I bought a Stabicraft boat through this firm and am quite disappointed. The boat is fine, but the work they did on it was substandard and their communication was (and is) terrible. I dont think they ever called me back in a timely manner, and they had a dozen chances. The problems with this firm are ongoing -- I sent them a list of 7 items that need repair and I have heard nothing from them for 9 days and counting. Some of the items include major things like the motor wont raise to its full height position, which leaves the lower unit in salt water all the time and can damage the engine and/or transom when trailering, the tape holding all the wiring to the boat has failed and all the wiring is hanging down, and the hatch cover wont close and allows salt spray and wash down water to get into the cuddy area. There are many more problems, and this is all on top of the fact that they told me the initial work would take 2 weeks and they took 34 days.A note: my background is in construction -- I was a general contractor for 40 years and have built hundreds of custom homes and am the author of Making Money in Construction, subtitled A Guide for Contractors and Subcontractors. Every construction project requires at least a dozen subs, and if you do the math you can see that I have been on one end or the other of several thousand performance contracts. So I speak from experience when evaluating a persons or firms performance and I know what I am looking at here. My advice, stay away from Boat Country. If my experience is any gauge, they will do bad work, then ignore you when you try to get them to fix it.Update: 11/1/21: Since I still need to fix the problems that Boat Country caused with my boat, I contacted StabiCraft to get a measurement that I need to do the work. They apparently passed my request along to Boat Country, who, in a freak instance of timely response, said that they would provide the measurement I need right away -- they just had to walk out into their yard and take the measurement off another boat. That was 11 days ago. So, their current poor customer service gets added to their previous behavior, and the result is now a 1 star rating. Congratulations, Boat Country! Youre getting worse!
Great resource for marine products and services.
Great experience purchasing a trailer for my boat. Was able to order online, leaving a deposit. Price was as researched. Excellent communication. Easy to work with. Plate and tags arrived on time via USPS. I would purchase again from them.
Bought a boat from Boat Country last year and we felt it was a good price after shopping around. The boat has been great, other than a software issue with the stereo (more on this..). Ask us back then and we would have rated four or five stars. Over the past year we have come to realize that the moment a boat leaves the lot, they are done caring. After storing the boat with them over the Winter, we came to pick it up and the battery was dead, the boat was basically neglected and dirty in the corner, and the stereo had not been replaced despite a verbal commitment from them to reach out to the manufacturer. Now with COVID, the factory is not producing the stereos, and we have not been offered any contingency option on the factory warranty after multiple phone calls in early Summer. Half of our calls consisted of the salesmen playing hot potato with no real answers, just delays. In order to have music on our boat I stripped the old unit out and installed a new one on my own, swallowing the cost. Do not expect anything in the way of customer service from this retailer.
Ive tried to give this place a chance several times. They continue to be less than a qualified business. Their sales people, I guess if you call them that, cant seem to get out of their cushion chairs to help any or rather say hello. Also they dont care about the boats they sell. Whatever price they are listed cut that in half for the quality care they put into them as they sit uncovered and covered in mold. They seem to be confused when they have business hours too since I called before I went there and the gates were close. This was only 45 minutes after they were open. This review is over multiple visits and every time I leave with unbelief that they are even in business. I highly encourage anyone wanting them to sell your boat to do anything else other than them. This is coming from a buyer side. Give this view a thumbs to help others.
When we arrived at Boat Country, the gentleman sitting at the desk across from the main door was on the phone. The gentleman to the left wasnt and acknowledged us and took his time putting on his mask that the first guy was able finish the phone call and help us first. He asked us what boats we were interested in and we mentioned two that we saw online. He immediately pointed to the wall and told us thats all the boats that are available and that one doesnt even run (would have been helpful if they mentioned that on the listing) and the other one, he doesnt know anything about it. Then he pointed out the window and told us the boats are there for us to look at and should have ladders for us to use. Michael Murphy, your review made me laugh because never once, did any of them get out of their cushion chairs. They never offered to show any of the boats or to answer any questions we may have. We had a much better professional, friendly, and knowledgeable experience with the sales associates at Everett Yacht Sales and La Conner Yacht Sales.
Excellent staff.
I just purchased a Raider coastal 2384, Tim our sales person was great, answered every question I had. He was very knowledgeable about the boats and even had suggestions about add on products that had future add on features if and when I needed them. There was never any pressure to buy, they took me out for water test run to help in my decision plus another run to show me how to operate the features i chose. Unlike another boat and dealer i looked at boat country does have and installs the electronics packages in house without having to take somewhere else which was a plus in my book.
Great service and lots of awesome boats.
I have to say my experience with Mike was Awesome! He went way above and beyond to make sure that I got a Great deal on my boat. Everything turned out just as he said.I will definitely be going back when I decide to upgrade. Thanks.
I purchased a new tandem axle trailer from Brad at Boat Country in Everett WA. The transaction was smooth and conducted with common sense and good faith. Also, the time between ordering and delivery was quite short, Brad and the staff were very helpful on a few practical matters that needed a bit of courtesy effort when I arrived to pick up the trailer. My experience with Brad at Boat County was very good.
I called to buy a new boat trailer, but the salesman couldn’t even bother to google my boat before saying they couldn’t get a trailer to fit. I was recommended by someone with the same boat as I who bought a trailer here! Poor service and training of the sales staff chased me away from this place. I called a different dealer and they were able to help immediately. Don’t bother wasting your time.
We bought an Alaskan Smokercraft from Gary Good at Boat Country a month or so ago. The process couldnt have been easier. Gary was very helpful and low pressure. He and all the people have been great. Very responsive whenever Ive called. We plan to use Boat Country for all motor warranty work. Feel comfortable and confident that take good care of us.
