Mr. Jans service visit was impeccable. He demonstrated superior knowledge of the system, provided great insight into what we should be doing next. and suggested we investigate a whole house duct cleaning with Dykstra. He was pleasant and very competent.

I heard Dykstras name on House Smarts Radio by none other than you guessed it Lou (I wont spell his last name as I dont want to butcher it). But if you listen to WGN you all know who Im speaking of. I called on a Monday morning and they arrived the next day. Jan was our service tech and he was very kind and knowledge and respectful. Jan called when he was on his way and was right on time. Jan explained everything he was doing and before he started, he offered to walk me through everything he was doing and to explain what happened and why the unit wasnt working. Jan was the most kind and professional person I have worked with in a long time. I will say this, its all about being kind and treating folks the way you want to be treated. Dykstra, I will be calling again and asking for Jan as he has set the bar. I will share my experience with others. One last thing people, when workers come to your home and they have to work in the beating sun, have bottled water on hand and offer a little relief, trust me they appreciate it.

Scott listened to my concerns regarding inconsistent heating throughout the house. His portable thermometer indicated that the ambient temperature in all of the rooms was within a tenth of the setting on the thermostat. Discussed moving the thermostat to a different location but demonstrated that probably would not solve the problem. He suggested changing the temperature setting which he did for us. Scott is an asset to the company. He arrived on time and the company answered the request in a very timely manner. Great job. Very pleased.
I have used Dykstra for many years. Recently I called them regarding an issue a plumber found in the crawl space of my home. I called Dykstra three times and they never called back. Sorry, three strikes and you’re out! At least call back a loyal customer when you say you will!

Jan installed a new thermostat and gave me detailed instructions on its use. During our conversation, I asked if I was managing the humidifier correctly. Jan noticed that the water to the humidifier was turned off. He checked and we also needed a new filter which he installed. Full service technician!
Called them to see if they work on window ACs and they said no they dont work on window ACs. Im not sure how you can claim that you fix ACs and not work on ACs- amazing.

Dykstra installed a new Utica boiler 8 years ago. They did a great job. However when the heat went out last week they said parts only have a 5 year warranty. They charged me $395.00 for a part that sells online for about 85.00. thats one heck of a markup on parts. No more Dykstra for me. I will go elsewhere. Update: there is no confusion on who did the installation. The confusion is why Dykstra home services charged me $395 for an $85 part that is available to anyone online. I can see a reasonable price markup for parts. But not that much. No more Dykstra home services for me.
We needed our AC System checked to maintain a good operating system throughout the summer months. Jan came by on time and did a complete systems check of AC unit, furnace condition and operation, and condenser, operation. HE cleaned the outside AC unit, check wiring and operating conditions. He instructed us on thermostat regulation.Karen and I were very satisfied with his work, his analysis of the systems operation. He made recommendations for future improvement (old furnace - 30 yrs old) and explained the technical operation and would we should keep in mind for future upgrades as they become necessary for the safe and efficient running of our home AC system.He was very polite, very knowledgeable, and asked us if we had any questions after he was all through with the system check. I highly recommend his company for outstanding service - being honest, thorough, professional, and knowledgeable about the differences between the old and the newer systems and how they operate. Hazim Qaisi arrived and immediately diagnosed the issue that there was no power from the thermostat going to the heating unit. He bypassed the thermostat, tried another unit and got the heater to operate properly. Soon further inspection found that the existing thermostat was not installed properly. He corrected the situation and completed testing the unit and gave it the OK. Done in 30-45 minutes. Great job!! Practiced safe routine and stayed masked at proper distance the entire time.

We had Dykstra install our furnace and air conditioner last we found the pricing to be very affordable they made it easier with 5 years no interest, we used them for maintenance on our units Jan the technician very friendly and professional and informs us what he is doing.
I was very pleased with both the customer service and the work Jan did today on our furnace and central air unit. He was also knowledgeable about our units and what was needed to keep them running in top shape. The small repair was done in an efficient manner as well as the scheduled maintenance. Poor quality work, unprofessional instalation, they installed a new unit with the wrong conduct lining using flexible material when the unit power called for hard sturdy material, they did not stay behind their intalantion work, and cover themselves with the so lame excuse of uncover warranty, the unit was not the problem, but all the leaks left on the line when they installed it, and they were looking on ways to get more money out of us,.services we provided in Bolingbrook IL and I talk on the phone with the owner, who explicitly said they will not do any rework for free and I cannot removed my comments as I cannot removed the unpleasant experience.
Came the same day which is important when the AC goes out in July. Jan is the best--thorough, careful, knowledgeable--the consummate professional.
Sent wife in to get a fan inducer motor only. They said if I couldnt get the wheel of motor spindal they could do it for us. I was able to get wheel off but was very challenging. Appreciated the help if needed and not pushing extra parts when not needed.

Dykstra is my go to company for heating and air-conditioning. My air (26 years old) was going in and out and my friend recommended Dykstra. I called them on June 8th and on June 10th, Tom Zawadzki, the project manager came to my home to give me an estimate for a new air-conditioner and furnace. (I decided to change them both since the furnace was 23 years old). Tom was very knowledgeable and thoroughly looked at my air and furnace and gave me three options, Best Choice, Better Choice, and Good Choice. I informed him I had a couple of other estimates to get and he said fine to get back to him once I decided. I liked the fact that he didnt pressure me. I didnt get back to him until about the 24th of June. Tom informed me that they wouldnt be able to get to me until July 14th, I said okay, however, if anyone canceled to please move me up. Yes, someone canceled and he was able to move me up to July 9th.Eddie and Kevin, the two guys, Tom sent to install my air and furnace were absolutely fabulous. They arrived on time. They worked continuously taking only a lunch break. When they completed the installation, they explained what they did and installed the thermostat.Now, I can say my sweating days are over. Kudos to Dykstra, Tom Zawadzki, the project manager and Eddie and Kevin. Dykstra definitely made me feel like a valued customer.
We had our annual furnace inspection a week ago. We had been having trouble with the furnace starting and wanted the technician to take a look at it The technician said our problems were from bad airflow and wanted us to sign up for an airflow study for $1,500. There has been no change in the structure of our house for 15 years and our furnace problems just started with this fall. It was obvious he did not want to address the issue and instead wanted to sell us services we did not need. IF we continue to have issues with the services we will be reaching out to another company to try to fix them.
Very disappointed with the way we were treated. Recently our furnace went out. We called and asked to have a tech come out to inspect it. We had purchased the clean and check in the fall, which came back fine, but the lady on the phone we had to pay a service fee. The new tech came and said whoever did the cleaning missed a lot of rust, dirt, and calcium deposits which led to the failure of the equipment. I said your company did and expected this service call to be free, which did not as they still charged us. This is a rip off as they dont stand behind their work!Will never recommend them to anyone or use them again.
