts and the prices were reasonable. They definitely made my birthday special. I enjoyed my day. Cant stop raving about them. Thanks Champs Diner!!!
The food is flavorful and amazing. I am not vegan and everything tasted normal to me. The was delicious and there was not any compromise in the taste. This place was an awesome find and I would definitely come back if I am in the area. The line can get pretty long so I would suggest getting there early. The staff was super friendly and accommodating.
I live for this breakfast burrito. Clientele can be on the younger annoying side but the food is great. Love the atmosphere otherwise.
The worst attitude from manager and nastiest bathroom Ive ever experienced. I cant wait for my wife to share the video. The food wasnt that great to respond to the ones that patronize your establishment. Wouldve gave no stars but the woman that waited on the table was nice....
Champs lives up to the hype! I had the Reuben sandwich and it was by far the most authentic Reuben I have ever had. From the rye bread to the chopped seitan to the cheez, dressing and sauerkraut it was all delicious. The mozzarella sticks are a must if you visit Champs. My friend had the bacon cheeseburger and it was grilled to perfection. The cookie dough sundae was as good as it looks. And the service was too notch and friendly. Also very quick. The dining area is not big but we ate there on a Thursday night around 9:00 pm and had no wait time.
10/2/2021: had the jalapeño poppers, buffalo chick’n sandwich, and nut cruncher shake…it was all excellent!Update 10/19/21: had the Philly Cheese Steak and Tofu Poppers…also delicious 😋
The Gyro with extra sauce will change your life!Love the mac n cheese with the works. This place is the closest I’ve had to “baked Mac. My favorite item which I just wish they would bring back is the cheeseburger wontons. The cauliflower wings are yummy. And if you’re into milkshakes, this is definitely the place to go.
Such good food! Staff was cool. Restaurant was chill and laid back cool vegan spot
Stopped here on my way back to the airport. I just knew I had to have Champs Diner before I headed home. Everything here at Champs is delicious. I couldn’t even finish half of my burger. I wish I ordered something smaller hahaha so I could have more room to try more food from Champs menu. I will definitely come back here again.
I was so excited to try the food but was very disappointed by the service. I understand the whole vaccination thing so my partner and I were told to sit outside. I ordered my food and literally waited for about 40 mins for our food. I felt like because I was outside I wasnt a priority, while people inside were accommodated, other wise the food was okay. I guess I have to be vaccinated to have decent service lol.
Staff is very friendly and food was extremely good 😌 coming back sometime soon 😜
I got there 10 minutes before they opened on a Sunday and there was already a line, so I knew it would be good. They do keep some tables for walk-ins (but not many, so make sure youre first in line!) and were super sweet and kind about trying to accommodate everyone. Delicious food, lovely people.
After a hunger-inducibgly long wait to get a table we were rewarded with some amazingly solid veganized breakfast foods, junk foods, and health foods. We tried a bit of it all and loved everything. Mozzarella sticks and wings started us off followed by delicious healthy bowls and some eggs Benedict. Topping it off with some milkshakes we waddled away extremely happy. Cant wait to get back here!
Delicious vegan food that doesn’t even taste vegan! The food here is absolutely great and very tasty. The French fries are to die for and the Philly cheese steak is so big you’re going to need to share it with someone. The milkshakes and everything else on the menu is pretty great too. Large portions! Might have to wait sometimes because of how busy and popular the place is!
YOU WONT BE ALLOWED ENTRANCE AND WILL NEVER GET YOUR FOODThe restaurant was empty and we were denied a table for our party of 5. We were forced to order takeout and sit outside on the street. Not to mention, we were the first group here and our order has not come out after an hour and fifteen minutes. Everybody else has been served. This place is a literal joke, and I don’t even care how bad the food is going to be.
CHEESE STICKS are the best. I also had the spicy grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado. On a sesame seed bun. Which came with a side of fries. A single pastry on the side soft and delicious. Thank you M and JACKIE. Good customer service. Nice seating area. There isn’t room if you’re waiting for a seat or for a take out order this place is very busy. Good thing there is a covered waiting area outside, but that isn’t that big. The restroom is very small, but the walls r creative.
Had some seriously amazing banana chocolate pancakes with a side of tofu scramble and what looked like Field Roast sausage. Amazing.
Food was okay, but poorly seasoned. Best thing in the standard vegan breakfast was the pancakes. Weird choice to not incorporate chocolate chips into the batter and just sprinkle a few on top? $4 lemonade was a bit pricey. Not the worst, but it was underwhelming.
I dont know how I was talked into coming here... However, it was a good experience. The staff was attentive, and polite. The wings were delicious & so was the French fries. The lemonade was superb! I had the power owl with chicken it was good but I didnt get the chicken.. mentioned it and was told looks like they forgot it.. anyhow, they brought it out but I was full and had it the next day. It was ok. Not a huge fan of vegan food but the wings lemonade, and fries would definitely be a winner for me.
