The food was better than I expected. It was really tasty. The hot sauce was great. The issue I had was with the restrooms. The mens room smelled horrible. I almost left because of it. Its a shame because the food hit the spot... the restroom just stunk.
Crazy good food with awesome service and a covered deck so you can eat outside.
Looks like a hole in the wall joint. But the food is excellent. And it looks clean. Traveled 45 minutes from exton pa to here because the food is great and so is the price.
Fairly good option for Mexican food. There are not too many other options so they got a corner on the market 😊
Delicious, authentic Mexican food! Generous quantity and reasonable prices. Fresh ingredients and consistent food quality each and every time. Friendly staff. 5+++++
Excellent food and very friendly. Highly recommend
Hands-down one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten up not even restaurant in Mexico can come close to this please the food is authentic and absolutely delicious… The cost of the food is so cheap it doesn’t do it any justice amazing amazing amazing and don’t forget to try the hot sauce it’s out of this world
Loved it. I have been to Mexico City and eaten at a couple of the taqueria restaurants; this place reminded me of them 100%. That does not make me an expert on tacos in Mexico or taco restaurants but it does give me some unique perspective.I read some of the reviews about the restaurant and from my perspective most of the negative ones are slanted with an American expectation. Nothing inherently wrong with that! But if you have ever really been to a taco shop in CDMX, this place should remind you of that in the most positive way possible! Pick your drink from the cooler and have to pop the top yourself; tacos al pastor; tacos on the small tortillas and not like the ones you see at Taco Bell. And on and on!I mean again - TO ME - this place could fit right in with what you find down south. I am so thrilled to find this place and to have tried it. I will DEFINITELY be coming back!!!!
I had a torta and it was really good.
This place has some of the best food I have ever tasted! I eat here every week and Ive yet to have a bad meal. Service is impeccable and food is fresh and full of flavor.
Authentic Mexican restaurant that has yet to disappoint. My go-to is the California chicken burrito every time. If you get dessert, be sure to try the fried ice cream.
Every time I head to New Holland, getting off the 322 exit I would come across this restaurant, first time I checked it out was last year, ever since, I been goin here faithfully for tacos lol I highly recommend this spot to eat, especially if you love eating tacos and enjoy great food, this the spot to go to when in the area, I used to travel to reading for tacos but not anymore, BORIMEX I had to put a couple people on, so if u see new faces hitting you up for tacos 😏👌🏼💯
Who would think Hinkletown has the best Mexican restaurant in Lancaster county but here it is.
Very SLOW SERVICE. Also they’re tortillas as mushy and soggy. They use a weird corn tortilla and wish they just used flour ones. Also they’re tacos were so small they could fit in the palm of my hand!!! And they charge 2.00 for them! Will never go back.
I had a Chimichanga and fried ice cream. Would recommend.
Great tasting food. Expensive but large servings! Definitely recommend this place!
Drove 35 minutes to visit for the first time google says is open until 10 and is close the place looks abandoned
Not only my favorite Mexican place in the area, but my favorite Mexican place period. The carnitas and lengua tacos are amazing, and my go to dish is the chiles rellenos. Any time I eat at another Mexican restaurant that has chiles rellenos, Im always comparing it to theirs; I have yet to find a place that beats La Borimex.
Delicious, most authentic Mexican restaurant in the area
Great authentic Mexican food. You gotta try their fried ice cream!!
This is my go to place for Mexican, very authentic and always very good
Food was delicious! inexpensive prices, good portion sizes. I will definitely go again.
This food is legit!!! I picked up an order on my way home from work that my wife called in. And almost didnt make it home, cuz it smelled so so good. Thats right it smelled so tantalizing delicious that I was contemplating facing the wrath of a hungry spouse to satiate my mouth watering desire! I highly suggest that if you are picking up an order, and dont trust yourself or your significant other to NOT succumb to fleshly hungrily desires.......then BRING and/or SEND SUPPORT for the trek home!!! Because this food is legit!!!
The best Mexican food around!Highly recommended.
Authentic mexican food. Their burritos are the best.
Loved the tacos and guacamole dip
Great Mexican taste, they got me since the first day I when to try it. It was 2010 and I have take all my friends ever since.
You can done in, but everything is on foam takeout containers. Food is still top notch .
AMAZING customer service. Amazing food. It had a quiet atmosphere. Great place to bring your kids. Good prices. Unfortunately I for get the severs name otherwise I would recommend a raise.
I absolutely LOVE this place. Friendly service and awesome food! We always get take out and its always super fresh/just made. Very authentic. If you havent been here yet you should definitely try it!!
The food is made with fresh ingredients and has always been excellent. Its affordable and delicious. Whats not to love?
