Smaller Strack and Van Til,But very nice and friendly employees. Havent ever been there before. Went because I was at Fransican hospital. Theres a True Value store next to it. Yes it out of the way, but worth remembering. The bigger stores are sometimes to much walking and to busy. Yes, I will go there again.

Store was clean. It was Friday night so there were several bare spots on the shelves. Maura the cashier was a good time.

I go here a lot because I live in the area. I normally don’t complain about certain people and their ignorance. I wanted too buy some cooked food from the deli had three employees standing in front of me not one asked if I need help. I had to say something for them to even acknowledge me. I said never mind and walked away. As I’m walking away a person who looks like them walks up and they sure did greet her. My skin is my sin I guess.

Have never had a bad experience. Staff is always friendly and available for assistance. Some items not always available, but could be a result of supply chain issues.

Great store. Its usually well stocked. Wish that they would carry diet raspberry snapple in the 64 fl.oz size bottles.

They need to have more fresh fish in stock. I dont understand the concept of putting the fish on metal instead of ice and the fish always smells fishy 🤢

The cashiers are friendly and courteous. Last time I was there an eagle eyed cashier spotted an item close to expiration, reported it,and patiently waited for it to be replaced. Im so glad she caught it before I took it home. She saved me time, money, and the frustration 😄

The service in general is very good but when it comes at lunch time and theres only two people working at the deli counter and you have 15 people waiting and everybody is getting angry and nobody from anywhere else wants to help very discouraging because most of us workers only have a half hour for lunch we want to get in and get out and we cant do that with just two people working trying to man 15p

My Favorite neighborhood grocery store. Almost like a convenience store since you can stop in and find what you need be out within 5 to 10 minutes. The Produce section is great as well as their seafood selection. Their staff is always helpful and easily accessible.

Generally good, but they need more attention to how many cashiers they have at certain times. Never enough Saturday Morning too many weekday afternoon. Set store for the most part well stocked. Very convenient.

The toilets taste weird

I was astonished at the prices at Strack! Seriously, I could find the products for a cheaper price elsewhere but was in a time crunch. Great service, but oh my goodness... please. Do something about your prices.

Everything is easy too find

Attacks can be expensive however you can find good deals. The employees are always nice and if you want good bacon this is the place to go. Its has to be the bacon cut by attacks and you can get the family size.

I am 84 have asthma and arthritis. I have to do my own shopping, since delivery is too expensive. I try to limit my infrequent shopping time to items I cannot get online and fresh goods. I tried to check out last week with two 1/2 gallons of skim milk, and was told I could only have one . The manager sent the employee back to exchange my milk for a gallon jug. I TRIED to explain that I cannot manage to hold and pour a gallon size, but that did not work... so I had to go home with a gallon which was SOUR four days later anyway..!!! I know we are all struggling with the restrictions for safety and separation and we have to do our part, but SOME better judgement in the implementation of the policies would help. The employee who had been handling everyones groceries, took my two half gallons and put back them into the case...!!!! and then brought me a gallon. He did not disinfect his hands either. Sorry, but this was just poor judgement. What shopper wants to open a case and take a product that has already been handled by a customer and a bagger ...??? I ended up having to go someplace else anyway to get more milk a couple days.later !!Furthermore, if there was a sign restricting milk items, it certainly wasnt very visable, because I did not see it.

Great local grocery store, with a wide variety of products to choose from. The wings, salad, and soup bar are great for a quick lunch or dinner option. In all of my visits the staff has been courteous and helpful. was hot and prepared on time, grest fish dinner.Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will. Return next to shop as I did today. Placed fish order while shopping. Returned at 5:45 and order was ready, and hot. Thank you

Not a good store to shop if youre in a hurry bc only one or two checkouts are open ay one time and the clerks are SOOOOO SLOOOOOW. Little to zero organic selection of anything. Whatever organic selection they have is WAY expensive, even compared to Whole Foods! Jewel has a much better selection and pricing. They do, however, offer a TEN CENT discount for bringing your own shopping bags 😂

For being such a very small store they carry everything you will need, as well as making sure you leave with a smile on your face! I used to be an employee here and I would definitely go back and work for these people again.

