Chris is great!! My daughter came in for 4 piercings in one sitting, Chris got her in and out as professional as can be. Will definitely be back for any other piercing needs.

Chris was amazing with my girls ear piercings! He was very, kind, patient & talked to them & explained to them everything that was going to happen. When my youngest started to panic, he walked her through it. All were nervous, but he made them feel comfortable. It was very much appreciated! Theyre so happy & so am I! I cannot remember her name, but the woman at the front desk was amazing too! Very kind, kept us updated with wait times, and made sure we understood the cleaning process. I would recommend here.

I made an appointment almost a whole week prior to the tattoo date. I also gave them the art I wanted done while making the appointment. My appointment was set for 12:30 and here I am sitting now in the waiting area STILL and it’s 1:45. I wanted to get my cousin something nice for her wedding before her honeymoon and now she is going to be late to it because the artist needs to sketch it out even though they had a whole week to do it. I also have a five hour drive back to ohio and I had things I needed to do in Ohio today but those plans have now changed due to time management.

I came in, happy to get my labret done, about 10 months ago. The official piercer was too lazy to do it himself, so he pawned me off to a trainee who has never even pierced anyone before. Very unprofessional, she lied and said she’s done it before, she pierced me and struggled with my lip for TEN MINUTES. I’m not even kidding. I started to get antsy. I was getting angry but tried to keep my cool and she’d keep saying “almost done”. Finally she gave up and had the guy come in, he was rude and seemed upset she was so horrendous at her job. He ended up REPIERCING me because she messed around with it too much to the point where it straight up closed.**I have been doing aftercare for 10 months now, and it STILL HASN’T HEALED.** Don’t give these guys service. It was awful.

I am partial to this studio, my best friend is a resident artist here. But all that aside, I love these studios. That artists are extremely talented and the atmosphere is great.

Chris did my piercings. It was very busy, I waited about an hour, but it was Tuesday, which they lower cost of piercings that day, so I wasnt too surprised. But staff was very friendly, which isnt something I am used to in tattoo ships. They all had great customer service skills.

I was nervous they’d be mean at a place like this bc I’ve never really gotten piercings but they were SO NICE and patient even though it was busy. Very professional and clean. I can only speak for the piercings, but me and my friends had a great experience and I cannot recommend this place enough

Absolutely LOVED getting tattooed by Roger! He made me feel super comfortable going in. I’ve got plenty of tattoos and I’ve never felt so relaxed and comfortable as I did when roger did my tattoo! I was super nervous but he’s super light handed and it didn’t hurt at all! 100% recommend getting tatted by him!

The tattoo guy and piercing were great. The customer service could have been better. The wait time they quote you is never right. They told me 40 min and it was actually 1 hour and 32 min that I waited. Which would have been ok if they quoted me the correct time because I had other plans. I sat and listen to the lady at the counter give 3 customers different information on what the requirements were for minors. She told me one thing and told 2 other people at different times 2 more different things. So I wasn’t sure if she was new or just pick and choosing who she wants to service.

Very fast service, in and out pretty much. After care instructions were clear and given on paper as well as verbally. Clean store, and kind staff. My piercings look great, and I got instructions on how to heal some botched helixes I got at a different piercing place. Definitely will go back

I want to start of this review by saying this is not a bad tattoo shop. I’m sure there are great and experienced tattoo artists and piercers here. Unfortunately I did not have a great experience and I am writing this review so that people can be informed about the artists they go to so what happened to me doesn’t happen to anyone else. My friend and I went into this shop to get 2 tattoos each - one of which was a matching tattoo that was an outline of a rectangle. The only person available to do tattoos was Terry. He didn’t really give us great vibes when we were telling him what we wanted, and gave us kind of a bad attitude. As the night went on he did get more friendly. I went first and got both of my tattoos. Everything seemed fine and I was really happy with it when I left the store. A couple of days later I noticed that my rectangle tattoo was not healing like any other tattoo I’ve ever had (I have 10) and it was concerning me. The area around the tattoo became really red and where the ink was on my tattoo was very bumpy. I followed after care instructions as I always do. After the redness subsided, my tattoo almost became white in color, I’m assuming because it was trying to heal. It was very dry and wasn’t peeling like my other tattoos have, so I went to a different tattoo shop to have them take a look at my arm. The tattoo artist I spoke to informed me that Terry went too deep into my arm with the needle, which would cause extreme blowout of the ink (the ink went into a deeper layer of the skin then it should have because of the pressure that Terry was hold the gun to my arm, and when you go to a deeper layer of skin, there is water there and when the water mixes with the ink, it makes the ink blur and expand) and now that it has been a few months I can absolutely see the blowout. The areas where ink is supposed to be is very patchy because the ink spread, and the line which was supposed to be thin, is thick and very uneven. Along with this, the part of my arm that has the tattoo on it, though it’s been 3 months, is still raised almost like a scar - the tattoo artist I spoke to told me that would never go away. I will be getting it retouched to hopefully hide the blowout, but I just want people to be aware of this before getting tattooed by Terry. I don’t know if this was a fluke or if he was just being careless, but this whole situation has been a nightmare. The reason I give it 2 stars instead of 1 was because Chris, the manager, was ultimately extremely helpful in trying to remedy the situation. It did take a few months, but we were able to resolve things and he was very helpful. Like I said, I don’t think this is a bad tattoo shop, but I would use caution before getting tattooed by Terry.