Not authentic but it’s really tasty and staff is sweet..I love the outside seating ambiance...they definitely need more waitresses tho...I waited 40 min for my food and I could clearly see it waiting to be taken out the kitchen to be served... it got to me barely warm...prices are awesome and the store there is cute...convenient location too...
This place is the absolute best!!! For the money you spend at Taco Bell, you can come here and REALLY get a GREAT meal, i have to be careful with spicy food and havent had one problem with my orders, frequent customer here
The food here is excellent! The service is friendly and they will explain any menu item you have a question about. I love the selection of Latin American sodas. Prices are more than reasonable considering amount of food you receive.
Delicious food and friendly staff!! A must stop!!
FOOD WAS FANTASTIC.for a little hole in the wall kind of place, it really blew me away. I have driven past it dozens of times, but it was only until a friend recommended it that we gave it a shot and im SO GLAD I DID. The food is cheap, authentic, and DELICIOUS!
Provided the current world events La Borimex is doing great at continuing to serve great food....had the La Borimex fajitas and they were great!! Just sat outside with our Corona but ours had limes 😝
Guac and chips were really good also the tacos al pastor and very good salsa
Tasty food chicken Torta lots of flavor. They only forgot the salt on the grilled jalapenos. I would go there again
Great food!
Very good prices. I got the enchilada platter and some tamales. It looked as though everyone was getting the tortas and burritos, which looked phenomenal. I will definitely go back and try one of those next time.
Nice spot when my husband and I are visiting in this area. Service is slow but thats likely due to the volume of business and the freshly made Mexican food. Food is tasty. Very good for families with children too. Or for Carry-out
I could eat at this place everyday and not get tired of it. Ive had a good portion of the menu and never had a bad dish.
You shouldnt have to pay extra for chips and salsa, especially when the chips are overcooked flour tortillas fried up. The food was ok but nothing special. You cant even get a glass of water. If you want a beverage you have to take it from the case and be charged for it. I had to pay individually for chips AND salsa AND water. There are so many other Mexican restaurants that wont nickel and dime you for better food and service.
Fabulous restaurant for authentic Mexican food! We have never been disappointed with the food and service. Lots of choices and very reasonable prices. Always a great meal!
Used to be better
Simple Mexican restaurant with solid, authentic food. Nothing outstanding but always very good at good prices. Make sure you order something with rice and beans. Delicious!
Let me start out by saying the food is very delicious and authentic. But the place needs better servers. There was no instructions as to whether you sat yourself or you get seated. On top of that after we did seat ourselves we turned into an inconvenience because we wanted to order takeout. Which turned into a very confusing situation. We were asked to sit and wait at the entrance, which was not an issue. Once there, loads of people came in; standing there unsure what to do. So my wife and I directed them that we ordered take out and they will need to seat themselves. They also agreed it wasnt an ideal way to conduct business.
One of the most authentic around. I am talking about the real Mexican dishes here. If your idea of Mexican is burritos then you do not know Mexican. Great people, wonderful true authentic flavors and great places to get dried spices. There is at times a wait for food. not many work here
Holy moly the the food was awesome. It was a bit busy but they still got the food out fast. Our waitress was sweet too.
The food is awesome!!! The service was good, waitress was very kind and pleasant. Authentic food for sure!!! Would recommend to anyone that wants real Mexican food.
We dont get there often because we live far away, but it is always worth the drive! Absolutely amazing food, great staff. I highly recommend.
So amazing! It is one of my all time favorites! Service is always friendly. Tacos, guacamole, and fried plantains with cream are my favorite go to things.
The place was packed at 6 pm on a Tuesday evening, with families with children. The burrito I ate had delightful rounded flavor. Authentic Mexican comfort food. Good service. Reasonable prices.
It’s not a complaint about the food. Our server was ridiculous. Luckily for us we had legs, so we were able to grab our own beverages from the refrigerator. We eventually ordered our food, and out came on appetizer, three minutes later another appetizer.About 10 minutes later so we got our fajita dishes (which comes with SC, rice & beans & flower tortillas). Then the other table got their fajita dishes coincidentally. Then we waited a while till I had to ask the owner to get us our rice beans and tortillas and sour cream which our server totally forgot about while she started taking orders at other tables.Eventually when we were completely done with our meal, she asked if we were OK with everything, so I politely asked for the check.About five minutes later she gave another table their check, after I asked a while before them for ours...Basically, the food is fine but depending on the server you get, the service sucks.
Delicious authentic Mexican food at a super reasonable price!
Web site says opens at 10 and showed up at 10:30.. sign says closed so we called and was told they dont open until 11:30.. MAYBE update the website to have proper times on it!!
