Purchased new sprinkler pump and installed by owner. Several months later I call and ask them to come look at the rust that has accumulated around top and lower seals and charged me $85 for a warranty call and told me that is not his problem and that it has a leak and wouldnt repair or warranty the pump. He wouldnt return my calls and confronted him when working at the neighbors home and was very rude. Stay away from this company.
I stopped by CW shop asking for advice (not requesting a service call) on a pool vacuum cleaner they sold thats still under warranty (after spending almost $800 on the vacuum and service just few weeks earlier). Debbie looked up the purchase & service invoice and verified it’s still under warranty and said her husband Richard “just happened” to be in the neighborhood later so he won’t mind to drop by to look at it (which he did).As it turned out, the water level was low so the pump was losing suction. He called me and said the vacuum cleaner worked fine but the water was low so he turn the water on and the service call was $85. I relayed my conversation with his wife. His response to me was “I thought you might appreciate my work and potentially saving you from having an overheat pump”.I wish they were up front that it’s going to be a service call.... Its not the $85...It’s the principle. After reading several reviews, it appears my experience is not the first. I will not use them again and would not recommend friends, families or neighbors. If you do, be sure to get an estimate upfront in writing.Chief T.
I had a great experience getting my irrigation pump replaced. The one I had seized after rusting out from poorly adjusted sprinklers and exposure to the elements over time. C&W replaced the old pump, added in a new priming valve, and installed a cover to protect the motor. The work was done quickly, pricing was reasonable, and he couldnt have been more courteous throughout the whole process. Highly recommended!
Very exorbitant prices for the services rendered, especially for simple service calls where no work is performed. I highly recommend going through someone else. Its worth finding someone on mainland. He charged alot for the pump, alot for installation and when it stopped working one month later, he charged an outrageous fee to correct a problem that shouldnt have happened had it been done right the first time. He should have fixed it for free since I already paid him once..I didnt even get an apology. His estimate over the phone wasnt anywhere near what it ended up being and he did not ask for permission to perform work that was never mentioned or discussed at any point. Very bad buisness.
You need it either Richard has it (in the back somewhere) or gets it for you. Great asset
I had a great experience with this company. Richard came out same day and within hours of my call replaced my irrigation pump. I feel that I was well taken care of by an honest, reputable local business. Very fair prices for the services received as well. Highly recommend!
I called on sat to request service on my pool pump motor they scheduled me for Monday. They arrived per the schedule saw what was wrong removed the motor and replaced it with a new one. They made the adjustments pump works fine. They were timely work was neat I recommend them to do all my pool work from now on. Thanks for your service C&W
Worst experience. Do not recommend. Had CW install a pool pump in June 2016 and paid $543. By October the motor failed. Called them for warranty work and they charged me for labor and some parts $117. I did not think it was right that they would charge for a failure so close to the install - but paid them anyway. The repair only lasted a few months again as at the end of January 2017 the motor was going out again. Once again, I was told I would be charged again for labor and some parts - another $117! Really, at some point, we as customers are relying on their professional advice on equipment and if equipment is continuously failing, they as such, should stop installing this kind of pump and stand behind their work. It is easy to simply pass the bill to the consumer.Last thing, when I told them I would pay them again but that this time I would write a review and call the manufacturer of this pool pump, the lady became agitated and kept telling me to calm down ( I was just stating my case and telling them I did not feel this was a good way to treat their customers and felt within my rights to let people know - which I did so calmly and matter-of-fact - she just didn’t like what she was hearing). She hung up on me. Very puzzling. I am a professional and do not hang up on people and don’t expect to be hung up on, simply because it’s a difficult discussion. Will never use them again.
We recently bought a home in Indian Harbour Beach and found C&W Pump, Pool and Motors soon after moving in. Richard helped us learn how to manage the pool chemicals and when we decided to convert to salt water, installed the kit at a very reasonable price (consistent with what I had found in researching cost). We then decided to install a heat pump for the pool to extend our swimming season and I asked for an opinion on our pool pump and pool vacuum pump (both of which were rusted and, I assumed, ready to be replaced). Richard gave me all the information I needed to make a decision without selling me. The old pumps were very energy inefficient and we had them replaced with a much more efficient system. Richard was great at every step of the way. We recommend C&W to all our friends.
