The service from this Firestone location was very disappointing. I was having minor overheating issues so I DROVE my car to them & they changed a heating hose & refilled the system with coolant for around $200. Thought that price was high but whatever. When I went home, I smelt something weird from the engine bay, checked the radiator fluids and they were fine but noticed that their staff didn’t put coolant in my reservoir. Brought the car back the next day, telling them about the smell and that there was no coolant in my reservoir. They was resistance from them with trying to get them to put coolant back in the reservoir but after being adamant they did, however, they said they didn’t have any staff on site that day that could check why the car had a weird smell. Two days later, after driving the car a lot, not having any heating problems, no leaks and had the smell going away I still decided to bring it back just clear my conscience before bring the car on a long drive. I LEAVE the car with them, for 30 mins, then get a call that my radiator is leaking and it would cost over $700 to get a NEW radiator, I found that odd because the radiator was relatively new. So I got a ride back to them and asked them to show me where it was leaking. They pour coolant into the radiator and it drips out throughout the bottom of the radiator instantly like a shower head and created a puddle. Now I can’t start the car for a few minutes without the car overheating. It also takes a lot longer to cool down which is worst than it was before. The staff didn’t want to accept any form of blame for potentially damaging the radiator by testing it with too much pressure or whatever, or denying to giving me some type of discount for the random costly repair, and to top things off, when I tried to understand how the radiator could have been damaged, they were dismissive and a female staff said that she didn’t want to deal with me and my car and that I should carry I elsewhere. That was very unprofessional especially seeing that the way that the radiator got damaged was questionable and that the car can’t be driven after carrying it to them. I can’t even DRIVE it to another repair shop. I would never bring my car to Firestone again and I won’t recommend anyone to come here. You can get quality work with good customer service elsewhere that won’t cost an arm and a leg. The damage on the radiator was very shady and unsettling.

I have went to them before for two new tires and they were great they got me new tires as well as rotated and balanced. Today I called about possibly having them look at my cars a/c because I’m having problems with my cold air. The only thing that I can’t stand is when they tell of course they’ll look at it but I would have to drop it off and it might be ready between now which is 9 almost 10 am to 4pm I can’t just wait around without a car until then. I have things to do and I want my car fixed in a proper time I want them to give me a smaller time frame not an all day thing I have a trip I have to go on as well as take my daughter back home. They do great work in my opinion but the time frame is what’s the issue for me. I do t have time to waste all day with my only car in the shop.

Last week I made an online appointment to get my oil changed and my tires rotated. I have owned a Jeep Wrangler for the past 5 years, with this one being 2 years old. I have always rotated my tires every other oil change to ensure I dont wear out the tread as fast. I had my husband take my jeep this weekend to my appointment while I was in CPR training and the customer service he experienced was just awful. First, they gave him a hard time about the size of my tires and lift. I have 33s for tires and a 5-inch lift kit. It is the exact same one I had on my other jeep, that I have never EVER had any issues with when getting service here. Lauren told my husband that they would not be able to do the tire rotation unless he had the key to get the tires off, which he did. The only thing he did not have was an allen key, which every body shop I have ever been to has one. Then she said it would cost DOUBLE because of the size of my tires.....ARE YOU KIDDING?! I have never been charged double for the size of my tires! She then refused to have my tires rotated and stated that the tread was fine. Yes, the tread is fine because I rotate my tires like youre supposed to!!! My husband didnt want to argue with her so he just did the oil change and left, but then she put in my paperwork that a tire rotation is recommended and that it was declined!!!! Yes, it was declined by Lauren!! I have never been given such a hard time by a staff before when it comes to my jeep. They even went on to tell my husband that its ridiculous that I lifted my jeep and if I ever got another vehicle to not mess with it. My jeep runs great and what I have done to it has actually made it ride a lot smoother. So, unless your paying for my vehicle you dont decide what I do to it. I actually have smaller lift and tires compared to other jeep owners I know. I highly recommend going elsewhere to have your vehicle serviced.

I have a friend who has a son who took her car here to have it serviced. She got an alternator and something else and they didn’t reattach the fuel line. She went to get gas and spent $80 only for it to all run right out. She called and told them what happened and they said they wouldn’t take responsibility. Disgusting service.

