I recently purchased a 2021 F-150 from Chip and Trey. They made the entire process extremely easy and fun. Even though I was there for 5 hours doing the test drives paperwork etc it seemed like I was there hanging out with friends. This dealership has been the best experience I have and definitely recommend those salesman. True, honest, and hardworking. Also have went out of there way multiple time taking care of me.

Having put my lightning order in with them originally, and then stopping by to talk I realized very quickly that was a mistake. The vibe wasnt right and without going into the grit of the conversation I had with my salesman, Ill just tell you that it was really bad. I quickly moved my reservation and will never approach this dealership again wit my money.

Trey was the best salesman weve ever experienced at a car dealership, and weve bought many cars/trucks over the years. He greeted us right away and was very pleasant and polite. After Trey learned of our needs/wants in a new vehicle he went to work quick. He found us a vehicle in what seemed no time and it met all of our needs/wants. If you’re in the market for a vehicle and live in NWF, I highly recommend you go see Trey Cate at Gary Smith Ford. Salesmen don’t have the best reputation, but Trey really did go above and beyond. The buying process was smooth and enjoyable, but most impressively, in the months following (i.e., after the money’s been made), they still remained super helpful. Truly can’t recommend them enough. You won’t be disappointed.

Highly upset with the repair service my son received on his Fiesta. He is heading off to college in a couple weeks and wanted to have “The works” done to his car. First thing listed on your website in “The works” is tire rotation. That did not happen. Third service listed says “vehicle checkup” which I assume would be a safety check. Well we knew there was a brake light out and the service department did not fix it or even point it out to us and acted shocked that we asked them about it. I am assuming that all my son got was an overpriced oil change. Now I have to take his vehicle down the road to another mechanic to get the service he expected through your business completed. Highly upset especially since he bought the car from your business. Unacceptable. You have lost our business.

Wife called to speak about a Bronco Sport listed on their website. Got transfered to Ross who explained the Bronco wasnt in yet, but he would contact her prior to it arriving. Asked about putting a deposit down. Said manager said no, first come first served upon arrival. He also told her about the markup in price which she didnt care about. She was willing to travel the 8 hours to get it and be there the minute it arrived. He told her he knows the delivery driver and will get a heads up when its coming. A month goes by and she sends him an email just to see if any movement has been made with the vehicle. He calls her and tells her they arent getting any Badlands in. She said, thats not what she originally talked about anyways. She once again gave him the stock number and emailed it to him. Not knowing people are smart and you can actually look up vehicle tracking through Ford directly we saw it was in transit and on its way there. He said hed have to look into it and call her back. Never called back, never emailed again. Come 8/24/21 I look up and see the vehicle is in stock and for sale. Probably already gone by the time Im writing this. Did he ever bother to call or email her like originally said? Nope. Why wouldnt you want to make an easy sale? Im sure they marked the price up even higher. This place clearly favors price vs helping customers. A salesman who cant even return a call is not someone Id want working for my business.

Beware of company that upsells additional needs and doesn’t fix problem that you brought your vehicle in for. Spent 10k on a 4 year old truck ..has had to tow it still 4 more times since towed to their Fort Walton Dealership. Doesn’t run and has approx 115k miles on Ford 150. We’ve tried to get them to look at the computer system again and they aren’t taking any appointments for 3 months. So our 20 year old is stuck in a state far from hole with no vehicle.We just out a new computer in the truck in the spring and still not running. Of course, Jarod doesn’t work their anymore!

My daughters Explorer had a 303 error code with engine light on. 303 means 3rd cylinder misfiring which caused the car to lurch and motor to shake violently whilst driving. We communicated this code to Ford service as we dropped car off for repair. Ford then did a 1331$ dollar tune-up to the car and had us pick up car.. Believe this was gouging as tune-ups do not cost $980 in labor.Drove car a mile after pickup and returned it as problem still there - engine violently shaking and lurching. Next day Ford Service replaced the coil on the 3rd cylinder only and car is fixed now. This repair cost $141 and was all that was needed to fix the car. This fix should have been obvious to anyone who could read or google what error 303 means. Ford should not have charged the initial $1331 tune-up as this was unwarranted, unnecessary, overpriced and did nothing to fix the issue.

