Good clean store, nice staff. Giving it 2 stars because the produce is always molded or bruised beyond the point of being edible. I bought oranges yesterday and one was a 1/3 moldy on the inside when I opened it this morning π€’
Its a nice clean store, and Everyone is very nice, I shop there when I visit my daughter.
Classic Kroger Store. I Believe Kroger Was Here Before Me And Will Be Here For My Great Grand Children. Everything is Priced To Sell. The Best Deals Around In My Opinion I Have Never Ever Had A Huge Complaint about Any Kroger Store! There Is Definitely Only One Name And This Is It!
Unfortunately this Kroger is the most convenient for me...would probably be best to go out of my way to have a better experience. This store has the WORST customer service (cashiers). They are rude, political and sloppy for beginners.I am all for employing human beings and keeping the automation out, but, in this case they need more self checkout lanes. Not to mention the laziness. The bottle room is rarely open. Closes at 4 during the week. Always, β the bottle room is temporarily closedβ every weekend. I guess working people paying all that deposit cannot get that back, locally anyway. While Iβm at it the store isnβt that clean and their prices suck. They donβt offer the same deals other Krogers do because they donβt have any immediate competitors.
This store is horrible. I had to change grocery stores because nothings ever in stock. I guess the manager thinks this is okay. Because this the third time in a row where the store is completely empty. Wont shop there anymore.
Good store, good prices on certain items!
This is where i get most of groceries, but customer service is inconsistent. Kind of frustrating trying to do a return of purchase.
Love this store shop often. Their problem is bill pay, returns, customer service is NEVER OPEN this a BIG inconvenience for me. The other Krogers is across town. They r always open.
Didnt have what looking for but ok cause close to home
Went to get money order at store in canton and website said money services opens at 8am. When I get there Im told they dont open until 9am. Ok fine, I have to be in ypsi soon anyway so I figure Ill stop at the one there and itll be 9 by the time I get there. I get there and am told they dont open the money services desk until 11! Mind you it also said online that it opens at 8. So I guess they all just randomly pick and choose when those services will be available and do not bother to put the time correctly on the website. Frustrating. UPDATE YOUR TIMES ONLINE!!!!
Good people work there sad to know they underpaid during these times of uncertainty.
I am a loyal Kroger shopper, because the prices are right, and the staff is one of the friendliest around. Kroger exceeds at customer service where others fail, thats why they have my repeat business. Great job!
I was pretty unsatisfied with my experience at this location. The store and parking lot are very dirty and full of garbage. Since it is in a lower income area there were shopping cart theft prevention measures in place, but these prevented me from even getting a cart to use in the store. There is also a rather limited selection of fresh meat, seafood, and bakery items.
This Kroger store is old compared to some, but the people are so friendly.
Consistently out of stock out of items
Was trying to return Bottles for the deposit, and do some shopping, but was told at the door the bottle return was closed since 4pm (it was around 7pm). Frustrated I asked if they were still selling bottles and of course was the reply. I then looked for a Manager or customer service to ask why it was closed, was told Corporate has them closed at 4pm now, it seemed unreasonable to me that they are making all of day shift not be able to return but they are more than willing to sell you more. I call Corporate on Saturday to file a complaint, but they are closed, I call another local Kroger and find out their bottle return is open till 8pm, so I called back my this store to ask the manager what the bottle return hours are and was told again that corporate has them shutting down at 4pm, I told her other stores did not have this issue and its most likely not a Corporate thing and she hung up on me. This is a shame as I have been a client of Kroger for way over 35 years now, the treatment they have been handing out to customers is not reasonable, If she would have just said were sorry its currently closed, I would have bought my groceries.
Please fix your hours! Super upsetting to drive out of the way for a closed store!
The employees dont wear masks and the place is always under stocked. The produce is always on the verge of rotten, its like this store gets the throw aways from the other Krogers. No one follows the aisle direction arrows and bottle return is always down (even pre-pandemic).Also had a nice (sarcasm) run in with an employee who was spouting off a ton of political nonsense at us when we had only asked where an item was (Im guessing his co workers didnt want to hear it on break or something).I reported the mask issue to corporate 3 times and nothing improved. Despite this store being around the corner from my house we go to the Whittaker Kroger now.
Jeff is so wonderful! There is a Kroger significantly closer to my home but sometimes I come out to this location just for the wonderful employees, especially Jeff!
