This place is one of my favorite places to eat! Each time we order their delicious food, we are satisfied! On top of that great customer service and amazing and friendly staff! I recommend this place a 1000000%! Thank you, for opening your restaurant for us to enjoy your delicious and authentic home cook food! ππ₯°
Always amazing food, never a long wait! I dont cook many Asian dishes, but am always impressed by the variety of produce here as well, and find it fits my own cooking needs. I found some amazing King Oyster mushrooms for a fair price here the other day, when I was picking up my Beef Bulgogi (its so good).
This has been one of my favorite markets since I was in high school (over a decade ago, hahaha). Im not sure when it started having take-out, but Im so glad it does because its delicious. The owners and employees are extraordinarily kind. And the food is incredible. The portions are generous and full of flavor. I went a couple of weeks ago most recently and was pleasantly surprised that albeit other businesses not being so good about COVID health measures, Seoul Market is doing a great job; everything was clean and the people handling my food as well as the employees and most of the customers were wearing masks which made me feel very comfortable and safe. Thank you!
Best food you will find in Michigan and very fairly priced. Exteremly nice people and the grocery store is loaded with everything you need. Worth a try for anyone who loves great food.
Amazing customer service! Super friendly and kind. Food is amazing! 100/10 will be coming back for more
Thank you for having everything I need! Good tale out option ready to eat too. Good skin care products.
The best Korean food in Grand Rapids! The owner is very kind and friendly. Strongly recommend!
Most down to earth and authentic Korean kitchen in Grand Rapids. You know a Korean place is real when they dont flex that their food has gochujang in it. The banchan portions are generous and always really good. The store is great too, great variety and stock on all basic Korean pantry & ingredients.
Lunch at Seoul Market (on 36the street). So DELISH !!I shared some of the Bulgogi - Korean Beef, and my husband had Kimchi Jjigae (Kimchi stew) and the rest of the Bulgogi.I really liked the rice glass noodle side dish. The other sides were radish Kimchi, cabbage Kimchi, and fish cakes.A great amount of yummy food for the money.
Great little take out place! Grab a tea and a sweet bun while youre there β¨ super welcoming and great food
God bless this place, great food and experience every time!
Love this place. Great food. Store is a bit expensive but has an interesting selection of Korean goods.
Love this market, the cafe has excellent food - highly recommend! (:
Best Korean grocery in GR. Did is always fresh and the owners are kind and friendly. The restaurant is great too. Really the only place in town to get your authentic Korean ingredients.
Food was great, large portions and a reasonable price. The store had good selection.
Love all ethnic food, but until I tried Seoul Market I was not crazy about Korean food. Today I ordered the spicy seafood soup and I am now a Korean convert! The ingredients were fresh, tasty and authentically prepared. Portions were large and I will make Seoul Market a frequent destination when visiting GR.
Delicious food and friendly staff! I had the kimchi stew and it was the best. Also fun to shop the grocery store section while the meal is cooking. My new favorite Asian food restaurant!!
Great food and very friendly staff!
Great food! Ive enjoyed sharing Korean food that I got to enjoy while stationed in South Korea, with my family. Always impressed!
Delicious food! Variety of Korean products π
I love coming here, from time to time I make recipes from japan and seoul market imports some of the items i need for that too!
Hole in the wall restaurant that offers a small selection of popular Korean dishes cooked perfectly. Also they are also a korean grocery store selling a variety of oriental snacks and seasoning.
This not to large place seems to have basically everything a Korean food lover needs.
One of the few places in GR to get Korean food at a great price. The restaurant hours are different from the store, usually closing an hour before. The grocery selection varies, and is slightly different every time I go, but is very broad for the items they sell.If youve been to Korea and developed a taste for the food, this is a great place to get your fix!
Cute little Korean grocery store with friendly staff. But the real gem is the small restaurant inside that serves authentic Korean dishes. Yum!
Got quality sliced ribeye and beef along with great fresh kimchi. Tofu jigae and bibimbap were awesome.Support this local Mom & Pop joint!
Very pleased with the customer service I received from a younger man. They have a large variety of items.
