Great local pub, been coming here over the years now and then for food and it has never disappointed. The fries were awesome, a meal in themselves and the staff very friendly and helpful. Miss the beef stroganoff though, that was awesome!

This bar seems to have a refurb on a regular basis, I hope that ends soon. The drinks offer is always really good and, currently, the food offering has a range to suit all budgets and needs.

Had dinner here last night with my partner it was lovely. Wasnt busy macaroni n cheese and scampi we had and also cider and blackcurrant best cider Ive tasted in a long time. We will be back.

Very ordinary cocktails and they tried to over charge us

Booked a window table in advance for a special occasion and when we arrived were told we were sitting beside the tv, I objected and the staff reluctantly moved things around and we got our window seat.Food and drink were good but the small portion of the fish is tiny!

Good food, served by uber polite staff. We will certainly be back.

The Waiting Room is one of the best establishments in Morningside with a good light meal menu a good choice of drinks. It is especially good for sport lovers with a large number of stratecally positioned televisions.

Normally in the Waiting Room for drinks only but today were in for family meal which was excellent. Good varied menu with additional specials. Well presented, delicious and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and extremely attentive. Would definitelyrecommend.

Very accommodating staff, excellent bar for food and drinks. Dogs and kids welcome too which is really nice. Little bit cold inside in the winter but overall a comfortable 5 stars. Will definitely return!

Really nice vibe. Feels like the staff really care. Didnt eat but food coming out of the kitchen looked well presented. The only reason i didnt give 5 stars was because too bright, music was very low and felt it needed minor updates to venue but will definitely return. FYI drinks variety is good 👍

The staff were great, enjoyed my meal. I went for a fairly late lunch and it was pretty quiet with a mainly older clientele but thats just my own we snap shot. The surroundings were clean and comfortable and I loved the menu choices. Would visit again.

I went for coffee but others had very tasty bacon rolls, cooked the way they liked them. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We are going to make a habit of returning there.

First time visit was curious as a possible future watering hole nothing going on at this visit but will give a few more visits​ to be likeable.First impression was the pub was a cross between a roomy Railway Carriage & a Works Canteen future visits may more give favourable comments. Iain.

Went for breakfast and wasnt disappointed. Had the vegetarian option which came with a good selection. Wasnt asked for my preference of eggs. Our server was a pleasant and chatty fellow and they knew their regulars on a first name basis and what they wanted. Nice place and with some minor tweaks such as asking how you like your eggs would have got the 5.

Very good food and a good selection of beers. Just remember its a sports bar and can get very noisy. Staff were excellent as well.

Good breakfast menu to kick off a Saturday morning! Stay on for watching sport on the many screens but if that doesnt appeal there are booths to escape to. Real ales are well kept and change regularly. Daytime food also good quality and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and efficient although I wish they would write down the order rather than try to memorise it more often!

Eaten food hear a few times now. Really good quality meals and reasonable prices. The quiz nights on Sunday are good fun. Also big screen TV for football. Dog friendly which makes a big difference.

Pascal, our host, so lovely and helpful. Went there for Fathers Day, dad had fabulous fish and chips, I had chicken fajitas and hubby had a huge burger and fries! A great place AND its dog friendly!!!!!! Extra 🌟 🌟s xxx

A nice bar which I wish I went to more often. Good selection of drinks, including beers, ales, gins and vodkas. Have eaten both breakfast (all made with good quality stuff) and dinner (service was a little slow, but the burger was excellent) once each, and am keen to go back at some stage. Slightly pricier than your average Wetherspoons, but the quality is much better. Ive heard they host a very good pub quiz on Sunday.

Friendly staff, had high chairs for the baby, food was delicious. Lovely large windows for watching the outside world too.

Pleasant pub, with a standard but good value menu

I have went into the waiting room on numerous occasions and have found the staff and the food to be great. Unfortunately today it was very poor, went in to meet a friend and ordered a light lunch. My soup came out and ten minutes later my friends baked potato followed, which was a bit dried up salad with cream cheese and spring onions. I asked the waitress to swap this for normal grated cheese and was greeted with a poor manner wondering why on earth I would request this and hesitantly returned it to the kitchen. It came back out having been the baked potato from before which was now cold and had remnants of the cream cheese still on it. Very poor service today and staff members attitude left a lot to be desired. Wont be popping in for lunch anytime soon.

The Food was top rate, even the kids meals were freshly made. Prices are reasonable and service prompt. Well definitely visit when next in Morningside

The Rudest most arrogant barman in Edinburgh can be found in this bar. Being located in the immediate area of a large mental health unit a bit of patience and understanding needs to be adopted.

Nice atmosphereMy caesar salad had tomatoes cucumber and olives but was okay. An excellent burger with haggis, but the star was the french toast with maple syrup and bacon. Stick to the traditional and breakfast menu for the win. Sharing plate pudding was fun.

The waiting room is a finely balanced and quiet restaurant, during the day, week and weekends, noisier with drinkers at night ; the waiting room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a nicely priced menu.Kids are welcome before legal bartimes and with a small car park and easy parking outside prices to be a good choice for Sunday brunchers, local golfers and drinkers.

Good staff, reasonable selection of beer including cask (sometimes). Great busy local on a Friday, does what it sets out to do!

Good neighbourhood pub with reasonably priced food and a varied menu. When busy the service level can drop but that is to be expected anywhere!

This is a nice pub for an evening meal and a nice chat. Good food, drink and atmosphere.

The Waiting Room used to be my regular haunt when I stayed in the Oxgangs area of Edinburgh, partly because its a great pub and partly because Oxgangs lacks just that. The food was generally very good, a step or two up over average chain pub fare. The seating is comfortable and the pitchers of cocktails lethal. Friendly staff, decent service and a relaxed atmosphere. Not necessarily the best pub in Edinburgh, but still a great place to drink and spend time with friends. If you stay locally you cant go too far wrong with the Waiting Room.

Family friendly service. Good for our little one.
