Rose L. is the best cosmetologist Ive had the luck to stumble across since moving down to the area from Minneapolis. Ive never had anyone make my hair so soft, shiny, and healthy just by cutting it (she uses a special method)! She is highly knowledgeable, takes tons of pride in her work, and is kind, professional and fun throughout the appointment. Everytime I ask for her advice about my hair/look she is dead on the money and honestly, Ive realized I should listen to her ideas before my own. I highly recommend everyone book an appointment with Rose!

Not bad, there was one girl that helped me, but she kept getting interrupted by I’m assuming it was the manager who kept yelling back at the salon to “ watch the video before 5!” And when I ask this lady ( the other girl had to help ring out ) where the product called ordinary skin cream was she snapped at me” it’s right behind you “ I won’t go back if this happens again, she was rude and kept snapping at the employees, and they’re lucky they have anyone since no one wants to work anymore Tall lady with curly hair, very snappy not very nice

Been going here for over a year and Emily (one of the stylists) has never messed up my hair once. Never knew exactly what I wanted every time I got it cut or colored so I gave her a little free range to put her opinion in on it and Ive loved how it turned out each time. This was just one of the previous times when I cut about 6 inches off. So shes good with both long and shorter hair. :)

Just had my brows done and tinted and waxed by Cherrelle . Best job I’ve ever had done! Couldn’t recommend her enough.

My daughters love getting their cosmetics at Ulta. A bit pricey, but they always have whatever they are looking to buy.

The mall only has one door working nearest this location, meaning you cannot enter safely and avoid people. They also do not have curbside pickup. Too many people in the store at the checkout not social distancing.Avoid until COVID is over.

My wife loves the products they carry. This is a review for the Carbondale location. We were just at this location and walked out without purchasing anything. Big deal for us as we normally spend a couple hundred dollars in the store every month. My wife asked an associate for help locating a product and the girl was snippy and rude just to find out they don’t have the brand yet they do. This rude girl just didn’t want to help us. Good thing Sephora has the same thing my wife buys because Ulta will never get my business again.

Relatively expensive but good customer service and products

This salon is amazing! Me and my husband received the greatest service at this location. The salon manager, Jamie did an amazing job on my hair color, highlights, and cut! I will not ever go to anyone other than her now! She really know so much about hair! My hair is so soft, silky, and healthy looking. I have people stop me all the time and ask me where I got my hair color and haircut done at... I tell at Ulta Beauty and Jamie and her expertise. Jamie goes above and beyond to make sure I have a great customer service.

Me and my wife went to Ulta to get haircut. They did a fantastic job. My wife is so picky and she decided to get her hair colored. I thought oh my.....thinking this doesn’t always go well for her previously at other salons that we’ve visited in the past. I was shocked because she walked out of Ulta the happiest that I’ve ever seen her. My wife looks amazing and best of all......she is so happy. If she’s happy then I’m happy. Thanks for the great job! Every time I go in to get my hair done I have gotten impeccable service! The girls there take the time to customize a plan that is perfect for my hair and it comes out beautifully every time! I get so many compliments on it! I will definitely go there every time!

I cant figure out how to leave two separate reviews because I thought I had left another review awhile back but couldnt find it. AnywayMason is an amazing, talented artist. He has a great personality and makes every appointment just a fun, easy, and enjoyable time. I was super late for an appointment recently but he was so kind he didnt mind to stay and finish my hair and even styled it etc I swear he can do any color ^_^ and loves to help anyone find the best products etc. I highly recommend him!Emily at the hair salon is simply incredible. She can cut, color, and style any hair. She truly has a great, fun attitude and personality. Shes an amazing artist :) she loves to listen to her clients and provide/create their perfect hair. I highly recommend her!Both of these artists are different in their own ways, but they are so talented, and Im so blessed to know these two amazing artists!

I love this place. Love my haircut. The manager Jamie Cameron cut and styled my hair. She was very nice and friendly. Ask how I wanted my haircut. And did exactly as I asked. I got so many compliments on it. I have had some bad experiences before from other salons. I will never let anyone do anything to my hair except Janie at Ultra. Was very pleased.

Just terrible. I Traveled a hour Today to pick up my birthday gift. As soon as I walked to the doors the woman walked over towards me to hurry and shut then locked the doors on me and gave me a rude look.

LOVE how I look and feel when I come out of the salon at Ulta! Emily is extremely talented, I have been going to her since I moved here a few years ago. Very creative and knowledgeable. Shes a fantastic colorist! I also love the points I earn for free products and all the coupons, offers and free samples I receive through their rewards program.