Very nice place to shop Ive been shopping there for years well-stocked good management very good people I go back and continuously thank you bye
Employees were not wearing masks! We are still in a pandemic! Very very unprofessional and shows the lack of compassion they have for others. Absolutely disgusted with such behavior!
I just had a very poor experience here. Two, if you count the managers response when I raised my concern. When I got to the register, I informed the cashier that I did not want anything bagged (I have enough plastic bags in my house and store reusable grocery bags in my car). The cashier told the bagger I didnt want bags. He either didnt hear her or wasnt listening because he started to bag my groceries. The cashier restated that I did not want bags. The bagger picked up my bagged items from the bottom and flipped them out of the bag, sending it flying. No apology, no acknowledgement. Just proceeds to load my items into my cart. I go outside and call the store from the parking lot to report this to a manager. After describing the incident and telling the manager which register this occurred at, she responds that she will talk to him. Again, no apology. No attempt to rectify the situation with me. That is unacceptable. After my last poor experience with grocery pickup last month, Kroger might be in danger of losing my business real soon.
Jeff is such a great employee! Thanks for all your hard work.
This store constantly fails at everything. From the staff not wearing masks around customers (counted 5 that I could SEE) to dirty parking lot and haphazard organization. Before COVID-19, this store seemed to be improving. Nope. Dont go here.
I went to Kroger to buy fresh deli lunch meat for subs. Looking in the case I discovered that only Kroger brand, or eckerich bologna options are now available! Heritage farm. I am very displeased! No imported anything! Karakus polish ham is awesome but they only carry cheap, very processed, greasy unpleasant tasting brand. I realize that this store now only caters to lower income customers. Im not rich but do enjoy NAME BRAND products. I went to Meijer, wow ! Great options! Much further to travel but well worth it!! I also want to say Kroger should give back its employee HAZARD Pay!! Really!
Horrible pick up process they are always understaffed and you will always miss items in your order even though being charged. Never shopping here again after the second time having a horrible experience. Save yourself the trouble.
Less then one star. Worst Krogers Ive ever been to. Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. Close customer service & bottle returns whenever they feel like it! Who cares what the hours are!!
Ive been shopping at this Kroger for years. Since Joe took over as manager I have seen so great improvements. Store is cleaner, produce looks better and I general the store just has a better feel to it.
I made an online order 2 days in advance. When I arrived to pick it up, I found confused looks. After sending me on a dummy mission to the Deli, I spent the next 5 minutes listening to how I (yes the consumer) should have called to make sure they (yes the people who get paid to work here) were doing THEIR jobs. The staff were pleasant enough, while fixing my order...but I was still delayed 20+ minutes for my training. Long story short....go elsewhere if you can!
Loveβ€, Loveβ€, Loveβ€ this store. It may be smaller than some other Kroger stores; however they are always in stock with sale items, and every item needed. The people that work here have been with Kroger for quite awhile & can help you with any &/or all your needs...and if they cant help you immediately, right on the spot, they will find out how to solve your issues. The Store Manager Sean is amazing, always on the floor helping with customer needs & wants, not sitting in his office. He is seriously on the floor 95% of his work day.
Although I am fairly certain it is only in my mind, this store seems really run down.It is usually busy, which may contribute to my perception, but this is not my favorite place to grocery shop.I typically only stop here for quick trips, and do my major shopping at another location.
Summary: Typically friendly staff. Limited selection. Dirty floors and smelly bottle return area. Checkout is painfully slow regardless of if you go through one of the lanes or suffer through self-checkout.The staff is usually friendly (especially Elliott!) but that is really the only good thing about this store. Their selection is very limited, especially if you are looking for anything organic, grass fed or preservative free. They seem to have some of the major brands for common items but donβt expect much outside of that. The floor is usually pretty dirty, especially the closer you get to the bottle return area which is always gross and reeks. I rush past it whenever I am near it. I have never been when they have more than two lanes open and self-checkout is such a pain. The machines always require an attendant to put in a code (always, it is SO annoying) and, unless Elliott is working, there is no attendant in sight. Seriously, I wonder if they are worried about people stealing. I imagine it would be quite easy. Not that I would but I have had to leave my groceries halfway through checkout several times in search of an attendant. I am always in a worse mood when I leave than when I arrived either because it took entirely too long to checkout, I must go to another grocery store because they donβt carry what I need, or I have to settle for something else. I would suggest going to the one in Canton. It is worth the extra nine-minute drive down Michigan Avenue. You will find everything you need in one store, it is clean and there are friendly attendants everywhere. You wonβt be sorry.
