I’ve been dying to visit a Blick store in person, this one did not disappoint! The staff was helpful and very patient with me as I made sure to look at everything and spent about a hour in there. Knowledgeable and friendly when I needed a little help with a few items and threw several product suggestions my way. The in store experience was so great that I can see myself making the five hour drive occasionally just for the in person experience.

High quality art supplies with a very helpful staff. The selection seems good and the store seems well kept. They helped me look at one of the items to see what it was and then I bought the item. They have a ton of stuff packed in there!

Been coming here for a few years and always have a great experience. The workers are so friendly and helpful and theres a super wide variety of high quality products you can hardly get anywhere else. Just recently went with my mother in law who needed to use her wheelchair and the workers helped us maneuver through the store as its a little cramped in the store. But we got through it all just fine. Love this store!

Always get great service here, try the grab bags. The employees/artists here put them together and give you a general description of what type of project it is. For $20 I recieved a sketchbook, a set of colored pencils, sharpener and a small set of oil pastels. Good buy.

Awesome place to get art supplies! Ive been shopping here since high school, its always clean, organized, along with excellent customer service, and good deals. I love that the employees here are artists as well so they are very knowledgeable about the supplies. Sarah especially goes above & beyond to assist me, gives great suggestions, and does it all with a positive attitude.

A great art store, especially since it was combined with Utrecht, remodeled and made bigger. Blick doesnt carry as much as they have in their catalog, but its nice to pick out colors and try things in person. Still, you can get a better deal online when you watch for sales.Its a 15 mile trek for me, so I dont go as often as I would like.Parking is very limited. If you go on the weekend, you may not find a place to park. Their employees are generally helpful and friendly.

Basically attacked at the door to wear a mask. One of the lady workers was extremely rude. The mask recommendations have been lifted in KC. We purchased a few items but, not nearly as many as we intended to. Simply put, I will spend my money elsewhere with treatment like this even if its online. We always try to buy local. Businesses like this should be more appreciative of thier customers. Businesses have been shutting down all over already. These kinds of people dont care if the business shuts down, they will just jump to the next one and leave the owners of the company to deal with the mess that they didnt help keep customers. They do have a good selection that you cant get else where. Thats the only reason Im not rating it a 1 star. If the employees were nicer and not being rude it would have been at least a 4 star if not 5.

I was really excited to go to this art store. Im a painter and was hoping to find not only paints and brushes but also things TO paint, like ceramic figurines and sculptures made out if wood, or even canvas pictures... things that you can buy even at places like the Dollar tree. They didnt carry ANYTHING like that at all and the paint and brushes they carried were so expensive I was blown away. They were about 10 times higher price than Im used to paying! The other reason Im giving two stars is because my boyfriend and I were each getting followed around by a different employee, like we were going to steal from them. I spent close to $100 there yet was treated like thief. I will not be back.

Totally awesome place to pick up supplies for art work. Prices are about average. I would much rather go here than a large chain art craft store even if I had to pay a bit more price wise. Help was amazing you could tell just talking to them that they were passionate about their own art. Very eager to help you find what you need and offer advice if youre not sure or wanting suggestions. Top notch!

Great art supplies here! They limit occupancy to about 8 shoppers (for COVID reasons), so it can take time to get inside, but its worth the wait

Wow! What a hidden gem. I didnt even know this place existed, but they have a great selection in lettering tools, pens, markers. Love it. Will definitely be making this my go to place for all my lettering needs.

Came here on halloween sometime around noon. Was greeted kindly by the girl at the front door. Usually get great service here but the girl at the checkout was just awful. Short stout girl with curly pinkish reddish hair, if I remember correctly... This woman barely said two words to me, acted like I didn’t exist as a customer took my money that was it. No greeting, hi bye have a nice day not even eye contact and she didn’t ask if I had a blick card to get a discount. Never been treated like that in that store. Honestly, just made me feel like $hit and nobody wants to feel that way when you are spending your money at their establishment. Like I said everybody is usually incredibly friendly, especially the manager very sweet lady like usually everyone in there is super nice but Idk who that girl was at the front desk but it was like bad customer service. I probably wont come back.

Great staff! I called about 140 lb hot press watercolor paper and when I arrived the associate remembered me and got it ready. It was quick, friendly and left me feeling good about creating some art. They have oodles of all kinds of art supplies, too. Highly recommended!

I love this store.We went to another art supply establishment first today, walked through the door to be greeted with a very disinterested hello and just found the atmosphere unwelcoming. Not good when a family member is visiting the US and checking out the arts district. So the store lost our custom.Anyway we headed to Blick instead and the staff there were welcoming and helpful. I did say to one of the staff members there that the customer service was terrible in the last store we went to. It is just such a nice atmosphere in Blick. Plus they have some good sales on. And I tend to use them quite a bit especially for online deliveries.