Emily is amazing at doing hair. I have had many haircuts and the ones she has done for me have been the best ever. I have never been disappointed and will continue to go to her forever. She know my natural tints and can match my hair color to fit me like no other. She is the best and I love this store.

I love how Jamie Cameron does my hair, from color to to beautiful curls. She is so talented! I even had her my nails. Her amazing manicure lasted me for a month with no chips. I couldnt believe it! She has so much experience and knows exactly what to do, everytime. I cant wait till my next visit.

The workers are so rude. They look and stare at you, making you feel super uncomfortable. They make you feel like you don’t belong. Ulta Corporate should for sure check this store out and do some investigating because from what I heard this place is corrupt. I even got the Ulta credit card to BUY stuff because I LOVE Ulta but this specific location is terrible and the store manager needs to keep her employees in check.

Emily has been cutting my hair for years and is the BEST! She has great advice for what kinds of cuts work best for me, and is fantastic with color. I have gotten all sorts of color put in my hair (including green!) and it always comes out spectacular. I wish I could give her 10 stars!

This review is for the salon. The first time I went to have my hair done I got great service from Joy (now my regular) she was just starting at the time at Ulta and was being watched by the manager Jaime. Jamie was very rude and did not help me decide anything. Rather than letting Joy and I talk about my hair she kept interrupting and telling me what I should do with no disregard for my preferences. She finally walked away in a huff but let me tell you I would never let her touch my hair!Joy is one of the best there I would HIGHLY recommend her!

Ive been going to the salon at Ulta regularly since last fall. Ive never had a bad experience. Everyone is always helpful and friendly. Jazlyn does an amazing job with my hair and makeup. The cosmetologist are always learning new techniques and are quite knowledgeable about products. I even got my very first facial there last week. Amanda made my face look fresh and feel smoother than it has in years. Also, I recently had eye surgery which required me to throw away all of my eye makeup and replace it. The sales associates helped me find exactly what I was looking for. They suggested new products I ended up loving and they helped me find my old favorites too.

Really nice cosmetics/beauty store, with a large variety. I love the Ulta membership! Great savings and love the rewards. I dont like that the points expire, but thats not this locations fault. As far as this store goes, its clean, well organized, with a nice staff. A lot of drugstore brand items sold here are more expensive.

Took my GF; the stylist was patient; the check-out lady didnt take the better first-time stylist promo of 20%, but took a referral coupon for $10 off for $100+ hair job... Color came out great but lasted about a week even with special shampoo for it. Very text book hair cut with little personality projecting the stylists expertise and ability. Needed input from client to layer and where to layer it. I recommend if you know every detail about the purchase and know exactly what you want out of your stylist. Over all would not recommend to friends or family.

I previously had what seemed to be a bad experience with Ulta Salon. But, the Salon manager reached out to me and apologized and talking to her, I discovered it was all a misunderstanding and some confusion. Social media doesnt seem the best way to go about booking appointments because it can cause some confusion. So, now that I have gotten the truth of what happened, and the manager has assured me that this confusion with social media will change, I am happy to say that I recommend Ulta Salon. I was always happy with the work I had done on my hair there. And I am happy this was just a misunderstanding that was able to be resolved. I think I will go back one day for their hair services. And I hope nothing like this will happen again in the future.

Just left Ulta. Had been scheduled to have my nails done. Person I see was not there. After some looking the young lady at the desk informed me that Ulta no longer provides nail services! I had several future appointments scheduled. Did not even receive a call telling me about the change! The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of Jamie. She does a really good job. Unfortunately other areas of customer service seems to be lacking.

Love Ulta and the salon is the only place I go to to get my hair done. Never have had trouble with keeping my hair color once I switched to the special shampooo and conditioner. Emily is an awesome stylist and the only person I trust to mess with my hair, weve gone from brown to platinum to red and its looked awesome every time thanks to her!

I’ve had my eyes on the Becca ultimate coverage creme foundation for a while. I was gonna purchase it but thought considering the price I would get a small sample first. I was wrong to think that. One of the workers had to call someone else and ask them. Apparently Becca isn’t a foundation they give a small sample of. Then she suggested I get a sample of something else 😏. I just said ok and carried on. I still made a purchase that day of an even pricier item. Even though I was truly disappointed 😔 in the customer service. I’m a makeup enthusiast that recently moved back to this area. The Ulta that I’m accustomed to in the St. Louis area is nothing like this. Thank God for the new Sephora in the mall. I will not be shopping at this Ulta again.

