We had our fireplace insert repaired. Technician was knowledgeable about our unit and the “secret” on off mechanism that we haven’t know about. And he arranged the “glowing embers” with forceps until they were perfect. Plus he was pleasant and engaged with his work. Wish we had scheduled sooner

The technician diagnosed the problems and repaired it as much as possible but recommended replacing the unit as repairs would cost more than a new unit. I was only charged for the service call and we discussed things to look for in a replacement unit. I appreciated his honesty and concern for what was best long-term.
We wanted an opinion on repair vs. replace on an old Maytag washing machine. The tech did a good job identifying various issues and it became clear that replacement was the better option. We wish he had been able to figure out that the water drain pump was the critical issue. It failed completely almost as soon as he left and we had a real mess on our hands.One minor issue: neither the tech or Columbine customer support has succeeded in emailing me the receipt for the service call even though we double checked my address.
Pete came on time. He was friendly and professional. He answered all of our questions. He also sensed that my tenant was nervous about the gas stove and he took the time to explain the stoves inner workings and told her why it was safe and that it had a mechanism to shut off the gas if needed. I truly ok appreciated that he explained that to her. I like the 30 day guarantee of service as well. I’ve actually called back within that time frame and had them come back before. It’s nice that they will do that. I’d recommend them.
We had Dan out from Columbine to help us with our gas fireplace. We could not get it to turn on this year. Im pretty confident with schematics and thought I could figure it out. I was wrong on this one. Dan found the problem, which I never would have, did a great job getting our fireplace fixed and back in business, cleaned up everything, explained everything and was a really please to have in our home. The repairman correctly identified the problem on his first visit before even opening up the washer to verify his diagnosis. They didnt have a new drain pump in stock, but he returned a week later after they got the part. It took maybe 35 minutes to install the new pump and test everything. The old impeller had detached itself from the motor, just as he had suspected. Nice to have someone so experienced and quick.
Dan did a terrific job cleaning our gas fireplace. He took care not to damage our home and persevered cleaning the glass front (lots of elbow grease) until it was perfectly clear. He left our fireplace burning brighter and more welcoming than weve ever seen it.

The first attempt to repair our Jennair top burner using the less expensive way didnt solve the problem. It led to needing a very difficult to obtain part. They continued to look for it over several months, kept us informed and did locate one. They made 3 trips to the house to solve the problem. The same very knowledgeable person each time and no additional service charges. We were very pleased.
The technician arrived on time and was completely professional and knowledgeable. He took the proper amount of time to pinpoint the issues and promptly fixed it. 5 stars to the technician. The pricing was very high considering about 45 minutes was needed to diagnose and replace the heating element on the dryer at a cost of over $400. While the part is guaranteed for 1 year, labor is only 90 days and if you read the fine print you have to pay a service fee again after 30 days! Since the invoice did not break down parts and labor, I am at the mercy of Columbine of what amount is exactly under the warranty should it break after 90 days and also stuck for another service fee. Again the work was great as was the technician, the pricing seemed high and less than transparent

The gentleman that came to our house was very nice and I feel anyone that would have come from this company may have done the same job. He did not even look at the machine. He looked at the error code, opened the computer, and told me I needed a whole new computer system. Then charged me $119. I do not feel good about this.

The technician arrived and reviewed my situation. He made suggestions of what he felt was wrong with my stove oven and told me to have my contractor check the plug. This saved me over $800 as the Electrician had not installed the plug correctly.The Technician was prompt informative and very helpful. It was a great refreshing experience.

The technician was professional, experienced and thorough. The repair was scheduled within 24 hrs after calling them. I appreciated his wearing a mask and shoe coverings while in my house. (Updated) I am very frustrated with Columbine.After our dryer stopped working, they sent a technician who said that he (a) needed a part ordered and (b) we needed to have the vent inspected before he could return. We got the vent inspected and cleaned - but there didnt seem to be a major issue. The technician came back (well past the designated 2-hour window) a week later. After taking the dryer apart, he said that he came with the wrong part. He also left our dryer completely deconstructed in pieces in our childrens playroom, and the whole unit pulled out so that we couldnt use our washer either. He said he would either come the next day with the part if it was in stock or the office would call me the next day to schedule us for a new appointment. Neither happened. The office called the next week when the part was received and scheduled us for a Saturday. A different technician came and said that the first technician had mis-diagnosed the issue, that it was never an issue with the vent, and ordered yet another part. That technician came back today and seemed to have fixed the dryer (charged $456 for parts and labor), but when we tried to use it after he left, discovered it is still not working. When the original technician came back the next day, he said that the original parts he had ordered were either never installed by the second technician or that they were faulty. He is ordering again and we will have to wait another week.So, by now, it has been about 1 month since we first called. We have had 5 visits from Columbine (with one more in a week or so), paid more than $600 (including to the vent company) -- much of the cost of a new dryer, and still dont have a working machine.I have made several requests for a manager to call me to discuss a refund of the $145 we paid for the unnecessary vent inspection due to the mis-diagnosis, but have not received a response.

