Great place and great staff. Just finished the handgun training and safety course taught by Maggie. She was a great instructor who was very knowledgeable and presented the course material with energy.

Not only was their conceal carry class great, their staff was knowledgeable, friendly and an overall great experience. Id recommend their range and staff to anyone.

All of my female cousins as well as myself came to the class at Athena. They were clean and knew their stuff! Our instructor made the class enjoyable and relatable to everyday situations. The class is affordable and they have deals throughout the week such as ladies night and date night. From military experienced to never even killing a fly they can teach you at any skill set. Get US law shield whatever you do you never know when you’ll need it!

I looked a long time for a place to take my CHP training. I did not pick a good place I picked the perfect place. The instructors were great knowledgeable, funny and blunt straight to the point about everything. Oh they also offer complimentary refreshments ( if you like that kind of thing). I used to love this place, great enviroment, great people, just a good time in general. But if feels like theres too much of the wrong type of salemanship going on in the last year or so. Too much buy this not enough check this cool stuff out. Also range prices feel like they went up at some point. My friend and I paid at least $50.00 for one lane (we shared a lane) for one hour the last 2 times.

This review only pertains to the CHP class offered at this range, I have not shot here on my own and cannot comment on the other facilities offered. I recently took a CHP class at Athena Arms and have to say I left fairly disappointed (enough to write this review). As a whole, the class is pretty good and Matt was a great and enthusiastic instructor. The part that bothered me was the significant amount of time (>1hr) spent on an advertisement for an insurance company. An outside speaker (salesman) was brought in to pitch an insurance product for a significant portion of the class. I paid to to learn all I can about concealed carry, not be sold insurance. If this was a five minute hey, we think insurance is important, here is a company we partner with that we recommend you use, and here is a list of others we think are good too, that would be just fine. This pitch was far too long and was only geared towards one specific company. I feel as though this time could be used in a much more efficient manner.

I had the pleasure of attending their CHP class today 2/20/2021, instructed by Maggie D and Miguel, I learned a lot along with some laughs in between. Everyone there is extremely helpful, patient, and really friendly. I cannot speak highly enough of the entire staff! Prices are reasonable, ammo is available, and a welcoming atmosphere!

I took a CHP class today. I took it for two reasons.1)Ive never shot or held a gun in my life. Im Kenyan our country doesnt allow Civilians to possess a forearm so it wasnt until coming to the US that I realized that it was a possibility. So I needed to familiarize myself with the law, handling a weapon and to determine if the gun I had in mind would work for me before I purchased it.2)I want a CHP.I was prepared to be met with scorn and a level of condescension for being a rookie surrounded by pros. I was met with understanding, a willingness to teach me and above all, knowledgeable people ready to make your learning process easy for you. Miguel was our instructor for the day. He was excellent. I left feeling more confident and empowered than I thought I would. He took the time to answer any questions without ridicule or judgment. He also made the class interesting which is important when youre in an all day class. I also met Maggie and afew other instructors and they were all amazing. They also accommodated my dyslexic husband with his written test and I cant tell you how grateful we both were for that. Well definitely be coming back to Anthena with any future needs and for practice. Words will never describe just how wonderful my experience was. Pay them a visit and experience it for yourself.

I have bought guns here as well as took their CHP class and everything was great. They provided lunch during the class as well as drinks and snacks. The gun purchasing experience was amazing. Everyone in there creates an environment that is fun and informational. The whole building is extremely clean and organized.

My son and I are first time shooters here so total noobs. Reese the owner was incredible! He gave us a ton of tips and real world advice. Well be taking some courses with him for sure. I couldnt recommend this local business more. Staff were all great and very helpful. They also have a huge selection of firearms to choose from and also to rent. Probably be buying my first handgun from Athena. Thank you very much for a great first time experience!

Maggie was great she is down to earth and has a very good way of making you understand the importance of being a responsible gun owner. She shared some of her life experience which really made it a fun class. My two sisters and a friend and I took the class and it went fast and we were the loud ones in the front row. She is a gift to Athena and should be treasured!

Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable regarding products. The CHP (CCW) class was very informative — NO AMMO shortage either! They’ve had 9mm, .223, .357 everytime I’ve been — unlike all other local places — I’ll definitely be coming here long term not just for the range, but for firearms, ammunition and accessories.