This is a tough 2*, as my daughter and I really enjoy Ulta.We went there on Monday (2 days ago) - it was me, my daughter (who dances, sings and just discovered her love of acting; i.e. wears make-up on a semi regular basis at 9 yo) and her best friend (also a dancer).We are usually greeted, and all were excited about playing with new items and making larger (over $300+ combined before my discounts, points when it was all said and done) purchases. No one was in sight to help us...or anyone else in store.Wanting to make the best of it, I sat my girls down in the Clinique chairs/table (we are Urban Decay fans - but a mother/daughter were already there trying products on their own too.) - so I proceeded over the next hour to run back in forth, trying to find foundation, eyebrow tamer, concealer, setting spray, mascara - not to mention cleansers, tester applicators, etc.! Ugh, I was sweating...We settled on several Urban Decay items, a couple Clinique (one of us had a Free Gift offer), then found awesome Neutrogena products - got enough for the Free Gift, a larger than normal of Kenra setting spray (for another in-store promo of Free mini Shampoo/Conditioner) and Ulta make-up setting spray brush cleaner, brushes (due to their quality, price and in-store promo of a Tote or Water Bottle). For fun, we added two half price Make-up Kits and a few other a la carte goodies!Well...here are the issues; and why I didnt end up asking where my missing Free Gifts went.We had a TON of items, all of a sudden there was a line if women behind us wanting to checkout, and the gal aassiting us at checkout seemed pretty new.The make-up kits rang up wrong - so a manager had to fix them...and thankfully started assisting other customers.(Keep in mind too, that after 2 hours of shopping with 2 girls, Im beat too - since I had to play sales associate, make-up artist AND mom...)The gal didnt give us our Neutrogena gift, so I politely asked, she got it. Asked about the Kenra (she was soooo lost back there) - but when we got home, realized she only gave us the Shampoo - NO Conditioner. And silly me...I (yes I) forgot to ask her, the Ulta sales associate about the Free Ulta Water Bottle or Tote - so we received NOTHING.Usually the gals are on it, happily assisting in-store, and piling up the Free Gifts as excited as I am.Why Mondays experience was so poor, and left me feeling honestly a bit cheated, happened Im not sure?!I thought about calling the MOD yesterday (but honestly the girls and I were on the go till 5pm) or today - but wasnt sure they would care or listen or say we were probably out, but the gals ALWAYS (except this one) apologize, advise and sometimes substitute when a gift or gifts are out, so....?I also had to ask her multiple times to use my (you know they are rare!) 20% off coupon. 🙄NOT a good experience - good luck to those shopping this week, may YOU receive good in-house customer service and assistance, and ALL the goodies and gifts due you!

I just made my 3rd wasted trip from Marion to Carbondale on my only day off this week to get Ulta brand finishing pressed face powder (fair to light) after being told for 3 weeks that it will be in the next shipment they receive. A nice sales clerk actually took the time this trip to scan the product (Thank you to her!) to find that they not only had zero items in stock but were not expecting any more.... Im also disappointed that my hair spray (Big Sexy/Stay and Play Harder wasnt on sale this week. (No ones fault!) I mentioned going to pick up this hair spray at Walmart because their salon sold it cheaper than Ultas full price and was told to be careful, Walmart water theirs down and sell products that others have had problems with.... Seriously?? Yeah, right....Geesh! Come on Ulta....You can do better than that! I know life has bigger problems than these however it is very frustrating to waste time (and gas!) like this on your day off when you have dozens of other things that need attention.