Bought a pool pump from C&W a while ago but recently noticed it was straining. C&W helped to verify it was a warrantied problem and replaced it with a new pump the same day. Outstanding and quick customer service earns 5 stars from this happy customer.
You guys where great got right out to help with my lawn pump and saved my grass from dead. thanks again. the lee family satellite beach
C&W pump has been our go-to place for our pool and sprinkler systems since moving to the area 2 years ago. Whether for a purchase of a new salt system/pump/filter (2 homes), hot tub, or sprinkler pump and controller, or just answering questions I have over the phone, they are always friendly, helpful, and professional. They fit the right products to your need and their prices are very reasonable; installation is always top notch, too. There is absolutely no one else wed ever trust our pool, hot tub, or sprinkler system to!
Had to replace a shallow well sprinkler pump. Good prices (slightly lower than on-line with no shipping). Gave sound advice on not only how to install pump (not difficult) but also how to make it easier (that was excellent). Advice worked well and all done. I would go back.
Great work, fair prices, and great tips! My pool looks great and my power bill is lower. I followed the suggestion they gave of keeping the pump covered and I really think this has helped keep it working.
They fixed my problem.. but recommended completely replacing the pump, rather than repairing my current pump. I already had a Variable-speed pump that was only a few year old, so in hindsight, I think they should have given me the option to just repair what I had... They also indicated that they would help me with my Insurance claim, but when I emailed them afterwards... got no response.....wonderful customer support. Ill definitely shop around before using them in the future.
I appreciate the great service that I received from C&W Pump. I contacted Debbie and we were able to trouble shoot the problem over the phone, order the replacement pump for my spa, and have her son Richard come out and install it in a very timely manner. It is great to deal with a family owned company that still operates on the old fashioned principles of professionalism, honesty, timeliness, value and cares about their customers. Thank you!
Richard has been helping me with my pool for years now. We recently had him automate our pool system and we love it. Not only does it control everything but we can control it from anywhere. Thanks C&W Pump!
Was charged $125 service call and was told that they couldnt repair my pool heater that they installed. Dont do business with them
Richard was awesome, professional and detail oriented! He found the perfect solution for the type of new pump we needed, installed in a timely manner, and followed up with us to insure we were happy with the final result!
Great deals on amazing hot tubs and supplies!
My single-speed pump died and I wanted to replace it with a variable speed pump. However, I was told by several different vendors (including the manufacturer) that a VSP would not work with my automated system. I called C&W Pump and explained my situation to Richard. He is an authorized rep for the manufacturer of my system and he clearly explained to me how a VSP would work. I am so pleased to say he was right! We scheduled a date for the install and it was immediately obvious that Richard knew his stuff. He patiently answered my questions even though I was interrupting his work, and then upon completion, he thoroughly explained everything to me.I am very thankful that I found C&W Pump, Pool & Motors and I believe I have a pool service company that I can truly trust.
Richard and Debbie provided outstanding products and services. I had an untimely pump failure and then found my filter was improperly sized. Richard quickly installed the new equipment and has helped me tweak in the pool chemical levels since I also changed to a salt system. I shopped around and the installation charges were cheaper then most. They have been extremely responsive and helpful. Shop local and buy local!
Called C&W pump for a leaking sprinkler system. Talked to Debbie on the phone. I was on the schedule first thing in the morning. Debbie was very helpful and had some insight on the possible problem. Met with Richard in the morning and he had everything fixed within an hour. Afterwards, Richard explained how the system worked, and what to do for future maintenance to save money. Excellent over all. Thanks
Very happy with the service! If I had a question they were happy to help over the phone. They even offered to come to my home. I feel secure with their buisness ethic.
