This was the best crew for our FIRST salt water dive! Travis was a blast and gave great scoop on the sites. Jeff was so helpful and made me feel so at ease. And from the first phone call to getting us outfitted perfectly, way to go Jeremy!!!
We had a great time the captain and first mate where great, very informative and funny. They took us to the French reef were we went snorkeling. I was a first timer, they supplied everything I needed and gave great instructions on how to have the best experience while in the water. And I had an amazing time. The reef was beautiful.
Great diving and snorkeling experience with Sea Dwellers. We spent the day with them. Half our group did a refresher course in the morning, then in the afternoon we all went out on the same boat. Half the group went diving, the other half went snorkeling. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Awesome dive instructor. Great captain and crew. The service was amazing from the first call, to the convenience of signing waivers online, to the check in, to the boat safety review,.....oh yes, and the diving was pretty amazing too!
The office staff where very friendly on the phone and give lot of details for the snorkeling tour. I apologize that can’t remember the young man and lady names.Upon arrival to the office location both the young lady and man greeted the family when we walked in, answered additional questions we had. They assisted with the consent form for questions we had on that, and then young man assisted with our snorkeling equipment and give good directions to the dock.Once we got on the boat we met Captain Travis and first mate Jeff and they greeted all Divers/Snorkelers with hardy hello.Captain Travis give introduction to him and rest of crew, also give tips about the boat and updates as where were going. The Captain also pointed some cool sights for the divers to check out and for the snorkelers also. He also greeted all when coming back on the boat.First Mate Jeff was very friendly and provides with tips for snorkeling and was quick to assist both Divers and Snorkelers back to boat. The family had very pleasant experience from start to finish, and will glad do a tour again with Sea Dwellers.
Had a great experience with this crew on the days we were able to dive. The boats are great, staff is awesome. We were given detailed briefings with interesting spots to watch for, and taken to colorful locations on the reefs. They had the right balance of assistance without being overbearing. We look forward to diving with them again.
This was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.Rob A. Doug, Russel, Nick and the entire team were fin, accommodating, and very professional.Their equipment rentals were top notch, all cylinders were clean and fully filled when we got on board. The boats were clean and well stocked. If you are diving in Key Largo, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sea Dwellers. They are fantastic, will recommend to friends and will DEFINITELY dive with them again.
Captain and crew were awesome. We came all the way from Texas to dive but it was too rough for all boats except for the Sea dwellers and we had a blast. Very safety oriented
Top-notch dive company in key largo - very pleased with everything and everyone from start (reservations) to finish (checkout) . Excellent communication and customer service. My son and I had not dived for 4 years so the refresher was much appreciated and Rob was awesome as an instructor. He was Very thorough and patient as we got comfortable diving again. The folks in the shop were friendly and very knowledgeable. Gear and boat were in great condition. Brian in the shop was very understanding of a need to change our itinerary due to a minor medical issue. Would definitely recommend this company and will use them if we come back to Key Largo (hope to!).
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for training, especially for families! Wonderful Staff and Instructors! We brought our family to Key Largo to learn to scuba dive. We arrived as brand new divers and left fully certified and confident that we can dive anywhere. Their staff and instructors were patient with us... one of my kiddos has a high functioning form of autism and they were kind enough to work closely with him during his training.
We had a great dive with Sea Dwellers in April 2021. Our dive site and time was changed, due to rough conditions. They were apologetic about the changes, but I really appreciate they were concerned most about our safety. The dive briefing was awesome at both dive sites, and having a verbal map of the area really helped us plan our dive. Thanks!
Great dives and great stuff on the boat (Dean and Nick) and at the dive shop. We saw more animal life than we expected including rays, sharks, various angel fish and some beautiful neon blue fishes, probably parrots. Beautiful sandy patches. Molasses reef is very shallow at places. The depth was less than four meters at one place and the boat we’re running above. So I would recommend to pay attention to the depth and control buoyancy at all times.
My wife and I just returned from three days of diving with Sea Dwellers. The first two days were spent obtaining our Open Water scuba certification and the last day was a recreational dive after getting certified. Not knowing what to expect on our open water dives, we were a little nervous. Nate, who was our divemaster, promptly set our mind at ease and provided very good instruction. We had a wonderful time getting certified. Our third day was a two-tank recreational dive. Due to a great Captain and instruction, we had a cool experience diving the Benwood wreck. When we return to the Keys, we will dive with Sea Dwellers again...
