Friendly and bustling coffee joint that is within minutes of Harvard Square. We ordered a regular drip coffee and a cafe latte that were both very good. The staff is friendly and the prices are what you would expect from a trendy coffee place. We’ve been to the Blue Bottle location at the Ferry Building in San Francisco and this was not as busy as that location. Seating is hard to come by but you can probably find a table if you spy on others who look like they are packing up to leave. We’ll be back. Welcome to Boston, Blue Bottle!
Didnt get to try the coffee, upon arrival I saw the sign in the window saying temporarily closed they should update their website
Wonderful coffee house in the heart of Harvard Square. Very comfortable seating and the staff are very helpful in describing their different coffees and their flavors. One of the things I love the most about Blue Bottle is their commitment to sustainability. All of their cups, straws and lids are completely compostable! The only thing that I wish was more plentiful was outlets to charge your phone or laptop.
The place is aesthetically pleasing, very minimalistic with balanced colors. The staff was polite and helpful. The coffee was good, and the baked goods were delicious. We tried the chocolate croissant and the poppyseed lemon cake, and we really liked them.
Coffee was great! Had a good balance of herbal and fruity flavors! Perhaps when its less busy it will be a good place to chill and relax. But come and go is fine too! Its definitely not your big chain coffee joint, so dont come in with that expectation.
Been in a few times. Decent enough coffee shop. Really nicely designed space. Very heavy on the democratic socialist vibes though. Glad I wore my oxford shirt unbuttoned so people could see my full chest Bernie Sanders tattoo though!!!
I love to come here in the morning to enjoy an espresso by the window and read my book before class. The staff is really friendly and the espresso is rich and delicious. It can be a little pricey, so its more of an occasional treat than an everyday kind-of-thing (especially for college students).
This may have been the smoothest, tastiest latte of my life. I cant wait to come back and actually get a picture of the beautiful latte art!
Cool, alternative cafe with a minimalist vibe. Fast, friendly staff. Just outside of the heart of Harvard Square. Nice, big windows for watching the world go by.
Blue Bottle Coffee serves the best coffee in town, and for a coffee shop, thats all they need to earn a five star review.I had a cortado, which was excellent, and a cappuccino, which was also excellent. The minimalist decor is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and energetic. This place does have some flaws, but not enough to take off a star. I had a disappointing cinnamon coffee cake, and the music was too loud at times. The prices were steep, but you get what you pay for. Nobodys perfect.Id gladly go back to Blue Bottle. Theyve got the best coffee, and everything else is icing on the cake. Or, should I say, foam on the latte.
Without any doubt, this place has the best coffee around Harvard campus! One more + for the place: if you order a coffee to stay, it will be served in the normal cups and not paper or plastic ones. Good for our environment. And also stay hydrated, because they also offer water for free :)
Too much modern-y. Expensive. In my opinion, the layout needs to change, there is lots of open space that can be used as sitting space. Coffee was good.
Excellent quality and selection of drinks. Modern, welcoming aesthetics and friendly staff. Only downside is lack of outlets to charge a phone or laptop.
Great coffee and nice space to power through your research. Blue bottle initiated the specialty coffee trend and it has well and truly kept up with the market. It can be very hard to find a good flat white in the states but this place was more than up to the Aussie coffee standards.
Amazing place to stop by and have a coffee if you’re around the cambridge area. Good teas and okay food. I’d add a couple of healthy salad choices, and it would become wonderful!
Excellent coffee, friendly staff, and sleek, minimalist design. Price of coffee seems fair as rent for your seat with your book. Hard to get a seat sometimes, and a table for 2+ is often occupied by one person with a laptop. Would love to see Blue Bottle promote table sharing.
Great coffee, baked goods, some simple breakfast/lunch options. They sell good coffee beans that have been roasted recently. I recommend the drip coffee here.
Great coffee, and an especially excellent flat white with great options of oat and almond milk!
Over priced for what you get. There are numerous coffee shops where you can obtain the same or better quality for less on beverages. Limited selection of pastries are served here. Seating is limited.
The coffee is very good, but not good enough to justify the price. The inside is so modern its kind of scary. Glad I went once, wouldnt go again.
Corner cafe with friendly baristas in a clean, white, modern space. Limited menu and limited seating inside. This is not a place to curl up, read something, and enjoy some fancy coffee.Ordered a Cappuccino, it was hot but not scalding when served: I was able to enjoy it immediately. It was good but certainly not the best coffee option in Cambridge. However, we also ordered a green tea over ice that tasted bad. It had a dark putrid green color and while the taste was strong, it wasnt tasty. One sip was more than enough. I would not recommend ordering the tea.
I want to understand the fascination but I don’t. I swear they were better in San Francisco, but still Blue Bottle sells very expensive pour-over coffees and mediocre overpriced snacks. Some of their “sought after” coffee comes from conflict zones like Yemen, which seems morally-dubious for a $20 cup of joe.
Great coffee. I also love the super modern and minimalist decor.
Love the coffee. Love their minimalistic decor. Staff are friendly.
Best coffee I ever had in my life. Definitely will be a regular customer.
Blue bottle is always good! And this one is much less crowded than the one in prudential center!
Im writing this review from the Starbucks across the street...BECAUSE THERE IS NO WI-FI.What. the. heck. Blue. Bottle. This is a simple, fundamental, aspect of being a coffee shop in the 21st century. Your coffee suffices. Your snacks are pretty tasty as well. But not affording your customers the ability to freely browse the internet at ultra-high speeds really takes away from the experience. Consider yourselves warned.3 stars.
