We order dates every holiday season and these are by far the worst quality we have ever ordered. Dry and chewy and incredibly disappointing. The company does not stand by their product and will not offer a refund. They claim that they have never had a complaint before and that is not the case based on other reviews. Will never order from this company again, advise you not to as well.
Order arrived late because the “GLS” company that they work with for free delivery did not deliver my order on time and I had to wait for a week to get my order. I ordered fresh “sarma” which is air cargoed from Turkey on a daily basis and since it was a week late it wasnt fresh but it wasnt too bad either. But the “nescafe” that I ordered was expired and the “çiğ köfte” that I received a week later broke and it was smelling really bad so I had to throw it in the bin. I tried sending them a message and email but no one responded back. I have ordered from this place couple of times but I dont think I am going to again. You guys either should not make free delivery and if you choose to make it use a reliable company such as UPS or USPS.
I usually go here for international foods. They have a variety of foods however I recently purchased Turkish baklava in a closed and wrapped box for $20. When I got back home and opened the box the baklava had mold all over it. I live 45 minutes away from the store. I kept my receipt and I thought I would be able to return it. I talked to 2 cashiers at different times. I was told that I should talk to the owner. I finally got a chance to reach him. He told me that I cant get a refund because of 3 days return policy. I ended up wasting my $20 on a item that store should check periodically.
Was disappointed when I visited. They really didn’t have anything special and like 99% of their items are from Turkey. I’m middle eastern and couldn’t even find anything that I like. The prices are ridiculously insane too. I prefer Super Kings Market in Anaheim that has foreign products and much larger variety from so many countries such as Armenia, Israel, & Saudi Arabia .
The footprint of this shop is not huge, but wow there must be thousands of different products in this store. They had pretty much everything you need here and then some!Produce, meats, dairy, baked goods, and tons of canned and jarred food items from overseas. and many different dessert gift box like baklava. And much much more. This looks like a great place to build a gift basket for all your friends and family. Our visit here was so brief since we just came in for some milk. I am definitely returning with my fat wallet and going on a shopping spree.Parking is limited so if you can go during non-rush hour.
I always shopping Hamle’s online . I never disappointed when I ordered my items. If the item is not available they give credit or they give alternate item before ship to you. When I got my package today, they put a little present in it. They surprised us and made us happy.Thank you Hamle…
Hamle has a great selection of Turkish goods. I live in Phoenix and order via their website fairly frequently and take advantage of their free shipping offer. I am always impressed in how meticulously the goods are packaged. All fragile items are wrapped individually with bubble wrap. All items are then put in separate plastic bags in case of damage during transit. What impressed me most in my latest order was the chocolates that I ordered arrived in an insulated bag with cold packs inside to prevent them from melting on the way. All this was for free shipping. I highly recommend them.
This is my first order from this online market and my order has not been delivered on the day promised. However, the perishable goods fortunately are still in good condition on the day they arrived. My overall experience is good.
Great small place to get your international food on but they specialize in Turkish groceries. Very friendly staff, clean and they require masks for those concerned
Great fresh food for affordable prices👍😋
It is a nice store where you can find many different Turkish products. They also have an online shopping service which is also pretty good. The little refrigerator on the corner where they sell dairy products is fantastic. They have halal bacon and pastrami which are not very easy to find. Turkish Ezine cheese is tasty and a must try.BUT, guys please put the prices on the products. I couldn’t see it on many of them. Then I promise, this review will be 5 starts :)
So happy I heard about this place. I cook a lot of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food and I can find everything I need in this market. They have Turkish bagels called SIMIT. Those are delicious!! All of the snacks are so good.
A very good source for the Mediterranean market and food, I ho there to get my husband his favorite tea from his country.
Hamle market is the best market for reaching the best cheese and snacks up . If you like traditional drinks like Çamlıca ( Turkish soda) and şalgam ( turnip juice), there you go. And the delivery is great and fast to your home .
Love this place and love those people work. All things I need very things is in this store.
Expensive but selection of turkish products. Dont buy baklava here though, the worst one I ever ate.
Drove all the way from Laguna Niguel. Apple Maps states that it closes at 9pm, here at 832pm closed.
Very nice service and you can get anything you want very friendly peoples and clean
Great little Mediterranean market. Happy to have. A lot packed into a little
They should close online market. It has been more than 20 days since order. There are frozen products in the order. Such a pitty!
Always love it and can get fresh pitas, halloumi, real saffron, and lots of unique items
Absolutely 5 star service. Diligently packs fresh items in a thermal mailer with ice packs. When order arrived ice packs were still holding up. Extremely friendly and professional people.
Very bad in everything.I dont recommend this place.