Im giving one star (would give 0 if I could) to one specific artist here. I do not recommend allowing Terry to give you a tattoo. My roommate and I went here over the summer to get tattoos together (simple lettering), and we left crying. Im not sure if Terry realizes this but tattoos are permanent; SO if you are NOT confident or unable to do something, JUST SAY THAT. I would much rather have had him be honest with me than to give me a bad tattoo. Not to mention, he was shaking like a literal leaf when he started, and dragged the needle so hard into my skin. My roommates tattoo looks like a 12 year old boy wrote it, and it ended up not being able to be fixed completely. Side note: I even discussed my concerns to the person working the front desk and the MANAGER prior to seeing Terry and they ASSURED me that he has been working for them for a long time, and that he just got back from a break... HMMM, weird. Im sharing this information because I dont want this happening to anyone else. I dont mean to be harsh here, but as I said before, tattoos are permanent. If you are not confident in your ability to do something, DONT DO IT.

2 for Tuesday is a great deal, but total chaos. Have to wait inside, in close quarters or lose your spot in line. Rude and overworked employees. Not helpful with questions. Wont answer questions over the phone. Tell you that you have to come in person to get answers. Very unprofessional. Would rather pay full price and get the attention something like this deserves, if thats possible.

Originally gave them a 4 star, edited to a 1 star after i had to make an emergency visit to a different piercing shop for help. I will not recommend screaming needle to any of my friends for piercings. For starters, i wasnt told by the piercer what gauge or length the post was, and the post was too short for my naturally thick lip. When i went back for shorter posts, i wasnt sized, i was just handed the jewelry.Two weeks is not enough time before downsizing and changing your jewelry, thus causing irritation. Soap should not be applied directly to the piercing while its healing. four weeks after i got it pierced, i swelled more than i did when i initially got it pierced, and had to go to a different shop to get longer posts. The piercer there was much more informative and clearly knew how to do his job and take care of his customer. I left feeling so much more comfortable and didnt have to end up removing the piercing. Get more educated employees please

I got my first body piercing in April and Gideon was very reassuring, walked me through the entire process and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a piercing.

Great first experience for a tattoo newbie. Place was very clean, people were friendly and helpful, we were able to get done in an hour as a walk-in, the work was good, & the price reasonable.

I originally rated 5 stars but had to change it to 1 star after today. i had gotten a nose stud there which fell out. i came back in and they couldnt repierce until its completely healed, so i had them pierce the other side of my nose. that one i took extra precautions with yet it still fell out within a few months. all of which is fine since the person that did my piercing was super nice. but today i came in the wyoming location to get both sides of my nose pierced again since its been almost a year. i waited 45 minutes just for them to tell me my piercings werent healed. i waited 45 minutes for something that took 1 minute. they should prioritize those getting piercings first. they only do walk ins for piercings so you usually have to wait behind 5-6 other customers that are getting tattoos. i asked if i could pierce my ears instead since i waited so long, and they didnt have any ear jewelry available until apparently later today. all they could offer me was a sorry. also my belly button piercing is crooked. literally slanted to one side.

I got a septum piercing and my daughter got her ears pierced and the piercer was very professional and have us both reasonable expectations of pain and healing time that were spot on. All piercings healed very quickly. My daughter lost an earring and had to have the hole opened again and they were incredibly considerate and kind. I will get all my piercings here.

Their was a lot of people their so I waited in line for about one hour and 20 min that were fast clean and polite

Everyone was really nice and professional. Chris did an excellent job with my septum and Monroe. I had alot of compliments on them at work and from friends and family. Would recommend going I had a wait due to first come first serve although it is definitely worth the wait.

The artist was very informative on the after care of my tattoo. They are organized and professional. I left another tattoo parlor to have my tat done amd I am so glad.

I appreciated how nice the staff was, but unfortunately there wasn’t much of a selection of nose jewelry. The jewelry I was recommended to pick from was too big and did not fit correctly. Overall, pretty disappointed.

I believe this was my second or third time getting a piercing here. Theyre always very professional and nice. Everything is very clean, and Covid precautions are in place. Always recommend the team at Screaming Needle in Wyoming.