Love this store, I was Christmas baking and they had the ingredients I couldnt find anywhere else. The employees were more than willing to help me find what I needed and assist with carrying out to my vehicle. I will be back.

Its in the smaller building but that doesnt mean that they provide smaller service or smaller products. Its quaint in a good way. The staff is very helpful. And Im looking forward to eating the Snickers cake.

Great store has everything you need in one place

The store itself is one of the older Strack & Van Tils around & you can tell. Other than that, the employees are extremely down to earth, friendly & helpful. They usually have most things you would want at most grocery stores. My wish is that they would update the building & expand the organic section.

Charged extra for item even after bringing up issue of item being brought up scanned wrong item. Informed it was same price. Double checked item in store, they were wrong. Brought issue to customer service lady who wouldnt get off phone seemed annoyed that I would want my money after being charged more than sale price. Made it a point to say heres your .40 cents back. Regardless of how much or how little maybe hire staff who are ok with serving customers if they are going to be in the service industry. Unless youd rather hire staff with emotional burdens to get off the phone and help

Just called to see if they had apple butter. Not in stock at another store. They were great on the phone. Offered to have it at the desk at the front of the store. Great service.

This store has great customer service all the around, good sale prices, selection, decent clearance section, stocked well & is in an ideal location. But, it could definitely use an all-around modernization update.

Bagger rude no greeting from cashier. Bagged stuff and left on belt didnt even put bags in cart and bagger walked away. Store clean prices reasonable.

This Stracks is very small. Food selection isnt as good as one would hope. The produce is usually good, however I wouldnt recommend buying meat from there. Ive gotten smelly beef and chicken more times than Ive purchased good from this location. Also, if youre on WIC dont even bother going to this location. Every single cashier Ive encountered there to purchase my WIC items has given me massive attitude or has strait out ignored me. Its been so bad before Ive left there in tears. Its not like I have an option right now. I fell on very hard times and couldnt afford formula. Apparently they dont understand that because their lives are just perfect. I now go to the Dyer Jewel-Osco because they treat me with respect there. I only give them 2 starts because their produce is good and their location is ideal. Its right off Main Street which is nice. It would be my store of choice if their employees were nice but they are just down right disrespectful.

How dare you lie to not only every customer, but every employee as well. You do not have competitive pay. Target, Meijers, ALDI, and Jewel Osco, all have higher starting pays. Anyone in the right mind could sue for your clear false advertisement. Disgusting work practice from a greedy family.

They never have the products in the aisle that matches the aisle description. The location on 200 Franciscan Dr. is terrible, the cell service gets maybe 1 bar. Hope you dont need to make an important call while shopping, its a nightmare for Instacart shoppers.

Stracks always has great deals i usually go to Cedar Lake cause thats where i live but i go to crown point sometimes i never have a bad visit

Ive been shopping at this stracks for almost 18 years, Normally if I have an issue with something I bring it up to the manager, I Bought a jar of pickled carrots and cauliflower I Should have known that they were old because the vegetables were faded but the Expiration date was covered by the price tag, there was about 4 jars on the shelf I bought one when I opened it and tried it they were spoiled so the next time I went back I mentioned it to 1 of the employees and took her back there and showed her, well next time I went in they were still on the shelf so I thought Ill mention it to the manager so I told Jeff, and to my surprise theyre still on the shelf, and that was about 2 months ago. Yesterday I bought a big bag of dog food and I used 1 of the small carts and when I was pushing it out to my car it got hung up in the pavements there was a big crack in the pavement and My front wheels got stuck and the buggy flipped forward, and I ran into the back of the buggy with my chin, and it was very painful, and its very sore today I didnt go in and mention it to anybody because I was in hurry, and also I was pissed.. and honestly they wouldnt of cared. You would think that they would be aware of things like that, what would happen If that would have happened to someone elderly they could get injured pretty bad, and its right where the handicap parking is. So from now on I guess I will just leave messages on here since no one seems to care about customers opinions.... at least I can let other customers know what to watch for. I will only shop there when I have to from here on out, oh by the way, I was reading the reviews and noticed that there employees are posting good reviews for their store. I dont think thats right at all, oh well...