Richard came out today to replace my failing motor. He and Debbie were both great working with me and explaining what was needed and options available. He was here within 24 hours of first contact to get my pool up and running again. Great job!
We feel so fortunate to have connected with C&W pump and especially Richard in the resolution of our pool pump failure. He went over and above to work with the manufacturer to get our failed parts replaced and even called his local distributor to get the needed parts in advance of receipt from the manufacturer. He did everything in his power to make our pool system whole again. Thanks RichardFrom Linda & Dave in Cocoa Beach
I thought we needed a new $500.00 pump. After the tech looked over the system he informed me I had installed too many sprinkler heads causing a loss of pressure. He fixed everything for less than $175.00. They are a great company. I will be also buying a hot tub from them next year. They are very honest and kind
I recently wanted a new pool system that would allow me to handle my pool without a pool service. They suggested a salt system, a variable speed pump and a vacumm. With three items I got a three year warranty on all products. They installed it and balanced my pool. I go there about every three months for water testing. It has been so easy and the salt system makes the water soooo soft. I love it!
I contacted C&W Pump, Pool & Motors & Motors about getting a quote to repair my faulty index valve which had been told to me from a few different lawn services and friends that it would be around $200 to replace. When the tech arrived at my home he took my pump out of my garage and told me he needed to take it to his shop to remove a pipe that he was un able to remove at the home. I was confused of why he was taking the pump if the index valve was being replaced because they are two separate things, but he assured me that it was necessary. I asked for a ballpark price several times and his response each time was under a million dollars. He returned 45 minutes later to put the pump back in and replace the valve, but when he put the new pipe on he cracked the casing around the pump. So he needed to take it back again to the shop to repair. This was on a Monday and he assured me that he would be back the following day(Tuesday). He never showed up on Tuesday. He did show up on Wednesday, a day late, while I was at work. He called to informed me that I owed him $480 for the work that he had done, and that the system was not working and if I wanted it functioning that I would need to pay him an additional $180 to replace the index valve. Which was confusing because that is the part that I originally contacted them to fix. He stated that he had to fix all these other things in order to find out if the index valve was bad or not. Well I already knew it was bad...That is why I asked them to come out. I was instructed to pay him over the phone if I wanted the rest of the work done, which was not acceptable in my opinion because my system was not operational. He came out to finish the job and was very rude and standoffish. So in a nutshell I asked for one service and get several others that I did not ask for and at a premium price. Oh and I forgot to mention that most of the parts that he put in the system were USED! When I asked him to review the pricing of everything with me the tech got very agitated and defensive. Which was surprising considering he was bragging about how long he was in the business, 20+ years according to him. I told him that for the price I was paying I expected to he spoken to in a kind manor, which only seemed to frustrate him further. I was charged $729.53. I would say they made out pretty good for only two hours works. Customers Beware!!!
Ive used these folks twice in the last 4 months...pool pump and sprinkler pump. Both times, the problem was properly diagnosed and repair made to my existing pumps rather than any attempts to sell me a new pump when I didnt need one. Its a family owned and run business. These folks have won my trust and I will go to them first for any future problems I may encounter with either of my home pump driven systems. I highly recommend this company!
Very impressed with the immediate service and professionalism, especially on a holiday weekend. Replaced pump, air working, literally saved me. Thank you!
I had multiple issues with my older pool system. Richards knowledge and experience came to the rescue and resolved all my issues. Now I have a modernized automated pool, virtually worry free, that I can control and monitor from my phone anytime!
Very knowledgeable. Repairs timely and done right the first time. Will use again!