Thats what i was looking for whatever you need you can find here from turkey nice to have you here guys thank youAnd also next door another turkish restaurant they have amazing simit and baklava just like same in turkey
I live in North California and I frequently place online orders to buy a variety of products from Hamle Market. Im absolutely amazed with the quality of service that they provide. Their website/online ordering system is very robust and order processing times is fast. They show utmost care to properly pack and ship each and every item. Fragile items are packed in stretch films and bubble wraps. Perishable items are carefully packed in insulative packaging and they make sure to put dry ice to keep them cold. Perishables definitely stay cold for min 1.5-2days (which is my case) but im sure they can stay cold and fresh longer. Shipping for orders above $59 is free, which is amazing! Frankly ordering from Hamle Market is more convenient for me than shopping from local Mediterranean markets. Last but not least, their customer service is above and beyond. The owner Esra responds to your inquiries in less than 24hours and she is very attentive. Also when you give a call to the store, staff does their best to respond your inquiries and even inform you about availability of the products. Highly recommend everyone to shop from Hamle Market.
Nice place, a little dated but lots of reasonable prices. the stuff they sell is mostly imported from Turkey and is always a good time going around just picking stuff up. I am greatly pleased and happy to say I would recommend this place to someone else. 👍
If you love your local Mediterranean neighborhood grocery store youll love Hamle. It always remind me of those little ethnic corner grocery stores in Europe. If you go there try their sparkling water called Uludağ. It is the only ultra effective home remedy I know that works instantly and its one notch below Draino. I love this place.
My GF is Turkish, we come here all time for the amazing Turkish snacks and other cultural treats.Their Pistachio Chocolate bars are to die for!!
Pretty Dishonest people. Not going here anymore.I went here maybe 5 or 6 times because Im turkish and they sell turkish goods. EVERY SINGLE TIME i shop, they over charged me. I buy 300-400 dollar worth which is alot, and I do go through the long receipt. They charge me things I dont even buy, or double and triple charge on the items I have. God knows how many people they screwed over, this last time i didnt even want my money back. Told them not going there again.
This is one of the rare places where I enjoy spending money! It is a customer oriented business, and they always keep promises. Hamle Market has great selection of products.
Staff is friendly, and I really like the Mediterranean food. But it has a problem with the space, so many stuff to show in a very, and I mean very, small area.Another thing is that some stuff are just being left there for a long time, beside the coffee, till it became not suitable for use.I bought some of the nuts from there but they were already rotten, I had to throw them away. But in general so many stuff in Hamle are not found anywhere else. And definitely Ill be visiting them again and again.
I have been a satisfied customer, from the San Francisco bay area, of the Hamle Mediterranian Market and have received nothing but excellent service. I recently reached out to them to request a special overnight shipping order and they did everything they can to get it done in a most expeditious manner. They packaged it in such a careful and thoughtful way with the best materials to ensure its safe arrival. I want to compliment Hamles management for their streamlined performance. I especially want to commend Mr. Esra for his hard work and excellent service. I highly recommend Hamle Mediterranian Market!George
Great customer services.Since its founding in 1966, Hamle Mediterranean Marketplace (Hamle Market) has been a family-owned grocery market. Hamle Mediterranean Market is the first Turkish grocery market in California. We specialize in selling a wide variety of authentic and hard to find Turkish products, national and international grocery brands, fresh produce, and deli items. Our store’s diversity is reflected not only in our wonderful products, but also in the cultural and ethnic mix of our wonderful customers and our employees. Here are some highlights of what you can find in our friendly store:- Authentic Turkish items, some directly imported by us. There are many ‘Middle-Eastern stores’ in the region, but none that bring you the authentic flavors of Turkey as we do, because they are not Turkish. Whether you are a baklava connoisseur, or picky about your feta cheese, or miss that authentic ‘sucuk’, or sour cherry jam, or tea biscuits, you will find all the familiar Turkish tastes here. If you want to make authentic Turkish tea or Turkish coffee, we carry the equipment as well as the original Turkish teas and coffees.- A wide range of international grocery items catering to the cuisines of that region. We have Persian, Armenian, Greek, Arabic, Bosnian, and Mediterranean items.- Our fresh produce is of highest quality and at the best prices you can find. When you visit, you will be able to tell the difference because we carefully select only the highest quality items to bring to our store. And, you will be amazed at how low the prices are for high quality produce. In season, you will also find unique produce items such as fresh dates, or sour plums, or green almonds.- Our deli section has a variety of cold cuts, cheeses, olives, and other items. We can slice your pastirma the way you like, or give you a coil of Sucuk to go with your eggs, or a wedge of Kasar (Kasseri) for your special grilled cheese.- In our refrigerated section, you will find the national brands of dairy products and tasty yogurt selections, as well as some special prepared foods like ‘borek’ or ‘lahmacun’, hand made by local artisans.- Our bulk goods provide you a wide selection of nuts, grains, rice, and other items in amounts you desire. You may especially like the authentic, smaller yet tastier Turkish pistachios, not found elsewhere around here.- We also have a variety of non-food items from inexpensive calling cards, to music CDs.We bring all these and more to you in a small and friendly store, where you will find personalized attention and Turkish hospitality in a non-pretentious setting, as it has always been. We are now also pleased to serve you online, no matter where you are.