I’m not a fan of vegan food, but my friend is vegan and made the reservation. I was pleasantly surprised. Champs offers a wide variety of meals that are vegan, but you could swear you’re actually eating meat. The staff was really great and helpful in offering suggestions. You won’t be disappointed, even if you’re not a vegan.
One of my favorite spots. Perfect for firsts dates, hangouts, and ordering in!
One of the main stops on my trip to New York - this is the most magical dining experience for a vegan! They have all of the classics and amazing breakfast!!! We ate here for breakfast each day we were here and for dinner!!It was so amazing to have these types of options veganized! Like a breakfast plate with sausage and bacon or a milkshake with mozzarella sticks. I dream about this place . When I come back to New York this will be my first stop!!!
Ive been following this place on Instagram for months and recently moved closer and have finally been able to try this place. It was hard to find at first. No good signage but once we found it we were happy! I had the biscuits and gravy for breakfast and my girlfriend had the chicken and waffles. Mine was pretty salty but still very yummy and hers was delicious. It was early so we had breakfast only. I would love to try this place for lunch. 👌🏽 Loved the atmosphere too!
Went here for breakfast with 2 friends (one of whom has been before) and it was lovely, the place looks just like a diner that youve seen on the telly, all chrome and booths. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the food... Wow.I ordered a cookie dough shake and a hungover hippie which was a selection of lightly fried veggies on a massive home made hash brown. This was brilliant, beautiful flavours and so very filling. My friends had a burrito and coffee (bottomless) which is as endless as it implies. Pricing seems very reasonable and the whole feel of the place is very welcoming and lovely.
Champs might have the best vegan comfort food in the country. Ive been to multiple vegan friendly cities and this is one of my all time favorite spots to go. The Reuben, Cubano, and Cheesesteak are all really freakin good (Reuben is my favorite sandwich ever). Also try a pancake for dessert (cinnamon swirl and cookie dough are both awesome).
I visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and waited a little over an hour, which is just over what the lady working the seats warned me. There is limited seating outside but they offer ice cold water while you wait. Upon checking in, theyll get your name, party number, and phone number so they can text you when your table is ready. There is an app you can download to view your place in line, but its not necessary. Once seating, the waiter quickly and politely handed out menus and asked for starters. The wait for food was reasonable and my order tasted great. The spinach artichoke dip tasted amazing and I was offered extra crostinis at no additional charge. The birthday cake shake tasted amazing and was so fulfilling I couldnt even finish it. The bathroom is unisex and very tiny, but kept clean. Overall a great visit, Id definitely stop by again and wait an hour if I had to.
3 stars for disappointment. I have a gluten allergy and used to be able to eat all sorts of things on the menu. Now i can get plain french fries, tots or a salad. No more bowls- not even an option for the sandwiches. So sad i cant come here anymore. :(
Amazing! I cant stop thinking about this pancake 🤤. The cauliflower was also some of the best Ive ever had. The philly was really not good at all though. Didnt taste like anything at all. Tried dowsing in hot sauce, didnt help.
Saw HAIR in my food. Staff had an attitude with me. The food does not taste the best. This was the worst vegan restaurant Ive ever went to.
Comfortable small BK diner that holds more than it appears to. Food is good vegan..staff is cool and courteous with a goth rocker type edge. will come back.
So good! Had an oat latte and breakfast platter. They make vegan food taste amazing. Tofu scramble was very well seasoned, the bacon was awesome, and sausage was sort of sweet but I liked it. The fresh toast was wonderful as well. A bit pricey, but I really liked the food and will definitely come back. Service was also great.
All vegan diner? Pinch me. I cant come to Brooklyn without stopping here. Ive had so many things from the menu and every single one is amazingly flavorful, fresh, and well prepared. The service is great and staff is super friendly. There are waits at times and its a little cramped inside but its Brooklyn so thats understandable. Street parking is easy to find after 6pm even on weekends.
Best diner food a jersey girl could ask for
Really amazing FULLY VEGAN diner with everything to make you stuffed with all-American comfort food. I had the tater tots and mozzarella sticks, really rich and just a tad bit too greasy but still satisfying. And the slam dunk breakfast plate which comes with scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausages, bacon and choice of pancakes, waffles or biscuit. Amazing how real the bacon tastes...and everything else was spot on. So much food, I definitely had plenty to take home. Service is nice and efficient. Try to go during slower times to get a table without the wait!
Nice place for comfort food in Brooklyn. Fyi- the wait can be up to 2hrs on the weekends.
Definitely a vegans DREAM COME TRUE!!! Their food is simple but so tastefully flavorful. I got their Lucky Bowl and substituted the cabbage for cauliflower and felt just nourished to every cell in my body. The ambience is very casual and the servers are super friendly. I will definitely be back whenever I am in the neighborhood!
