They never have enough stockers here and there is always a line. The store all in all is better than the one in Fruitland, but they do more employees to make the shopping experience quicker.

A decent place. If youve been to dollar stores you know what to expect. This one is about average.

I like the deals, if they have it in stock. Never cleaned and always trashy looking. Not at all like other dollar generals Ive been to.

Closes early now. The one on Broadway in Cape Girardeau closes at 8 pm every night..

The most rundown dollar general store i have ever been in. Nasty floors missing floor tiles. Dripping ceiling by entrance with a large container full of water. Staff was friendly.I remember Years ago this was a premier shopping center. What happen Corp?

This store has a serious register issue. Every time I go I know my total with tax and its never correct. I did have luck this time finding a good cashier that could actually do basic math and understood that the register was wrong. Most of the time I end up leaving my basket and saying forget it.

Its not to far from where I live and it has propane refills too. I shop at DOLLAR GENERAL for movie night and weekend family get togethers.

This place always has one worker with one very long checkout line, its not very organized (clean) and they dont enforce masks.

This was the filthiest dollar general store I have ever been in. There were things shoved everywhere and couldnt find any prices on items. The floors looked like they had not been mopped in at least a month. They were black all over.

Its always busy and its always 2 workers one on the floor and the other one checking out .

Edit 4-5-2021Over 8 months ago they moved the shelving around but did not clean/replace even the permanently dirty floor tiles. This doesnt look very good when you walk in. Its in an area of Cape Girardeau that has a high volume of traffic going through the Plaza. With all the shoppers that do stop in, an extra worker would be helpful in the evening.I will never forget this visit. Out of all the Dollar General stores I have been to, this was the worst experience ever. I went in to get one item and looked for several minutes before asking the person where it was. The employee pointed to the back of the left corner told me what it was next to with little eye contact and still focused on stocking a shelf. I asked if she would show me and was told again where and I would see it since she said there were plenty of them. I spent 10 minutes very carefully looking in the area and around it again and still couldnt locate it. I just left and dont intend to ever return.

Store remodel looks better than before. You cant beat $3 bath towels when in a rush or dieing your hair. Parking just isnt ideal anymore. IDK if thats the strip Mall owners fault tho

Their Digital Coupons HARDLY EVER WORK! And Ive gone in there on Saturday and spent 25 plus dollars and Not Only did NONE of my Digital Coupons work on the Sale Ad products Advertised, but I Didnt Get my 5.00 off for spending 25.00 or more!!! And Im not the only one this happens to cause Ive witnessed other shoppers going through the exact same problems! Its so aggravating, i wait and buy these certain things and use the digital coupons, especially on Saturday for the extra 5.00 off but Benton Dollar Store is The Worst when it comes to getting your credits for using their digital services! Ill start going elsewhere. So I CAN SAVE THE MONEY!

This Dollar General was such a pleasant experience after the miserable one at the one on Broadway here. This one has been reset and looked nice, i found what i needed, help was available and checkout was easy. I only went here because every place else was crazy busy with Christmas shoppers. Im glad I did.

Overwirked, rude, ill tempered employees are just a fraction of the problems with this particular Dollar General location.The manager, Sabrina, consistently fails to schedule sufficient staff on Fridays...payday for most people. So at the end of a long day at work, a frustrating wait in line at the bank after rushing to get there before they close, you can not only expect, but be virtually guaranteed that you will be standing in a line, sighing and rolling your eyes, and wondering why there is only one cashier and one stocker (save your time and effort, the stocker will not come help ring people up ).Overlooking for a moment, if thats possible by the time youve stood in line for upwards of 20 minutes, the condition of the store itself shows the managers considerable lack of ability to manage anything but creating a very long wait to be rung up by a sour faced employee. The shelves are either overwhelmed with products or underwhelmed (empty or very nearly empty).In all fairness Ive spoken with the cashiers and they are under duress because of the lack of management by Sabrina, placing them on shift alone. Miss T and the young guy with glasses (sorry I dont know your name) are pleasant and helpful and despite the work load being clearly too much to be completed correctly, they are unflagging in thier efforts showing a spectacular work ethic under less than spectacular conditions.I highly recommend you find ANYwhere else to shop, especially on fridays.^^Note^^ The cleanest, most organized dollar general with the nicest employees Ive met, is in Clarkton, MO

I shop here often. Most of the time they are out of the items that are online for the digital coupons. Staff is ALWAYS rude and the store is EXTREMELY dirty!! ALWAYS a very long line to check out!! Only one register open with 2 other employees walking around on break or doing whatever they do in the back. Always too busy to come help check out customers. If you are in a hurry.....dont stop here!!! I dont understand some of the other reviews saying staff is friendly and helpful? Must be employees writing them or they are talking about a different location?!

It took forever to get waited on. The line was all backed up and the customer was being rude. The cashier was saying sorry. She was yelling for this Richard to come help and he never responded until people went looking for him. It was awful.

They never have enough staff on hand. The store is frequently in disarray because one or two employees working at a time simply is not enough to keep up with all the duties they have. As a result of being overworked and underpaid Im certain, staff members are frequently irritable and inpatient.