Since I haven’t been diving for about four years now I realized I needed a review course for my discovery trip of the Florida reef in Key Largo. I have over 250 dives in my logbooks so I knew it was time for a review course. I did a diligent search after booking hotel and flights. I settled on Sea Dwellers after speaking with six dive operations. Yesterday I completed the review course with instructor Rob. The morning pool session was a comprehensive review with hands on guidance and experiential learning. It was time and money well spent. In the afternoon we headed for the barrier reef. There were other students and regular divers in the boat and all the crew were considerate and caring making our adventure comfortable and a good learning experience. I don’t remember all their names but they were all helpful on the trip. Our dives were shallow to 36 feet or less which I welcomed for the review. As I get older I don’t have the inclination to dive deep with the attendant stress and challenges. So I was content and surprised at what I saw. Rob was great at keeping tabs on us and making sure all was well and it was a good learning experience. He also pointed out sharks and lobsters and spectacular fish. I feel confident in my diving skills again and I look forward to my next dives with Sea Dwellers. 👍🤿
Great dive shop! They really take good care of you. I took my 17 year old daughter to get certified and was nervous about it, but Rob and Derek were super patient and made her feel very comfortable. I will definitely come back.
Capt. Nick and skipper Kate were great. Would highly recommend them to others. Thanks again!
These guys rock! They keep it safe but let you have fun at the same time. Pleasent conversations and beautiful views cant beat Sea Dwellers!!!!
These guys were awesome. This was my first time diving in Florida, and I will be back, to dive with Sea Dwellers. Katie and Jeff are exceptional dive masters, and Russell is probably the nicest Captain I have ever met. I look forward to diving with all of yall again.
If you are in key largo or planning to be there and go scuba diving or snorkeling or leren to dive and get certified look no fartherThis guys are amazing and very professional the best place very relaxed and personal its a small shop and that is a plus.Thank you. rocky #1 dive master.
My daughter and I recently completed a 2 tank trip with Sea Dwellers, what a great trip it was. Very professional, great brief, great guide, great conditions. I saw Molasses Reef in a completely different way than I’m used to after several years of diving that reef. My hats off to Brian and the crew of Sea Dwellers. Looking forward to my next Fl trip and a chance to dive with this team again.
Thank you Sea Dwellers - we had a great time and loved seeing Jesus! Good luck Hailey 🎓
They are the absolute best in the keys.I have dived with pretty much every other company and I can say they are the most through and honest company... we ended up doing our Advanced Open Water Certification with Sea Dwellers!!!Bonus, the recently remodeled their boat and its amazing! Love the new benches and camera table!!!On our trip this month we actually chased dolphins around that were swimming alongside the boat! Talk about an awesome experience.
The primary reason this dive shop is great is the staff. No matter how crazy the shop got they were always patient and helpful. My son did his open water dives for his certification and Rob A. was the perfect balance of friendly and mindful of the what they were doing. Jen is a hoot, Jeremy is always helpful and the boat Captains are very professional and helpful. We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Sea Dwellers package deal. The hotel was between the dive shop and the boat marina. The Holiday Inn was great for the kids. Pool was perfect and free breakfast for kids under 12 with paying parent. All was very reasonable.
Half Day snorkel your to two locations was really well done. Would recommend after going on the tour with Doug and Katie on Paradise Below. Doug was a great captain and Katie, marine biologist, was really educational and friendly to everyone on the boat. They take very good care of their boat and clearly know the reefs, planning the trip to avoid crowds and giving advise on where to focus our exploring at the reef. There are a lot of companies to research so go with Sea Dwellers and youll be good
Rob, Jeff, Travis, Jim & Katlyn were all above amazing. My first time experience and I was s*** scared but they made be comfortable and made sure we are safe and have a great time too. Can’t say enough good about them . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ To them
Simply the best! They literally saved our groups trip. We booked with Rainbow Reef, and were cancelled less than 2 weeks prior to our trip! We had already purchased hotels and plane tickets. Sea Dwellers picked up our group and were so accommodating for us! They made calls to other shops on our behalf, and even booked us night dives with another charter even though the money would come out of their pocket. Brian the owner was greatly understanding and even reached out on his cell one night to inform us of wind conditions the next day. Awesome time and will be back!
