Fantastic pourover made with Kickapoo roasters. Very fruity flavors coming through the bean. I had the Ethiopia natural. Great artwork and atmosphere inside.

I went mostly because everywhere else was closed~the barista was fine~he was a bit distracted even though I was the only one there and the coffee drink I got was on par but nothing special. I would go again if I were in the neighborhood and wanted a drink but I wouldnt go out of my way. The pastry was quite tasty!

The staff is nice. The coffee is good. They even have beer, wine and ginger beer. The food is yummy. The music is great background music. My only complaint is the seating is very uncomfortable... You cant really curl up with a book comfortably.

Like the Iowa City counterpart they know how to make coffee. Really, really, good coffee. I highly recommend it, my go to is the cold brew coffee. Flavorful, smooth, low acid. I highly recommend the pour over coffee as well.

Best cold brew coffee in Iowa City/Coralville. The food is great too. Nice selection of sandwiches, soups, salads. They also have gluten free and vegan cookies/muffins for sale as well. Nice, friendly staff.

Fair pricing, good coffee drinks and sandwiches in this Coralville Landing coffee shop. The cashier was kind and helpful. I look forward to going back to The High Ground Cafe.

I stopped here while staying in a nearby hotel, the hotel coffee was terrible so had to find a close option for an early morning! I got a latte and it was surprisingly good, the coffee tasted very unique. I would totally come back here the next time Im in the area to try more things.

Very restricted parking, however friendly attentive service and cool appearance, decent food for what it is. Not exactly any different from the next corner cafe in my honest opinion. Fairly high priced around range typical for cafes alike with basic panini sandwiches taking majority if not all of the food menu items, felt very rushed to place an order while scanning menu. Disappointed when they broke the news they do not make any blended drinks, seems like its a no brainier investment given the cafe titling. Judging from quickness and certainty of response I wasnt the first to ask by far and wont be the last surely. Not much entertainment nor anything to look at, view out of the glass window panels is so restricted to half a block of road and neighboring structures, isnt anything worth viewing regardless.

Stopped here driving between Nebraska and Wisconsin. Made a coffee pit stop off the freeway. I asked them for their lightest roast - I think it was an Ethiopian. It was some of the best coffee Ive ever had. Also - great pictures on the walls, very friendly barista and guests. I hope I get the opportunity to visit again!

Pasteries and sandwiches are so good. Morning coffee always hits the spot and ginger beer with any sandwich. I happened to be there one Thursdays evening and they had comedy night. Was fun and enlightening.

I came to the Coralville location this afternoon for the first time after starbucks had told me that they do not brew decaf in the afternoon?! So I was on my way to pioneer food coop, but thought I would just run into the High ground cafe to see if I can just grab a decaf from there. I ordered the decaf, and to my surprise it was the best tasting coffee that I think Ive ever had! I usually do not drink my coffee black, but I was in a hurry and did not want to fuss with sweeteners. Let me start by saying that this coffee was so delicious that it absolutely did not need any sweetener added to it! Although I did not have time to stay and drink my coffee there, I also loved the atmosphere inside this cafe, it was very pleasant, warm and welcoming. The server was very pleasant and courteous. Starbucks Venti ( which is their largest coffee 20 oz) is about a $1.50 cheaper, and the High Ground Cafes coffee size for a large to go is a 16 oz. Weighing out the difference between Starbucks vs. High Ground Cafe, High Ground Cafe gets the vote hands down! I will be stopping by whenever I am in the area, undoubtedly so, this Cafes coffee is the best!

High ground as a personal favorite, there are plenty of options for vegetarian, vegan and meat eaters alike! As well as coffee juices and some pretty delicious smoothies!

Extremely friendly and efficient staff! Im in the IRL frequently for work, so High Ground is very convenient. They have a variety of coffee drinks and enough options for coffee haters like me to be happy. If you havent tried their chai tea latte, you need to get one!

This has been so wonderful to have in the Iowa River Landing. Its so nice having a place that remembers exactly what I order as soon as I walk in. Great prices and service!

Almost everything is hear is great, but if these guys want a 5-star review they need to get cushions on some of these seats. Every seat in the whole cafe is hard-bottomed making it hard to use this as a place to do homework.

Coffee was good just had a mocha with whip. Place was empty and they forgot the whip.... only reason they didnt get 5 stars

Its trendy, clean, and staffed with polite kids, but the product is lacking. I ordered a decaf latte and got tart tasting hot water in return. The baristas solution: go full caffeinated. Which wasnt an improvement for flavor and raises serious concerns for any consumers with health restrictions, in my opinion. Theres no reason for me to return. The coffee is no good.
