Dope record store in little 5 - they have tons of records, cds, and lots of cool memorabilia and posters/prints. It’s a small space so they are requiring everyone to wear masks while inside. Employees are friendly and welcoming will help you find anything you are looking for and even order stuff for you if they don’t have it in store. Nice to have a brick and mortar record store in Atlanta and this one has been here forever.
Staff was incredibly rude during the pandemic. If theyve improved, thats just fine. I wont be back
Prices were a little high, but I dont mind. The staff like most other stores in L5P were really nice, and the records I bought were easy to find. I also liked how they limit the amount of customers allowed inside. If youre in the Atlanta area and enjoy records or comics, I definitely suggest swinging by.
Really cool spot in Little 5. There is literally something for everyone and we even found a super rare vinyl!
I was supposed to attend an in store meet n greet for the band waterparks but it was suddenly cancelled by the store for vague “safety regulation” reasons. the reality of it though is that they would not allow patrons to bring in bags containing life saving medical equipment and instead of being more accommodating for disabled patrons, the store decided to cancel last minute, surprising both the band and those who would attend the event. very unprofessional practice in my opinion.
Incredible selection, loved the independent comic section and local features. Appreciated their covid measures. Reasonable prices. Absolutely will be visiting again.
The staff on the inside of the store were superb! This would have been a five star review if the guy managing the door wasn’t mean to my brother by not letting him in because he was wearing a gator mask instead of a normal one. There was no sign or rule stating that those types of masks were not allowed, and the guy was very rude about it to my brother.
Love this record shop. They always have what I am looking for, even if I dont know what I came in the store to pick up. Thanks for having the latest Halsey album in translucent orange when no one else did. I cant count how many shops promised me they would hold it for me, only to sell it to someone else. I know times are difficult, but we should still be people of our word. Sure glad Criminal is.
Quality selection. Helpful staff. Decent prices
This place really has it all. If your looking for new or old vinyl it will probably be here. Keep in mind this is little five points if you have not been here be prepared for culture shock. Parking can be hard to find
Amazing place! i just discovered it this past tuesday with my friend & went again today :) great atmosphere, all the employees ive encountered are so nice 🥰 great selection too, especially the comic books & graphic novels! absolutely love it, 1000000/10 will recommend this place to everyone
This place is so cool! They are still taking every precaution, but I think it makes for a better experience in the store. They have so many cool things!
If they werent so expensive theyd be a 5 star joint.
Good vinyl selection. However, it needs better organization.
Favorite record store hands down. Im from Huntsville, AL and traveled to Atlanta just to visit Little Five Points and Criminal Records. Great selection of used and new vinyl, comics, POPS, and more. Very well organized.
Great selection of vinyl and other music related items
My favourite music shop in all of Atlanta, actually more like my favourite of all time. Extension collection of all genres in any form you could hope to enjoy it. Vinyl, cassette, CD. Vintage posters. This place is heaven for any music fanatic.
Just loved the selection here. Got some great digs from here.
Its okay. Used to be better. Typical snarky, mean-spirited record store clerks. Go to Wax N Facts instead or just buy your records from Discogs or Amazon.
Helpful staff. Wasnt expecting the graphic novel section and ended up taking two home from the pre loved rack.
Passing by the area and came in for a selection of post punk, singer/song writer, and metal vinyl interests and they had such a wide variety of music! I think most music stores I go to have a lack in one department but I was really happy with everything I could find. Great shop, great staff, safety policy for COVID, and awesomeeeeee.
Best record store in ATL.
How can this not be your favorite record store?
Criminal Records is my personal goto record store whether it be for new releases, old releases, reissues, or used vinyl. They have a friendly staff and a fantastic selection of music.
I love this record store. Everything is pretty organized for the most part. The staff does what they can to help whenever possible. Covid has caused a longer than normal wait since they have to limit the amount of people in the store at a time, but that’s the only downside.
Always great finds.
My new favorite place. Huge selection great prices.
Great place to find records..annoyed that the high school girls are slow in checking out as they chat up college kids
Eric always had an ear for music and musical talent
Had a lot of the good ol classics. But not enough current classics. Perhaps they just arent available yet? Overall, good quality and well-priced.
Great place to find new and vintage vinyl!
Absolutely love this place. Definitely a hidden gem in Atlanta.
They are called Criminal Records for reason, their prices are Criminal! Listen its a cool place if your some unsuspecting hipster, but they over price their records like Ive never seen. If you want to buy used, be ready to rip out your life savings.