I have been really wanting to try this vegan diner so while in Brooklyn I was determined to give it a try. The restaurant didnt open until 12pm so decided to order online at about 11:15am. I ordered the BLT and vegan milkshake with oreos. It came to about $22. On the website it said it will be ready by 12:15. When I got there it was about 11:55 and it looked empty. At about 12:05 I seen movement and a line of people start to arrive. I got out my car, which I illegally parked becauae of no parking, and waited. Asked the girl how long it would take and she said 15 to 20 mins. I waited about 30 mins or so which was annoying. My food finally came out and I left.As I was driving home I started to drink the milkshake and this is the main reason I am giving the restaurant 4 stars. It was sooooo good. The best vegan shake I have ever had. When I got home I ate the sandwich and it wasnt bad at all. I would try something different next time.
Delicious vegan diner, service was really fast despite it being busy. The food really was telling to why the place is busy, its really good especially if youre feeling buzzed (whatever your vice is!). Its decently priced, dinner with desert and beverages per person averages around $30. Enjoy!
The food is super tasty, the coffee is great. Overall it might be a bit pricey but I think its well worth it. The staff is really nice. 100% recommended.
I used to come here all the time but recently went again post COVID and its not what it used to be. Hope it makes a comeback!! The burgers and tatertachos used to be awesome. This time it was a stale burger bun and the Nashville chicken was not even close to crunchy. Disclaimer its been some major humidity as of late.
Incredible place, the vegan dream. Highlight for Seitan Asada appetizer, Mac n cheese with extra bacon and the delicious milkshake of Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip. Liked it so much we went twice. Excellent service and wonderful food. They sell reusable metal straw for $ 3. There is no wifi.
The best diner in Williamsburg a secret spot hidden in plain site I loved the vegan cheese burger with all the condiments and the Nashville chicken was incredible the best vegan menu I have every tasted I recommend a visit the strawberry milk shake is worthy of a trip
I love it here. The food is great and an awesome choice for vegan options. We ordered through an app though and they forgot three entrees of ours. Dont know how but I guess it is because they are always so super busy and they business is well deserved. Highly suggest Champs. Get a Milkshake!
PHENOMENAL!!! Made a trip into Brooklyn just for this epic legandary gem! Did not disappoint!!! Eggs Benedict and loaded tots have ruined me for life. Thanks Champs for making my dreams come true.
Please do not mistaken this palate place as a regular diner ( usually do not eat at diners). OMG the food is delicious to say the least!!! And the fact that is a vegan place 😁😁. The waitress was friendly and patient and knowledgeable of ingredients and preparation of the foods. Please check out Champs food is palatable for transitioning to veganism.Nachos, cheeseburger with bacon and fries, cheese sticks, root beer float, s’mores sundae and a latte
I took one bite of my vodka chicken parm and got a rush of euphoria... I wish I could give the food 6 stars.
AMAZING Vegan/Vegetarian food! The food taste amazing even if youre not on any of those diets! I had the Chikn Biscuit with a smoothie and it was so yummy! The place is busy so I recommend getting there early and if youre going with others, having your whole party ready to be seated so you dont have to wait in the little porch or outside. Highly recommend!
I ate all this food all by myself 5/5 gr8
Best diner food and the tots/philly cheesesteak was amazing.
Some items a bit pricey but everything is very tasty
Amazing vegan diner. Hands down the best meals we had on our trip to NYC (had to go more than once). Great service as well, highly recommended 😊
Great place for vegan fast food, milkshakes and sundaes. Food was awesome. Philly Cheesesteak, fries, Cauliflower Firewings, nachotatars and burgers. Hip, small, cozy atmosphere.
Amazing vegan takes on classic diner food. Enjoyed every dish and the staff were very nice and helpful. The restaurant has a first-come-first-served policy and doesnt take reservations so during busy hours there could be a long waiting time to get a table.
*disclaimer/confession: I am not a vegan, I am a meat eating omnivore and not usually into Vegan Cuisine.Champs Diner is a Vegan restaurant that reconstructs traditional meat dishes aiming capture their essence with amazing flavors.Their A La Vodka chicken was one of the most delicious sauces Ive ever had with a vegan ricotta that was mind-bendingly good.I also tried a fantastic vegan Philly Cheesesteak. Aiming to capture the east coast classic, it is a delicious meatless alternative.Service was fast and the staff was really attentive. I look forward to trying the other entries on their menu- and as a meat-lover who usually shies away from Vegan and Vegitarian cuisine, that is really surprising to say.
Cozy spot with an all vegan menu that does not disappoint. I opted for the fried “chicken” sandwich and was very impressed! The flavors were amazing, and the texture of the patty gave this sandwich a satisfying bite. Highly recommend!
Champs is a small place but wow does their menu pack a punch. The Benedict was delicious, I would come back just for that. The caulifire wings were packed with flavor. The totchos were a perfect symphony of yumminess. Took a mac and cheese to go for dinner and even that was some of the best ive had. Cant wait to come back and get even more Vegan comfort food. Please dont change a thing!!
I ordered the philly cheese steak. By far the best sandwich Ive had in a looooooooonnnnnngggg. Im in Connecticut and if you delivered to my locale youd have a customer for life.
