I definitely had some misconceptions about this place. When you walk in, the staff will confidently tell you, Everything we have is made from scratch, We use only the finest ingredients... Yeah, sure. Heard it all before. Didnt expect much.But yall... I was wrong. Ive tried a lot of bakeries around here, and this is one of the few that actually live up to the hype. The baked goods all have such rich, complex flavors, and the ice cream is the tastiest, creamiest ice cream Ive ever had in my life. Its so worth it if youre in the area. I dont even live around here anymore, but Ill still make the drive back just to have some more.

My husband and I visited this bakery for an afternoon treat. The ice cream and pastries are delicious! I had the boujee chocolate chip cookie topped with Tahitian vanilla ice cream. The customer service was also fantastic. The owners were very pleasant to my husband.

Normally, I dont review after 2 visits but this place is a hidden gem. Everything is made from scratch and delicious and they have such a wide variety to choose from.Nice atmosphere and the staff is friendly and helpful. After reading great reviews on Nextdoor, I decided to stop by and check out their offerings. To my surprise, freshly made Hummingbird cake is offered along with various chess pies, cakes, cookies and homemade ice cream. I purchased several desserts and each one was amazing. Ice cream is fabulous too. Devious Desserts is a nice addition to the neighborhood. I didn’t catch the gentlemen’s name working the counter but he was super friendly too. Highly recommend!

Knowledgeable and friendly staff, small business, family atmosphere. Chef Meriel herself is very sweet and it’s easy to tel she loves what she does. We tried the Cassava cake, lemon blueberry cheesecake bar, Vietnamese cinnamon ice cream, and fruity pebble ice cream. I’m not a fan of overly sweet desserts, and chef Meriel finds the perfect balance in everything she makes (at least what I’ve tried so far, and the menu is vast). The walls are decorated with art available for purchase from local artists’. I’ll definitely keep coming back to try more! If I had any critique, it’s that the prices are TOO low for the quality of goods!

We came to try the ube pie which was sadly out of season. We tried the cafe cubano ice cream, which is the best coffee ice cream I’ve had.

Amazing ice cream and pastries! The ube ice cream is a must try. The hummingbird spice cake is lovely. The space is clean, charming, and inviting. Just the scents of the baked treats is a delight. The chef owner is gracious, friendly, and professional. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. We will be going back and bringing friends and family.

I had the corn pops ice cream and it was delicious. I also had a pineapple pie and it was ok, a little too rich for me. I loved that everything was homemade on site. That is always great. I will definitely go back. They are a lite pricey, but the quality matched the price.

Definitely an underrated place! I think the area its in might make it hard to notice but wow, they have amazing ice cream! I had a scoop of the strawberry lychee (which was my absolute favorite) and the green tea jasmine, which was also delicious. The workers were super friendly and introduced us to their place nicely, it was a great first experience there. It might be slightly pricey to a few, but I think considering the fact that they hand make almost everything they sell makes up for it. They also have a great variety of baked items and ice cream, all of which I want to try. We will definitely come back soon :)

Im loyal to my Bluebell as a Texan, but the ice cream was decedent and delish! You could actually taste the homemade love.

Everything Ive had from here is terrible. The cookies and blondies have absolutely no flavor and the chocolate is not even sweet! The descriptions do not match the product definitely wont be buying from here again!

I wanted to like it so much more. Maybe my expectations tainted my experience? The blueberry lemon cheesecake left me wanting more cream cheese and less crumble, and the blueberries (no fault of the chef) were overly sour, probably not ripe. The berry hibiscus ice cream was either low on hibiscus or it may have used a different type of hibiscus than Im used to. I hoped for a strong, sour hibiscus-tanginness to shine through, but all I got was berry. The service was excellent - I felt welcomed and had all of my questions answered and more. This just may not be my type of dessert.

When I say everything thing here is delicious- I mean EVERY SINGLE thing! The Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake bars are my favorite though!

The inside was charming and clean. The staff was super friendly and sweet!! I enjoyed the ice cream. It was not greasy and felt light. Also, it wasn’t overly sweet. The brownie on the other hand was dense and I had a hard time eating it. Overall, I would definitely recommend the ice cream and will be back!

I purchased three different pastries to share with some coworkers and found them to be just okay but for $5 a piece I expected more. They werent very sweet and I could taste mostly plain flour rather than other ingredients.

I AM GLAD I DID!However, I have a been a long time fan of Devious Desserts from their Deep Ellum location so I make the trek to visit the full sized store since I am lactose intolerant with limited ice cream options.This location is immaculate and laid out with art work available for purchase. A lovely cute day date meet up or even a space with wifi to catch up on emails.Since the staff hand makes and bakes they know their ingredients and can offer suggestions for those with food allergies.

VERY VERY over priced and on the second visit, there was a FLY inside the desert display. When I pointed it out, she (the owner) said she was sorry and let us walk out. We waited in the car right in front of the shop to see if she was going to discard the cakes and pastries the fly had been on.....after 10 minutes all she had done was get the fly to get out of the enclosed space....I doubt she threw away all that profit behind a nasty egg laying fly that she wont have to eat behind! Negative 3 stars!!!