Best authentic Mexican food in the area! I love the Quesadillas, Tacos, and enchiladas. Their green sauce is my absolute favorite!
Our family has enjoyed this little treasure regularly since friends introduced us to it. The atmosphere is simple, but cozy and clean. The waitresses are pleasant and helpful. And the food makes the half-hour drive worthwhile. Were going tonight for the second time in 10 days, if that tells you anything...
What a little gem! Ive driven by before and thought it was a store/specialty grocer. SO glad I stopped by just to check it out. Had a wonderful (reasonably priced) lunch on the deck. Will definitely be back sooner rather than later!
Great authentic Mexican food at very reasonable prices Ordered take out and it was fresh and good.
Soooo bad. Waited 20 minutes for water and finally just got our own out of the coolers. Chips and salsa were awful (how can you not have good chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant)! Chips were literally burnt and inedible. Cheese dip was some kind of disgusting out-of-a-can, half-heated grossness. When the food came out, it was wrong but waitress resolved it. Food was just mediocre and NOT worth the crazy long wait. Corn tortillas were good, as were beans, and my son liked his shrimp burrito. Server was friendly but not very skilled. Super disappointed because I’ve been searching for authentic Mexican here in Pennsylvania. Definitely NOT at this restaurant!
Best actual authentic Mexican food around.
The food is amazing and the portions are great!
Best authentic Mexican Im aware of. We hit it regularly for their lunch specials. Cant beat them. Staff is friendly and courteous and the service is timely (save the rare Lunch rush, but what are you gonna do). Food always tastes fresh and oh so tasty.
Classic hole-in-the-wall restaurant...2 or 3 stars for service and ambience; 6 stars for food! Server was friendly but not the most attentive. Borimex burrito is beyond delicous! Fajitas less outstanding but still good. Generous servings reasonably priced.
Awful! The worst Mexican food that Ive ever had, quite possibly the worst meal that Ive ever had. The meat was dry, like it sat in a steam well uncovered all day. The chips were way over cooked. The salsa was lacking, no cilantro or lime and Im almost positive no salt and pepper. The rice was dry and crunchy. The black beans were straight from a can which is fine if you season them! Ive been a cook and a server for 20 years. As a cook that food would never leave my kitchen. And as a server my tables would never be served that trash. I NEVER complain about food online or leave reviews, unless the food is above and beyond then Ill leave kudos on their page. But this place just does not care about food quality. Dont waste your money.
Very good soda!
The Combo Burrito is deliciousssss!!!
Authentic and absolutely delicious Mexican food. All the terrible reviews about the service are accurate, but the food is what keeps us coming back. Take out is a great idea especially if you dont want to spend more than an hour at the restaurant. As a vegan, Borimex is super accommodating. I get the Chicken California Burrito, no chicken, no cheese and no sour cream. Its basically a rice and bean burrito with pico and avocado (ask to add avocado)! The french fries and the chips w/ guacamole are also delicious.Basically, if the service was improved, this could be the best Mexican restaurant in Lancaster County.
La borimex is a cute little local Mexican restaurant. The menu was quite extensive so I had a lot to choose from! The waitress was very helpful in explaining the dishes I had questions about. The food was delicious and I knew I was getting authentic Mexican food. The dishes are pretty big, so I was able to take half of it home, which is always nice. The food is fairly priced, none of the dishes were expensive. I would definitely come here again!
My local go to...they really cannot be beat for authentic mexican cuisine.. fresh pico & guac, chips .
Great authentic food. Hard to find good food in this area and they do it well. Good job. Always a treat to eat here. I always get take out.
Excellent authentic Mexican food. Casual dining. Inexpensive.
Love this place! The food is phenomenal and well priced with big portions. Unfortunately the service isn’t always the best. The girl with all the tattoos is an amazing waitress. She’s always so sweet and helpful even when she’s obviously slammed and has no one else working with her. She’s working her butt off every time I go in. When I do get other servers it seems like they either don’t know what they’re doing or just stand around not paying attention. But besides that this place is the best and if you get her as your waitress you’ll have great service AND great food. Best mexican food in PA!!
Been here many times and the food is consistently good. with the exception of the fried chicken tacos my wife used to always order. The last few times they were left in the fryer too long and were so crunchy as to be careful not to break a tooth. So be wary of the deep fried items. Service can be a little slow as they seem to always run with minimal wait staff. You grab your own drinks out of the cooler if you want anything other than water. Once youve been there a time or 2 you get the gist of how they operate, which is not necessarily obvious on a first visit. I suspect that is what leads to a lot of the negative reviews about waiting so long to be seated. BTW, we usually seat ourselves and that never seems to be a problem. This is not a fine dining establishment, its an old store front converted into a restaurant with very little in the way of decor or ambiance. In other words, not a place to impress a first date. But this should be obvious when you drive by the place, so no surprises really. What you see is what you get.I give it 4 stars for what it is, which is decently authentic Mexican food with good portions at very fair prices.