Horrible, I called them in ref to my pool salt generator after Hayward Mfg. advised that they handled warranty and my salt system was still under warranty.. I called on a Mon and someone said Ill receive a call back later that day and on Wed a guy called and said he was going to my house. The guy went out there and I saw him on my surv video and was there for less than 5 minutes. I called him after he left and he advised that my cell was bad and that he had to order one and it would be around 5 days until a new one came in. He advised that the labor was $85. I said for what? It literally is unscrewing 2 pvc nuts and takes about 10 seconds to take cell off. He stated that was his diagnostic fee and labor. I called Pinch a Penney and they advised to bring to the store and they can test in 2 minutes and had replacement in stock. I called C & W back and advised them that Pinch a Penney had new cell in stock and that I was going to them. He told me I still owed him $85. I told him that I was not paying him $85 and he told me that too bad he submitted the claim already and that I could not go anywhere else. He must think I am an idiot and I told him that I am going to Pinch a Penney and he is a ripoff at which time he said . Nice of you to support small business and then hung up on me! So I went to Pinch a Penny and they were nice as can be and replaced my cell after testing it and I was out of there in less than 5 minutes, Yeah nice small business trying to ripoff your local customer base! Do not call them, horrible!!!
I have been using C&W Pump since 1991 I lived in satellite and these folks took care of our pool motors and sprinkler motors with no problems at all . I now live in Melbourne and still use them .. as a matter of fact I need to bring a motor to them for rebuild tomorrow for my poolGood people so far25 years yaa Id say Im satisfied
I used this company yesterday because of the bad and good reviews about them I never go to anyone with all good reviews it is not normal. People will take more time with bad reviews then good ones as I have learned. We used them for our sprinklers which were a mess, the guy was at our house for around two hours (I did not have a stop watch). He replaced a bunch of sprinklers and now everything is working perfectly. He even put in some big ones so that I dont have as many as I did before. Bill was equal to the task which looked pretty messy, glad it was not me!
Buyer Beware. I was quoted $75 for service call/first hour, then $50 an hour after that. The price for sprinkler heads I was told over the phone were $5-$12. When the tech arrived at 10:32 am I explained that we were selling our house and that I needed the sprinklers that were shooting like geysers to be replaced. We turned on the system together and ran all the zones and identified the sprinklers that were a problem. I then went inside and left him to his work. When the hour was almost up I came outside to see if he was finished. He said he was he explained that he had to replace some PVC because of a leak. He also stated that there was one sprinkler still shooting like a geyser. I had 7 minutes left before the hour was up. I told him I was on a tight budget and that I needed to stay within the hour but since the last sprinkler was out of the ground I asked him if he could just screw a new one on. He said sure and I went inside to get my purse. When he came out he handed me an invoice for $273.65!!! I obviously looked shocked and he asked me what was wrong. I looked over the invoice and saw that he had charged to change out 13 sprinklers at $114 and $125 in labor for 2 hours! I told him his price per sprinkler was higher than what the office had quoted me and I asked him how he was charging for 2 hours of labor when he was finished at 11:35 which was only three minutes over. He told me the office had the wrong prices and he had done a lot of work. He then told me there was a surcharge for paying by credit card unless I went in and paid. I called the office and the owner agreed to take off the $50. Before the tech left I asked him to leave the old sprinklers. There were only 8 in the bucket and he threw them out of the bucket at my feet all over the grass. I went in to pay and I was very polite to the owner and I told her I understood his frustration but he had clear instructions from me to only replace certain sprinklers which he didnt follow and I told him to stop at an hour because that was all I could afford. I then told her it was very rude of him to throw the bucket of broken sprinklers all over my lawn at me. She told me how dare I be ungrateful that she took off $50. She told me I should thank her and that I was lying about what happened because her person would never do that. Horrible customer service and huge rip off job.
Called C&W for my pool pump going bad, The owner came out and replaced the motor for a total price of 424.94.5 min after he left i noticed that the pump was leaking, called the office and the son came out promptly to repair, after he reinstalled the seal the pump was now leaking where the PVC goes into the pump . So he had to repair this with some PVC work .He charged me a additional $73.49 stated it was a 2nd job and additional labor. If it was installed properly from the beginning without any leaks i would not have been dissatisfiedBy the way he said he gave me $5 discount on the additional labor, instead of $65 he charged $60.Being a customer for close to 15-20 years no additional labor,2nd service call should have been charged .