Unique ice cream flavors. Family enjoyed their ice cream choices : salted chocolate, café cubano and mango and brown butter pecan. Pastries looked good, will try them next time.

The bourbon pecan pie with Vietnamese cinnamon ice cream on it was fantastic. The lemon blueberry cheese cake is amazing.

Ordered Uber eats. Food came looking yummy. A fruit bar, sweet potato pie, and the chocolate cookie. The pie was the only thing I ate, though it was fairly bland unfortunately. Didn’t like either of the other 2 things. Pretty disappointed.

I go here every time after a good tournament. My favorite is brown butter pecan and the lavender one. Ic you are bummed out of store bought ice cream then come here! It is worth it. Ive been here twice. The first time I got halo halo ice cream, it was good. The second time I got thai tea (to go), it melted in my car. I didnt feel welcomed in the shop - in fact, I felt like I was a bother when asked for a lid for the container. They were not busy, I was the only customer at that time so the attitude was unexpected.

Why is that my concern?The baker/manger treated the employee like a robot, before her finished one task was already telling him what to do next. The poor employee looked so miserable even with his face mask on. Overall disappointing visit, we were the only ones there, I can see why.

Time - around 5:30pm on Saturday April 17th.Food - Very good and tasty.Service - meh. I dont really want to rain on this guys parade, but it seemed like we were bothering him more than anything else. He was probably just really busy with all the ice cream he was making. He did ask how things tasted and thanked us as we left but here is my issue. He was very straightforward and short with you and with how he served each piece and your input felt like it wasnt needed or wanted. Think of it this way, it was like being served by gordon ramsay minus the yelling. Like I said, meh. I wont go back simply because there are a ton of options for pie in dfw. Work on the customer service at the entry point and Im sure things will improve. Also, beware of the rosemary ice cream, its really strong. You can also just ignore this review if you want as well, and just keep doing what you do. Its all opinion based anyways. The desserts were good though. Just wish the service matched.

The hummingbird cake, Cafe Cubano and vanilla ice cream are great. But the customer service was awful. The guy that helped us was rude and had an attitude. My daughter asked to use the restroom and he told her that she could use it if we bought something.I understand that because of the pandemic many restaurants are restricting restroom use but the extra attitude was not needed. Most of the time its not what you say but the way you say it.

Stopped by before closing last night with my gal, and we ordered two waffles, one with a scoop of butter pecan and the other with a scoop of ube. The waffle was tender and especially well seasoned, the icecream melted quickly but was extremely pure and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. Price is marginally higher than youd spend elsewhere but its well worth it. No outdoor seating or drinks offered but I was fine taking a pass on those after I tasted the icecream. The chef seemed surly but you could instantly taste the skill of her craft in the product.

This is high quality melt in your mouth ice cream thats sweet without being overwhelming, creamy without leaving your mouth greasy, and leaves you ready for the next bite.We got the Tahitian vanilla on the chocolate brownie- more than enough for two. That ice cream scoop is about the size of a softball.The brownie is warm and chocolatey with a diner texture, not heavy like fudge.Each item here shows the professional level of craftsmanship, thought, and attention to detail that you can only get through years of training and work. Carrollton is soooo lucky to have such an amazing place tucked away here!P.S. next time we are ordering the Chef Special. $10 for whatever her genius brain can come up with- yes please!

Very good pastries. Got a slice of lemon chess pie. It was good. Not as dense as I would have liked it. Wife got the butter pecan pie and loved it. Daughter got chocolate chess pie and that was very good. It was a little more dense in consistency than the lemon chess pie. Got different flavors ice cream and all good. This dessert place is very good and with a chef that is passionate about her creations.

The single person running the store must of not been raised correctly, or with any common sense. I dont really care for not being greeted when I walk up, but this woman really saw us walk in and then rushed the back and ignore that we were in the store for a whole 10+ minutes to go play on her phone, left the store phone ringing upfront and would peek out from time to time to see if we were still up front.When she finally did decide to serve us, The cookies were okay, but theres The late night cookie place in Denton or the Toni Baked in Dallas that do alot better tasting cookies, and with greater customer service.I hope the owner smartens up and realizes the business is not gonna be running for too much longer if you treat your customers like this, and all you have to offer is the most mediocre gourmet cookies ive had in Dallas. Very sad.

And you say I was even in the corner, how could you see my expression to know I was glaring. Please don’t try to make me when bad guy when I’m just the customer. I even have a video. Even if you was busy with customers you should still acknowledge a customer when they walk in even if you can’t help them in the moment. As you said I stood there 7 minutes without you even greeting me. You need to learn how to take criticism when a customer is unsatisfied instead of comparing them to a child. Dang this place is REALLY good. I got some of their pie, brownies and ice cream and man.....so amazing. Their salted chocolate ice cream is like nothing I’ve ever had. So rich and almost savory. Their brownies had a perfect crispy top and chewy middle. I am waiting to try the pie later, but it smells divine. Can’t wait to go back and try more.