The BEST Honda Marine service center in the N.W.
We had an appointment to get LED lights on our King trailer and the factory in Marysville blew us off. Derek at Boat Country answered our call, confirmed he had stock and replaced them in about 20 minutes while we waited. We’d hauled the trailer all the way from Fall City so we were very disappointed when King’s factory was closed midday. Derek was a lifesaver and prevented us from having to make a return trip. Great guy, wonderful sense of doing what’s right for the customer!
Mike was informative and communicative. He kept his interest and ours.We are happy with the experience and will be back if we need to buy or sell.
BEWARE, BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I went in too asked about a smoker craft 15 Alaskan boat. And I asked Gary Good about getting one that took a short shaft motor and he told me that they didnt make any of them that took a short shaft motor. He insisted I look at some junk used boats that way over priced. I proceeded to walk around and look at the new smoker crafts they had piled up more towards the freeway and there was a new 13 Alaskan with a 16 transom. I went back and asked him about it he told me some more salesman lies. It was like catching a kid in a lie. I had cash in my pocket to buy this boat. He also told me he couldnt order me one. Instead he tried selling me one with a 20 transom and a new motor. I dont know what part of it he didnt understand. I didnt want a new motor or a 20 transom boat. I already have a brand new motor.Well on the better side I went to Master Marine and Jim Jones helped me. I got a brand new Lund that is just as nice for $900 dollars less. With no hassle. And its what I wanted.
The salesman was knowledgable, asked the right questions, helpful and friendly. Helped me select the right boat for my needs. The boat was ready when I asked for it, at the agreed upon price with the promised work completed, very professional done also, by the way. Very happy
I bought a new Smokercraft boat from Boat Country- everything from the initial phone call to the final drive off the lot, including price, customer service and attention to details, was outstanding. I would definitely recommend Boat Country if you are in the market for a boat!
Excellent staff and great service. I learned a lot about boats this best place to go to buy a boat
Decent selection of used consignment boats and sales of smaller new boats. Friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Mike was very helpful. Easy and low pressure experience.
We recently bought a new boat from boat country and worked primarily with Tylor. From thee start to finish, they have been great to work with. Tylor was great about answering all of our questions promptly and making sure everything was absolutely right. He added some custom changes that we had hoped for and listened to any questions we had about the boat as it was being built so that when it was delivered it was perfect. Thankyou boat country and Tylor !!!
Quickly unloaded our surplus boat at the price we wanted. Would use Boat Country again.
Luckily I never had to walk through the door to discover what slimy used car salesmen these guys are.I sent an email asking a few specific questions about a Smokercraft Alaskan listed on their website. All I got in return was the typical Were wonderful, come on in, blah blah. nonsensical response, not addressing a SINGLE one of my questions. I responded back asking them to answer my initial questions, several days later, still no response. In the time it took him to pound out his useless email, he could have simply answered my questions and Id most likely be in there to check out the boat. Given they dont seem to care about my business, I dont care to give them my money.Plenty of fish in the sea. Ill be chasing them from a boat bought somewhere else.
I had to do 1 star to leave a review, lets call that a negative. No motivation to sell a boat. Must have been to busy sitting on his butt. They admitted to not servicing there boats. The boats were WAY over priced. They are terrible condition. Waist of time. Dont bother.
Pretty good selection of used boats at decent prices
We pretty much knew what we wanted - a 16 to 17 foot Smokercraft with a 90 Honda plus a 9.9 kicker installed. We arrived for the test of the boat, and the salesman called me by the wrong name (twice, even when corrected), then proceeded to tell us about what a hard night he had last night, a reference to his partying. He said the boat was ready to go - managed to get it in the water, then started complaining because it wouldnt start. He then cursed the kid who works in the service department, and called him up and started yelling at him to get over here. Another salesman showed up and got the boat going for our salesman.Once they got gas in it, it ran, and ran fine, however after reviewing the break in period on the engine once I took possession, I realized he overdid the RPMs. When John went to get the boat out of the water, he went into the unloading ramp, and almost got the boat and truck crushed when the fork came up to unload a boat about 30 long. We signed the deal because the nearest other dealer was too far away to bother (mistake), it took over an hour to fill out basic paperwork, the other salesmen were laughing at him in disgust, and I think were really wondering why we were putting up with it, he had to keep re-doing forms. When I got home I got a call from him saying sorry, he wrote down the wrong price, and that I owed $1000 more. After looking again, I saw this was correct, but still another mistake.Delivery took two weeks extra because the couldnt get the motor they said they would be able to get by the following Tuesday. The kicker was installed incorrectly, and doesnt have a full range of motion, the gas gauge that was supposed to be replaced clearly wasnt because I ran out of gas on a nearly full tank (good thing I thought to bring a 2 gallon can) on the Sound. Also, the salesman told me incorrectly how to flush the motor - I learned the correct way in five minutes of reading the manual - he clearly hasnt even done that for the product hes selling. Finally, I never received the plates or other licensing information. When I called to check, I asked the address the woman who answered the phone sent it to, and she said Southeast when reading me the address. I said, no its Northeast, she paused, then said, yeah, its Northeast, that is what I said. I asked what we can do about it, and she said, well you can just go get a copy at licensing. So now I have to pay for all the licensing duplicates because they cant fill out forms. Im not even bringing the boat back to them to have it fixed - their service crew clearly doesnt know what they are doing, or they could have done it correctly in the first place. There were two positives. The Manager called to let me know the reason for the delay in the motor - I appreciate that. Also, the boat is actually awesome even with the problems - having a great Summer!
Great Guys to work with and a Great Selection of boats.
Very knowledgeable staff.
These guys put the dirt in dirtbag.
