If you want a glimpse at the casual, pseudo-anarchy that always lurks beneath the surface of our society, this is the place. Prices are great, as is selection, but you are guaranteed to see shopping carts abandoned everywhere, items replaced on random shelves, cars parked as if there are no lines to mark spaces, and on and on. 98% of this is the fault of customers whose blithe and blasé attitudes would probably overwhelm the most dedicated of staff. Many of the staff members here are in fact very dedicated, but theres a good number of them who are somewhat more relaxed in their approach. It happens. That said, its still worth the adventure due to the prices and selection. On top of that, spending $100 a month there can earn you a 10-cent per gallon discount on gas, on top of the fact that the price per gallon is already consistently 10-15 cents lower than the Shell station just two blocks away.
Experience was good. Everyone was following COVID-19 protocols and employees were friendly. Even the bank staff was polite and professional.
Great Prices but store has no staff, never has more than 1 cashier, and has dozen person lines
Listen! This food 4 Less is a life saver! I usually go once a week since its not part of my daily commute. However, its worth the trip! As a food shopper, we all know you need to go to several grocery stores to truly get everything you need. Food 4 Less usually has about 85% of what I need at a great price. This location is large and I can spend hours ( but usually 20 minutes hahaha) there. I work my way from the produce all the way to the wine section. They recently closed the self check out station for whatever reason. I dont get that part. Nevertheless, I love this place. If you on a budget and dont want to sacrifice quality, Food 4 Less is your place!
Large selection of everything! Always fresh produce, fish, meats, deli, dairy, packaged foods, alcoholic/ non-alcoholic beverages and tons of other stuff.
I dont normally shop at Food 4 Less. I only stopped in because I had just come from visiting my Aunt Betsy. I stopped in and picked up a few cans of Progresso Tomato and Basil soup and Salmon. On my way home, I forgot my walking cane ( torn miniscus) and RETURNED to the store. I asked a young man about if he saw a Walking cane. Idiris was so well mannered and politely gave it back! Thank God for the good boys.
This grocery store is brightly lit, open spaces to shop. Friendly staff willing to help. Good prices and large parking lot.
There is a need for more employees working the registers. Recently shut down their self check out making it so much more difficult to check out a few items with the 2-3 registers that they have open. They should re open up the self check out lanes!Noticed some fruits with mold, double check before you purchase.
I love this store. Good, reasonably priced produce. Yummy cheeses and specialty items. Cashiers are always super nice, and do ask before giving my kids the lollipops they know are hidden behind the counter.
I like the prices here but it always seems like they are low on stock or out of stock on items I need
Store closes at midnight (atleast at the time of writing this review). Overall very under rated store. I feel like they have better prices compared to Sams. I hate lines and this store rarely has one.
Prices are competitive. Selection is efficient. The customer service department is missed. No space to make returns if you need to and nowhere to discuss items priced differently in the aisle than at the register. If they brought the customer service department back, 5 star rating for sure!
Awesome store. Their products are of high quality sold at very reasonable prices. The service was awesome. Recommended.
Always get great deals on food items here. Fruits are fairly priced and tasty. Deli staff are great. Great frozen selections and Kroger name brand through the store is a great alternative to name brands. Great hours being open until midnight!
Its possible they have all you need..... Except cashiers. It doesnt matter what day or what time. The lines are long like the Mississippi river and there is literally 2 or 3 cashiers open and they have 7 checkout areas.. Not counting the self check out. They make enough money to higher more cashiers.
If I can give the staff of this location a 0, I would. Extremely ghetto and rude cashiers! . I’ve had 3 separate experiences with three different employees. This is not to all the employees at this location. Of course there are many nice hard working employees here. But due to the experience I had with these three cashiers, I will no longer be shopping at food4less. Ghetto useless, good for nothing hood rats. Food4less, Please check on your employees on a regular basis and give them an attitude and customer service training. I even called food4less and complained. Nothing ever came of it. Just because your prices are low and affordable doesn’t give your company the right to treat customers like s***! I’ll have to pay a little more, but I’m switching to Marianos. Where customers are appreciated.
I like to shop at food 4 less I dont have any problem with getting help and every one I ask for assistance has been good to me.
Good store, everything you need.
The prices are just right and have good sale prices. They have a good fruit/vegetable section. I usually go there for the iced oatmeal cookies but, find more to buy.
Grocery store. Discount prices and everything is well stocked. They have a deli and a liquor department. They provide scooter carts for the disabled and disabled parking spaces. You can bag your own groceries.
They dont have everything but what they do have is good quality for a great price!
Good prices, good produce and bakery. Shelves are stocked. However, good luck trying to check out. The lines are always long and theres always confusion about who is open and who is not. Never enough lanes open.
Food is not for less at food for less. Actually way more pricey than expected. What we thought would cost around 40 cost us 80!! Better than jewel or Marianos however.