Some of the best authentic Korean food Iβve eaten outside of Korea. At this point, Iβve had almost everything on the menu and they were all delicious. I think the kimchi stew is a cure-all... and, spicy means spicy πΆ
This store is wonderful! So friendly! Going here is the highlight of my week!
The food and staff at Seoul Market are wonderful. Im not Korean so I cant speak to the authenticity of the food but it tastes amazing and has a very homely flavor like youre eatting food at your grandmas house. Its a hidden gem.
This is hands down my favorite place to get Korean food. Its just like what I grew up eating. Their Spicy Tofu Soup is particularly delicious. If youre looking to try authentic Korean food, look no further.
Amazing food and excellent customer service! Thanks for all the great meals!
Small grocery with a Korean food stall attached. The food was authentic and delicious. The food are all made to order, so be prepared to wait a while. Spicy rice cake was bomb, as was the spicy porkstir-fry.
Fantastic food. Great prices. Its near impossible to get better tasting food that will actually fill you up for less anywhere else.
Great Asian market place. I have been here many times and the staff is very helpful. The restaurant in the store is amazing. I highly recommend the bimbimbap. The Restaurant can have waits for the tables sometimes.
The owner and workers are so generous. I ordered ddukbokki and it was one of the best things Ive ever eaten. I bought so many snacks and am excited to try everything I got! Im definitely going back when I can!!
The kimchi jjigae and bulgogi there is AMAZINGGGG!!! i love that im able to go shopping as im waiting for my food! people there are so welcoming and nice as well
Good food thank you π
Fantastic food for a good price but be ready to wait. The actual dining area is extremely small, maybe only 6 small tables so dont fine in with a large party. The actual food is delicious though.
Best korean market. The owner is always so friendly and kind. We drive out to this market once in awhile all the way from Ludington and it is always worth the hour n half drive :)
Delicious and authentic Korean food!! Excellent priced groceries!!
So far it is my favorite Asian market! I can always find what I want and need.
My go-to market for authentic Korean groceries in GR area
If you want genuine Korean food... this is the spot. Iβve tried other places in town and this one itβs the best. Make sure you try the βBulgogiβ. Also their supermarket have a great selection of Korean items.
μμΈ λ§μΌμ μ λ§ μ’μν©λλ€!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE! The food in the cafe is all delicious and tastes amazing. The staff are like family which creates a good environment and always keeps me coming back.... Oh and the DELICIOUS FOOD too! The market offers an amazing variety of Asian foods, mostly Korean of course, and they are of good quality! I really love this place and would recommend all to go there.
Not only is the Seoul Market a great place to buy Korean snacks, food, drinks, and other items, it also has an amazing cafe inside! Their menu is extensive and authentic Korean cuisine. My girlfriend and I like to order our dinner and then, while it is being prepared, we walk around the market and pick out interesting Korean beverages to drink with our meal. Definitely a fun date idea if you and yours enjoy authentic experiences and like to try new things.
Very good selection clean and very nice people that were working there. I thing there the owners
One of the best Asian markets in Grand Rapids.
WHAT!?! This place is amazing! Totally random and you wouldnt really find it unless someone told you about it or you were on mission. Limited menu, but Im not mad, the few things they have are amazing. There are two things you need to consider..1) The seating is super limited and it can get busy during dinner hours.2) They dont have drinks. You are limited to self serve water, or maybe snagging a drink from inside the store.
Beat Korean in Grand Rapids.
WOW, what great food here! Definitely a hidden gem. Not much seating, but you can get take out as well. Everything is made fresh and flavorful. Thank you, will be back again!
The bibimbap in a stone bowl is delicious! Very fresh ingredients. This is a tiny little cafe in a Korean Grocery store. If authentic is more important to you than ambiance, this is the place for you. We love browsing the grocery after our meal.
Its a wonderful little market. They have everything you need to make great Korean food at home. Bonus is they serve fresh made authentic Korean food. You can either sit and enjoy right there or take it home with you.