THE Blue Bottle roaster from Oakland is here! (and open) Not your typical chain coffee joint. Quality coffee is what youre here for, if you want a $2 coffee you have DD on every other block.Very nice space to get an excellent cup of coffee. I bought beans from here and they all seem to be coming from the Brooklyn roaster location. The company has high levels of quality control so it will probably be consistent to what you order online. (Online orders come from the Oakland, CA facility. Yes, even orders coming from the East Coast.)I went on a rainy muggy Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of seats and it was not too crowded. I could see this place getting crowded when tourist season comes around. So beware of long lines once this place is on everyones radar.
Excellent pour-over, espresso, and cold brew coffee... and some pastries. Not cheap.
Great place and great coffee. Only tried it a few time while staying around Harvard, but definitely the best cappuccino while in Boston. They had difficulties with my name, but they always do ;-)
I love the coffee here, definitely my favorite spot for coffee near Harvard. It often gets pretty busy and is not quick though
Truly delicious coffee and waffle. Friendly staff... A bit sterile, but Im glad there is no wifi so all the seats arent occupied by people working instead of enjoying their coffee.
The coffee is a work of art and delicious 😋👌👍 can never have too much good coffee 😊
Quality coffee and a nice sunny respite in busy Harvard Square area
I was hyped up about this place as I have seen many influencers heading to blue bottle coffee in California. I got a cappuccino and a sea salt cookie. The cookie was really good( it had a bit toomuch sea salt, which can be removed). The cappuccino was made right but perhaps the roast they used didn’t impress my taste buds. The staff wasn’t too friendly, but it was also 30minutes before closing time. I would recommend going here and trying it out once though.
Very clean design, coffee was good. No outlets in the whole coffee shop
Very nice lemon poppyseed cake. Totally insipid $5 Papua New Guinea pour-over. Wont be back.
The coffee is amazing, but cant believe they rely on Harvard WiFi for their place. If your goal is working on your laptop, not the best place. Will go to Starbucks for working
Not a fan. Overpriced, cold hospital-like atmosphere, no decor. Feels less like what a cozy coffee shop should be...they are trying too hard with the minamalism look. Id rather walk over to one of the independent coffee shops that are unique to Harvard rather than this chain that feels so impersonal.
Excellent coffee and very beautiful design. Gets busy but nice for chatting with friends.
King of cold brew! Love their New Orleans. It’s great to have one on campus
I really like this place. The best coffee around
Friendly service. Could be kept a bit cleaner
Small but clean, nice selection, decent latte, it could use better acoustics, though.
Good coffee. Wish they had better seating.
The coffee was great but too pricey. Doesnt seem to have WiFi and the outlet situation left much to be desired. Its not a coffee shop for long-term work
Beautiful place in an historic building. So happy to have this fab coffee in Harvard Square.
Loveeeee this place!! so glad Blue Bottle made it to Boston, they make the most delicious coffees and also serve Oatly as a milk substitute.. tastes amazing in cappuccinos and lattes
Should have known going in... but it was more ridiculous than I could have ever imagined. A 12 oz cup of drip coffee costs you 5.35 and then you wait 10 minutes for them to hand pour what tastes almost identical to Dunkin’ Donuts. It’s dirty literally dirty bean water, that’s what coffee is. A cup of dirty bean water doesn’t need to cost 5.35. What’s wrong with people? Who in their right mind thinks that’s reasonable? Also can you really not afford your own WiFi while you charge people SO much money for dirty bean water? Seems pretty cheap and stingy.
Good coffee, but a bit pricey. Seating is limited, so you often have to wait for a seat. It is probably too crowded to get any work done.
A very nice place with a wonderful Staff.
I had a lot of fun here. I had a latte and a saffron snickerdoodle cookie --- the cookie was a little underbaked, but I liked it anyway. The decor is very clean and minimal. I wish they had more seating/space though.
Coffee tasted so good, but there’s no WiFi if you planned to work!
Coffee was very good but we have wait long because it was very crowded when we were there.
What more can I say. Its Blue Bottle. Good coffee as usual.
Excellent coffee, but quite pricey (yes, even for the city)!
The coffee is always fantastic for a chain, however the last liege waffle I had definitely had bits of black stuck to it from there waffle iron
Coffee was awesome but there was no free Wi-Fi.
Great coffee and amazing customer service
Waited over 20 minutes for a cup of coffee. bad vibes inside too. if you want to be a yuppie and waste your time, go here.
Really like their style, but its not a good place if you want to do some work on your laptop and have a coffee. A little bit noisy I think.
Great coffee but the atmosphere is a little cold (decor and people on their laptop)
Delicious coffee, the best in Harvard Square.
No power outlets, strange! Other things are good
A little too hip but really delicious coffee
Their coffee will delight your tastebuds!
Great cup of coffee and friendly baristas!! A tad on the pricey side but its quality beans.
Yummy pastries and sandwiches with an Israeli authenticity.
Great cold brew! Always worth the trip in when nearby.
Good coffee, have an oji coffee dripper for cold brew which is amazing, and the cascara fizz which is a wonderful drink which I recommend highly.
Fantastic iced coffee and the staff is always so fantastic! Love this place!
Minimalist, great coffee, great baristas. Pricey. +1$ for almond milk
Coffees good, but choose the right time of year to go because it is student central and seating can be difficult.
Best coffee I’ve had in a long time, not the easiest to find, but well worth it.
Great Coffee, no outlets or public Wi-Fi (for non Harvard students)
