Had a wonderful experience! The design of the diner is spectacular at sunset. Neon, “chrome”, and glass blocks, ’nuf said! Everyone was very friendly, even though busy on Saturday night. I enjoyed a perfect Cajun burger, perfectly cooked to my specifications. I concluded the meal with a delicious dessert, Baklava Cheesecake and coffee. I would definitely return!
What a fantastic place! The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive. And the food was phenomenal. We were there for breakfast and we both got the Capitol special. Everything was delicious! And the prices are very reasonable.
The start of our patronage was not ideal we were placed into a 2-seater style half booth. Asked to be seated in a regular booth. Asked for coffee.. it was provided but my significant other received a full cup but I only received a half cup and the waitress took forever to come back to our table/provide refill....my pancakes were cold and not good...was not satisfied with the bacon, was less thn presentable....service overall was less thn desirable.....very disappointing 🙄🙁🙁
Met my brother for a late breakfast at the diner. We sat at the counter which was nice while watching ESPN College GameDay. The service was efficient and friendly; the food came out in fair time. Capitol Diner was busy and there were a number of persons waiting for tables indoors and outdoors. I would come back again
My family and I came here on a road trip in a hurry. Our waitress, Brenda (thanks!), got us all of our orders very quickly. Definitely will be coming back when were in the area! Thankyou, Brenda!

Capitol Diner has a hugh menu. I got a Senior Meal. There was a lot of meat and filling and a large salad and mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was tasty, but mine wasnt very hot.

Little GEM of a place in Harrisburg!! This where I decided to have my LAST Meal until next year because of Governor Wolf closing indoor dinning for 3 weeks ! Pancakes were awesome and my waiter superb! Totally recommend it ! Good food and coffee! Clean place and cozy atmosphere 😍 THEY WILL BE TAKING TAKE OUT ORDERS though so feel free to do it !!
If you are looking for a friendly environment, this is NOT your go to spot!I have been a host at this restaurant for only 3 weeks and had no choice but to quit. The male manager has no respect for his customers and employees. I’ve witnessed simple situations being handled terribly while working here. Instead of making customers feel a sense of belonging, he pushes them away and makes them feel rushed to leave. If there is an issue with your food or service, he will become defensive and ignorant. Today before work, I attended a funeral for someone very close and have still been grieving. When I told him about my situation, he gave me a simple non-empathetic “sorry” and walked away. Then decided to disturb me while I was assisting multiple customers and made it seem like I don’t know what I’m doing. A server did an unethical action while we were closing the restaurant. When I attempted to report it to the manager, he made me feel like I was the one doing something wrong. He then began to use a rude and aggressive tone, which became very frustrating.Long story short, if you want quality service, quality food, and great management…DON’T COME HERE!
I was visiting from Ohio and decided to try Capitol Diner since it was close to the hotel and Im glad I did. I had the steak dinner and the steak was cooked perfectly. It was one of the best steaks Ive had. It had lots of flavor and was very juicy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely go there again next time Im in the area.
Standard greasy spoon and all the trappings that typically come with it. Surprisingly quick to seat, despite how busy the Sunday brunch crowd was that morning. Our servers were super prompt and polite, even with how busy it was in there. Definitely worth a stop when your exploring Pennsyltucky.
We stopped on a bus trip. It was around 6pm. They got us seated. A hostess brought us water. And they gave us ONE waiter!!! But I was very impressed! He took our orders was cheerful and we got our food quite quickly! Enjoyable experience! Lovely place.
I was really disappointed with my experience here. I’ve always gone past this place and decided to go. It was a mistake. Our food was so bland. Everything was much more expensive than the quality that it delivered. I could go to Waffle House and have better food for a cheaper price. I like to take pictures of my food when I go out but I didn’t even bother for this restaurant. The service was not great either, I think they are understaffed. Our waitress was doing the best she could but I could tell she was a bit overwhelmed. I don’t think I would come back here again.
My mashed potatoes were cold.There was excessive fat on my pork.Sauerkraut was cold and it tasted like you put sugar in it.Great for a diabetic! I asked for roll and butter.Never got it til almost when I was done eating and they tasted like flour.They were warm but the butter was hard and did not melt even on a warm roll.I believe the carrots also had sugar in them.So I had to ask twice for my ice cream.When I finally got it,it was old cause you could taste it.It was full of ice junks.It was melted real bad.I have worked in the food business for over 20 years and am very knowledgeable about food.I was referred to your diner by members of the Hershey medical center.So disappointed.