I just got a tattoo there today and I had Rodger and his work was absolutely wonderful I could have not had a better tattoo artist do my tattoo for me because it is a memorial tattoo for my husband and I couldnt be happier with it so if anybody wants to get a tattoo done I would suggest asking for Rodger his work is absolutely amazing

Great customer service! Process ran smooth with getting nose pierced. I was bummed the special is only good for one person! I really thought how cool 2 nose piercings for $30...but wrong. Better read fine print when dealing with specials.

My husband (40s) and niece (30s) went to the shop in Grand Rapids and they both got labret piercings. My nieces pulled through her lip because they used way to small of a stud and my husbands split his lip because they used a small ring. She removed hers and he had to go to another shop to get it fixed (the shop he went to was horrified at his piercing splitting his lip on the inside.) They also both got septum piercings which are fine, but again, tiny rings. Not complaining about professionalism or attitudes as they were very friendly, I just wouldnt recommend getting piercings here, especially ones that may swell. Their piercer was Chris. I gave 3 stars because my daughter got septum and nose find and theyre doing good.

But it worked in my favor because the new artist was who I original wanted ANYWAYS.2 for $30 piercings are CRAZY and its a long, but way worth it, wait. However I dont recognize going in on Tuesdays to schedule appointments!

Been here several times in the last year. I have only visited this location for piercings. However, I’m sure the tattoo work is excellent but have yet to get any ink from the artists here.Originally I found this location through a Google search for ‘best piercings Grand Rapids’. Normally the person that has done my piercings is a guy named... (starts with the letter ‘B’ so we will call him Dan) Today I had his co-worker, a very knowledgeable & friendly woman who instantly knew I had visited some other establishment for a piercing just by the workmanship (or lack of) of the pierced area.The choice is easy if you want a great body piercing.Professional service. Very friendly staff. Extremely clean, sterile environment. Also very knowledgeable about their craft! I’m hooked.

I love getting my piercings here. Theyre very quick and almost painless. Good prices for great work. Much better than others that do it cheaper. I will continue going back to get what I want finished.

I’ve had a lot of piercings over the years and this was my first experience with Screaming Needle. I got my nose pierced last week by Brailey. I must say I will definitely be back. My friend and I drove from Lansing to get our Helix and Forward Helix done here and it was totally worth it! The lady at the front desk was super informative and super nice! My friends and I went yesterday, rather last minute, for our one pal to get a tattoo! Upon walking in, youre greeted with a spacious, open environment. Chris, the support staff, is so cute and kind. Definitely a stand up dude! My friend was tattooed by Jerry, and she absolutely loved the experience. With it being a small tattoo, she was finished in about 15 minutes, and she said that she had great conversations, the area was clean, and the artist was precise and talented! Im sure that us teenage girls fit the mold of an average google-y eyed and annoying teen client, but they treated us with respect and friendly banter. The process was very easy, fast, and pleasant. I plan to come back to this location sometime soon for a tattoo of my own! Thanks!

I went with my friend to get his tattoo here. It was very clean. The people were really nice. A guy named Jerry did the tattoo. My friend got my name put in his arm. They had me write my name a bunch of times and then took the best letters from each of the signatures and put them together in photo shop. It looks great 👌 he was done very fast 🏎️ and it only cost $60 💸 we are very happy with everything 😁

Went in on a whim with my friend to get her some new piercings. The guy at the front desk was absolutely hilarious. The piercer was clean and knowledgeable, no reason to be afraid at that point. Walked her through the after care as well. 5 out of 5 recommend if in that area.

Its a good place for what it is. Its a quick stop to get well done and sterile piercing (havent personally gotten a tattoo here.) There are not a ton of jewelry options, but if you get pierced on Tuesday they are 2 for $30 above the waist.

Went with my sister for their Tuesday special- 2 piercings for $30. She got her lobes done and I got a nostril and a helix, we were both done within a couple of minutes! Super nice staff and really good prices I definitely recommend coming here!!

So my sister and I were those annoying people that wanted a tattoo last minute and out of FIVE different places they were the only place that were able to fit us in on such short notice! They were so kind to us and they even gave us a reduced price on our tattoos because we were being so patient, which they did not have to do, but they did and seriously that’s the nicest thing ever! Literally the best experience I’ve ever had at a tattoo parlor and I didn’t even mind waiting for a bit!!

I got a nose ring/hoop from this place and it caused a bump from the jewelry, due to it being cheap and not the right size for my nose. Had it looked at at another piercer, who also states that my right side nostril wasn’t pierced correctly. It’s an in and out situation, no discussion of aftercare- (which their recommendations aren’t what reputable piercers say). They don’t care about the customer and the quality of their piercing, they just care about the money. On top of that the piercer is always eating when Ive been there and ALSO he didn’t watch their hands when he brought the jewelry to my face. Gross and unsanitary.Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

They completely messed up piercing my Smiley, I had to go to a different shop to get it fixed. They pierced my friends medusa crooked.