Firestone and the staff at this location are GREAT. I was recently on my way to a camping trip over the weekend and had to make a 2 hour drive. About halfway through my drive my tire had a split and started bobbing badly I took it to Firestone and they instantly were able to assist me and talk to me with no wait time. The gentleman exam in the tire and let me know that it was split he also alerted me that I had a nail in my other tire. I was originally just going to replace my tire that had the split but then he offered me the Firestone credit card with no interest for 6 months if I was to get two tires. Needless to say I was approved for the credit card walked out with two brand new tires paid a little extra for roadside hazard on the tires as well. I would say from the time I walked into the time I walked out it was maybe an hour to a hour and 20 minutes tops. the staff there was very friendly and very informative and alerted me about certain things about my vehicle. I would definitely recommend and now I am a Firestone customer.

UPDATE: I walked in to Tire Outlet on Main today and they had my 4th tire mounted and my spare converted and put up in the compartment in about 45 minutes.Please if you are reading this, do NOT give these people any business. I decided I wanted to replace all 4 tires on my Jeep Grand Cherokee as well as an oil change. I replaced my front 2 tires a little over a year ago, but for peace of mind, I decided I wanted all 4 replaced and 1 of the front 2 converted into the spare. I thought this was a simple task for an establishment like this but boy was I wrong. I got a call from Lauren a few hours into the service telling me that my back 2 tires had locking lugs that were extremely difficult to get off. She said the only way to get them off was to break the stud but not to worry, because once THEY broke the studs, they could replace them for $300. I told her to not replace the studs once broken since the car is drivable without them. This morning, I get a call from her again telling me that they are refusing to touch my left rear tire unless I pay for the 3 hours of labor needed to replace my other rear tire. She also mentioned that my spare compartment was “way too rusted” for her to access although I have taken out my old spare and put it back in all within the past year. I again tell her I am not agreeing to that and I am coming to get my car. When I first checked in to the shop to get my car, the other employee let me know that they were unable to take off my locking lug properly because they did not have the correct tool (which is not my fault since they are the mechanics?) As a 20 year old woman in a college town, I have always been weary of commercial mechanics. When I first heard that I would be dealing with Lauren, I felt a little bit more at ease since she is also a woman but again, boy was I wrong. I could not believe how degrading and disrespectful Lauren was in person. First, she wouldn’t get any closer than 15 feet away from my father and I when discussing my car, so we were almost having to shout across the showroom. Next, all she basically wanted to do was make me feel bad for the condition of my car and tell me how much I was neglecting it (mind you, my Jeep is an 06 that I have had less than 2 years). When I brought up to her the concern I had about why she was unable to access my spare since I have never had a problem with it myself, she then threw out an excuse that even if she could access it, none of my tires were in a good enough condition to be converted to a spare (which like I said earlier, I have 2 tires on my car with less than 3,000 miles on them so I know for a fact that’s not true). I took my car and I am refusing to do anymore business with them. I will be buying a 4th tire and taking it elsewhere. Luckily, they hadn’t discarded my front 2 tires yet, so I was able to get those back to convert to a spare on my own.

If I could give zero starts I would. I broke down on 75 & had the spare but the spare was not mounted. This place took 4 hours to change a tire on a rim. The lady told me I had to wait b/c there were 7 cars in front of me. Uh…mounting a tire takes less than 30 minutes!!

Took my car here and they said my fairly new radiator was cracked and the whole thing needed to be replaced costing over $700. I then took my car home to a certified mechanic who stated there was nothing wrong with my radiator just a $5 clamp needed to be replaced. BE CAREFUL I would not take my vehicle here again.

On college move-in day on a busy Saturday, we had a flat tire. Bryan and Jeff (I believe that is their names) in the front office got our tire fixed quickly and for a very reasonable fee. I was impressed with the great customer service and how easy going they were. I also want to thank the young man that went out of his way to bring a hydraulic jack out to our car to take the tire off for us versus having us use our own jack. He was super nice and courteous. They destroyed my flawless rims. These people are pathetic. My rims were returned to me with many scratches that were not present before. I was told it is impossible for the mechanic to scratch the rims. I posted a picture where you can see two scratches located around the valve stem and another where you can see indentation caused by prying. The mechanic I reported this to said sarcastically: its a good thing we take pictures before we mount tires. I was later told over the phone, by a manager, that this is not true and is not company policy.