Ive been going to this Krogers since it was built in the 70s. Their always polite and helpful. They have good savings on whatever you buy. Especially Kroger Brand. Everything we buy is Kroger Brand. Im glad their so close to my home.Keep up the good work, Kroger !!!
I shop at many Kroger stores. This Ypsilanti, MI one is convenient however has limited variety of the things I look for. However the service is good and can get in and out without having to wait over 10 minutes at the self check out.
Good selection but couldnβt find all of the supplements I needed. No refrigerated probiotic section
This has always been the store my parents shopped at when I was growing up.
Self checkout helper basically called me a liar and refused to help over the difference of a dollar when a product rang up the wrong price. This store is always dingy and dirty and lacking in stock. Youre much better off going to the Whittaker location.
This is a local family grocery store. Ive been going there my whole life. I always get the help I could possibly need. Check out 99% of the time fast. Customer service is friendly and very professional. I definitely recommend!!
Nice people, helpful, and clean. The store was clean, and I got everything I went for. I live on Carpenter rd and come this way to see a friend. Then I shop here, I like this store better than a big store.Keep up the good work .
This is a decent Krogers, good for running in to get something on sale or that was forgot that is needed really quick. The 3 star rating is due to somethings I have experienced with this location.-not the cleanest store-rude cashiers/employees in general-purchased what my husband and I though to be good produce to find out they were moldy (sadly have had this issue happens a few times, only at this location.)
Friendly atmosphere, couldnt finish Burger because bun was too wet!! It was so wet it was as if it had been in water. Waitress had to be called to table twice for service, because she was so busy talking to a certain table. We ordered pie she didnt return so we had to ask another waitress!!
Love this store. I like the size and love the staff. Love love the bakery ladies and they have the best pharmacy.
This is a very dirty location. The store stinks to high heaven as soon as you walk in. I walked right back out drove 15 min down rd to canton center kroger. Much nicer and cleaner
Place aas closed eailrwr then it said
I know some folks dont like this particular Kroger but I do. Its close by, my food purchases have always been fresh and good. Most of the time they have everything I need. When they dont I look elsewhere. Workers always treat me nice and have been very helpful when needed.
Horrible selection, rude employees, and self scan is only lanes open close to closing. This is the second time Ive been to this Kroger and it hasnt had 5lb packages of beef and I ended up buying 3 1lb packages for the price of the 5lb package. Worst experience by far Ive ever had at a Kroger. The machines also dont ring up the sale price so make sure you dont get gypped! Convenience is key I suppose, and the location is convenient but I will be going to the Canton location from here on out.
Great people that work at this store. Stay stocked up.
A good local grocery store. Good selection and quality products. Maybe not the beat Kroger in town, but its the place we go when we need just a few things. Plus, complimentary coffee when you walk in!
This Kroger store doesnt have many fancy items or many vegan items, but they do carry some. Thats the only reason this isnt my main store. They carry tons of standard items and theres usually great sales because its Kroger.
Love that this store is open til midnight. Definitely is clutch when you wanna cook late
Limited selection, somewhat dingy, but great customer service .This place keeps going downhill fast. Staff is very friendly but produce and meat is terrible. Selection is, i guess what you would expect for a food stamp crowd, but not for anyone who actually likes to cook. Overall cleanliness is the worst I have seen in a grocery store. This is my closest store, so I still go to do returnables and a few cleaning supplies. It will not surprise me if they go out of business.
Very nice and friendly staff. Lost a star because they need to keep things stocked better, but its not so bad I wouldnt return.
I get great customer service at this Kroger thanks to Thomas on nights. He is always courteous and goes above and beyond to help.
Staff was very helpful everything was easy to find just did not like the prices of the meat other than that the store was very clean and everyone was very polite
The ONLY reason I come to this store is to get my prescriptions filled. I love the AWESOME pharmacy employees! They are so helpful, and nice! This store is closest to my house, but I shop for groceries at the Canton Kroger. This location is finally making improvements, as far as cleaning and updating a bit. I still do not like the selection of produce. Old, and bruised fruits and vegetables. Horrible meat selection.