C&W owner/Rich installed a new swimming pool pump for us in April 2016, no problems everything working great; 6 months later Sept./Oct. the pump starts to fail due to a seal leak on unit beyond my control yet Im told it was my fault for not calling/notifying C&W earlier to investigate and therefore cannot stand behind their ADVERTISED 1 year warranty on said pump; ?? Really, Im supposed to be a pump expert? Your new swimming pool pump failed within a 6 month period and you have the audacity to berate me and continue to spew that its my fault for not calling sooner? Im told I can pay for a new pump, another $515 or go the rebuild route and fork over $355 which being the cheap skate Im told I am decide to do, 2 hours later upon this pump rebuild it fails and owner comes back to our house, removes the pump in haste and takes with him; im told I should consider purchasing a variable speed pump for another $1,600 to eliminate any future worries and will pay for itself in 12 months due to energy savings and will give me a $50 credit to help defray costs since I just paid $355 for a rebuild that failed in 2 hours, what a joke. Im sure Rich/owner will berate me here publicly in his response to my post but the truth is as many others have stated here that questionable professional business practices are occurring with this company/owner. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!!! BUYER/HOMEOWNER BEWARE. I purchased another rebuilt unit from a pump shop Ive done business with in the past for $215, installed myself in 30 minutes and working perfectly. Side note, FP&L website shows swimming pool operating costs based on hours of pump run per day and in NO way can you save $1500 in one year, its actually WELL over 3 years for recovery. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!!! BUYER/HOMEOWNER BEWARE!!!!! In response to his nasty post; C&W Pump installed a brand new pump 6 months ago; this was his swimming pool pump that failed 6 months later; so yeah, whatever buddy; all of the negative posts are from customers such as myself who had such a wonderful experience; BUYER BEWARE AT ALL COSTS!!
Very happy with the post sales service from C&W. Richard came out and spent well over an hour helping me with my new pool pump and valve settings, and making sure I understood how to operate everything. I appreciate the time and theyve earned my business for my next repair--the irrigation pump.
We had a terrible experience with C and W Pump, Pool and Motors. We will never use them again. We had a technician come out today to service our irrigation system. He was supposed to arrive at 10:30 AM but was running late. I received a phone call at 11 oclock from the technician asking to get access into our gated community. He looked at our irrigation system and pressed a reset button on the back. He was outside working for 15 minutes and told me this is most likely the problem - no guarantee which we were fine with...I messaged my husband and told him what the technician did so far. My husband told me that he has reset the box twice in the past two weeks. That he doubts thats the problem. A wire was disconnected in the back and my husband fixed it but wanted a professional to look at it. When I told the technician my husbands message - he grumbled in a few more minutes Im going to have to charge you $65 for a second hour. I looked at the clock and it was not even 11:30 am yet. I told him that since he arrived late that he should start when he actually arrives on the property and starts service. That we still have 45 minutes. The technician then told me that he was outside working before he rang the doorbell. Im not sure why he felt compelled to lie. 1) he called me to get access to the community and I have the time on my phone. 2) I text message my husband to let him know that a technician was now at our house. 3) my dog barks as soon as someone parks in our driveway. And he showed up a minute after my dog barked.I was not getting good vibes...but we already committed to a service call for $95 - so I proceeded to ask him about just replacing the box that controls our irrigation system. He had brought a replacement box in case it needed to be changed out. I asked him how long he anticipates switching out the box. The technician said he couldnt answer that question. I asked him why not if this was his job (surely you can give someone an estimate on how long a procedure takes if youve advertise thats your job). The technical refused. So I messaged my husband telling him Im not sure if we can trust this company - my husband said to pay with a credit card after calling the company and reporting his unprofessional behavior. I asked the technician to please leave our house now. I told him I was contacting the company and reporting him. We would rather have a different professional come out from the company who was honest.BIG MISTAKE- It is only run by his wife. So when I told her I asked the technician to leave the house for unprofessional conduct she started screaming at me. I told her we had every intention to pay but we were not comfortable with him after lying to us. I told her I already had a check written out but wanted to pay by credit card instead after discussing our concerns. She was not listening when i tried to tell her we still wanted our box installed and to pay the appropriate amount after install. She proceeded to yell, call me inappropriate names and before she hung up on me yelled Im having a lein placed on your house if you dont send me a check!I tried calling a few more times this afternoon to clarify the events but she would hang up on me. I am embarrassed to admit that I even hired this company but I reported my experience to our community website in West Melbourne, the Better Bussisness Bureau, the city of Indian Harbor and the police department. The husband and wife team were so out-of-control angry that I am actually scared they would do something to us - I called the police department, notified them of our situation and they will be surveilancing our house. Behavior like this is not acceptable or tolerated in a professional business. LIES and trying to take money that was not earned - please think twice before calling this company.