Food is amazing!! We are never disappointed with our meals. The steak chimichangas are to die for!
I REALLY. REALLY want to give this place more stars because the food is tasty and the people seem nice, but YIKES! The wait time for takeout is crazy long. Called at 4:15. Arrived at 4:50 because past visits have been long. The order STILL took 10 additional minutes. And items were missing when I got home. There is just ONE server, who seems really nice, but she does not greet takeout customers on her passes to and from the kitchen. The food industry is suffering right now due to low unemployment, so Im trying to keep that in mind .
Service has occasionally been a little slow, but the food has always been delicious, with reasonable prices.
Flavorful mild Tomitillo salsa, and a nice and spicy red sause. Black beans and rice, good pork in the street tacos. Well executed Chilli Rellenos. Meat could have been spiced, but still very good. This place is the real deal.
Love this place. The tacos and enchiladas are what I usually order because I look forward to these and cant bring myself to order something new. Their chips are good also.
Excellent Mexican food, good variety of selections, comfortable atmosphere! Service has improved since my last visit, so much better experience this time!!!
This place is as authentic as you get in Lancaster. It may look like a dive from the drive when passing by, but inside is delicious food. I personally loved the tongue tacos, while my kids loved the quesadillas. The whole fried fish was a bit overcooked but still delicious. And this place is as laid back as you can get. Dont forget to BYOB.
I absolutely love it here. The food is amazing and very reasonable pricing! This is our go to place many date nights. Awesome place!
Best food in Lancaster county. Periot.
I’ve been coming here for about 3 years and while I love the food the quality of service here has always fluctuated depending on who is serving you/how busy they are. Only server worth her salt left recently and service got so bad I only order takeout now. If there are more than 5 tables seated expect to wait a ridiculous amount of time for your food and be ignored by the serving staff. Last time I sat and ate here I had to actually walk over to the waitress and ask her to come take my order after having sat there waiting for 10 minutes, and then I didn’t get my food for another 45 minutes on top of that. Didn’t get checked on once, no refills on my water, and after we finished we sat with empty plates waiting for her to bring our bill for over 15 minutes. Mind you, we were one of five tables in the entire place. Disappointing considering how much I used to love coming here.
Great restaurant for mexican food. would definitely go again.
The food is good. But we went for lunch one day, informed them we were sitting on the deck. Sat out there for 10 minutes and no one came. Another couple came and sat outside. 10 minutes later still no one came to take our order. Went inside to remind them we were still there. Finally the waitress came out and went to the other table to take their order. We walked out. I would not recommend sitting on the deck if you want to get service.
Local favorite Mexican food. Very good rice and beans, good prices for portions.
I got to say walked in was greeted by ownerLots of seating.good variety to choose from.So picked california style burrito,,DELICIOUS !Im from Cali, reminded of home. Authentic and thats what I like and look for. Services good,,,enjoy! for sure will be back
I love this place! The food is fantastic! Good portions and decent prices. The tamales are wonderful!! We eat there often and weve never had a poor meal.
They have pretty good food but was disappointed in theyre willingness to please.. I got a soda and it had absolutely no fizz and was obviously really old,.. they refused to give me a fresh one or take it off the bill.. so not worried about the dollar or 2 but was really lame customer service
After an amazing dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Lititz last night I was craving more tonight so we decided to give this place a shot after seeing all the good reviews. We arrived around 8 and had no trouble getting a table (bonus - we got a booth near the heater). Unlike Chillangos in Lititz, this place doesnt give you complimentary chips and salsa but no biggie, only $1.99, however the salsa was too sweet and tasted like it came out of a jar and the chips were dark and dense - total disappointment. No fountain drinks, only 12 oz. glasss bottles you get yourself out of the cooler. For our meals hubby got the Chorizo Quesadilla which was tasty and I got the Chicken Chimichanga. My meal was meh - way more cheese than chicken but it had a nice taste. The beans and rice that came with my meal were bland and looked unappetizing to say the least as you can see in the photo. The rice looked more like couscous, all chopped to bits and stuck together with little to no taste and the beans were the same, just a few whole black beans in a puddle on my plate. The meals were served with a cup of chopped tomato, onion & cilantro which was quite tasty, shame they couldnt recreate something similar and serve fresh, homemade salsa. Guess it serves me right for not returning to Chillangos, I wont make that mistake again.
I love coming here because the food is good. But the waitress was super slow and took forever to bring us menus and take our order. She even took care of a table that came in after us before she noticed us. Unnecessary time was wasted there.