I’m car guy but I hate the car buying process, I really do. I’ve owned 17 vehicles in my life and it never gets easier. However, I bought I truck today from the pre-owned car lot at Gary Smith Ford and it was the easiest and smoothest car buying experience I’ve ever had. It was actually a pleasurable experience and I never felt pressured once by anyone there. Super easy negotiations, super easy financing, and everyone I talked to was very friendly. Jeremy Bullock (sales manager), Mark Zingaretti (salesman), and John Crane (finance manager) are absolute rockstars, do yourself a favor and go see them!

Went online to make an appointment for an oil change but was told I will have to drive in, called a day before to confirm that an appointment is not needed and was told that it’s a first come first serve. Showed up at 7am, dropped off keys and then return only to be told I will have to make an appointment because they are backed up with vehicles that need to be service. I was the second person in but somehow I am at the back of the line while other vehicles being serviced.Fix your website or communicate with your staff instead of having customers showing up just to be told something else.

Amazing place! Great people to work with. I met with Ross, and he got me into a vehicle the same day! Im in love with my truck too, he did an amazing job helping me pick it out. Ill definitely be back and ask for him specifically when I need another. And I got it for a great price, now is probably the best time to buy.Ive had a lot of family members go here to buy a dependable vehicle. Definitely the place to go. Get a 2nd opinion!!I’m sorry, but I won’t be back to Gary Smith Ford. I was in recently after my car overheated. I was told my water pump was leaking and it needed to be replaced. This was true. It ended up costing me $3700 for the repair. I was charged for labor that far exceeded the “actual” time spent on the repair. I questioned the labor hours and was told you charge for the the hours the job calls for; not the actual time it takes for the repair.Not long after, I had issues with my AC system, and brought it in. I was told that my compressor was “about to explode” and my car was unsafe to drive. As I was facing another expensive repair, I decided to take my car to my local mechanic shop for a 2nd opinion. They hooked my car up to a diagnostic computer and my compressor was fine; it wasn’t about to explode. The only issue was low Freon, and the system had to be repressurized (or something). They addressed both and I’ve had no issues with my AC since.They also quoted me $1900 for a water pump replacement. So, Gary Smith Ford, even though I purchased my vehicle from you, you not only overcharged me for one repair, but used scare tactics to try and sell me additional service, for a repair that misdiagnosed. So, you lost my trust.I won’t be back for service, or when it’s time to purchase a new vehicle.

I took my car to get AC fix I made an appointment on Thursday at 2pm. They said to leave it over night. In the morning I called to ask that’s going on. No one called me back I left messages 3 times. 4pm on Friday someone finally called me back and told me they haven’t looked at my car at all !!!!! So what is the point for me to make appointment if you going keep my car in your shop and didn’t do anything????? And they also have bad communication. Do not go there !! How many days for you to find out why the AC is not working?

If you want go get a brand new car, you will be fine, the people are friendly but if need to repair or do any service, it’s the worse place to go. I left my truck there for 3 weeks and they didn’t figure out the problem, and now I basically have to got take the truck to my house and call a mechanic to fix

BLUF: Sloppy workmanship, slimey tactics, and no accountability.Do not come here for auto service. I dropped my F-150 for a warranty replacement on my windshield wiper motors. It sat there from Friday - Monday. I came in on Monday to pick it up and noticed the windshield was cracked by the wiper bolt. When I brought this up to the service manager he suggested a rock must have hit it when their mowing service came through, (the grass was not recently mowed) I explained to him that looking at the crack location (under the trim where there was no damage and around the bolt) it was done by someone prying against the glass to get the wiper arm off. He insisted it was a rock. He said he had to go talk to his boss, and came back with good news. They would replace my windshield using my FL drivers insurance policy offering 1 free replacement per year. I asked to speak with the general manager insisting they needed to buy one and not use my policy for their mistake. When speaking to him, he said, Yeah, things like this happen all the time, the mechanics dont always say something. Keep that in mind if they will be working on engine internals or electrical you cant see. Also, after another two days when I went to pick it up again, the rear view mirror wasnt even mounted properly and the tech had to do it over while I waited. Will never return and will be sharing my story with any of my friends who even mentions going to this shop.