Greedy unintelligent, uninterested people. Charged us $85 to do nothing! Didn’t fix the problem and brushed us off to someone else. DO NOT USE THEM.
I had high hopes for this company as I read the reviews and met with one of the workers down at the office on a Saturday who was very friendly and seemed willing to work with me. I ended up buying a cast iron pump from them and had it installed. (Spent around $500) When he left he said it worked properly. I installed a new timer and came back to see the pump spewing water from the top. The person who installed it said that I dead headed the pump with the new timer and would not work on it. I get that if I did something wrong with the timer, im not expecting them to freely fix the pvc but to say they wont work on it anymore seems like pretty poor customer service considering ive run the pump through all the zones and have fixed any problem that could have caused the dead heading in the first place. So I get the fun of replacing it myself when they could have done it in 20 minutes when they came out to see it in the first place with about $5 in parts.
Horrendous experience. My appointment was for 10AM, i asked for them to try to get there as early as possible because i had things to do. I asked for the service person to bring 2 x 8amp 6x30mm time delay fuses and 1x 250mA 6x30mm time delay fuse.At 1024 i phoned C&W Pool, i was informed that he got held up and would be there soon. The shop is 4 minutes from my house per google maps.At 1045 I received a knock on the door. When i asked why he was so late i was informed that my appointment was between 1000-1030. When i asked him why he was 15 minutes late i was met with a blank stare and an apathetic shrug. I asked if he had the fuses in question, he looked more puzzled. I told him that if he didnt have the fuses that i requested he bring, he could not come in, and i was not going to pay him $125.He threw his hands up in the air and told me that he was not going to take this abuse. It was my turn to be confused. He refused to tell me or show me that he had the fuses that i had requested. He told me that the fuses i wanted did not exist, and i didnt know what i was talking about.I decided it would be better if he left. I phoned to report his less than ideal service and found out it was a family owned business, with his wife being the person on the phone. She told me to come down and bring the fuses and they would sell them to me. I was now adament about not letting them past the threshold of my house.Heres the kicker; I had originally called just seeking the fuses and she told me she could not help me, and the only way to get the fuses was a $125 service call. i went to the shop with the fuses, pointed out to him that they did in fact exist, her husband told me they didnt have any.I waited four days. they arrived 45 minutes late, unprepared to complete the job per the customers request. The wife than told me that i saved myself $125 and I should be happy. her excuse was that they werent like Brighthouse, i only lost an hour of my day. When i told her that this was unacceptable, she threatened to call the police. So I left.First Edit in response the justification of your poor customer service skills. I went to your shop because your wife told me to come there. Checking your inventory consisted of you looking at one of the two fuses i brought with me for 15 seconds and telling me you didnt have it. Your wife was trying to save a customer, thats why i agreed to come to your place of business, it was only 4 minutes away, not a waste of time if it solved my problem. The main point of this is that you didnt have the fuses that i needed and you were prepared to charge me for work you were incapable of completing. That is what is important.
The worst Customer service, they refuse to fix mistakes and actually hung up on me and was very rude.
Very happy with the service and products!
They remember the customer!