Friendly staff, great job of engagement as I was looking around. They did have a Thompson 45 ( priced appropriately) that I just about pulled the trigger on the purchase. I was fortunate to have attended Athenas (CHP) Concealed Handgun Permit Class Sunday 12/20/20. Our Instructors were Maggie and Matt. I took this course with a friend. I am a retired Police Detective of who served 30 years, my buddy is a 20 year Airforce veteran who is also now retired. So first off what an enjoyable fun day with an amazing group of people from diverse backgrounds age and gender who I know also had a fabulous day at Athena. Maggie and Matt of course the Stars of the show, informative, entertaining but most of all serious about the training they delivered to the class. Having served 30 years on the force I have been involved in thousands of critical incidents, many unfortunately involving the use of deadly force. I have also probably been the recipient of thousands of hours of firearms and defensive tactics training courses in my lifetime. I also have very close friends who are firearms instructors in both the Police and military. I cannot recommend Athena and their amazing staff both the instructors and sales staff highly enough. Maggie and Matt are not only exceptional firearms instructors but they are experts in the relevant law and policy that you need not only to successfully complete this training package, but ALL your training needs for the future. The course was run professionally, efficiently and most of all it was FUN. I know my buddy who had not shot a pistol for a while was somewhat nervous but the staff I can tell you are so patient, kind and understanding and nothing is too much trouble for them. Athenas priority is always safety first whilst ensuring you are completely comfortable and proficient with your firearm in the event you ever need to use it. This is the first course I have attended with Maggie as my Instructor. I can tell you she is a credit and invaluable asset to the Athena brand, as a strong, independent, hard working young lady and brand ambassador for Athena. So, why go anywhere else for all you firearm sales, parts, equipment and most of all firearms and related courses but Athena Arms. Thank you Maggie and Matt for all your hard work and dedication for making us and Nebraska a safer place to live.

I was looking for a special glock handgun online, during my search I found Athena Arms had one in stock on their website, I bought it online late Monday evening. After receiving the FFL dealers information they shipped it quickly and I had it that Friday. Every person I dealt with at Athena Arms on the phone or emails treated me with respect and appreciated me as a customer. I just wanted to write this review to thank Matt, Tristen and Reese for a trouble free online transaction.

This is a great business ran by great people. I have been to Athena probably three dozen times over the past year and never had one bad experience. They are knowledgeable enough to speak on any firearm questions you may have, but welcoming enough to not make you feel silly if you dont know as much as they do (which you wont). Over the past year the business has really felt like a place I know I am welcome even if I just want to go in and see friends. I think that is rare. Garrett, Reese, and the rest of the staff should be incredibly proud of Athena Arms. I took the Concealed Handgun Permit course about 2 months ago here at Athena and then purchased a gun from them. Every time I go in to shoot, the staff is nothing but friendly and professional. I was having a Mom/son day and his choice was to go to the Athena Arms one Sunday morning! I let Maggie (my friend/hairdresser), an employee at the range, know that we were going to be there that day. I personally have never held a real gun in my hand at all, and I was nervous about it. Greg, however, has been through Gun Safety class and hunts in Montana with his Dad and Uncle. I talked to Maggie and she decided to bring some of her guns so that we could try them out and I cant believe that I was able to hit the target even once. Maggie is a fantastic instructor! She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all guns, and is patient with her students. Greg was an ace shooter! Me, I was there for him, but I have to say, it was a good time of just learning something new. Plus the indoor range is fantastic and the staff there are all so incredibly nice! I know that we will be going back, I think I may sit it out (HA), but Greg will definitely continue perfecting his aim at Athena Arms. He is thinking about a membership so that he can go many times in a month! Thank you Athena Arms for the great mother/son day... but Maggie... You are the best!!! Thank you so very much!!!

NEW SHOOTERS READ PLEASE! Athena is incredibly welcoming and the staff genuinely made me feel so comfortable it was like walking into a family members home. Walking into a gun store/range as a new shooter can be intimidating. Ive had places here in NE that made me feel like I was walking on egg shells and that feeling is awful. I spent the better half of two hours just asking Miguel (sales consultant) and Matt (assistant manager) questions about the gun Id be purchasing. Throughout that time I kept apologizing because I felt guilty for my lack of knowledge. That guilt stemmed from being told by a local reputable firearm business to, go home and do more research. Athena was home for me and after constantly being reassured that it was okay to ask questions I wasnt as nervous. I purchased my first AR-15 and signed up as a platinum member the first time I walked in. Huge shoutout to Miguel and Matt for leaving such a great first impression!!!!

