Great coffee with comfortable seating. Very knowledgable staff. Yummy treats for both gluten eating and gluten free folk. This is a great spot if you want to meet with someone to chat or if you just need a place to work. Lots of outlets for computers.

Can you taste the difference?I am drinking Sozo coffee right now that was roasted and ground in May. The bag was opened by me at the end of May. I just scooped the few remaining grounds into a KEURIG to try and brew something that didn’t didn’t fill me with self loathing and thoughts of future despair. To my shock it is still the best cup of coffee I’ve had in eons. As I near the end of my cup I hate myself a little less and think that maybe, just maybe there is hope for humanity.I can taste the difference.*For more serious mental health concerns, brew a second cup*

Go inside instead of going through drive thru, I waited 30 min in drive thru. Yes not alot of parking but much faster.

Awesome place! Their gluten free goodies are delicious and the cinnamon roll I had was probably one of the best dang cinnamon rolls Ive had. Have only tried the black bear which is an excellent dark roast, they also have a very tasty chai tea latte.

Very nice coffee shop! Very hipster and cozy. Random location but it’s right off the main road. The coffee was fresh (but a bit pricey) and the atmosphere was relaxed. The shop itself was pretty large with a couple of private meeting rooms you can use for gatherings. All in all, if you’re in the Ionia area, craving a fancy cup of joe and have some extra cash then you’ll thoroughly enjoy Sozo Coffee Roasting.

Three stars is not a negative, it just means average at best. I’ve driven by this place many times. Today I finally stopped. Service was quick, order taker was pleasant. I ordered an iced coffee with cream and a few other things, just tasted bitter to me. If I would’ve ordered a similar thing at Biggby, it would be better. Probably cheaper too. I see this place has quite a few positive reviews, I am happy that many people enjoy their products and service. So far, it’s just not for me.

I wish ionia was not as far as it is because the coffee was delicious!!

I ordered a Nutty Irishman for the first time, it was delicious. The set up is nice and they have a very convenient drive thru. I love the little stir stick they put in the opening to make sure it doesnt spill at all.

The coffee is great. The hot cocoa is great. The snacks are fantastic. And the atmosphere is perfect. So many fun recipies to try. The Nutty Irishman is my favorite, but the chocolate covered cherry and the brownie batter espresso are fabulous too.

Thus is probably one of the best coffee shops in the state. Very well made coffees, nice atmosphere and nice owners and staff.

Game changer. Great vibe. Was able to work remotely for two days when I was back home. Service was great and was the coffee was even better! I’d definitely suggest it and as a former barista I respect their attention to detail!

Fine experience, sure. But I just cant get over the fact they charge for ice.Not just a blended drink, thats justifiable.But you order a latte, want some ice dumped in it? 75 cents right on top of it.I mean, how tacky is that. Over head stuff aside, a cup of ice doesnt require a nickels worth of anything.Just kind of a cash grab playing like they are for the community.Head up the hill for comparable coffee and fair pricing.

Awesome local spot for some fabulous coffee. Head and shoulders above every chain! Super friendly fast service. They buy their coffee from central America and roast it themselves, and support the farms in Guatemala, Colombia, and a couple other places. Tried a new product called nitrous which was incredible. Get over there and give it a shot!

Sozo is a small town gem. Excellent coffee, great service, inviting atmosphere. Whether you want to connect with friends over a new and interesting brew, or a place to power through some work with a caffeine boost, I dont know a better option in Ionia county.

The best coffee Ive ever had! Ive been going there for as long as they have been open in Ionia, Mi. Everyone is extremely nice, the coffee is always delicious and so is the food. I even have digestive issues and their coffee is the only coffee that doesnt upset my stomach. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

This place is great!!Ive had espresso in Italy, France, Switzerland, England, and Germany (guess thats a Backdoor brag) and this is easily in the top three cups Ive had. The barista was great and was wonderful to talk to about the different brewing methods and what they brought to the cup. If you are within a hundred miles stop by, it is well worth the time and gas.

I made my first stop here this week, and I was so impressed. The drive thru is big enough to fit my commercial van, which is a huge plus. I ordered a latte, and the employee at the window was so nice. Coffee was delicious! I will definitely be back.

Coffee was better than it would have been at the other choices in town like McDonalds and Burger King. Cashier didnt get my order right. But they somewhat fixed after being asked a couple times. My advice slow down and listen to the customers requests instead of rushing to the next order. As a full service coffee shop you should be ready for any type of request.

This guy is the pablo Escobar of coffee absolutely fabulous product that he personally watches through the whole process hands down better than any franchise in Michigan.His key ingredient is love an excellent business skills

Ive really only been there once outside of work but if you like coffee they make good stuff.

There are view virtues of Small Town America, however SOZO Coffee Roasting and Espresso Bar is definitely at the top of this list. Despite having moved years ago to a bigger city I still have yet to find a place like this one with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and such high quality product. There really is no place like home especially when you are at SOZO.

Superb coffee, second to none! The store is beautiful, smells AMAZING, staff is super-friendly and qualified, bakery items are stellar, and they have great accessories. I love doing business with these guys and recommend them to everyone I can think of!

Great coffee and baked goods. I drive M-21 between Grand Rpids and St. Johns and I like to stop by for a wake me up. They buy a lot of their own beans direct from South America (check out the pictures on the walls) and roast them right there. Frehcn press, pour over, or regular brew they do it all. The baked goods are made there and are fresh. Give them a try.

Great location, absolutely love that they have a drive thru. A little pricey, more expensive than a mocha at Starbucks or Bigby. I did like more then bigby but the mocha was very sweet in my opinion. Also the menu didnt have many options listed. The staff was very nice.

I have there coffee every morning I love it and I have cinnamon rolls once an a while. Mindy and Rodney are my parents but I still love there stuff there employees are very nice to me and to there customes.

NO ONE does it better. Sozo Coffee is so good, that other stuff should not be allowed to call itself coffee. The cinnamon roll was world class. Its odd that a cup of coffee and cinnamon roll should be so hard to pull off perfectly, obviously it is. No one but Sozos is getting it perfect. Please keep doing exactly what you are doing Sozo folks.
