I reserved a van online on 10/13/2021 to be picked up on 11/1/2021. On 11/1, I called a couple hours before my scheduled time to see if I could pick it up early. They told me sorry, we dont have any vans because Amazon is renting it....Well I reserved it a couple of weeks ago. When are you planning to tell me about this? She said she was searching other locations, but couldnt find anything. So now I am stuck finding something else at the last minute. I had to settle for an Avis rental at three times the amount of money. Sorry, I am not Amazon, but you should have told me sooner that you wouldnt have the van. Maybe Amazon will leave you a five star rating, but I am definitely not leaving you a positive review. Then I tried to leave a review on the actual website for the Roper Mountain location, but their system said I cancelled the transaction so I cant leave a review!!! Dont rent from Roper Mountain. They dont guarantee your rental.

Dont take return vehicles, falsely reserve space, good luck if you are moving long haul and several have some bad attitudes. No perimeter security. Anyone can walk up an in to exterior units.

Jeff Burnett was very accommodating and helpful. I needed to upgrade my vehicle and he was able to do it quick and on the fly and was very pleasant too. Thanks guys, it really made my day better. When I dropped it back off they let me relax and chill in the air conditioned office while I wasted for my ride.

Made the move very easy and straightforward. Great service and great value! It cost less than $50 for a van including insurance!Definitely recommend!

Do not rent a truck from this location! Ive never had such an awful truck rental experience. The employees and Management do not review the rental policy, disclose any policies on late fees, or even give proper return instructions. I returned the truck ON TIME, yet I am still being charged a late penalty! When I contacted the manager, he pretty much told me too bad. I will definitely be in touch with BBB. Do yourself a favor and rent from another location!!! THEY WILL nickel and Dime you!

Wednesday my husband and I submitted a reservation for a 15 foot truck at this location for our move today (Friday). This morning after I dropped my husband off to pick up the truck, I got a call saying I needed to come back because he was at the wrong location. I checked my phone to look at our reservation, and it CLEARLY says 24 Roper Mountain Rd. I explained to my husband that there must be some sort of misunderstanding to which he replied “No, the guy says he doesn’t have any 15 foot trucks here so we have to go to Pelham.” At this point I’m highly annoyed because we are already overwhelmed with everything that has to be done today, and now I’m having to go all the way back, to then have to drive somewhere else. Once my husband got back in the car with me I asked him if the man apologized for the inconvenience, and he said no. This is unacceptable. There was enough time for someone to inform us that they didn’t have the truck we reserved, and it makes no sense that nobody acted the least bit concerned with the situation. I don’t know about you, but I call that terrible customer service.

I’ve rented from uhaul for years and never had such horrible experience. I rented a truck for 24 hours, I returned it way BEFORE time limit, and they charged me a late fee plus an additional day. I’ve called the manager there and he just told me basically “oh well that’s not what the contract said initially”. I called HR and even they said they were screwing me .If you wish to rent for uhaul go ahead just make sure it’s not at this location. Employees and management were both unhelpful.

This place was amazing. Hawkins did a fantastic job. I would recommend this place over any other storage facility in the area. Even their non-climate controlled storage has heat in it and is indoor, so its technically climate controlled.

I made a reservation for a truck online reserved it for 24hours the next day at 8am they where calling me telling when I was going to return the truck I told them at the same time I rented I had done the reservation online they told me the manager wouldnt let me reserve it for 24hours which he didnt tell me if not I wouldnt had rented it. The charged me more without my authorization so I had to call customer ser vice which the lady told me this morning they had changed my reservation the following morning to 8am I guess the manager wasnt happy cause I wouldnt rent they storage which when he asked me I told him its to expensive I can get a bigger storage unit with extra storage for much less. I am disputing these charges also will contact BBB.