You may spend more than you thought, but thats only because you wont believe the deals compared to other stores.Free parking. This location is clean, well organized and bargains in most department.Clearly prices produce, but no scales. When you check out, savings come off at the end of the tape. Not my favorite way, but not unusual. Youll need a membership number, you can join at checkout. No fees, just slightly lower prices
They have some of the best deals on food prices in the entire area, but their staff could use some work on customer service a little bit. When we went there there Baggers and cashiers were not that responsive to simple things like Hi how are you doing. They just wanted to get you in and out.
I used to shop there all the time until they started taking the cashiers away. The savings aren’t worth the 40+ minutes you wait in line. After 10 there are NO cashiers so everyone goes through self check out. So the wait after 10 can be an hour or more.
Well, it is an economical place to shop. Its big, and warehouse like. I feel a little stressed out packing my groceries, because I am slow. They know their clientele and stock the store appropriately, so you can find some unusual foods. They always have okra Pickles! Yay!!
Great prices. Great lay out of store. Always a somewhat quick trip in and out.
Great selection of basic groceries at a decent price, but dont expect to find a vegetarian/vegan section... They dont carry dairy-free ice cream, cheese, or Amys products that youd find at Jewel-Osco or Whole Foods (then again, I dont think the two are catering to the same demographics). But I love that theyre open till 12am & the staff always nice (though not easy to find late night).
Wish I could give it zero stars. I went shopping there yesterday and only one checkout lane was open and there were no shopping bags. Apparently, you have to pay 7 cents per bag. Im okay with paying for a bag but how about have bags to purchase!!! Lots of stock missing from shelves and no employees to be found. This store used to be pretty decent, unfortunately not only has the quality gone down but so have the service, cleanliness and proper management. It was so bad that I will not return. I tried Vali Grocery down the street and was pleasantly surprised.
Freshest of produce, good selections of dry goods, nice selection of wines and spirits, limited deli but helpful staff. Always plenty of parking. Gas station located on premises with discounts with purchases.
This store has serious pricing problem. The mentioned price of most of the items comes incorrect at the register and then cashier sends a message for verification or goes him/herself, and then overrides the price. Also, they have no customer service sense. My only reason to go there is that I get a special brand of milk which either F4L or Marianos carry.
Bathroom is always disgusting. Prices are great. Today our cashier was not the friendliest, nor the most understanding. Eh.
I like to shop at food 4 less I dont have any problem with getting help and every one I ask for assistance has been good to me.
Good prices for groceries compared with Jewel and a much more comprehensive selection than Aldis. However, selection is still comparatively limited compared with grocery stores that charge higher prices. If you need something specific you might need to go to an additional grocery store to get it.
Great for dry goods, veggies, and fruit. Love is there is plenty of parking and that theyre open until midnight.
I have visited this store weekly for the past month and upon each visit where I spend $200-$400+ for groceries and the only options for bagging groceries to get them home are the cheap brown paper bags that tear when you open them or the smaller, slightly more durable bag that cost $1.00 ea. They seem to no longer carry the sturdy plastic bags that cost 10 cents ea.Also, the loud blonde cashier with the bad fake lashes is disrespectful to customers. No one deserves to spend so much money there to be treated so poorly. It used to be a nice store but that was some time ago. So I think its time to find a new place to shop.
They used to have large cans of powdered fruit punch. They havent had them in almost a year now. Theres nothing reason why I went there.
Clean store, helpful workers. A variety of food choices. They have thete own gas station. Its in a small mini mall surrounded by other stores.
You can always find good sales inside. Great prices and a large selection of goods.
Prices are good compared to other grocery stores in the area.Im very familiar with store and the employees. The value is good.
Horrible customer service Kevin (the manager) and Charia (Kevins obvious work crush) turned a simple beer purchase into an absolute nightmare. According to some Food4Less policy, all members of a shopping group must have a valid ID if anyone in the group wants to make a beer purchase. Ridiculous... I had a valid ID to make the purchase, and Kevin still refused the sale, because according to him, they can refuse service to anyone, at anytime. I will never shop at Food 4 Less again...
Cheapest prices for groceries in the area. You do have to bag your own groceries, but that is the only downside of shopping here. Shelves are well stocked, there are lots of sales, and they have a lot of healthy products.
No soda sales ever but good meat prices and Clearance sales. Dairy Clearance is really good too. Milk is always cheap so is good bread and peanut butter.
Absolutely horrible experience. I went through checkout wrote a personal check for entire bill 123.00 in groceries after spending 90 minutes shopping. Check out employee attempted to run my check and your system wouldn’t work. She phoned manager, who did absolutely nothing, didn’t even come out of the office to attempt to assist me or over ride the situation . I shop at your store frequently and had provided my I’d and phone number. I have never written a bad check. Had no other means of paying groceries on me. Store employees absolutely didn’t care, never apologized and let, me walk out. Will never shop at this store again. Management and almost every employee is rude and not helpful.