The manager on duty on July 21 was the one of the most rude and nasty managers I’ve seen at any establishment. I was told that I had a 10:30 AM appointment the night before, and when I got here the manager said no Firestone accepts appointments, that I have to leave the car there for most of the day. He was rude and nasty in general.I got an appointment the next day at the firestone on Main Street in Gainesville without any problem, and got excellent and friendly service there, and got out within an hour for a complete alignment and oil change.

The place was mostly clean thats about all the good I have to say... They refused to do work on my car, saying my rims (that were factory ordered to make sure they were right) were not the same so they couldnt align it. I drove over an hour because they were open on Saturday only to wait almost 30 min only to be told we cant do it they would have if I ordered 4 more rims and tires to match but mine are already new. Just because Im a woman and blonde does not mean I dont know my car! It would have been the easiest alignment because I JUST REPLACED THE FRONT AND REAR ENDS ALONG WITH ALL MY SUSPENSION! good luck they overcharge

I called the night before to schedule a tire alignment. It turns out you cant actually make an appointment but I could bring it in 730-8am and have one done. I show up around 0800 and find out the alignment guy wont be in until 930-10. So as instructed, I go get breakfast and come back to Firestone and study in my truck until 0930. Once I come back in, I was told by one of the mechanics that he is putting me at the bottom of the list and I have 5 new people in front of me. This was inaccurate. I spoke with Brad who took great care of the situation. I was still put out by the inaccurate phone call the night before, but overall, Im ok with the trip to Firestone today.

Completely ripped us off. Charged us almost $1000 to put in an alternator, alternator belt, and a new battery even though my battery was brand new. Td me two hours and it has been almost 5 and my vehicle still isnt fixed yet. I will never ever come here again and I do not recommend coming here.

If your looking for a place that doesn’t do their work right the first time, and a place that has you sitting at their shop for more than 3 hrs prior to me taking the truck in Saturday for a basic fuel filter/oil change service, than this is your GO TOO SHOP! There are 4 techs on my truck trying to figure out how to bleed the fuel system and they can’t seem to figure it out. Smh don’t bring your Vehicles here for anything not even a flat tire repair.

Able to get the job done, when other locations wont.I was directed to Firestone by Enterprise for a tire repair on a rental. The tire was leaking down steadily (TPMS light warning, had to air up a couple of times), and I actually stopped at another location in the same town and was brushed off like they couldnt be bothered. I called this (Archer) location and the service writer had a completely different attitude, very can do, and said he would be able to take care of it in the remaining 4 hours they were open (as a simple tire repair should). He asked the tire size in case it required a replacement, so he could safely make a commitment to the repair. Knowing he had plenty of the size in stock, he said Come on over. I did just that, and he immediately started the process of getting a repair authorization. It wasnt fast, but didnt take the 2 hours the other location tried to tell me it would, just to get the work authorization. The records also showed the vehicle due for an oil change, and he said if I had time, they could do both things for me. I was visiting family, and could get a ride back to their place to wait, so I was fine with that. ALL of this was committed to be done before closing, suiting my schedule needs just fine, so I gave the go ahead. The leak wasnt that easy to find and fix, but the oil change was done, and in right around 2 hours total, in a very busy shop, they got everything done. If you are looking for service or Firestone tires in Gainesville, this is the location to choose.

I went in because my tires were squealing sometimes when I turned. I thought the pressure might be low, but couldnt find an air gage. Turned out there was a nail in one tire, and the others were close to needing replacement. I went ahead and replaced all of them to have peace of mind. The front desk people and technician were very nice. The store was small but the waiting area was clean and pleasant. I think there were 8 service bays, but it couldve been more. The warranty is good nation- wide, and there is a location in my town

I typically don’t like to complain. However the service has gone downhill. Use to bring my accord here and Charles always did a fabulous job helping me out and taking his time.Now it’s next to impossible for me to even have a conversation with a customer service technician. Either want me out the door ASAP or off the phone ASAP. I just want my car fixed the correct way, it’s bothersome to have to call back to reiterate simple instructions that were given.They tried to originally put a tire on which was completely different than the rest to get me out the door fast. I was appalled as I just spent close to $900 on tires with warranty at the same location less than a year ago.Every time I try to call, the amount of time it takes for the phone to be picked up is ridiculous. Almost 3 minutes to pick up and didn’t even answer my first two calls.I will not be returning, as this is not the first time a situation like this has happened at this exact location.Management needs to step it up.