Criminal has a great selection of new and used vinyl and cds as well as comics, graphic novels, and new magazines. In the before times they hosted regular in-store band appearances. The only knock against Criminal is the inconsistency in how they label their used vinyl. They use a sticky note and write the release year of the album and the condition of the vinyl. Sometimes they list whether its an original pressing or a repressing but often times, at least for what Ive purchased, they only label the release year. You can get burned on the pricier records if you think youre buying an original pressing but you are actually buying a later pressing, especially when they charge a premium for their used vinyl compared to other record stores in the area. This could depend on which staff member is doing the grading and research but it is wildly inconsistent.
You will never leave this place empty handed.
Disappointed items well over price. Felt like I was being watch like hawk felt uncomfortable. Need to drop the mask thing
Ive been coming here so long, I remember when Criminal was next to Junkmans Daughter. Anyway, this is such a great store and always has been. Not only do they have a gargantuan selection of music but they have comics, Funkos and so much more. If you visit here and dont end up buying something...youve failed at life. The staff has always been cool and the store is very rarely not busy. Its definitely got a great vibe to it and its a must visit for anyone from out of town. About the only thing I can critique them negatively on is the pricing of some of the used vinyl. Ive found it hard to pay $7-9 for a record with a lot of visible wear (and why I gave 4-stars) So, rather than buying vinyl...I rack up the savings in the CD section! Anyway, dont let my nit-pick on vinyl prevent you from visiting (Im very picky and was a buyer for 10 years)...you need to go and pay these guys a visit.
Wide selection of vinyls, very organized. Alot of pops that I havent seen in other places
ATL’s best record store bar none.
Great service and selection
Cool place, good selection. A little overpriced, though. And some puffed up disk jockey *screamed* at me bc I had a coffee in my hand lol.
They have those $5 comic bundles again!
Big selection with helpful staff
Great vinyl selection.
Best Record Store in Atlanta if not Georgia. They do album listening parties, live concerts, sell local art, comics, action figures, posters and more! Great place to buy a gift or get some wax.
ATL Staple!!! Nuff said...
Great comics section!
Great selection of new and used records. Great customer service.
Best shop in town.
Great service, cool vibe
Visited on the way back home to Nashville from Columbus. Had a great variety of records in all the genres you can expect. Some great band tees from artists you do not see anywhere else. Good experience.
Cool place!
Like the selection and had roughly $300 picked out to purchase. My 3 year old son had even picked out a record and a toy. Unfortunately he needed to potty and when I asked to use their restroom they denied him access. I find this disgusting. We frequent many local record stores and they have always allowed bathroom access. I know criminal records probably doesn’t NEED my money but I put everything back as they told me to take him to the chevron across the street. I’m livid. Never stepping foot in here again. Y’all can shove it. I’m happy to go back to Decatur CD and many others who are willing to accommodate paying customers. I actually think it’s against a law to deny access to restrooms. I’m going to be looking into this more. Shouldn’t have to risk my son disgracing himself in public because this store is run by people who just don’t care about their customers
Great Record shop with some fantastic vinyls. Can spend hours in this place just re-discovering great music! From the UK and ended up buying 3 vinyls
Excellent selection and staff
Great prices for vinyl!I love going through the older, used vinyls which they have up front and in the back. They sell them for pretty cheap. The greatest part about record stores is you’ll never know what classics you might find. I’m always on the lookout for Rush records, but I never seem to find any. But I’m able to settle for some underrated records.
Cold atmosphere, despite being a record store. closer to moods and waxnfax
Altho these days I’m on Discogs, I always loved popping in & diggin’ around. I remember the 1st time I entered the cozy environment (as a teenager exploring ATL) they were playing the most, sublime recording on the PA... I inquired what it was: Jon Hassell and Brian Eno 🐐🐐🌊 I even caught Dino Jr’s acoustic set before their show at Variety. Classic store in the heart of Little 5; bring back the electronic/exp/avant-garde section!💯
Enjoyed the aesthetic. Will hopefully go back next time I visit ATL
Went here with friends and they loved it. They said they could spend hours there. I wanted ice cream so I wasnt interested but theres a lot of cool records and posters there. Also some t shirts. If you love records you can definitely spend some time here.
Fun little area in little five points. Lots of character. Makes up for the small selection of cds. Great selection of comic books and vinyl though!
Been coming here for a while. The selection for both new and used records is always pretty great and in theyre usually in great condition. Sometimes a little pricey but nothing too major. I especially appreciate the organization of the classical section, but wish there was more.
Absolutely adore Criminal Records. Located perfectly in Little 5 Points, great and knowledgable staff, insane collection of records, and just a sick vibe in general.
They have everything here
Been collecting for years. This place is amazing heard about when I was still living in NY its all and more. Great record spot.
