Higher Grounds has great on-the-go food; I especially recommend the Grilled Ham and Cheese Bagel.I enjoyed chatting with the owner and the lady backing in the kitchen. It has very friendly service, and a delightfully quiet atmosphere, especially upstairs in the loft. I can see where it’s ideal for a small group of friends to meet, or even a board business meeting.I favor a dark roast coffee. As a visitor to Fergus Falls, I was surprised to learn that they carry their own house coffee blends. They call it rich, smoky, and balanced - indeed it is! I paired it with their Coffee Cookies (their own recipe) and loved it! This lady can bake. I asked the owner what she attributed her success to and she said it goes to who friend who bakes. After bringing her on to bake, she says the town came to enjoy their baked goods. I can see why!It has outdoor seating, Wi-Fi, take-out service, with tasty soup and sandwiches combinations, additional small plate options, and tea lattes.It is a neat building – but you need to be ready to take a hike up the stairs.They are open 9 AM to 5 PM weekdays and Saturday. I highly recommend it.

We loved this coffee shop. Great coffee drinks, fantastic country style sandwiches on thick delicious bread, and really friendly employees. Lots to look at, some great jewelry and decor items for sale. Very cozy with tables and couches, we could have stayed for hours chatting with the owner who was just so friendly and willing to spend time chatting with us about pretty much everything. Next time were in the area, were stopping by again.

Great little coffee shop. I don’t really drink coffee but the food here is great. They have a decent variety for lunch and this lady can bake. The cookies were awesome !

Not your normal franchise expresso store. More like grandmas house with every treat, sandwich, hot or cold drink, and interesting jewelry gift you can imagine. There is a really quiet loft if you want to think or have a quiet conversation. Nice place. Give it a try.

I loved the oriental salad and taco salads. It has a nice gift shop for books, hanging pictures, and Park Lane jewelry. Its a fun place to visit.

I frequently have lunch at Higher Grounds and really enjoy their variety of sandwiches and baked goods. Im pleased that they generally offer more than one type of soup each day to provide a bit of variety. All of the employees are kind, attentive, and pleasant. They know their customers and really go out of their way to treat them well. My baby shower was hosted here months ago and I am still hearing comments from out-of-town guests about what great food and beverages they enjoyed and how beautiful the interior of the coffee shop is. There is a great loft space with couches and a sitting space that is wonderful for quiet conversation. I will note that it seems to be a Christian coffee shop, as there is generally Christian music playing in the background, but no direct discussion by staff that I have ever encountered (I know that can make some folks uncomfortable). I definitely recommend this great place to anyone.

Our sandwiches were delicious (chicken salad and the apple turkey one), the owner was very friendly and helpful, but the coffee was quite disappointing (coffee grounds, lukewarm...) Not a bad spot if youre around the area though.