Aligning with low star reviews, the girl at the shop were rude and not helpful. Initially I had a bad experience and lots of miscommunications. But manager Brian did clear things up afterwards. He fixed the wrongs and saw things from our prospective, so they are good overall. However, if you are a serious experienced diver that doesnt get sea sick and can dive 4-6 foot waves without complain, you should avoid this place. They are serious about safety, so they cancel trips quite often (too often for me). There are other shops like Islamorada Dive Center that never cancel trips even in bad conditions like 4-6 foot high waves and strong currents (they will still refund you if you dont wanna go). For a more experienced diver, I will prefer this kind of shop who always give you an option.[Original post:]For the 1pm trip, the girl over the phone told us to arrive at 11:15am or 11:30pm by the latest for checking in. So we arrived at 11:15am June 24th and finished checking in in five minutes. We had nothing else to do, so we waited and waited for the boat check-in time at 12:45pm. UNLUCKILY, the boat had mechanical issue. Okay as a dive master worked in other shops before, I do understand this and its unpreventable. We left the boat at 2pm feeling unsatisfied and a day wasted.I went back to the shop. We got refund for 06/24/2021 trip without any problem. Because of bad experience so far, I wanted to cancel my 06/25/2021 trip additionally. But the girl at shop simply kept reiterating the cancellation policy without caring our point of view. It seemed to them my day, time, and vacation worth nothing. I got angry instead of simply unsatisfied. Then I went straight to the manager Jeremy on the dock. He did a great job correcting the miscommunication. DIVERS YOU CAN CHECK IN EARLY such as a day earlier, so you just need to be on dock by 12:45pm to onboard. Or you can check in as late as 12:15pm if you are doing morning dives with other shops. Just make sure you have enough time to pick up your rental gears and not delay boat departure. THEY ARE ACCOMMODATIVE. If you have a bad service, just talk to other crew members instead.[Update1:]Brian called me afterwards today. He did clear things up further. I will give them a second shot tomorrow. Will update afterwards.[Update2:]The afternoon trip got cancelled because of high waves and I got fully refunded. Nonetheless, this time, I planned a morning dive with Islamorada Dive Center. High waves 4-5 feet and super strong current. Shop told me the condition and checked again over again to make sure I were fully aware of that. Half of divers decided not to dive but the other half still had the chance to go. The condition was okay for me as a more experienced dive master.
Very friendly staff. Such an amazing experience, me and my wife did snorkeling while her dad and her sister scuba dived. The 1st day they had a guide which was very experienced but only complaint from that is he would come up early on both dives (down time of 45& 48 minutes) and the 2nd day the guide (which they didnt use or need) was down for 53 & 56 minutes). Might not necessarily the guides fault. They were very late on the first day due to mishap of gas man not showing up but they still give us the time we brought on the reef. Saw eel, sharks, and sea turtles. Would recommend this place!
My family and I used the services of Sea Dwellers recently for snorkeling the reefs near Key Largo. This was the first time my children had ever gone snorkeling so they didnt know what to expect. The ship was tight and captain & first mate were on point. They are knowledgeable and made it clear that safety is the priority while keeping it all fun. I would definitely use their services again.
Quick friendly check-in both at the shop and online/e-mailing back and forth with Amber. Rob A. Instructor for Refresher Course. Been 3 years, but Master Diver Cert with lots of dives. Still refresher course was good to do (and required after this long). Easy, simple, all came back in an instant. 2 Shallow Dives went fine. Little cold (74 F.) for a half suit, but no issues. Really appreciated that Rob A. allowed me to continue diving when buddy sucked his air fairly quickly. Took him to surface/boat and came back down to continue our dive for another 20 minutes. Little thing. But greatly appreciated. Highly recommend and will be going again when Im in the Keys.
I would highly recommend the sea dweller‘s dive shop to anyone. We have dove with them a few times in the past and we will dive with them again soon. Our dive yesterday was amazing! We were given the option to continue with our dive today or cancel due to bad weather and we chose to cancel. We were given a refund for today’s dive. The staff is very very accommodating and friendly. Our dive master Katie was a great underwater guide and pointed out a variety of sea life. Both Katie and the staff made sure we had air for our dives and no one had any problems at all on the dive.
Very professional and knowledgeable.. they take you to some of the best spots in the keya to dive and can provide everything as well as get you certified at a very reasonable price! i cant reccomend sea dwellers enough!!nick and rob are bolth amazing and very helpfull
Great Memorial Day weekend with Sea Dwellers. We did our Open Water Class with them and it was awesome. Our instructors were patient and very detailed.. went on two trips overall. Will be back!
Sea Dwellers is a super professional outfit, their staff is warm, welcoming and highly competent. You would be hard-pressed to find a better dive outfit in The Keys. Rob is a top-notch instructor and guide, and one of the friendliest Bostonian’s you’ll ever meet. Don’t go anywhere else!