Austin, the service advisor, didn’t give two craps about helping me or listening to any concerns. Brought my car in with CEL on and burning fuel smell. I was, and still am, only getting 16 mpg when it should be around 22. They had my car for two days and all they did was clear the check engine light then tell me to come get it. Then they told me the CEL was never even on the whole time my car was with them, but it came back on around 6pm the same day I picked it up at 5pm. They lied and they didn’t care at all to help. Would not recommend.

Ive never had a good experience here. Every time Ive gone there Ive been treated like they were doing me a favor by even talking to me. Once installed an aftermarket product for me, and did a lousy job. The product was damaged and it looked horrible on my vehicle. They were surprised when I called them on it and made them replace it.. I asked for a receipt of services, and the gentleman who did me the favor of waiting on me said they keep it in their computer. Total nonsense. I had to go to the service manager to get a receipt.After I got home, I noticed one of my tires were slashed. The truck only had 5,000 miles on it. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I doubt it.I was warned they were not known for their service, but they were convenient so I took a chance twice. Never again. Now I drive all the way to Pensacola to have my vehicle serviced. Ive even had people contact me on a Ford truck forum, when they see Im from the area, asking me where I have my truck serviced because they have had such bad experiences in Fort Walton.I know Pensacola is an hour away. But Id drive across the state before I do business with these guys again.

Below is my original post based off of a conversation with a representative at the dealership. I have changed my 1 star review to a 5 star because the department supervisor called me within hours of posting this and apologized, heard me out and offered to reconcile the situation by purely offering good customer service, which I appreciate. I do not know how my experience will be yet when I bring my first company vehicle to them but it speaks highly that management was so quick to respond and willing to fix the issue. I have left the original complaint because I believe reviews should be honest and transparent.Pretty surprised by the poor customer service I received today. I have purchased 2 brand new company vehicles from Ford in the past few months and called for our first oil change. Upon the receptionist taking my phone call, she told me that they do not take appointments but it is first come first serve. I respectfully asked if that is policy regarding company service vehicles. She irritatingly stated yes, again...it is first come first serve! I went on to ask if there was a better day of the week to send our employees over so it wasnt wasting company time and she irritatingly just hung up on me. I dont know if your service managers read these reviews but I run a very professional local company and I would never treat a customer that just spent $80,000 in December with your company that way. Furthermore, theres probably a reason every other company offers appointments...maybe look into that. I will look to make all future purchases at other Ford dealerships and will expect only the worst from your service department with regards to my future maintenance needs. Hopefully you can correct this mishap and learn to appreciate your customers a little more than what was represented today.

I am in the process of looking for a new SUV. I have been looking at the Ford Explorer and the Honda Pilots. Well I stopped into Gary Smith Ford the other day to take a look at the Explorers. I was met by a salesman named Rob. He was extremely helpful and friendly. He went over the ins and outs of why I would like the Explorer but didnt pressure me on why not to get a Pilot. Went there to get some rust on a 2019 Ford Explorer checked out. Keep in mind its only 2 years old and 30k miles on it. The collision manager there said its probably just surface rust and that hes been doing this for 38 years. I said I need to know if its actually through the paint. He offered for me to try and wet sand it myself lol. Why would I risk doing that to ruin the warranty? Otherwise they were booked till ATLEAST January. If its such an easy thing to check why not try to fit me in, considering hes never seen this happen before? I asked if they could just contract it out to a local PDR shop because of the long wait. He stated their shop doesnt do that, which is definitely not true as I know people whove had their vehicles taken to local shops from the dealer for PDR work. So, I took it to ALL PRO Dent Repair and they said its definitely through the surface. Good thing I got it checked out.TLDR; if you want to get the runaround for vehicle service /maintenance, this is the dealership.

Then they made excuses as to why they CAN’T Figure out there own scheduling deficiencies. Never again will I do business with this company. Always posting insanely priced used vehicles online and then bashing/blocking anyone who points out they’re asking far more than the KBB or NADA value which are what banks base lending decisions on. Not only that but they try to scam you on the value of your vehicle just to flip it and ask 4x what they offered you as trade. They are a perfect example of a stealership.