Good prices but be cafeful and double check fresh products (fruit, veg, meat, bread, etc). Often see flys, sometimes birds in the store. Might want to wait till you get home to use the restroom at all costs.
Love this grocery store because its a one-stop shop. You can find everything here!! Good quality and great prices.
The store was clean and not too crowded for a Saturday. I found a lot of specials which was nice however I found their meat prices to be rather High compared to Marianos or Jewels
Great prices. The app offers more bargains in coupons. The store has some really good stuff on the clearance rack and bakery clearance rack.
I liked it..clean store prices right..n customer service was just right. Even the customers were nice.👍👍
Fresh vegetables and meats all the time they have various spots of on sale items that are really worth it staff is always happy to help.
Great prices! Food selection is great ! Only lacks a few things !
Excellent value from big variety, low prices and good quality!
I definitely hate shopping at the store. Half the time items are missing however staff being as incompetent as they are are very friendly and try to be helpful but? You also have to be careful in what youre choosing if youre on a budget has some items are twice as expensive than Jewel or Walmart. Also store seems very filthy the past 6 months I started shopping there.
Decent produce, decent prices, and the staff will leave you the F alone, whether you want them to or not. Luckily, I hate being bothered, so Im glad for their apathy,
Great prices quality and helpful friendly staff
Great prices but its shopped hard and often out of whatever produce is on special. Ive managed to figure out when they restock or gotten very lucky.
Good prices on food items, and no membership like nearby place requires. Wider selection of brands of each type of product offered than at nearby place.
Best deals on soda and brand name food around. Good place to stock up on the staples.
I can FIND wheat bread FOR under $1.00 dollars GOOD bargains EVERYDAY.
Its a very clean store but their produce isnt exactly the best. Other than that, its a great store.
This store is a cross between a large grocery store and a box store, which is reflected in its prices. Its affiliated with and carries Kroger brands. Its gasoline prices are always around the lowest in town, and you get a discount on gas if you buy your groceries there. What more could you ask?
I love the Grocery store in Evanston, Illinois Im not for sure why they start charging for grocery bags theyre not in the City of Chicago I feel like is very Illegal I guess this how the rich stay rich
The shopping experience was fine, except for the fact that there was an unconscionably long line at checkout
I enjoy shopping at this store, because it is not too large, products are organized in a way that makes sense, and prices are reasonable.
Extremely ghetto. Limited selection. If its not on sale, prices are typically higher than competitors. Useful for eggs and milk after other stores are closed.
I love this place, its open late and good prices! Down size got to pay for bags, but I brought my own.
A great place to shop for produce. No frills just good shopping.
The prices are great, the customer service is good. Just wish they had more sales
Great prices and selection. Ample parking and friendly staff.
Great prices and a fundraising option for my kids school tied to the saver card plus surprising to me a deli, meat department, and beer plus gas rebates.
This is a pretty crowded store at certain times of the day, and its during these times that I dont like shopping here, mainly because you cant get around. Aside from that, the prices are great, employees are great and overall I recommend shopping here for groceries even if youre on a tight budget
Had everything that we needed.excellent service workers were very helpful.Great place for food shopping.Great deals and discounts. Plenty of parking for handicaps.
Great place if You are looking for low prices. Selection of non GMO is scarce.
THEY ARE VERY NICE AND THEY ARE VERY CLEAN, THIS IS COMING FROM A LICENSED JANITOR.
Better variety than Sams, and almost as cheap.
Prices are portable u can shop n not worry about spending to much prices are low for any one n d family
Quality is not always great. Prices are reasonable. Lousy wine selection.
Decent prices, some deals each week, but check out is slow.
Low prices and deals (most of the time) so its easy to walk in and just stock up on groceries.
Awesome gas station, cheapest gas without membership in the far north side. Lines to use the pump is normal here so there is a wait.
All the items I buy is priced beautifully!
Food is great but line is always long, however, when Im in the drive-thru, Im usually in and out quickly.
GROCERY STORE.... LIMITED SELECTION ON SHELVES LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED. BUT ITS THE CHEAPEST GROCERY IN TOWN (IN GENERAL)
I love the deals that they have. I miss the mega sale event when they have mix and match items.
The prices are very good! The staff there are friendly and helpful.
I save like 40% shopping here. Plus the produce is often better than other stores.
Great value easy to find items.
I am always looking for bargains, here I get Kroger quality and great service, while I save money.
Best prices and great quality foods my favorite store hands down
Some of the workers are kind, while others are in the wrong field. Checkout is pretty speedy, store is clean, and most products are easy to find.
Great store to shop at.Bit pricey but worth the trip.
I love food4less price are very reasonable. Love the staff very helpful nice kind!
Great prices and (pretty much) always friendly & helpful staff!
So reasonable. Great prices
Good products, good prices, friendly service, what more could you want.
Budget grocery but good enough for your typical rations.
One of my favorite places to shop!
Very large and roomy store. Employees are not super helpful but it is organized well enough to find most things.