The crew and the ship were very nice. We went on the Sea Dweller III, which had two levels and a restroom that could be used half the time (not close to shore and not in the reef for obvious reasons). The excursion is best suited for diving. We went as snorkelers, but the open water was so rough we had trouble fighting the current and staying close to the ship. The reef also wasn’t close enough to the surface to really see anything, especially as the waves were consistently going over our snorkels. We would use Sea Dweller for diving in the future, but won’t snorkel off the coast again. I know the seas were especially rough on this day, but open sea can only be so calm for swimming along the surface.
A great group of professional divers and captain. It was a great experience snorkeling with this team.
The guys on the boat seemed nice but there was a serious lack of communication from the people in the shop. We didn’t end up being able to snorkel but by the time they let us know it was too late to book anything else. Drove down from Miami for nothing. I’m so surprised at all of the rude people we have met in key largo and Florida in general.
This company did a fabulous job of giving our crew the very best snorkeling day possible! It was a windy day, so Captain Joe and Co-captain Katie guided us to Grecian Rock. My group of 6 mostly young and active 20 year olds had an absolute blast. It was the best part of our trip to the Keys!!! Thanks to everyone at Sea Dwellers, we really appreciate the way you guys do business. Highly recommended!
Capt. Doug and Katie were phenomenal!! Your safety is their 1st priority and they were great with our son who had not been on a boat in the ocean very much and helped take great care of him since he started getting motion sickness and was unable to go back down on the 2nd dive with us. Even though our son couldn’t go down on the 2nd dive Katie snorkeled with him and answered all his questions about the types of fish they were seeing. They truly care for their customers and want you to have fun while being safe.
Excellent experience. Took my girls out for their first open water snorkeling trip. They completely enjoyed the fish and corals
The folks at Sea Dwellers were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Shreck was great with our 10 yr old for her open water certification. I would definitely recommend this group for all of your diving and snorkeling needs!
I dove with Sea Dwellers three times in February and thoroughly enjoyed each one. I am 65 years old and fairly new at scuba diving. It was my first experience with surge, waves and current and it was a great time and a good learning experience. I hired a guide for each dive and Im glad that I did. The whole staff was very friendly and professional. Cody, Robb and the rest of the crew and guides were very helpful and patient. I will be diving with them again.
The folks at Sea Dwellers are the best, from the original phone call through the entire dive experience, they spent time thoroughly detailing the process I would go through. They tailored my experience based on my diving history (recent and past). Rick is great! He dove with me and made sure I was not rushed and he was flexible in terms of where we went once at depth. Ended up buying some new equipment as well! Boat was clean and safe, the people were extraordinarily nice and I will recommend Sea Dwellers to any level diver!
Great scuba shop - we were there the week of 1/10/21. They allow you to scuba with your buddy (ies) with no master diver. Before booking I was concerned because we always had a master diver in the group. This was the best independent dives we have ever had with a shop. Great equipment, but we ended buying fins next door at a huge scuba shop with great selection. This dive outfit is very relaxed but safe. They offer Holiday Inn discounts as part of scuba packages where the rooms are located next to the dock (1 minute walk)where the boat is! It doesn’t get better. The dive staff was very good and we got to include single divers that needed buddies with my son and I that made the dives even better as we shared the experience. If you like scuba freedom without following someone this was refreshing and well managed.
What a great operation! We started off in the pool with Jeremy and he was absolutely fantastic with my 12 and 15 year old. It had been a couple years since I dove so Brian came over and offered me a free refresher course in the pool. Then for our two tank dive Jeff was our dive guide again he was fantastic. Don’t hesitate to book with sea dwellers!!!
They where so great and I had the amazing time!! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The reef was the best diving I have ever done and I saw so many animals!! Including sea turtles and a hammerhead shark!!
I had a poor experience with Sea Dwellers. It is a small shop but very difficult to work with. Things that could have been addressed easily through communication were made difficult. The lady in the front office was not helpful by constantly claiming ignorance. When asked to speak to Brian, the owner, or someone in charge who can answer the questions and make a decision, she found all kinds of excuses preventing a direct conversation. We left a message for the owner to call us back, but never got a response before we left the Keys. Very disappointed. For those who come all the way to the Keys to dive but don’t want to ruin your vacation, find somewhere else - there are plenty of other good shops, such as Captain Slates.