This 1-star rating is for the Salon not the store in general. I called to book a hair appointment for an all over color and cut with a certain stylist there and I was told they could fit me in after another appointment of hers. She repeated back to me the wrong service I needed, so I corrected her and she said she had it noted and would see me the next day. I showed up a little early for my appointment and stood at the salon desk for more than 15 minutes without acknowledgement, and finally a stylist (who was doing someone’s hair) came and assisted me. She told me she was the one booked to do my hair and was supposed to be off in an hour and she was sorry for someone booking it like that, and that they’ve moved me to another stylist who was on lunch. She asked if I wanted an all over highlight and I said no an all over color (which the girl on the phone said she had fixed). So at this point I get skeptical but really want my hair done so I agree to wait for the other stylist. 20 minutes later (half an hour past my appointment time) Jamie the salon manager comes back from her break, reeking like smoke may I add and I’m not sensitive to the smell so it was pretty bad to notice it. She calls the original stylist over who already told me she couldn’t help me and asks her if she can get my hair done in 45 minutes (a cut and color) & the stylist looks at her and tells her no she can’t because she would feel rushed and wouldn’t be able to give me the attention I need (which I really appreciated). Jamie proceeded to stare the stylist down and ask her if she would start my process and she (Jamie) would come back to give my cut. I don’t like two stylists switching in the middle of my hair being done, so Jamie finally sighed (yes a manager sighed about doing her job) and said she would do it. She proceeds to bring me back a price quote for $225, which is laughably ridiculous because I didn’t want to switch stylists in the first place so why pay the managers high rate when that’s not what I booked for. She then brings me back a bill for $125 and says she needs to price check it once more, when she comes back she shows me a quote for $185 and again I laugh. She then tells me, “she could possibly take off these two treatments” (that total over $40 and I didn’t ask for) and I asked who was set to do my hair NOW because she didn’t say “I could”. She proceeds to tell me she’s passed me off to another stylist (who already had a client in her chair). I laugh and tell her no thank you, and she condisendingly asks me, “so then what is your budget?!” I tell her my budget was with my original stylist and I didn’t ask to be passed around to two other people with higher rates and it wasn’t fair to over book one of her own stylists. She then gets extremely rude with me and tells me that the original stylist was not over booked and should’ve been able to help me in the 45 minutes she had. I laughed again and got up to put my jacket on while she rips up the price quote and practically spits out a “have a nice day” at me and walks away.So Carbondale Ulta I will ask you, why would you employ a manager who clearly doesn’t want to be there doing hair as a SALON manager, is rude and disregards the wishes of her own stylists, is condisending and rude to paying clients, and reeks like she hot boxed with a pack of cigarettes on her break when her salon is swamped and over booked? I will not be back nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. You should probably find someone who helps and empowers their stylists and is willing to help a client out instead of lose them.So I proceeded to spend my hair money on some makeup with the help of a few different ladies around the store. The store is clean and all of the beauty advisors were there with smiles on and were extremely helpful. This review is in no way directed towards them.

I went into this store looking to find a full set of face products (preparing to spend a good amount of money). There was only one lady willing to help me when I walked in, but admitted she wasnt very good at matching makeup with skin tones and went to get a second lady. The second lady recommended only one foundation after I told her I needed pretty much everything but brushes and eye products, and that I had no clue what products I needed (I have only had drugstore foundation and products my whole life). She matched the one foundation to my face and then told me that they were out and that I could just order it online and then walked away. I walked out almost in tears feeling that I was a burden in this store. I walked down to Sephora in JCP and they spent over an hour to set me up with absolutely everything I needed. I will never step foot into another ULTA store ever again.. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!

I feel as if they are always out of everything ..and also very very sloppy. messy makeup ..not very friendly staff except Arial who is amazingly knowledgeable. if everyone there were like her i would go more. but they seem very immature and it takes FOREVER to check out as they seem to all have issues with computer. never ever have the items in stick im looking for Needs some overhauling and cleaning for sure

If you are looking for a place to get your eyebrows or upper lip waxed, this is not the place to go.I have had many positive experiences with Hannah, the brow bar specialist, in the past. However, she is relocating. The person hired in her place is AWFUL. I paid $28 to have the lip and brow package done and didnt even receive half of the services I should have. When I spoke to the manager about this, she offered me 10% off. Please note that is less than $3. Not only that, but my lip looks TERRIBLE. There is still visible hair everywhere. My eyebrows look OKAY, but not anything like they should for $28.In addition, this new replacement talked me into a facial where she told me about the “spirits” the entire time. She asked me questions regarding my age, interests, and even blood type. This was by far out of my comfort zone and irrelevant to having a face mask put on.Ultra in Carbondale, you may have officially lost my business this time. I am extremely disappointed and hate that I spent my days paycheck in your “salon”.

Got my hair cut and washed at the salon here and it was very pleasant and my hair turned out great. Also love all the options for products that they provide and that you can try out a quite a few of them before buying by using the testers they have out. Def going back for the Bye Bye UnderEye and some of those IT cosmetics. Only downside to Ulta is they usually dont have a lot of the products in store that they advertise in the magazine you get in the mail. That and Ive noticed they sometimes dont even have the products online either which is weird. Was hoping to jump on the Colourpop + Animal Crossing cosmetics that came out but cant find it in the store or online. So a bit dissapointed in that area.

I came in and asked for an ombre, I had to make two appointments for it costing over $400. The results look nothing like what I asked for and my hair is ruined. My skin on my and face is also dyed and the peach fuzz along my jaw was dyed black. I was refunded part of the price for my services and they even took away my rewards points from it! I am extremely disappointed and my hair is a frizzy mess.
