I came in here to get my mother who has dementia set up with art supplies because she said she wants to start painting. The little lady that worked in there was so extremely helpful. She set me up with everything I needed and was very concerned about me staying on budget. She spent the whole time with me while I was in the store and was able to help me get everything my mom needed to feel successful as a new artist. Mom was extremely happy with what I got for her and made a beautiful painting right away. This is the new spot for all of my art supplies. To put a cherry on the top they also stay open later than all of the rest of the art supply stores.

Selection was good, staff was knowledgeable about the products and helped answer questions.

I bought a 11 x 17 inches blue grid lines perfect for my projects.I do home renovations and I started practicing sketches of my new projects.

Awesome store with plenty of supplies. So much paint! Get Every size canvas and notepads you would ever want. Plenty of brushes and pens. Tons of other craft supplies. The service is nice and helpful. Great location o. Southwest boulevard in the crossroads. Definitely worth a visit.

Always love to buy a nice bag of tumbled gemstones and minerals here. Staff are helpful if I have questions about supplies and enjoy browsing the little trinkets and craft kits for kids and hobby enthusiasts.

Easy to find with some off street parking. A large selection and super helpful staff made it very easy to quickly find just what I was looking for. Ill will be sure to remember this store next time I need any art related supplies.

You are doing yourself a disservice by visiting any other art shop in Kansas City.A&C has everything you could ever want to create anything and is always has an abundance of inventory (as opposed to other shops in town). Visiting this shop is always a pleasant experience, from chatting with the employees to bumping into other artists.

Such a great selection and good prices!

I had never been in this store, but tried it out. I had a very specific need. I needed a spray product for laser printer photo. I asked for acid free, non yellowing, protection against UV damage, and something that will not cause my photo to wrinkle or bubble. The two people at the counter were totally attentive and lead me straight to a great product, Golden Archival Varnish. I have finished spraying with 8 coats and the results are fabulous. I am so grateful to them! I will go there far anything I need now. Many kudos to this store.

We fine things here we cannot find anywhere else.

I tried to go in this store to buy acrylic paints and look for airbrush supplies. When I walked in I was told that I had to wear 2 masks...One of theirs over the one that I was already wearing. I simply didnt understand at first and was then spoken to in such a rude tone that I just turned around and left. Ill strap eight masks to my head if you really want me to, but theres no need to be rude when Im one foot in the door.

This is one of my favorite places to go. I dont get there often but when I do, I soak in all the color, products and inspiration, which seems to be hanging in the air. Its so much fun. And the staff... they are some of the nicest people and they actually make art themselves so when you ask a question about a product, the chances are either they or someone else working there has used it and can give you an intelligent explanation of it. If you have not been its time to get your butt down there. Kind people, great prices and amazing products.

I have been shopping with A&C for a long time and they never fail to not only provide excellent customer service and courtesy but also they never fail to provide a variety of unique materials from drawing and painting supplies to quirky knickknacks which youll hardly find at any other art and craft store. I also enjoy the fact that the store has a gallery section which showcases local artists making it a win win for both maker and supplier. Recommended times 100!

The staff always makes me feel unwelcome, and it makes me dread walking through the door. They seem like they hate their customers and checking out is the worst part. Not all the employees act this way, but most of the ones I’ve experienced send out some very bad energy. I’ve even gotten an eye roll after walking in. Love the store, but i don’t want to feel anxiety going to an art store and leave upset, so I simply don’t shop there anymore.

Wow my girlfriend loved this place. So many craft supplies. I feel an artsy person could spend hours if not days just looking around this place. Love the building too very cool architecture. Staff were friendly and helpful even though we came in close to closing. Helped us find exactly what we were looking for.

This place is amazing. Their prices are a little high, but their selection and the quality of help you get from the staff makes it worth it. Theyve always been helpful and patient, and its a great place to get supplies for just about any art form.

I was so excited to find an art store in walking distance for me. I spent a good 2 hours looking at everything so many options for painting but also calligraphy, knitting, masks,screen printing, spray painting, and more. Great experience will be back soon

I buy every drawing and paint supplies in this store. It’s a big store and it’s somewhat relaxing to walk around in a store full of art supplies. The people working there are very nice (the counter is right at the door tell them hi) and there’s a big selection of brands at really affordable prices (if like me you like to empty your bank account on notebooks pencils, and fineliners).

The very best place for art supplies. They give me a homeschool teacher discount of 10% without having to “prove” that I’m legit. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They have everything under the sun, including a great kids’ section with endless items kids of all ages will enjoy. They’ve got decent prices and are always stocked. Shop here & avoid creepy places like Hobby Lobby.

My favorite art store ever! I fell in love with Artist and Craftsman went to the location in Chicago years ago and was overjoyed when I found out that they had a location in Kansas City. They ALWAYS have what Im looking for, both when I was in college getting my Bachelor of Fine Arts and after college with my various art projects. They also have unique gifts in addition to high quality art supplies, so I always end up finding a fun gift for friends when I shop there. I absolutely cannot recommend this shop enough.

This place has quality supplies for arts and crafts, for professionals and hobbyists alike, however their household tools are not very good. I would prefer those of a run-of-the-mill hardware store.The staff seem educated in the arts and art supplies markets, and interested in the materials of other crafts for which they have no supplies. They will generally tell you where to get good supplies if they dont have something.

Employees are always helpful and cool! And the prices are comparable to any craft store chain, if not better. Support this local business for all your artsy crafty needs!

This place has the best brands, low prices and selection for artists. There are often sales and every product has a list price and our price which saves at least a small percentage. Im always satisfied to find my preferred pens and weights of paper here, a range of choices you wont find at a big box retailer as this is a specialty store. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about art. Theyll answer any questions, but you have to go get them. Ive never been approached in store. Its location is great to visit during First Fridays as there is usually something going on nearby.

This is my go-to place for supplies! They have everything from sketchbook to pipe cleaners to books to encaustics!If im looking for a specific tool, theyll usually have it. If not the staff is more than willing to help you find an alternative.The staff knows what thier talking about. Most of them have a lot of knowledge about art and have gone to art school to top it off. They will help you out even if you think all is lost.Love this store. Love the staff. What the..... !?! BIL took me to this place Id never been to before. Staggering! Massive selection, on par to better than average pricing. Worth going if you have a need or want to vaporize a checkbook.

They are fully stocked with the best materials. They even carry some of the more obscure tools for wood carving or intaglio. I recommend trying here before everywhere else.

This place has a lot to offer for artists and artisans. Wide varieties of paints, markers, sculpture and pottery, and a whole bunch more than we saw while we were in. I bought a gift card for my son, and expect hell make a bunch more candles and pick up at least one new crafty skill.

It’s difficult to find something negative to say about Artist & Craftsmen Supply. I mostly shop for notebooks and pens (they stock tons of both), but the variety of other art materials is impressive. They have bookmaking supplies!

Walking in to this store for the first time, I thought Id died and gone to art supply heaven. The extensive and diverse array of supplies they have in stock was nearly overwhelming. Aisle after aisle of things Ive only seen in specialty catalogs, but never on a retail shelf or pegboard. So very impressive! From bookbinding supplies to stonecutting tools and everything in between. And the prices were surprisingly very good for the quality and variety available.