I’ve been going here for a few years now. My daughter is the artist, I know nothing about any of this and everyone has been helpful, from maximizing deals to finding the right paints. This last time they help me navigate the different “mediums” and find adorable boxes of clay and paints. For someone that doesn’t fit in they’ve treated me great and the prices are the best.

I had an absolutely horrible experience with a short-statured, short, curly, haired female worker who berated me for not having a card that had a PIN attached so I couldn’t buy my items. I asked if there was a way to bypass this and she shrugged and replied, “you can leave now!” I will never be returning.

I love that a store like this exists: an art supply store for real artists, although the staff here has never failed to be helpful for the less artistically-minded, either. In fact, the people here are very understanding and kind. Check it out, if you havent.

They have a A team of employees who I guess you could say they have a great knowledge of their products they also have a program for frequent customers to save money and earn points . This place is incredible! The people that work the store are always super willing to help you, friendly, find anything, or answer any questions. The store is very clean and organized, but has a ton of selection to choose from. on top of that they are always running special pricing and sales, and while there materials are of good value, the quality is also of a high standard. Honestly one of my favorite stores in Kansas City.

I went to Blicks today to shop art supplies locally for some watercolor projects. Three different people there helped me find what I needed and offered great suggestions for alternatives and comparisons. I felt at ease to browse at my leisure even if it was the last hour of their shift. They had current info on what was happening with the manufacturers of the products and whether the product quality for each brand was going up, down or maintaining its current value. I highly recommend that if you are in KC looking for a good fine art supply store, you check out Blicks Art Supply first.

This is the Best art store in town (of the four that I know of). It seems that everything is always stocked and I can’t remember ever having to go somewhere else because I they were out of something.It’s not a super trendy art store with loud alternative music and cool atmosphere ( I guess the name “Blick” would imply that). But if you just want something or if you’re not sure what you want but pretty sure you’ll know it when you see it, then this is the place.The only complaint I have is with the parking. It’s tight, but you can always find a spot.

Terrible customer service. I called to see if they had the right stretcher bars for my canvas and I asked when they close on Friday. I was told 7pm. I drove in 20+ miles from Basehor, KS and actually arrived at 6:05.Closed.Knocked on the door and spoke with the assistant manager who said there was nothing she could do because she closed out her register for the day. She said that I spoke on the phone with their newest employee, who didnt know the hours. What? That should be the first thing that an employee is told to an employee who is answering the phone.I was also told to come back when they are open. I wont. Lost me as a customer. Too bad.

This art store is well stocked with all sorts of different types of art supplies. I dont go for the art supplies except for the newspaper sketch pads, which I use to organize my story writing, to keep everything in one area. They have a lot of kitschy stuff, too, fun for the whole family.

Went to Blick to pick up some watercolor supplies and was helped by the GM, sadly cant remember her name. She was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out a few basics since Im just starting out. Got signed up for their card and saved a little bit of money, signing up got me the lower online price! Will gladly be back for more supplies!

Good enough art store but completely wrapped up in the Covid hysteria. Face masks have been proven time and again to be ineffective placebos, yet Blick requires them to enter the store and only allow 10 ppl in at a time, including employees. 30 minuteslater and i had the can of paint i needed. You know who doesnt have these policies? Amazon and Hobby Lobby - ill just go there next time i need something! Youre putting YOURSELVES out of business!

After a day of poor customer service from basic business related experiences with my company - I needed to simply purchase some special pens for my staff for a project. Seth greeted me, WALKED me to the pens he felt would work for me, tested his recommendation so I could see it for myself, then walked me to the register to ring me up. I was in and out in two minutes and was super grateful for the one positive customer service experience in my day. Thank you, Seth, for not just pointing me to an isle and leaving me to fend for myself - even though it was such a small purchase.

I usually buy sticker sheets and chipboard from them but I havent been there for a while. The sticker sheets have been discontinued and I wasnt the only one sad to see them go. One of the staff liked to buy them too. They started carrying special effects makeup books. One of which had only been available in Japanese. I wish they would carry more airbrush paint. But they need a bigger location.

I go to Blick from time to time and mainly if its to get sketchbooks or specific paper, things essentially you can pick up easy. The prices for other supplies such as pens, pencils, etc can be expensive even with a discount. So if $ isnt an issue go ahead same if youre getting paper or sketchbooks, otherwise Amazon is what Id recommend for everything else and at a better price.