Have been coming here for about a year and have no complaints. Staff is always super helpful. Just this past weekend I completed my CHP course with Maggie and couldn’t be more satisfied.

I was there this past Saturday evening with a couple friends and we had a great time. Had a good time talking with the co-owner and one of the ladies that work there when we were done shooting. They have a nice selection of guns for sale and they dont mind you looking at them even if you arent in the market to buy. A very nice way to wrap up an evening.

I took my CHP class at Athena. The instructor was knowledgeable about the material to be covered, and was very pleasant. Being a first time handgun owner, there was never a point during my experience where I felt uncomfortable or unwelcome. The lanes were clean and the staff was very approachable!

I completed a CCW class there yesterday. The class was informative and it was cool to hear about our instructors personal experiences, along with the necessary concealed carry information. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and patient! I hadnt shot a handgun for a long time & they took the time to make sure I knew what I needed to know.I will be buying a new gun soon & will be going there, for sure. Prior to my class, I had done quite a bit of research on handguns. Their prices are comparable to or better than any other place I had checked out. In addition to price, the help I will receive from these great people will ensure I get the right gun. Great place & great people!

I had good experiences with the range and the first time I bought a gun here. I was looking for a particular gun and they ordered it for me. I was patient and when they got it in the contacted me and I went to look at it but they marked it up $100 over msrp. When I said the price I was expecting the guy was rude and made fun of me saying “you expected $600 for gun that’s sold out everywhere?” Took my business elsewhere and got it for the correct price. I waited a week so I could support a smaller business that’s local to me just to have it thrown back in my face. Won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone anymore.

I recently took a Concealed Handgun Permit course through NPD at Athena Arms. I came from Lincoln to attend the course because the price was the best I’ve seen.The CHP course instructor I had was Reese. He was an excellent instructor who took the job seriously and made sure everyone was tracking the whole course.Athena Arms also has a great and knowledgeable staff. I dealt with Maggie who was authentic and seemed to truly care about meeting the needs of everyone in the shop. The team here outperforms any range or courses I’ve been to. Helpful staff, consisting of veterans, a small but adequate selection of firearms. They will be happy to order anything they dont have in stock, so the small looking selection is far from whats available to those who are patient.Case selection is meagre but its all pretty good for a shop this new with little shelf space.They occasionally have really great deals that make a stop worthwhile.I dont regret making purchases here in the slightest.2020 UPDATE:Ive been so glad to see these guys and gals grow from what first started as a little hole in the wall into a full fledged range with all the bells and whistles.Everything is bigger and better, the selection, the courses, the staff and of course the service, always tip top and everyone can help you out with anything you need.The membership perks are really competitive too, ideal for my needs.I sure hope things keep getting better and better for them all!

I chose this establishment for my CHP purposes because they are veteran owned. Maggie D is an awesome instructor who has a unique ability to keep you interested and informed and is a little funny but real at the same time. It was a very refreshing change of pace to be able to sit in a class with an instructor who wasnt trying to impress me with their intellect and actually cared if I was learning what was necessary to be learned. I also got free lunch that day, Bonus!The rest of the staff are very knowledgeable and professional people as well as helpful and informed. I also like the fact that they employ more women than some others do. I think it greatly enhances their image and creates a more welcoming atmosphere. Very clean, easy to sign up for classes. Sogned up for safety and the CHP class. Instructors very knowledge and friendly. I had an issue with my handgun jammed when i was at home after cleaning it and putting together again. I called them for help and they said just come on in. Fixed it on the spot as im a beginner at this and didnt make me feel terrible about it. Ill be going here for more training and practice.

Since the day I walked in there the vibe the staff gives off is that you are welcome and that they want you there. Before Athena my neighbor took me to 88 tactical. I did not have shooting there. The people were pushy and talked down to you. At Athena arms you will never feel that way. Garrett will sit there and talk to you like you have been friends forever. The whole staff is like that Reese sorry if not spelled correctly knows alot about the inner workings and can answer any question you have if Garrett is not around and Maggie she is always so happy and good vibes me and my wife took our CHP with her. She made my wife so comfortable it was great and yes she my be a women but watch out guys she will school you overall I recommend this place to anyone who wants to got shoot

Called to find out what I needed to shoot there with my daughter with no experience and me having very little experience. Came in to shoot and found out I didn’t have a purchase permit for a firearm from the Sarpy County sheriff’s office so I couldn’t shoot. Was made to feel stupid for not knowing what that meant. Probably won’t be back.
