This location of Refuge offered pour overs, unlike the other location. Their coffee was balanced and good but did not have any vibrant tasting notes.

Really disappointed with the coffee and the menu options. Coffee didn’t taste good, and they had very few options. They were also out of the few flavors they had! When we came in the staff wasn’t very welcoming either. As someone who worked in a cafe, it’s upsetting to see easy and basic drinks not on the menu! The overall vibe of the store was really cute and cozy, but the coffee itself could be improved! I hope to come back and have a better experience next time and hope some small changes are made to improve this cute cafe!

Very good coffee. Got their signature Honey Cinnamon .... it was creamy, sweet but not overly so and loved the overall experience. Definitely recommend this place for a nicely and well done cup of coffee.

Hip, modern vibe with artisinal roasted coffees and drinks for on-site and to-go. I purchased some beans for at-home brewing and a wicked cool hat. Nice little jewel right in the heart of Fairhope - a breath of fresh air of a town on our travels along the Floribama coast.

I was a bit disappointed after stopping by today. The coffee was way too sweet even though I had him put about half the amount of sweetener in it. I complained and he offered no solutions, didnt sympathize even. Felt like there was little to no customer service there. The place was not cozy either. I had to try at least once, but I dont think Ill be back any time soon. Its a shame. The alternative milks offered they charge 75 cents extra for. I was charged close to $6 for this overly sweet oat milk latte. I usually pay less than $5 for a latte.

Im not sure I will ever give a coffee shop five stars on just their coffee/drinks simply because of the prices. I would give this shop 3 1/2 stars, but that isnt an option. They do, however, deserve more than three stars, so I will give them four. I asked the barista to recommend a coffee, and he recommended a drink called The Signature – a latte with honey and cinnamon. It was great! The coffee was small, though. The barista didnt ask me what size I wanted, so there may only be one size.

I’ve never had a better cold brew, mocha OR macchiato. If you’re serious about coffee, Refuge Coffee is the best. Their coffee is very smooth, not bitter in the slightest! Owner is a very nice, honest, Jesus loving man. My family will gladly support them any day.

I stopped in here on my way to visit my Mom in Mobile, Alabama. This was a cute place and the staff was friendly. They helped me pick out coffee beans to go for my husband. I paid 19 dollars plus got an iced coffee to go along with the 12 oz coffee beans. This would be a great place to meet somebody for business or work meeting. Right next to the strip with all the shopping you want. I would come back.

This is a great little coffee shop to visit in downtown Fairhope. I stopped into this coffee shop to do some work for about an hour while I was in Fairhope for Thanksgiving this week. There are plenty of seating options to choose from inside ranging from couches, tables, high tops and a couple individual chairs near the windows at the front of the coffee shop. The coffee shop has a subtle hipster vibe to the overall appearance and atmosphere. They have a very simple menu, but enough options to suit the needs of any coffee lovers taste buds! I ordered their signature latte called, the “Signature”, which has local honey and cinnamon blended into the latte. It was light in flavor with a hint of sweetness from the honey. The barista who took my order recommended this drink to me. Im glad I ordered it, because I could drink this all the time if I lived down here! The price tag on this drink was $4.96 which included tax. Expect to pay anywhere from $3-$6 depending on what drink you order. The baristas were very quick and professional with serving their customers. There were about 6 people in front of me and only two baristas working. I had my drink within a couple minutes after ordering which was very much appreciated. I will definitely stop into this coffee shop again when I am down in Fairhope! ALWAYS SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES WHENEVER YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY! Keep up the great work you guys.

I thought I knew every local coffee shop on the Eastern Shore. Turns out I didnt! Discovered this place by accident walking around downtown Fairhope. The vibe/industrial decor in here is incredible. Love the variety of seating for creative work (stand up and sit down tables, couches, etc.), the Christian mission, and the smooth espresso! Adding it to my list of favorite coffee shop finds of the year. If youre looking for a more purist coffee house that really knows coffee, this should be on your hangout list!

Refuge is the best shop Ive been to! 10/10 would reccommend for anyone looking for high quality(and beautiful) craft coffee in fairhope! The super-friendly and hospitable baristas have always been willing to adjust the music volume or anything else for a comfortable and productive atmosphere. They passionately focus on the quality and the region of the coffee itself over additives that mask those beautiful flavors, and offer a wide array of espresso drinks as well as specialty pour-over coffees in several methods. I always feel welcome to ask about anything I may be curious about and usually learn a thing or two about this delightful craft!