I was in here today with my service animal and was verbally harassed by several employees. My dog had his service identification on him, clearly visible, and yet the employees still pestered me about having a pet in the store. Maybe Kroger should educate their employees about the law, as it is illegal for them to be harassing customers with service animals.
Very very dissatisfied. Woke up early to go to the money center here. They opened it 20 min late while a line waited, then turned me away because she didnt want to cash my check. Im so glad i made it a point to go to this location, just to be put on hold and refused. Thanks a lot for your customer service today
Although Ive been coming to this very Kroger since I was a child with my mother and grandmother Im not sure I can continue shopping there. After a very friendly chat with a U-scan lady that has been there 20+ years I walked out feeling good about the experience. Then as my family and I was leaving my two yr old daughter and three year old autistic niece wanted something out of the quarter machines. They each made their pick and my niece being autistic is very peculiar about things. She put her 50 cents in expecting a squishy octopus toy and instead came out dragon necklace which she dropped to the ground and started running away from. So I took the item to the front desk and explained the situation to a young blonde woman who then rolled her eyes and told me they aint ours its enter at your own risk, Ill give you your quarters but dont expect it to happen again I was taken aback. I said Im sorry there isnt anything posted saying that its enter at your own risk. She rolled her eyes again tossed the quarters on the counter and then rolled the dragon necklace back at me saying you can have this. Like she heard nothing about me saying my autistic niece was very frightened and scared of it. I said no thank you and she well you could atleast throw it away. EXCUSE ME!? I wish I had gotten her name because I would most assuredly called corporate about the whole insensitive, insulting experience this customer service person put me and my family through. Wont be back.
Worst store. Kroger should be embarrassed. Employees are rude. No merchandise. Cant expect people to spend money when you offer less than a fourth of what you offer in other stores.
Very clean aisles. Wonderful customer service!
Wasnt impressed with the long lines at the checkouts. And very disappointed that they no longer carry Zatarains Gumbo mix π. But the Self Help cashier was polite & courteous along with various stock clerks. Store was clean & very much so improved over the years.
I work at Kroger. If you shop at the one in ypsilanti, please be sure to give Dennis (thats me) a good review
Good clean store I live down the street so always there
The most low income kroger Ive ever been to.... they need several updates and upgrades. No fresh quality produce no fresh meat or seafood.... no extensive bakery selection.
The employees that works here are very helpful and nice.
Always have what I am shopping for. Great prices and having a Krogers card is a must for ultimate savings.
This Kroger may not have all the selection of the bigger Kroger, but they have what is needed. The quality is in the service they are more friendly and helpful then other Kroger stores. My choice all the time
Today a cashier chose to argue with me about the price of a close out item. Ripped the tag off of the shelf and refused to honor the price that was in front of the item. Which to my knowledge is illegal. This is not the only problem with this store but this was it for me today! I will not return and will drive further to the Whittaker rd store which is much cleaner and professional. She not only argued with me but with the man behind me who was choosing to purchase the same item! Completely rude and unprofessional.
I love Kroger, generally speaking, but on occasion I find myself wandering around the isles looking for items that I would normally find at other Kogers.Hence this is the issue with this particular Kroger. I was looking for more healthy options, this is why I love Kroger because they have them, and certain products you can only find at Kroger vs stores like Aldi, Save alot etc.I was looking for Dais and Fieldroast products and was wanting some tempe and tofu. They had the SIlk milk but when I mentioned the products to the manager he just looked stupified. I took the time to write down the items other Krogers carry and asked if he could order them.Im doubting he will, so this review is to grab the attention of Kroger marketing and suggest they product test plant based items in all of their stores, I bet they would be surprised how much money is being lost by not having these items.
I love Kroger. Good stuff. Good deals.
Clean store. Lot of employees early in the morning. Stocking the store. They greet you when you are near them.
I have been going to Kroger for some time now. I find most things there that I need. I have found that some items are cheaper at Wal-Mart, but for groceries I stick with Kroger.
Only one person in the last several years has been giving me trouble. She is always rude and nasty. Ive seen her be real nice to other people, but I can tell its just a put-on. Im fairly sure she judges people by whether they pay with a bridge card or not. The worst thing is, Ive overheard her talking with her trusted clique about another employee unkindly. If she reads this, Im sure she knows who she is. But I do want to emphasize that almost every other employee has been more than helpful and kind.
