This is a wonderful company that provides a level of customer service that is outstanding. They are old school -- they know they customers, and go the extra mile each and every time. Every interaction Ive had with them has been courteous, professional and helpful. The technicians that come to your home to make repairs are well trained, smart and efficient. There has never been a time when I needed emergency help that I had to wait very long, no matter what time of day or night. The other day I requested a last minute oil delivery, and in spite of an impending winter storm they came first thing in the morning and took care of it. Amazing!When you have technical questions, or want to price a new product, they are informative, thoughtful and patient -- they dont just sell you they try and educate you so you gain a much deeper understanding of what is being discussed. Seriously, THE BEST.

I woke up on 4.10.20 to realize my house was super cold. Even though CT is on lockdown, and its Good Friday, and J.J. was closed, the call center gave my information to Mike, who called me back in a matter of minutes, and came by the house just over an hour later. He was so friendly and wore a mask and gloves and quickly found the problem. Now my house is warming up nicely! I really appreciated the professional service and expedited response. Thank you!

I switched back to JJ Sullivan for my oil and propane because I was previously with a client who provided those services. It was the best decision I could’ve made. They are friendly and helpful especially JP.We had to have two service calls two and three days before our annual heating service and although they could’ve easily charged me for both they didn’t charge me for either. The second call was urgent an resulted in JP coming 930 at night to educate me that our furnace was not broken but rather it worked a certain way because it was linked to the hot water tank. He could not have been nicer and took his time to explain the whole process to me. We are thankful for such a wonderful local oil and propane company.

Late afternoon on the day before vacation, I discovered that there was water in the basement coming from my central a/c. In a bit of a panic, I called Sullivan to say that I had water in my basement, leaking from the a/c. Before I could even ask, the young woman (Tara I think) said they would send somebody out immediately and they would be at my home within the hour.The technician showed up quickly, found the problem (a clogged PVC trap), unclogged the pipe, replaced the trap and was on his way all within about an hour. Total cost of labor and parts for this emergency repair visit was $31.I have used Sullivan for my heating oil, propane and furnace/air conditioning needs for 16 years. They are responsive, responsible and efficient, with knowledgeable technicians and fair prices. Very pleased to be a customer of this company and have no plans to ever change as long as I live in this area.

I never had oil before. I just bought a (new to me) house in Guilford with oil heat. Called the company that installed the furnace for service and they were down right rude to me. Called JJ Sullivan and have had the BEST experience. Each person has been kind, thoughtful, answered all of my questions. I’m a new customer for life.

I have been a customer of J.J. Sullivans for five years, and I couldnt be happier with my decision to stick with them. I recently decided to switch over to propane, and the people at Sullivans have been more than helpful. They have made the transition from oil to propane the easiest thing in the world. I plan on sticking with this company, and I recommend them to everyone!

JJ Sullivan does not value service!I was a customer for 16 years, I had always called for them oil delivery. My oil tank was almost empty on a Sunday. So I call their emergency service to get 100 gallons of oil. On the phone, the Tech told me to wait until Monday and I wouldnt be charged the emergency service fee. On Monday, I happened to be near JJ Sullivans office, so I stopped in to see if the Tech had placed me down for an oil delivery and to request my oil tank be filled to full. He had however, I was told they could not guarantee my order for 48 hours and I would only get 100 gallons of oil, per their policy for an emergency oil service. At the office, I informed JJ Sullivans owner that my tank was on Empty and needed oil that day, but I was informed again of their policy. So I decided to call another oil provider and have my tank filled. As a courtesy, I went back to JJ Sullivans office and informed them that I did not need oil from them that day as I was having another provider fill my tank. That was my mistake. I was told that if I had another oil provider fill my tank it would void my contract with JJ Sullivan. I had no choice but to cancel my service as it was 6 degrees Fahrenheit that morning and my tank was almost empty. I would have expected that a customer who personally visits an office and extends courtesy would have been treated better and had their needs met. That was not the case.In conclusion, unless you sign up for automatic delivery, you are nobody to JJ Sullivan.

We had a problem with our furnace. Mr. Sullivan was here in 10 minutes. Problem solved. Never saw service like this before!!

My family has been customers Of JJ Sullivan & Co for over 20 years. We have always found them to be very helpful & knowledgeable over the years.Just recently, we had replaced our old heating & air conditioning thermostats to Wi-Fi thermostats. We had called JJ Sullivan in January of 2016 with a problem with our furnace. (Furnace had been replaced by JJ Sullivan a few years back). We had no power to the furnace. JP from the company came out to take a look at the problem & quickly resolved the issue. While JP was at the house, We had asked him if he could wire up our heating & air conditioning wi-fi thermostats for us. He gladly agreed to take care of this for us. Now that the summer is upon us, it was time to turn on our a/c unit. To our surprise, we were experiencing a problem with the a/c. It would not turn on. We placed a call to JJ Sullivan who came out & informed us that the wires on our a/c thermostat were connected incorrectly. We informed the service tech that this thermostat was wired up by JP. Thermostat was wired correctly by service tech. To our surprise, we received a bill for this service call from JJ Sullivan for $119.00. (A service call that was needed due to the error of JP). Upon receiving the bill, we contacted JJ Sullivan & spoke with JP who denied ever connecting the thermostat. I explained that I was right there watching him connect the thermostat. JP again denied this. As a result of this & the fact that JP felt we were calling him a liar & he let his pride get in the way of business. Since JP felt he was right & was not going to admit fault due to personal pride, we are stuck with a $119.00 bill for a service call that was not needed if the job had been done correctly from the beginning. JJ Sullivan refuses to waive this fee. This is how the company treats a long time dedicated customer of 20 years. We will be looking into changing companies for all of our oil needs & servicing. If you are in the market for an oil company, think twice before dealing with JJ Sullivan