Never again. Capitol Diner was always a go-to spot. After this morning, they will never get my business again. Not only did we wait over 30 minutes for our breakfast food to arrive but there was hair in the food. Not one but both plates on one order had a long hair. When the first was noticed, that plate was taken back to redo, after the second plate, everyone lost their appetite. They removed that meal from the bill. Shouldve took care of the entire bill. When I tried speaking to the manager, he barely acknowledged me and then had the nerve to make me feel like he was trying to accuse me of the long hair. My hair was pulled so tight to my head, I got a headache. You sir, care nothing of your customers and I will never recommend you ever again.
Decent food and drinks. Not the most sanitary, they have a fly problem. Waiter wasnt the most professional. She kept reaching over the people at my table. Kid friendly. Senior friendly. Wheel chair accessible.

Clean place, quick & pleasant service and our food came out fast, fresh, cooked properly & to our request. Everything tasted good.A bit pricey though. For 3 of us, the total was $61. Two iced teas (no sweet tea, unless you add sweetener from the table), a coffee, mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, a club sandwich, burger (with fries) and a buffalo chicken salad.Just as an FYI - they are a Pepsi-Cola place; no Coca-cola for you here. They took credit cards, so youre ok there.Overall though, a good experience. Id go back.
This was the first I had been there in a while. It was nice to see some updates made to the inside of the restaurant. Food was good and the server was kind and attentive.
This was the second time visiting in five years. Looks like they made some interior updates and the place was clean. Food is good but certainly only diner qualit. The portions are large and price is in keeping with other local casual restaurants. Service was good even arriving near closing time. Will visit again when back in the area.

In the area for vacation so needed a place for breakfast. Their breakfast menu is extensive and so far weve all had really good meals. If you like biscuits and sausage gravy, give theirs a try because its excellent!
Food was good, but service was very slow. Its obvious they are training some new people but 2 hours for eating at a diner is abit much. There Greek salad was excellent, but seeing beef or chicken for a gyro left me in shock. If I was in the area I might go again.
Had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners there this week on our trip. Great service, great food and very clean place. Will definitely eat there again next time in town.
Food was good! Our waitress was amazing, but I cant remember her name. The guy at the front of the house at the register, though, was very rude to other customers, not to us specifically, but the conversations I overheard in front of us were so rude.
Normally we have a pretty good experience here today was bad though. We ordered online for takeout and upon arriving I was told half of my order was ready and the other half would be ready soon. I was handed a bag that was not mine at all, and then told to continue to wait. The manager was rather short with me, trying to explain away the fact that I was handed the wrong food. Im also not exactly thrilled with the food. My scrambled eggs are flat mess. Bland and depressing.
I got the Bourbon pork chops, they were very good. Good bourbon flavor with a smokey taste as well. Service was great. Well worth the money
The owner had to serve us since employees are hard to come by these days. He was excellent!!! LOL 😆I believe I left him a tip as well.Food was perfect. Loved the Blueberry pancakes 🥞😋. Real fresh blueberries and lots of them.We will be back soon.

Terrible manager. Belittles employees and customers instead of catering to them with empathy. Food is outstanding and servers are friendly. Great quick stop, but be prepared to be overwhelmed when checking in and out.
Absolutely horrible diner in my opinion.I went here after realized the Marriott hotel had no breakfast due to COVID. My host there recommend this diner to me.After looking at the building from the outside, I figured I would give it a shot.After waiting some 15 minutes, I ordered the Dutch omelette with home fries. When the food arrived, it looked like someone threw eggs and raw potatoes onto a plate. It was a really bad experience.After continuing to visit the rest of the Hershey area, I felt a sick feeling in my stomach. I threw up what seemed to be the home fries.Was very unimpressed with the food there and the experience.