Be careful buying used vehicles from this lot. I purchased one and it was something wrong with it, within the second day of purchase. They didn’t want to help fix the problem after arguing with them they suggested I bring the vehicle back for repair...which they never did or the mechanic didn’t do his job well. When I picked up my vehicle after repair there was rat poop inside. Nasty!! I made them detail it. The salesman Ricky Smith also lied stating the vehicle would have to go to an Audi dealership the vehicle was never taken. I was left paying for my own repair. Do not purchase a used vehicle from this lot they take anything for a trade in and you could be the next one stuck with a 2000 repair bill!!

Ive taken multiple makes of vehicles for myself, my wife and my kids to the Gary Smith Ford service shop and their paint and body shop. This was for routine maintenance, accident repairs, new tires, upgrades, and even for squirrel damage (unbelievable how much damage a squirrel can do). Ive also used multiple other service/repair and paint and body shops in the Niceville-Valparaiso, Fort Walton Beach-Shalimar, and Destin-Sandestin areas. IMHO, they have done very good work in all areas -comparable to other area top of the line shops and better than some- at a comparable price. They will usually match tire pricing and the like. Ive also used some other dealership shops that have done decent work, but which were very overpriced IMO (e.g. the FWB Mercedes shop). I would recommend using Gary Smith Ford and do routinely take my cars and trucks in to them for some of the work I have done. Service Advisors, parts sales, cashiers, appointments, etc. have alys been friendly and helpful. Can usually get your car in within a day or two. Last time it was about a week, but thats been the longest.

I have never had such a horrible experience with a service department as what I have had here. I made an appointment for 9 am. I had my vehicle there at 8:30 and asked how much it would cost for the transmission service. The individual that I was working with said that it would cost under $400. I didnt like it, but knew it would cost more than I wanted to pay. I was alright with that. I didnt hear anything, so I called to see where they were at with my vehicle at around 2, but had to leave a message. I didnt hear anything back, so I just went up there at 4:30, thinking that my vehicle would be done. I was wrong. They never even looked at it. I had to have my wife turn around and come back to get me. The individual said that the schedulers had overbooked the day and there was nothing that he could do about it. What choice did I have? I left the vehicle with him. The next day I called at 12:30 to see where they were at with my vehicle. I had to leave a message again. I got a return call around 2:30 and was told that they just got my vehicle in and it should be done in an hour. I asked how much it would be and he said $495. I asked why it was $100 more and he just said that it wasnt the same transmission that he thought. How do you not know what it costs for a Ford Fusion transmission flush. I went to pick up the vehicle at 4:30 and asked why it was so much more? He just said that he didnt realize that it was a bigger transmission and took longer to service. Always an excuse frome this individual. Didnt want to do anything to try to make me happy. I will never do business with this company again.

These guys sold me a 45k lemon and refuse to address the transmission issues. They told me its under warranty so just drive it until it breaks. I went to the dealership with a particular truck I wanted to purchase. They told me they will send someone to get it and it will arrive in three days. On the day it arrived I went to pick it up and the salesman told me the truck I wanted was sold but they he found an identical truck. I briefly looked over the truck and it was pretty much the same as the truck I had agreed to buy. The day after purchasing it I noticed scratches and a small dent on the passenger side of the truck that I did not noticed when I purchased it as it was in early evening and dusk outside. 500 miles after purchasing it the transmission problems began. The truck shifts extremely harsh, clunks and lunges forward when coming to a stop. It just caused a small fender bender as a tourist slammed on his brakes in front of me and the truck lunged forward with each downshift causing me to bump into the rear of the other car. That is my first accident in 20 years of driving and its due to this dealership refusing to address the problem after 3 appointments for service.TLDR Save yourself the trouble and go to a different dealership. Ask around town about this place like I should of done and you will hear similar stories from other people.

I took my car in to be traded for another within my budget; even though I wasnt able to from being in a tough spot financially, they were courteous, professional, and treated me like family. While inspecting my car, they were kind enough to put air in the tire with a leak. I will be back in the future and would highly recommend this place. Ask for Trey or Chip---these guys were great. I drove into Destin last week, June 14th for a week long vacation.  6 hours in out of my 10, my truck started to vibrate and felt like it was going to stall.  I made it I to Destin and called the 2 closest ford dealers.  Both said they wouldnt be able to touch my truck for atleast a week.  I explained my situation to Jarod Barber, service advisor, and because I was only there for the week on vacation, he squeezed me in.  My truck required about 2 days worth of work and he went above and beyond to get me back on the road just in time for me to head back home.  Not sure how I could have made it back without him making it happen.  He called me back everytime he said he would and kept me informed. All I have to say is great service.