An unbelievable hidden gem of a restaurant hidden inside of a store. The food there is a little pricey compared to the prices of other Korean foods from restaurants around the area but the taste is just like my fathers own homemade cooking: delicious! The store also carries more Korean goods than any other store Ive been to in Grand Rapids and the prices are also pretty average so I am not complaining here. Have gone to this place many times over the years and will continue to bring people who have never been to this place but want to experience Korean culture.
Love Seoul Market! The Bulgogi is my favorite with extra purple rice. Thank you for the delicious Korean food!
I cant speak to the quality of the grocery itself, they sell Korean import products and theyre courteous. The real deal is that theres a hole in the wall Korean restaurant inside. Not a huge menu but better than a Korean BBQ. Spicy pork that is the perfect amount of heat of any food Ive had.
Cafe: Good food and friendly service. Seating is very limited and food often takes a while.Market: Well stocked with a decent variety of goods
Great Korean market! Very friendly and made us feel at ease with all our questions. Even had some great tips for us for cooking!
The people that work here are very helpful, kind, and patient. There are only a few things I like to get here, but its definitely worth the drive. I whole-heartedly recommended them!
Great selection of Korean goods!
Family run, authentic Korean food. Very friendly and a great selection of Asian grocery products. We always receive great service and food here. We have been back many times
Great selection in all areas
The place is a hidden gem. Its legitimately a cafe added onto a market. The market has many different Korean and various Asian items needed to cook.As for the cafe. I love to take any people visiting here for an always delicious hole in the wall experience. I lived in South Korea for a year and this is as authentic as possible. The only difference I have seen in comparison to various places in Korea is they like to add in some extra heat on the spicy pork with the occasional jalapenos. Cant go wrong with anything on their menu, just dont be afraid to try something new ! You wont leave disappointed :)
Got all of our supplies! We drive 2 hours to get there a few times a year to stock up. They are always helpful!
The food here is great and the ladies that work here is friendly. Food selection is quite limited as this is a cafe and not a restaurant. With that said, its has some of the essential dishes and they are very good at what they do. Plus with the convientient of the market attached to the cafe. Its is nice to be able to shop after or before dining.
The cafe here is affordable and authentic Korean food and the grocery store is also a nice place to get East Asian ingredients and foodstuffs. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for people looking for either.
The food here is amazing. Just know what if you come during the lunch rush it will be a long wait and they will likely run out of tables. Everything Ive tried so far is awesome. If you are unfamiliar with Korean food start with the #1 Bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef). Definitely worth eating here
My go to place when craving Korean food. The owner and staff are very friendly.
Food is great, but lack of drink options (Sprite or water) is really a letdown. Carry some different pop for us normal humans!
Best place for Korean food served fresh, hot, and just like you remember if you lived over there like I did. Love the store too. Great place to pick up your supplies for making your own if you know how. I do, thankfully.
Arguably the best Korean food in the Grand Rapids area. I know, Grand Rapids is not known for their asian food scene, let alone Korean food But this korean food mart delivers on good authentic korean food. Theres usually always a crowd of customers eating in, so be prepared to wait as the dining area seating is limited. My family and I order food from here regularly to go.
A great wide selection of items. I couldnt find gochujang at almost any stores, save for Lees Oriental Market and Seoul Market. So happy! And the small restaurant here smelled so delicious but I was in a hurry. The staff I encountered were also very nice.
Little hidden gem with the best bulgogi. Even try their spicy octopus! Great place to buy thin sliced ribeye for steak sandwiches.
Do not let the exterior fool you. There is a reason why the parking lot is full (except when they are closed on Monday). The food is exceptional, the portions are generous and letβs not forget their prices are very reasonable. Nothing fancy here, just delicious, authentic Korean food.
Love the cafe inside. Grocery store to get your Korean items. The cafe inside is a hidden gem. Very authentic Korean dishes. Simple, but tasty menu to order from. Around 20 items on the menu and they are very good. Saturday they have kimbap! Yummy. Try them out you wont be disappointed. Spicy dishes so beware.
