A warm family run restaurant that makes quality food with great service. A throwback look and feel that feels like home.
I love the bi bim bop! This place has great service and great food and a comfortable, quiet atmosphere. It’s also not too pricey! My brother and I used to go there every week for a few years and we’ve never had a problem with our order. Deserves more hype!!
Really great, quick eat with a nice diner feel. Fantastic service and very reasonable prices!
Had lunch for first time today. I asked for a recommendation and the dumpling soup was recommended. It was fantastic. Looking forward to future lunches!
Great people good food
I admire this place! They have first-rate meals, their menu is varied, The cook in that place is very trained, I enjoy very much tasting all their food. The food is consistently of high qualtity, the attitude towards the guests is very good too. I go often to this place and I not even once was unsatisfied. I recommend this place.
The oriental noodle soup and grilled cheese all day!
This place gives fantastic service as well as delicious meals. My favourite restaurant in town. The drinks and food arrived quickly and the prices were economical. Recommended.
I wanted to like this place. Ive got a special place in my heart for hole in the wall spots. And yes, the food wasnt bad. But thats about it. The restaurant decor felt trapped in a land time forgot. The bathroom was a disaster. And the service felt pretty flat. I had hoped for more since Ive passed this place for years. But honestly, its just not worth a visit.
Food here is reliably delicious. Service is always friendly and fast. One of my faves
Best be Bim bop around. Friendly family run. Quick service.
What a hidden gem! Walking in here is like walking back in time, I mean that in a good way! An old school diner run by a kindly old Korean gentleman, prices are super cheap, and they have great food!
A down-to-earth place. Recommend the Korean beef, my parents like the bi bim bap. Lots of decent western options too, I like their fries. Service is friendly as well!
Yummy food at a good price
Friendly staff and quick service along with great prices. The food wasnt the best. My ham & cheese omelette tasted like the previous days lunch.
Ok nice people but it was run down and soup just ok. Needs work. Not great.
Pretty quality food at a quality price, great old-school atmosphere, and the BEST COFFEE in Evanston!Drop off your dry cleaning at Kims next door as well!
A cute diner with very good food at a decent price! The Bee Beem Bop was very popular and we may get that the next time we go there.
Amazing !!! Very highly recommended. Coffee was filled as soon as it got to half full and the food was delicious. The owners are very kind and attentive.
Exceptional and delightful food, I loved the ambience the place has, and the employees were welcoming. I will surely come back in the future.
I always love a good hole-in-the-wall. You rarely find a greasy spoon with an amazing bi bim bop. You will not find a better bi bim bop for $8.95. The ingredients are average but their sauce is extraordinary. The owners are also incredibly sweet and caring.
I share the exact same sentiments as the review from David Shih. I never checked out the bathroom, but I did notice the place had a light oder to it which wasnt particularly pleasant.
Bee beem bop is fantastic, food is inexpensive, staff are friendly as can be. Setting is a cute, dingy diner with a lunch counter and wood paneling on the walls. Great, simple, delicious neighborhood establishment.
Been coming here for 16 years. Awesome place. Mr. & Mrs. Lee are amazing people and the Bee Beem Bop is the best youll ever have!
Great small family diner with low outrages prices. Love the mix of American breakfast and Korean food.
Be bim bop is fine. Its way too expensive and the last time I was there the man next to me had a long black hair in his food. The atmosphere is depressing and everything is sunbleached. I asked for sweet tea, and I watched them pour iced black tea in a cup and then some sugar water. Not a fan.
Small little diner with Korean and American fare Its owned by the same couple doing the cooking and serving (Mr. And Mrs. Lee). The Bi Bim Bop is a filling dish and the homemade sauce brings it all together. Stop in and try it.
I stick to Korean items, mostly, and very much enjoy. The Duk Man Du Kuk is a peppery, dumpling soup thats perfect for chilly days. Bee Been Bop is also swell. Its a wonderful old diner.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee are the best host/hostesses in Evanston. Stop by for authentic BiBimBop and other breakfast dishes. Eat where the cops and firefighters eat!
Great and affordable breakfast and lunch with a Bee Beem Bop twist. I live in the neighborhood and feel so happy to have found this friendly, family-run restaurant today.
Good food. Service is non-existent. In fact they seemed angry most of the time.. Try their bibimbap.