Hard to find service for LG appliances but Columbine does work on them and I like to find local businesses whenever possible. The technician was prompt and professional and had our washing machine working again quickly. I had called on a Saturday afternoon and was scheduled for Monday morning.
Andrew was our technician to check out ice & water at bottom of freezer and leaking water on the floor. He was on time. Courteous. Answered my questions in a straightforward way. Did not try to up sell and in fact, praised the remaining time for our 20+ year old Amanda refrigerator! He left us with a leak litmus cardboard thingy that slips under the fridge to monitor for leaks.

Updated: I followed up with Columbine and they got their technician out same day to fix it so that wed be able to at least use our stovetop. He was able to fix in just a few minutes.Followed up with landlord as well and she said there had been some communication issues; repair was delayed because she didnt take the call that they placed to her outlining the proposed repair, and didnt leave a voicemail. When she didnt contact them back they marked that as decline of service, which delayed the initiation of repair until she contacted them a week later wondering when shed be billed.So it seems communication could definitely have been better but Im glad that they followed up and were able to get the stove working.Original:My landlord insists on using Columbine. When our oven initially had a runaway temperature, we were told the couldn’t come out for two weeks. So went without an oven for two weeks. Then someone came and worked on it. All they told my roommate who was home was that we should be good to use it. Two weeks later I get a text from them and from my landlord to set up a time for them to come work on it again. I have no idea why. So set up the appointment. The guy comes, takes off the entire digital interface, leaving wires exposed, tells my roommate they’re waiting on a part to come in two weeks, and that they’ll fix it then. He turned off the circuit for the oven and left all the leads exposed and told us we can’t turn the circuit back on. So now we have no working oven and no working stove because the stove is on the same breaker.Honestly their communication has been terrible (they also texted at 4:59 last time to change the appointment window for the next day when we’d already made arrangements for the original time slot) and at this point it’ll have been at least 6 weeks from start to finish of this ordeal, 4 without an oven, and two with no way to cook at all. Save yourself the time, trouble, and insane unprofessionalism and use someone else.

Called Columbine Appliance & Fireplaces about my GE Profile Refrigerator not working. Spoke with a very professional front office and described my problem. A service call was scheduled the next day at 8:00am. At precisely 8:00am the service technician, Jorge showed up, wearing a facial covering. In very short order, he diagnosed the problem to be the inverter board. Because he had been briefed before the service call, he had a replacement board for the model of my refrigerator with him. He didnt even need to go to his truck to get it. He installed the board and the refrigerator immediately began cooling. Service call, parts and labor came to $603. Now the interesting thing is that we had another company previously try and solve the issue. They wanted to replace both the inverter board AND the compressor for $1,610. As it turns out, there was nothing wrong with the compressor which is a very expensive part and labor intensive to replace as compared to the inventor board that was plug-and-play. From a customer service standpoint, my experience with Columbine could not have been better. Everyone I dealt with was professional and knowledgeable. Jorge had the tools and expertise to quickly diagnose the issue without the need to throw expensive parts at the problem. I was super impressed that he brought a replacement inverter because of his experience. Columbine Appliance came highly recommended to me by friends who have used them. I would highly recommend Columbine Appliance when it comes to appliance repair issues and I will not hesitate to call them again in the future.

Fireplace wont start. Very professional service and also very clean.
What a joke. My dishwasher died, and all this guy did was come over and push some buttons on the console. He did not even pull the dishwasher out! First he said there was nothing wrong and was about to leave. Then it stopped running suddenly, and he said oh well you should replace it.So after he took my money, I pulled it out my f’ing self and was able to see motor dust all over the floor and hoses. Diagnosis complete.If your dishwasher stops, pull it out and take a look yourself. You’ll do at least as good a job or better than Columbine. And you’ll save yourself $120.

I had my gas fireplace serviced, they came out after a few months from the last appointment as the issue was not constant. I decided to get the part ordered as the fireplace is 25 yrs old and they were very helpful in replacing and not charging me for the second service call, just the part since the original call wasn’t that long ago.It was cleared again and had some material that simulates embers added.I’m very happy with them and will use them again if necessary.

My ice maker broke in my Whirlpool refrigerator freezer and I was referred to Columbine by my realtor. When you make an appointment they provide you with a 2 hour time window and then call you the day before to let you know more specifically when the repair person will arrive. A repair person named Nick came to fix my ice maker and he was very nice and professional. He identified the problem and came back a week later with the needed parts. It only cost me about $200 which was way cheaper than spending $1000 to replace the whole fridge. I highly recommend Columbine and would recommend them to anyone needing help. (Btw this is not a fake review, I am a real customer who was very grateful for the hep and wanted to pay it forward :-)

They were very responsive, was able to get an appointment within 2 days of my call which was at least a week earlier than some other companies I called. on time and didn’t beat around the bush to try to up sell me on their repairs. I had an older washing machine probably 7-10 yrs old and it stoped spinning and agitating. He came in was able to put belt on to get it working but also found other issues that would be needed to be addressed in order for it to work properly for long term. Repairs were more than a new washer would cost so he told me he would fix it if I wanted him to but I said it sounds like I should just buy a new one for that price and he stated that would probably be in my best interest for a long term solution though he did say he could and would fix the one I had if I chose. Just loved the honesty!! Highly recommend!!!

Nice young man....appeared to be very knowledgeable. But $119 for a 15 minute visit to tell me it “could” be the pump or the circuit board, that’s an excessive over-charge in my book.