A standard Kroger. Main complaint is a lack of variety. They will have a massive section for one product instead of using some of that section for other varieties of the same product.
Love the remodel, its about time lol not so ghetto anymore. I love the employees all accept for ERIC.
I Love Kroger. The prices are very reasonable & the staff is friendly and helpful.
This particular kroger has been eliminating many name brands so if you are looking for specific brands your selection is much better at other stores.
It was busy.. not a lot of lanes open. But overall it was good
I have shopped at this krogers for about 20 years. Over the past year it has really gone down hill. The shelves are never stocked. The employees are very pleasant and helpful but the store is the worst I have ever seen.
I HAVE BEEN GOING TO KROGERS FOR 20 YRS AND IT GET BETTER AND BETTER AS THE YRS GO ON. YOU MAKE THE CUSTOMERS ALWAYS COME FIRST WITH KROGERS AND IF YOU NEED HELP THEY WILL WALK WITH YOU ALL THRU THE STORE TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE PRODUCTS YOU NEED ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS AND THAT IS WONDERFUL TO HAVE A FEELING THAT A STORE THAT BIG WOULD TAKE TIME OUT TO HELP SPECIAL NEEDS OR JUST ANYBODY THATS SPECIAL TO ME AND IT MAKES ME FEEL SAFE. SO THANK YOU KROGERS FOR BEING WONDERFUL TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. GOD BLESS ALL YOUR WORKERS THEY DESERVE A RAISE AND A PAT ON THE BACK . NADIA CAUSLEY VALUE CUSTOMERβ€
I worked in management at a kroger a couple years ago. This store has the rudest, nastiest, most disrespectful employees I have ever seen. At the kroger I worked we fired people for not having customer skills. The customer desk person needs to be fired. Who dares to not greet you smacking their gum around talking to other people without a saying a word to the customer that they are supposed to be helping. If you cant do that don,t work in customer service
I dont recomend this store. Are car has gotten broken into twice here. Sex trafficking and drug exchange have been caught here. Please be careful when you come to this store.
Not the worst but definitely not the best. The best Kroger is in either Whittaker Rd or Carpentar Rd.
Love the selection here. A little bit of everything.
E Michigan Ave Krogers needs more workers for the a.m rush. It wil be 8am- 9am and no one to work the registers. I am disabled I can not be lifting items and bagging them. I was in a MVA in addition to my disabilities. So the lack of help in the am is unnacceptable. If you are disabled and only shop in the a.m, and choose this location make sure you have someone with you that can assist in self check out, because you will not get the help you need otherwise. It was a terrible experience. My lesson has been learned.
I like the 10 for 10 and they always have good sales going for snacks and other stuff
Saw at least 3 employees, including one in the bakery, without masks today. GROSS!!!!!
Just went there and picked up 2 items which both were cold and could have fit into one single bag. But NO the dumb ass cashier puts one item in a bag doesnt tell me and not only that he double bags them both so I had to go back. I hate double bagging unless its totally necessary, or just invest in some stronger plastic bags. I mean come on even Sav-A-Mor has plastic bags that can be reused several times. I always have some kind of issue when I go to this certain store.
Staff is always very very helpful and the produce is stacked so perfect!!!
It convenient for me to run and get items needed. Its a few blocks from my home.
Love this store... have been coming here a very long time...always my go to store
Unprofessional managers -better off going to the store on Whittaker. Management on Mich Ave need serious Customer Service training! 1 star is too generous for that train wreck of a store.
This is a very average Kroger location. The service is just OK. And the facility is average.
It has what I went for in stock and at a reasonable price. Lines were not bad at all.
I love that Krogers because Im always running into family and friends and theyve got nice people working there!
Seriously the most ghetto Kroger you will ever go to! Huge bare spots on the shelves all the time. Things always look messy. Every time I go in there something rings up more expensive than advertised. And to top it all off this location has the roughest looking most apathetic staff that has ever been collected. They dont say hi, they dont make eye contact and when you ask for help they act like youve just ruined their day.Oh, and if you sit in the parking lot long enough youll see theres very obviously a shoplifting ring running game on this store.
Dont waste time at Ypsilanti store on mixhbave..go-to Canton
I love Kroger they always have decent pricing.