Do not answer phones but instead use a call center so you cannot speak to the actual staff, also only rent small trailers (not trucks, medium or large trailers). Cannot see the benefit to potential renters as compared to any non-corporate uhaul as rental of small trailers is the bare minimum. I do see that owners are trying to “brand” their temporary storage facilities. Also, impossibly to get into due to traffic, which may explain the branding. Do yourself a favor, go to the Wade Hampton location.

I rented from them because budget was super busy with only one person working. What a mistake. 40 cents more a mile . The employee highlighted everything she said was important. I returned my truck clean and with more gas then when I took it. Put keys in drop box like I told her I would be doing because Im starting a new job. They charged me an extra 20 for returning this way. I called to speak to a manager and jeff burnett answered. Rudest man in the world told me he dont care, its on the contract. I told him she didnt mention it while I was signing. He said oh well im paying it and hung up on me. I will NEVER DEAL WITH UHUAL AGAIN. RUDE SCAM. AND ESPECIALLY WHEN THE WORLD IS IN CRISIS AND MOST PEOPLE DONT HAVE JOBS. WHAT A TERRIBLE WAY TO DO BUSINESS.

These people are crooks. The manager is a out right thief. He puts locks and keeps locks on units regardless of payment and blames his employees. Horrible customer service. Even tried to charge me more for my truck than I was quoted. Adding fees that was not previously disclosed. All around bad experience. Like a nightmare that wont end.

Its a nice secure place and the people who work here are polite and efficient. Navigating in and out is difficult. The driveway is narrow and it can be hard.to find a place to park and unload.

Nice facility & staff...My only issue is being ng unable to reach customer service via telephone. I was on hold for almost 30 mins

Vehicles say they are non smoking however they are not. Waited ~45min for service.

I will be using them again the place was clean and the staff was very nice and friendly Tischara, Bobbi and Holly helped me with all the questions I hade even went as far as to make a few phone calls for me to get me exactly what I needed they even offered me my first month free in storage an I will be coming back to get it ... thanks for all your help you will be seeing me again very soon

Went in and got the truck I had reserved. Check-in was fast, and everything was clearly described as to what the charges are, and what the potential charges could be. Plenty of room to drive in and out. Roper Mtn Rd is busy, so be aware that turning left out of there could be rough.

Great service. They said you had to buy insurance in SC by law. Not sure if true but if so it was great.

Good luck with traffic and picking up a reservation if someone else walks in before you and u are 30 mins early

Place is too small and not very accommodating... should not be renting trucks. You cant drop them back off after hours and they only have the smallest uhauls.Oh, and they make you move and park next door at the waffle house.

If i could give them zero stars i would. They have cancelled auctions 30 minutes or less before the end of the auction. Than they give you contradictory explanations that you can tell are lies. They are shady and untrustworthy.

Super tight squeeze. Hard to get in and out of. Every time im there im blocking someone and have to move multiple times.

They employ deceptive billing practices. When you rent a truck online, it gives you the option to decline the insurance. When you arrive you are given an estimate to sign based on your mileage. The insurance that you decline is abbreviated CDW. No one tells you what that means or that you HAVE to have it regardless of the reservation that you made--until it is too late. If they had told me this before I took the truck out then I would have complained to U-Haul for not informing me that I had no option to decline. I would have taken my services elsewhere.While I was in there, there was another man with a complaint and we were both treated poorly by Bobbi. The young man that was the clerk was a nice kid but the blond lady in the picture above is hell on wheels. She does not care who she screws over. If you disagree with her she threatens to kick you out. That lady should be managing a trailer park, not a storage facility. (My apologies to trailer park managers.)

The rental period was cut down to 9 hrs from 24 hrs. I rushed to return the vehicle. The representative of uhaul said, either take it for 9 hrs or forego the reservation. That was rash.

Rude as ever, worst place ever! Steer away from this uhaul. They have barley any trucks and the older women that works there is beyond rude. We go thru uhaul very often, wade Hampton is where you want to go! They have GREAT STAFF

Lisa Worthey makes Uhaul worth it. I even followed her to this store from her last. You want to be taken care of them you just need ask for Lisa!