A Quick backstory, I have owned my last Dodge truck for 13 years and loved it. I personally put 220,000 miles on it, and didn’t actually want to get rid of it, but I knew my luck would only hold out for so long with a truck with that many miles on it...so I decided to start looking.After a very close friend (who recommended Gary Smith Ford HIGHLY) found this truck on their site, I was interested. Because she has bought her last few cars there, she was familiar with the staff and introduced me to Rusty Chambers. I felt comfortable right away (which was a GOOD thing because I wasn’t even ABOUT to get pressured). Rusty (manager) set me up with one of his main dudes, John Basting, and so began the journey.To cut to the chase, I had mediocre credit but definitely wanted this truck. They really had to work to help me out, but SUCCEEDED! I absolutely love it, love the experience and would highly recommend them/him. He was easy to work with, did not pressure me and laid out all the facts and figures as accurately as possible. The cool thing about it was I bought a basically brand new dodge rebel from a Ford dealer...and got a KILLER deal!!! Thank you John Basting!!!

Son had to bring vehicle in for a manufacturer replacement, he made a request for an upgrade and was willing to pay the difference, but was told quickly it couldnt be done, even though it was one of their own pieces being upgraded.

I have been a Ford man my whole life. The service department here is the worst I have ever seen. I left my vehicle 4 days for a 1 day job and had to constantly call to see when it was going to be finished. They usually didnt answer the phone either. They do not honor your warranty parts either. $1200 in labor for $250 worth of parts. I am highly considering becoming a Chevrolet man. DO NOT COME HERE!$2500 repair here and they broke another part during the repair and then charged me for it. These people blow...

Scheduled my wife’s new car recalls, took off in the morning to drop off for service. Shuttle was in route with me in the shuttle and received a call PARTS ARE NOT IN, not available. So, we turned around, went back to the dealership, got my car. Would have been nice to have been informed ahead of time rather than wasting my time, and time away from work. SERVICE MANAGER needs to do a better job of managing this center. 3 weeks scheduled out. NO PARTS!! Pathetic.

Made a great end of the year deal on an F-150 at Gary Smith Ford. Bailey was very helpful and the process only took about 2 hours. Perhaps would have taken longer if I had financed the truck. I ask for no dealer add-ons and no dealer back and forth shenanigans with price and they were straight forward with my wife and I. Would go back again.

Expensive! $304.00 to get a new key, then cut and programmed! And then charged me another $5.30 for a battery for my old key! Also wouldnt cut and program the new key I already had, saying it was a aftermarket key and would mess up their key cutter, yet it was bought from Ford! Gary Smith Ford is a Rip Off Fn place!!

This dealership has no clue what customer service is. They closed down due to a storm coming the next day. They never bothered to call me or any other customers with appointments that day. Weeks later the service advisor made no apologies and had no answers for why I was not contacted before or the weeks after. I paid 72k for my truck and this reject told me to take my business elsewhere. I’ve started a case with Ford directly on this dealer. I left a voicemail trying to speak to the General Manager he hasn’t me called back. Do yourself a favor take your vehicle anywhere but this sorry excuse for a dealership. I live right by this dealership, but I would never pay their inflated prices. This dealer is in a military town so they jack up the prices. I’ve drove 4 hours to Tuscaloosa and 2 hours to Mobile. Those two dealerships were outstanding and saved me over 5k vs this dealer.

I had a TERRIBLE experience, “Ricky” and I communicated via telephone bc I am in another city. He tried to sell me a car that I did NOT want and when I said I would get back with him he kept texting me. After declining the deal he contacted me the following morning saying how no one is going to help me with my credit and “it was a miracle” he got it done. I would not recommend ANYONE to him. I don’t even want to visit in person now. He’s young and immature. He was SO FOCUSED ON THE END OF THE MONTH BONUS versus helping a mom find a car! IM ONLY giving 1 star because I can’t do ZERO.