Breakfast was delicious. Ate the Capitol Diner Special - 2 eggs, 2 pancakes or french toast, home fries and choice of ham, sausage or bacon. You will not leave hungry. It looks very busy sometimes on the outside but my wait time was only 15 minutes. Wait staff is very personable. Prices are reasonable. Great place to eat anytime of day.
Although very busy, service and food excellent...this is a well-run, updated and clean diner.. One of the best in our area. Very convenient for road travelers and Harrisburg airport.

The food was excellent along with good service. We ate here for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed everything and you will never leave hungry. So good we plan on eating here again when we visit again.

Went twice first time for breakfast and the food was luke warm to cold. Gave the another shot for dinner and the food was cold had to send everything back. When they brought it back it was barely warm. Will not waste my money a third time!

The Steaks and burgers are really great and big. Broccoli is a bit softer for those who like a crunch in their vegetables. Coleslaw is a must have.

I had a Cobb Salad add Salmon it was delicious. My wife had fried Haddock and could not finish 2 huge pieces of fish.
Staff was very friendly and the food was great. We got there later in the evening but the staff took great care of us.
Food was good, portions are generous, and the price was reasonable. Thought my omelet was a little dry for my taste but my son had the exact same style omelet and according to him, it was the best ever.

Always great breakfast here--omelettes and home fries are excellent and portion size is huge. The place has some beautiful decor (the lobby chandelier is a work of art) and is very clean. I have been coming here for decades now and I have never had anything but a good experience here in both food and service. Also, there is plenty of parking. Definitely one of the very best diners in the area.

Excellent diner, great food, everything is fresh and the oldies music adds that special touch. Love this place and I highly recommend it. The clam chowder and gyros are out of this world.

Bum diner closes at 10pm. What diner closes so early esp. One right next to all hotels where tourists are staying during the summer for hershey and whatnot? I dont know I come from NY Id figure in Idaho they may close diners at 10pm but not pennsylvania

Ive eaten there a few times before over the yeas and have never been overly impressed with the quality of the food or the service. Ive gone back from time to time just to see if things have gotten any better....but they never do. I just tried to place a to-go order over the phone. The person who answered told me that they absolutely do not take orders over the phone and that to-go orders MUST be placed on their website....then HUNG UP on me. Rude, rude...RUDE. I will of course never be patronizing this place again.
This is the worse place I ever been. We were a total of 12 including 4 adults and 6 children. As we were placing the kid’s drinks orders the waitress is an older lady and was extremely annoyed and rude to us. She made multiple comments about our orders. We then ignored and proceeded to order our foods. She comes back with the wrong drinks . We tried to make let understanding and her answer was “ it just a drink let’s not waste time over it and keep ordering your food!” . Again we ignored her comments. In the process of ordering she became very rude belligérants and aggressive because we made couple changes on the kids orders . We decided to leave. On our way out, the owner came to talk to us. We explained the occurrences and is response was “ it has been a long day and we are all tired, I’m sorry you can leave “. Just like that… it turned into an argument, next thing police was called …. This is how they handle their customers complaint. Very poor management and customer service skills. I wanted to give a negative start if there was one. Just in the process of ordering kids food…… I will never recommend this place and willl never drive by again.
Good atmosphere, nice staff, and a broad menu. Mom and I went to get some eats, and thoroughly enjoyed what we got.
Ive been here since the beginning when there was a smoking area. This was a great hang out when I was in high school. Glad they are always busy but sometimes the service and food takes forever (40 mins+). Weekends, I always set aside 2 hours. I go there for the Capital special, home fries with add onions, over medium eggs, and scrapple. I give my daughters the pancake.