Very professional and quick for my oil change--I made an appointment a few days in advance as they book up fairly quickly for walk-ins. My check engine light had come on a week prior, so I asked them to run a full engine diagnostic work up. It turned out to be just a loose gas cap and thankfully nothing serious, and they actually ended up discounting the price of the diagnostic work up for me! Everyone I spoke to was extremely patient, kind, and cheerful, even with a particularly rude customer who was there at the same time as I was. I now understand why they fill up their appointments so fast! Ill never go anywhere else!

In February 2018 i had an issue with store # 008788 when visiting family. I reached out to the corporate office and was advised to visit my closest facility which was store #014141 in Gainesville, FL with my discrepancy. They investigated the issue and fixed the problem ASAP even tho they where not responsible. Great Management and very satisfied with service .Appointments are recommended if possible.The wait is lengthy but to complete a job properly it will take adequate time, which is understandable. Luckily there are stores and restaurants within walking distance to occupy your time.

DON’T GET A BRAKE JOB QUOTE FROM THESE PEOPLE!Oldest trick in the mechanic’s book...I took my car into Firestone for a front brake job. I just needed the typical pad replacement and rotor turn. The estimate form the conversation the day before priced it at $144.95. That was cheaper than 3 of the 4 other places that were called for an estimate. The car was dropped off and later on get a call to say that it needs new rotors. I’m mechanically inclined enough to know that sometimes this is the case. However, the rotors were less than two years old and the brakes just started making noise a few days ago. The guy that called me said he wouldn’t change the pads only and the rotors were too thin (Nissan standards) to turn. He said he wouldn’t do the job unless it included new rotors. SO, BEFORE TAKING THE BAIT ON THE LOW QUOTED PRICE, ADD IN THE PRICE OF ROTORS AND ADDITIONAL LABOR AUTOMATICALLY BECAUSE THAT IS PART IF THEIR GIG. This is what dishonest mechanic shops do. Normally, the national brands don’t do this, but Firestone seems to have thrown their hat in that ring.

The quote I was given online was met! In fact, in store it became a buck less. I inquired about military discount, and sure enough, even less after it was applied! Got a tire change and had zero issues! I asked to keep my old tires and they put them in my trunk. Very comfortable wait area, they had HGTV on. It was packed, so it took about 3.5 hours, but the shopping center is right there so it was not terrible.

They fully explained the issue I was running into and humored the various questions we had.The only issues we had was a longer wait time on the inspection, but that was due to fewer mechanics (vacation time synching up caused that issue). Overall, a very friendly place happy to answer any questions we had.

I had emergency service done when my Yukon belt tension adjuster melted. The truck overheated and lost fluid as was evident by the very wet passenger side running board. They did very well replacing the broken parts, very timely considering the amount of vehicles they were servicing. Very attentive customer oriented interaction. I called back a week or so later to get a copy of my invoice and they emailed it in minutes, Thank you.My only complaint and unfortunately its a big one is I specifically asked each time I spoke on the phone with them (2 or 3 times) to check the radiator fluid, one of the managers assured me they wouldnt send out a car that wasnt ready or safe. I picked up the truck and started driving home to AL and less than 5 miles on the interstate it started to overheat. Thankfully I had a cup of water and 2 bottled water which I added to get me home. Someone didnt do their job. This wouldnt be a big deal but if I didnt have that water I would have been along side the road with my 80 year old father who couldnt have withstood the heat and that could have turned into an ambulance ride for him for something as simple as checking the radiator fluid. It would have been a perfect job if not for that.

I had marked the tires before I had went to the shop, thats how I knew that service was never performed on the passenger side. Please beware, mark your tires so that you know the position of them before & after tire rotation service.

I had a sheet metal screw in my left front tire and was told it was against the law to plug a tire that is over 4 years old. They said the only thing they could do was sell me their least expensive tires for $500. Nissan of Gainesville inspected these tires last month and they met satisfactory wear. I plugged the tire myself!