This is a simple neighborhood cafe with some Korean dishes. I especially recommend bobimbop for breakfast!
Awesome place to come for breakfast. Their bee bim bap is incredible as is their dumpling soup. My fiancé loves their breakfast special as well if you want something more traditional.
Very good hole in the wall Korean/American diner.
Old school diner with a wonderful bee bim bop. . .yummy
Love this place! Go there all the time! Best Bee Bim Bop in town!
Very very friendly elderly man who owns and cooks the food. Its hard to find grits for breakfast but this place has it. Very tasty Korean food also. Hes even willing to serve kimchi for breakfast. The kimchi is not too hot, just right. The first time Ive had an American breakfast with kimchi. I can write that off my bucket list.
Good Value, Clean and well-run diner. Sweet, friendly hard-working owners. Authentic, fresh Bi Bim Bop (minus stone bowl). A locals fav.
A great place for breakfast and some Korean food. Old school mom and pop shop.
Best Bee Beem Bop I have ever had.
Great place for quick breakfast.
Classic greasy spoon with terrific pancakes and Korean food!
Quaint place offering breakfast and some Korean food.
Great food, bee beem bop is DELICIOUS! Very well prepared.
Little hole in the wall Korean diner with the best Bee Beem Bow in the Western Hemisphere.
Our favorite food in Evanston. Nice korean homestyle food mixed with merican diner classics.
Small place, old timer is the cook and he serves you. Food is okay but, the scent of moth balls is, wow.
Great food great service.
Walked in with a group of 7 no one else was in the restaurant. So, we sat at two different booths. I mentioned that we were together and asked that we be billed as one. The waitress took the first tables drink order and then got it, explaining that the Sierra mist machine was broken and served us two cans of Sprite. Ok. She asked what wed like to order, but I reminded her that we were with the other table and could she get their drinks at this time so we could all be served at the same time. She did. Then, she took food orders, as she did so, the cook came over and started asking some of our party what wed like including me. I ordered a breakfast special eggs over hard, rye toast, hash browns. An adult burger plate with fries for my two youngest to share, a gyro plate for my husband. My teenager and his two friends ordered some breakfast platters and one got a burger and fries. I want to mention how can a breakfast place not serve chocolate milk? So, our food trickled out to the tables. There was no reason we couldnt have been served at the same time it at least close to it. She sets the shared burger plate and asked if I wanted a second plate, I said yes please. I never got a second plate. Why even ask? I wasnt served until the first people served in our party were nearly done eating! I put ketchup on my hash browns and cut into my eggs, they were runny. I called the server over and asked for my order to be corrected. They took my plate back, punctured the yolks, and RE-GRILLED the same eggs! Then, put them back on the same, now cold plate of breakfast still covered in the ketchup I originally applied! Disgusting! I brought my plate to the counter and said I refused to pay for re-grilled re-served, now cold, food. To please bring me a bill for everything else. My teen had to ASK for syrup with the pancakes he ordered and I tried his scrambled eggs because he complained to me and they truly were greasy and unseasoned. I didnt want to deal with sending anything else back and requested a check for the second time without mentioning those eggs. My husband and I had coffees which sat empty until we had to call the server over for the one refill we managed to get. I requested a check for a third time by loudly calling it out and a check was sat on my table FINALLY. As I was getting cash out onto the table, they came and dropped a second check on my sons table. I repeated that I specifically asked for a check all together and that these two tables were together. Oh, you didnt tell me you were together...!!!! Was the response. I have now been sick, puking with diarrhea for two days. Possibly unrelated but Im suspicious. Especially with the obvious food reuse policy. Most terrible experience ever!!
Great atmosphere and the its what you imagine when you think of a mom and pop shop.
Basic food at good prices
Evanston Grill is one of my favorite joints in Chicago. The first time I came here I was impressed by the customer care I got from both management and the staff.I have been coming here for months now and I can confirm they are consistent with quality customer care
Best bi bim bop in Evanston mr & mrs Lee are the sweetest people ever
]best ham off the bone.
Always great. A favorite place to eat when I get the chance.
Tasty ben beem bop
Limited menu, hole-in-the-wall diner...sandwiches and a few Asian dishes...bland and tasteless food.
One word. TASTY!
We loved this place.
Friendly owner. Breakfast all day. Small place.