👌
This store is huge in comparison to others Ive been to lately. They have a decent selection of newer comics and a huge assortment of records and CDs. The staff were very friendly. I will definitely support this local business in the future!
Although I really like the graphic novel section and the presentation of the store, while I was visiting my family in Atlanta, I recently exchanged several graphic novels for $80 and then only received $70. The worker ushered me quickly out of the store while handing me the money, folded, and I made the mistake of not counting it right there, thinking WHY WOULD SOMEONE SHORT ME like that ? I didnt catch his name, but he was a young, African American kid, wearing black rimmed glasses, red flannel shirt and black hat.... your standard Hipster uniform.Next time I am in town Ill be sure to go find him, if they have not already fired him after reading this
Love this spot! The staff is always helpful! Super cool Records here. Definitely check this spot out!
Great record store with great CD and record selection. I highly recommend using the public parking instead of the parking located behind the store.
So glad Atlanta has a shop like this. Always fun and full of treasures. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable of all their merchandise.
One thing I can say about Criminal Records. The prices can be Criminal. They have a large selection considering they dont just do vinyl, but the prices are just too high.I like going to the store to pick up vinyl vs. Having it shipped. And some times a 1 or 3 dollars hit is not bad. In in many cases I have seen them as high as $7.00 or more. On used good conditions vinyl. Not to mention I bought brand new vinyl that was warped. Yes it happens sometimes, but for premium price. Nah. They are on the list... But for sure not my first choice.
Pretty cool place if youre into old format music, they have CDs as well as records I bought one of each. Pretty sure the CD was a bootleg but it worked fine so no real complaints.
By far the best record store I have ever visited. Great selection of comics and vinyl. The atmosphere was adorable and everything was very conveniently organized. They had a great selection of used records which I really enjoyed it also a really cute photo booth in the back. Youre in Atlanta definitely stop by Criminal Records-
I live walkable distance from Criminal, and it is a daily challenge not to come and explore the racks all the time. The more record stores I visit, the more elite I realize this pillar of Little 5 truly is. And only half of the store is records! They have a massive collection of comics and CDs too. The vibe here - between the customers and the staff - is one of focus and a certain seriousness about the entire vinyl realm.Of note, this is a pricier record store. The premium reflects the facilities and selection, which in my opinion, is worth it.
Nice record shop. My son loved going through all the old vinyl.
Very cool place for sure, decent prices and great selection
Ive gone in there over the years so many times. Ive bought so many comics and CDs. Im a native.
Great selection
I called in to ask about a particular book, to which the employee (who shall remain nameless) reported they did not have it. HOWEVER, he pointed me into multiple directions to going about obtaining this particular book, possibly due to his mutual interest in the content. That’s good customer service. I’m more inclined to stop by or say good things about CR by word of mouth, even though by extreme extent this employee is potentially risking driving away business.Theoretical -1 star for not having deeper tabletop gaming related goods, BUT it’s a record store; I was grasping at straws in the first place.
Huge selection of jazz including early pressings on blue note, prestige, and impulse. Highly recommend!
Quintessential record shop. Great place. Highly recommended.
Cant beat the prices
Awesome variety of records, CDs, cassette tapes, and ways to listen to all of those things. There are both new and used records, allowing you to find some cool finds, or go get the latest from your favorite band on vinyl. Definitely a cool place to check out.
Always a favorite of mine. Atlanta has many fantastic record stores but Criminal is a landmark shop in Atlanta. They sell compact discs, vinyl records and music memorabilia as well as comic books and other fun stuff. The prices are comprable for an inner-city record Shop and the extra dollar you may spend there is totally worth it due to the quality of even their used vinyl records. I couldnt imagine Atlanta without Criminal Records.
My favorite place for vinly. Huge variety and very well organized makes it easy to shop. Also knowledgeable staff. They can order for you as well. If youve never been stop in and try them out. You wont be disappointed.
Awesome & helpful staff. Nice variety/selection or records both new & old.
Its a very nice store, well kept, good variety, and organized. The prices are just so much higher than any other vinyl music seller that Ive been to. Id find it hard to return here unless they were the only place that had what I was looking for.
It was okay. But a little too modern for what I was looking for. I wanted to add to my vinyl collection and this looked more like an FYE then a used record store. The selection wasnt that great. The staff was really friendly and really helpful though.
Friendly staff, great selection of records, posters, and comic books! Im in love.
Cool staff, great vinyl selection. I live an hour and a half away but it is my go to for album shopping 🙌
Great employees, huge selection of music and comics and reasonable prices. checkout was fast and painless even though it was crowded.