Good food. Rude owner and horrible costumer service. Used to go here pretty regularly so we witnessed the owner or manager, who ever this evil lady is, treat people like dirt. Including us.She once told my niece she couldnt sit at the table and made her get up until we ordered even though we were literally in line ordering. The last straw for us was when she berraded myself and my daughter in front of the entire restaurant when the waitress brought us the wrong dish and we asked for the correct one. She even made us pay $2 extra when she is the one who took the order wrong. All she wanted to do was argue and tell me that its my fault I told her the wrong number even though their menu is confusing and has two different numbers besides the picture. Mind you, I said we wanted the Bulgogi and not the number but she continued to argue with me to the point where everyone in the restaurant was looking at her in disbelief. It was quite shocking.Being a small business owner myself, I was mortified to be treated this way as I would NEVER treat any of our customers this way. It is a shame, because the food was great but I could never support a business like this because I can only imagine how she treats her employees.I suggest you humble yourself, come down to reality, and treat people like you would want your family and children to be treated.
One of the hidden gem for Korean food only in GR
They have everything! Surprised this place is still open but theyβre holding it down. If you are looking for more authentic things that you would normally find in more ethnically diverse metro areas like Chicago or Toronto, youβd be pleased to find them here.
Delicious food and kind people! When you are waiting for a table, (especially when its busy), you can shop, or when youre done with your food! No matter what, they are always helpful!
Nice place. I only know of three korean markets in the area, and I far prefer this one to the other two. Its clean, their product fresher, and they also have some prepared foods for those of us who love to eat it but arent really sure how to make it. Friendly folks run the place, and its conveniently close to the highway, making it simple to get to from the surrounding area. Its a small local store, and very much a mom and pop type store.
I was on several errands today, which included hoping to try a dish called bulgogi, recommended by my friend Charles Van Wyk. He said on Facebook that his top two favorites for food are bulgogi and khao, a Thai dish. I asked directions, and Seoul Market is where I might get bulgogi. So, somehow I got to thinking that Byron Center was where to find the store. Since I myself was lost and needed directions, I offer ... its a bit west of 131 on 36th street; but then, if you find this page ... alright nevermind. From the outside I could see this is a grocery store, but when I walked in I saw a small seating area and a menu on the wall. Number 1 on the menu was bulgogi. I recalled that someone had said this beef dish could be personalized with chicken, so I asked for chicken with my bulgogi; but that was denied. I suppose they were out, or at this store not an option. I sat and waited a bit. As I waited on my food, two boys and two girls came in and sat at one table next to mine. It was clear they knew this store, and Im guessing on this, all college students. My food arrived and I tried to keep my eyes on my food, but I also was paying attention to a lively conversation. Initially, I was struck by a terrific smell from the food, and it was familiar. Second, I noticed several dishes on the side. I wouldnt exactly call them side dishes, like corn or mashed potatoes. Actually, their contents seemed to me less a focus than their spiciness. One with something that looked like corn was slightly picante, while another that was more like a soaked cabbage was much spicier; and another that looked like soggy chips, which may actually be what they were, was not spicy at all. I took some of this and some of that, trying them in turn with bulgogi; and I settled on the corn one, putting that liberally over top of the dish. This was delicious and familiar, although I could not tell you where I HAVE had bulgogi in the past. My review ends here; but as I go, I offer that I noticed one of the items on the menu includes baby octopus. My best friend has been looking for octopus in this town, so I think I will offer to buy him lunch. I dont have a picture of myself right now but this is one of my cats. She lost an eye in a fight but she is the sweetest cat youll ever see.
I loved it so much!! I bought kimbap and veggie pancakes. I also ate bibimbap and bulgogi. It was really small and cozy, I recommend going.
Owner was very friendly and most everything I was looking for. Has a restaurant attached so can always get Korean food to go as well!!
Everything on the menu are great. All the staff are super nice. Cant say enough about this place.
Small restaurant with authentic great tasting Korean food. Total of 5 tables, 19 chairs all together. Reasonably priced and tasty. Will definitely come here again.
Great products and a good selection of items in the supermarket. I ate dinner here and loved it. Additionally, the employees here are the sweetest people you could ever meet! I will be coming back often :)
Great bulgogi. Wonderful sides. Ill be back.
Feels like being back in Seoul, I love it
Great food and good service at the restaurant. There are a lot of items for sale in the grocery store with nice staff.
