Their product and quality is good. Their follow through and customer service is poor. If you live outside the I-270 loop, I recommend you look elsewhere. They are no longer a company friendly to out of Columbus locations. I am in Delaware and now they want almost double the rate to store my awning. Ive talked to them twice about a permanent fix to one of my second story awnings and they still have not gotten back to me. Again, I like the product, but I need a company I can rely on for service after the sale.9/07/21 Update: They did call me to follow up on the review and offered to help resolve any leftover problems. The person in charge tells me he has only been there a year and have experienced some turnover. Hopefully, things will be better moving forward. I appreciate them reaching out to me.
We are delighted with the awning we just bought from Capital City Awning. The mechanicals and fabric appear to be of high quality. The new awning makes our back porch much more inviting and shields us from the late afternoon sun without blocking our view of the back yard. Salesman Brian Graham did a nice job outlining our options, sitting patiently while we chose a fabric. He also showed up the morning of installation. I am vertically challenged, and the manual crank didnt work for me. He returned a few hours later with a longer one (no extra charge). The crew was easy to work with and removed the roll shade we had been using to block the late afternoon sun (no extra charge).
I had a very disappointing experience with Capital City Awning. We decided to have multiple awnings along the back of our house recovered as part of an outdoor renovation project. The original timeframe estimation of the project was 6 weeks, it took over 20 weeks for the project to be completed. Now while I understand unanticipated delays, especially in the midst of a pandemic, their communication regarding these delays was terrible. I had to contact them multiple times, after weeks of radio silence, to see when they were coming to do the work. They also contacted me regarding the outstanding balance before the job was completed. I was understandably hesitant to pay them before the project was completed for fear that they wouldn’t actually finish the job. The other very disappointing piece of this encounter was that in the process of removing the old frames, recovering them and reinstalling them, they managed to damage the frames significantly in innumerable places. I am frustrated that they would reinstall the frames without correcting their damage. When I inquired if they would be coming back to correct the damage they caused, I was told that was not part of the original estimate. I would not have thought to ask for them to repaint the frames as part of the original estimate because I did not expect them to return the frames in any less condition than they were removed. Eventually they did agree to come out and touch up the paint in the spots that were damaged and unfortunately they did a very poor job. I am very disappointed that they would look at the finished product and deem that acceptable. The installer even commented that they should not have been installed that way and that the touchup paint job was bad. I have given up trying to get them to make it right and unfortunately I am left to repair their damage myself. I expected more pride in their finished product and much better customer service but unfortunately I was sorely disappointed.
Im very impressed with their customer-focused approach to business. Highly recommend.
We could not be happier with our new awnings or with the excellent service we received from Capital City Awning. Our salesperson Brian Graham was professional, easy to talk with and incredibly patient and helpful as we made our decisions. His advice was indispensable. This is a company whose first goal, without question, is customer satisfaction. We have experienced this personally. We highly recommend Capital City Awning.
We contacted several companies for quotes. Capital City Awnings was not the cheapest, but they were the most timely, dedicated and professional. We received their quote the same day they took measurements and our awnings were installed way ahead of deadline. We definitely recommend this company if you want it done right.
Needed a quick repair on my pop up camper’s awning, they did it on the spot for free! What a great business!
Call to get an estimate on a awning. The front desk girl McKayla stated that they were too busy to give me a quote that I needed to send them more information in order for someone to even talk to me. I wont be using these guys for any of my construction builds in the future. Apparently this company is too big for their pants.
These guys are great. They do beautiful work. I got my awnings about fifteen years ago and Im glad I did because now that the awnings need replaced It seems they dont even make the fat, solid-welded frames I have anymore (judging by what I saw in the showroom). But I gave 3 stars for a reason. You need to know selection at CCA is VERY limited... STILL! It was fifteen years ago and, incredibly, nothings changed. Their swatch books are filled with hundreds of boring striped patterns that all seem so... dull and uninspired. Back then I wanted a standard Italian black and white fat stripe. Youd have thought that would be reasonably attainable. It is now but then? Nope. So I was forced to settle on one of many fairly nondescript skinny/fat/skinny stripped patterns in a basic color scheme. I visited their showroom some months back and, again, they were very helpful but, still, LOTS of lame stripes... I want a bold, colorful solid. No amount of money will get me robins egg blue, intense orange, or deep purple at CCA now (wait 15 years...). The only reason I can get hot pink is because CCA has the Victorias Secret contract(!), though the cost is quite a bit more. All Im saying is if youre the creative type or your looking for a big bold POP of color I dont know about the other local companies (yet) but you wont find that here. I suspect the awning fabric design business needs infiltrated by some truly creative thinkers. IM game...
Ive worked with Capital City Awning in 2 different places. Professional, timely and super helpful.