Horrible service. Avoid at any cost.They did not perform diagnostic as they told me, they gave me a quote for parts and labor after their diagnostic and were unable to provide me a paperwork in regards to the diagnostic which means they never performed it. My car was never moved since it was dropped off. Initially they said i would have to pay for diagnostic fee if i want to take my car somewhere since it is towed however when i called back to pay the diagnostic fee over the phone, they said i did not owe anything. When i went to the store asking for paperwork for diagnostic performed they were unable to provide me one. What a liar!Wasted my time for 2 days and insurance had to tow my car somewhere again! Glad i did not spend unnecessary 500 dollars!!!

I came into this location with an Enterprise rental car that I have driven from Texas to Florida - had a tire light on and a nail in the front right tire. I expressed to the manager Tony that I had a 15 hour drive in front of me and needed to get on the road. In order to try to up the bill, HE told me I need to patch one tire and replace another two. After waiting for over 3 hours (arrival time 730a), I asked to speak with the mechanic who told me the rear tires were fine. Tony wasted 3 hours of my time because he thought he could squeeze Enterprise into paying for the additional tires. I had sick children and a long drive...thanks for ruining my day because of greed Tony!

I feel that they are scamming people just to make more money by upselling on services that are not needed while making excuses as to why they cannot perform or guarantee services requested. I have been a Firestone customer for a number of years now (from different locations) and some stores do in fact have great customer service. This particular store, Ill never go back to. Most recently, I called in to the store and made an appointment for a routine oil change for my vehicle. This was done a couple days in advanced and my appointment was confirmed. On the morning of my appointment, I showed up right on time for my appointment and the service rep said he was unable to see my car anytime soon and I had to leave it with him despite me having an appointment because some cars already on the lifts are taking longer. I can understand how that can potentially be an issue if reservations are poorly managed. Luckily, I had some wiggle room that morning, so I asked this rep if it would at least be seen before 1:00 in the afternoon. The service rep agreed and I signed all the paper work and handed him my keys with some hesitation because the rest of my afternoon was on a tight schedule. So before I left, I asked him: Is there any chance that my car will not be seen before 1pm? He replied: No, Ill make sure its done before 1pm and Ill call you when you can come back and pick it up. Feeling rather assured by this reponse, I walked home and after several hours, without a phone call, decided to walk back so that I could arrive on time. I managed to make it back to the shop at 1:15pm and my car was still sitting at the same spot I parked it, and nobody had even any intention of getting to it soon. At this moment, I realized that I wasted several hours of my morning and Firestone had no regard for my time. I was quite displeased with these events because I could tell that different cars were on the lifts from when I left, indicating to me that my car was neglected despite:1) having an appointment2) arriving before the other carsand most importantly, 3) the personal promise that my car would be taken care of in a timely fashion.I expect more from a company I am willing to give my business to. I will not use this Firestone location ever again, and to be honest, I may discontinue my loyalty to Firestone altogether.

Unreasonably slow service. They recommended an oil change after a courtesy check. I didn’t have much time and asked when they would be done. They said they could be done in 25 minutes because the car was already raised on the rack. I said ok because I it fit my schedule. After 40 minutes I needed to go and asked for the status. They said the oil had been drained and it just had to be lowered and filled with oil. They said they were slowed down by new customers who came in after me. I finally got my car back when they were done over 1 hour and 15 minutes after they said 25 minutes.I was late to my destination and never would have said ok to changing the oil at that time if I had known it would take them more than 40 minutes.

Dropped off my car to get an oil change during lunch, provided the assumption that it would be done in that time, I guess thats where it went wont. After waiting an hour all where my car is and they havent even started. They get the stars because there was an already known issue that they let me know about but thanks for waiting an hour for the communication. Great place but not reliable or convient.

I went to this place, Firestone, because my car was running horribly and it happen to be a Saturday so I had to stop at the first place I found open. It was my airflow sensor. Replaced was over $200. I went back to have my motor mounts inspected. Just so happen my starter went out right then. That was $384 to replace. Was told 3 of 6 motor mounts needed to be replaced. Called them app one week later for that price, was then told 4 motor mounts needed replacing....what are they psychic! Howd it go from 3 to 4 since they last looked at the car!?! That price....$1,084.00! Went to Terrys Automotive, I only needed 2 motor mounts and its only a little over $600. My advice is do not go to Firestone unless youre got a lot of money and you dont mind just tossing it out to them!