Ive been shopping here since 2007 and quality of goods & services keep getting better. Since then they expanded to the adjacent property, added more variety of products and started online ordering. Almost every type of Turkish food is available here including çiğ köfte. Recently I started using their online ordering and am very satisfied with the free shipment for orders more than $59 & how meticulously they wrap the products I ordered. It was amazing to see all pasta & rice packs are individually wrapped inside grocery plastic bags to avoid damaged packs during shipment process. To summarize I strongly suggest Hamle to anyone looking for quality items for decent prices.
This place seems to be pretty good for Mediterranean stuff and Middle Eastern culture type things. I would have gave it five stars but sometimes the people working there theyre not very friendly or talkative. Its got a good location not far from Mile Square Park down the street and Sams Shopping Center across the street.
The best Mediterranean market in L.A.! They are soooo friendly, careful and fast. Thank u so much
Staff was rude.Cotsumer service is bad.👎
Very nice service
Excellent product Western and middle Eastern awesome prices
Hamle is a very good mediterranean market with a variety of things. One thing that can improve about Hamle are the fruits and vegetables. A lot of them are usually moldy or covered in flies and they should be replaced.
I like this place. Prices are good, produce stuff is always fresh, people are helpful. And they sometimes get fresh fish!
This small market has it all! FRESH produce!! And the customer service is OVER THE TOP! The clerk at the front even helped us pick up fresh baklava from the restaurant 2 doors down - and they werent even open yet!!
Really good falafel wrap. Inexpensive, quick, spicy if you want it, and good salads + toppings. Highly recommend if youre looking for quick bite.
A great little find if one wants to go off the grid and skip the chain grocery stores for a change of pace. The markets space is small but carries fresh vegetables and plenty of Mediterranean- type foods, including canned and bottled foods that one can stock up on, and are not found in the big grocery stores. For variety in food shopping, try this place every so often.
Good selection and quality of produce and products. Very friendly staff even cloe to closing time. Excited to find this place.
I love this place! They have everything! Fresh and at a great price. Wonderful help. Great people. Reminds me of old world NYC where you can sample something before you buy.
Great little Mediterranean market with great prices.
This place is a hidden gem. They have a simple menu, but everything is delicious. They have beef and chicken shawarma, falafel, and scrumptious pastries. For the meat, you can order chicken or beef, or my favorite, a combo of both. With the meat, they give you a choice of sauces and veggies. You can order a plate, which comes with rice and salad, a wrap made with a pita, or a sandwich on their fresh baked bread ~ Yum!. They have walnut and pistachio baklava and kataifi, and some other miscellaneous items that vary. If you have not tried them out, make it a priority!
Great variety of products from different countries also, now they sell ground Lamb, ground beef, fresh chicken breast and half chicken and it tastes great. Great prices! Love the music while shopping😀
This place is a gem!!! Its like walking into a market in Turkey. They have a great selection of authentic Turkish products that we cant find anywhere else. The staff is always so helpful and friendly!
Rip off. Beware. My shipment has arrived way late and with many missing items. Not anymore. Unshipped items are listed still on their web site. Why they did not shipem I can not understand. I will file a complaint to consumer offices.
Waited 5 days for them to finish preparing my order but when eventually I can talk with them they told me that they are gonna send it 3 days later because of the frozen products I asked ( by the way only thing might be frozen is sucuk if it is )As a Turkish person even tough I knew that everything cost much more than they should I wanted to try but waiting 5 days before they ship anything was enough for me
Great products and awesome customer service!
Turkish goods
Ordered some stuff online. Olive box was broken. I didnt make it a big deal. Then noticed the jam flavor was different than the one I ordered. After that I sent them an email. Total cost of those two products were around just $10 which is not a problem. But the way they handle it is terrible.Contacted with them via email. They asked for pictures and I sent it right away. Waited couple days, but no answer... i heard that same thing happened to my friend as well. he was saying “they are like that. No one replies!”Im not gonna buy anything from them. First they need to learn how to manage online orders, then they should start selling online!
Nice and clean, prices are very reasonable. Will come back again.
You can find many products from middle east and Turkey. I liked it there. I bought a lot of quality products.
🍒
Best quality and best service.
Good place to show middle eastern grocery, fruits, vegetables . Reasonable price. They have almost everything for one stop shopping. I would definitely recommend this place
It carries some middle eastern bread. Otherwise, Im better to do my shopping in big grocery stores. This place needs to be more organized and cleaner.
Great quality and reasonable price.
Very nice neighborhood market. Great vegetables and fruits diversity. Many Mediterranean european sweets, baklawa lokum, and many others, pistachios spread which is no where else to be found. Highly recommended
Good food
The owner is SUPER nice and have awesome Mediterranean Items.
Good selection of Turkish products. Prices are also good. You dont feel like you are getting ripped off like most of the Turkish/Persian markets. They probably need a bigger place and more than one cashiers.
Great store for near/middle eastern cuisine. They promptly sent me the items that I had purchased online. Packaging was secure. I will definitiely do more shopping at their online store in the future.
Good staff, fresh products! Like this store 🙂
Been shopping here for many years, if you are looking for a well priced international market, this is the market for you. Great produce, wide selection of Mediterranean food items, nice bulk coffee and nuts, and nice and friendly people running the store.