The people are nice but they dont know what they are doing. I wouldnt trust them with anything more than an oil change. They never follow appointment times either so if you make an appointment they will still take an hour just to pull the car in!

This place is a RIP off! They charged me for a brakes and services that I just had done. Then they charged me for a broken part. Which the part was not broken prior to my arrival. Then the front desk ppl went through personal paperwork I mistakenly left in the vehicle. And, they discussed the information in the lobby. While, I was sitting there. Unprofessional, overcharging, and braking parts to increase service costs! And, they put a nail in my tire. Advised they dont plug tires. I would have to get a new! REALLY!

DO NOT COME HERE - SAVE YOURSELF SCAMMERS and DISHONEST - will hurt your vehicle to get extra money from you. They charge females for frivolous work. They are rude, and I have only been here a few times and I am never, never, EVER coming back. I am going somewhere else...FOR EXAMPLE, My wife brought in her car for an oil change, then the check engine light comes on just after leaving there. Later, the oil starts leaking out onto our driveway. Brought it in to find out Firestone hadnt put the oil filter OR the plug on the oil pan all the way tight.

The worse service I could ever ask for. They didnt put a seat cover on when they were driving my car. And I watch them do it to 4 other people cars too. They left my car on the whole time it was getting serviced. Its a hybrid, they had the battery to the lowest level it could go. when I got In my car the seat felt like it was wet from sweat or water. they lied to me about leaving my car on. I will never take my car back here again.

Beware this place will sabatoge you car.cant follow specific instructions unprofessional workers dont stay on task they are to busy on their smart phones, say they are honest mechanics but try to take advantage of women. Cause leaks in your cooling systems, spray fluids all over your engine to make it look like you have problems, and call it a courtesy check There are allot of other places near by that may be better.

From my experience in reading these reviews a few things come into play with the negative or low starred reviews, people forgetting this is a business and people believing they are mechanics. I have had lots of work done here and never have they recommended a service that didnt need done. As far as pricing goes, if you want an item at Walmart price, get it yourself, take your car apart and install it yourself. Simple. This is a business with TONS of overhead expenses, for the convenience of guaranteeing the correct part, without you having to shop at multiple places, there is a markup, and thats business. As far as customer service goes, these are (usually) men who are mechanics, in the shop and in the office, they are going to be blunt and straight to the point (if your a married woman, when has your husband been anything other than that :D ).I would recommend their service skills above other places I have gone.I would recommend their customer service above any other shop Ive been to.AndId rate their pricing average to market value, but will mention Firestone is MUCH more likely to offer a discount to inspire loyalty than any other shop in the area.

We were having car problems driving in from New Orleans and had two hours to go. We stopp d in at Firestone at Archer Road and two of the workers in charge told us they were busy and did not have time to even look at the car and would have to leave car overnight and get a hotel. I asked if we could have first morning appointment and one guy told us there were none and we would have to come first come first serve though they were booked. I asked if there were any other places to assist us with tire issues and he gave us Tire Plus which is also owned by Firestone. We headed less than a mile down the road on bad tires and found Pep Boys who were open till 8pm and had our car on the rack within 20 minutes.WE will NEVER EVER do business with this company or any of its affiliates. These guys had ZERO concern about our well being or finances. This is a game weekend and hotels prices are through the roof. I am also with a 75 year old disabled person with respiratory failure.Never again!Love u Pep Poys!!

My wife and I took both our vehicles in for oil changes and to shop tires and diagnose a front end noise in my truck. Nathan helped us get good rates on tires for both our vehicles. He knocked thirty dollars off the price of her alignment and didnt try to sell me one I didnt need for my truck. I called four or five other shops to see if they could beat his quote on mud tires and only one shop said they would match it but not beat it. I was fearing bad news for my engine diagnosis and it ended up being relatively cheap and inexpensive fix Its hard to find a good shop you feel you can trust but I never felt like Nathan was trying to get one over on me or upcharge me or sell me something I didnt need. I actually brought a quart of Oil additive and asked for them to add it to my oil change. They forgot, but when I went back for the tires, Nathan saw it on the seat and drained some oil out so they could add it and I didnt even have to ask. Ask for Nathan, hell treat you right.