Most amazing experience of my life this past week. First time in open water and picked cold weather days so was very apprehensive but managed to get certified and enjoyed every minute of it.Couldn’t have done this without Kelly my instructor. She made me feel very comfortable in spite of being exposed to an alien environment for the first time and in freezing outside temperatures. Her patience and directions along with her constantly watching and checking over you got me to be calm and relaxed and actually enjoy the experience. Also saw couple of nurse sharks and Stingrays and explore a ship wreak. Can’t wait to go back and do my advanced with Kelly.Have to also mention Amber. She guided me through this entire journey to prepare for this with her knowledge and experience. She is strict when it comes to following the certification rules but because of this I was better prepared. She joined us on one of the dives and is great fun to hang out with.Thank our sea dwellers. Couldn’t have done this without you and look forward for many more dives
Very friendly and professional crew and instructors. I highly recommend them. Everything was very well organized and made the trip very fun.
We had an awesome time diving with Sea Dwellers! We went out on a really rough day but the crew navigated us to French Reef and we were able to get in two good dives. The dive boat was awesome, will definitely return in the future!
Called ahead of time and asked if we could do a 2 day tank rental and they said yes. I showed up and the girl up front was rude and didnt really want to help me. She said she couldnt look me up because PADI website was crashing and that they only do 1 day tank rentals and she also said that no boats were going out tomorrow. She didnt even try to look me up or help out in anyway. We have our own boat and I went to Scuba fun nearby and they helped me out no issues what so ever.
Amazing experience! I emailed the shop with my concerns of COVID and they quickly accommodated my schedule change away from the holiday season. I arrived a day early to check out the shop and acclimate myself to the certification process. The ship manager was friendly and put all my equipment together after just a glance at me (and she nailed it). The pool training is directly across the street from the shop and the boat next to it through the parking lot - very convenient operation. Jeremy Weeks was outstanding. He took his time to ensure I understood the skills, felt safe, and was completely on top of all the random things that popped up with our group of divers. His experience and expertise put me at complete ease - wish I could take him on my travel dives! He even booked my friend to dive with us. The boat was not packed so it was somewhat comfortable without a mask. The captain was friendly and informative - it looked like he had the biggest boat compared to the competition. Just remember the package you booked on the site you will need to remind them. I purchased 6 dives but was only booked for 4 so they gave me a rain check when I mentioned it. And there was an offer to purchase discounted equipment when I purchased online but no one offered anything at the shop. I ended up purchasing my equipment when I returned home as there was a lot going on for them. I highly recommend getting your certification with Sea Dwellers and ask for Jeremy.
Had an Awesome experience with Sea Dwellers! Great crew, great instructors. Well run Dive Shop!
Enjoyed three days and a recertification course with Sea Dwellers. The crew and staff are excellent. Only two complaints. First, they combined divers and snorkels on the same boat, which was a little frustrating for both groups because they had to pick spots that were in-between desirable depths. More important was the condition of the equipment. The rental BCDs were fine. The regulators showed their age. And even for those with their own gear, the tanks were plagued by bad o-rings. I think I counted four that blew in one trip, one while the diver was in the water. The problems were resolved quickly thanks to the great crew but the loss of air and lack of extra tanks became an issue.
My girlfriend and myself decided to advance our skills with Sea Dwellers by taking the advance diving course. Kelly answered our first phone call and answered all of questions about the course. She was also our dive instructor. Kelly was a great instructor, made us feel comfortable, very knowledgeable, and very informative. We learned a lot from Kelly and had lots of fun. The crew on the boat was also awesome. They all helped everyone, captain’s briefings were good and informative.
Safety not a Concern! Our group of 6 was scheduled to scuba and snorkel 4/28/21 but the trip was cancelled due to rough conditions. We went instead on 4/29/21. It was very rough and many were sick. Two divers were back on boat within 5 minutes because it was too rough, before my husband even got into the water. My husband snorkeled and tried to manage the high waves. He was in the water for ~20 minutes about 70 ft from the boat when he yelled Help! The crew Dean and Nick, were not at the back of the boat and didnt hear his cries. I stood up and shouted to them He Needs Help! They threw out a buoy that landed less than halfway to my husband and went back to the front of the boat. After 5 minutes, he yelled again Help! No one came. This time I got up and again cried out urgently He Needs Help!!! Dean went to the back of the boat and yelled at him Swim!!! I cried He Cant Swim!!!! Dean yelled angrily back at me Then He Shouldnt Be Here!He couldnt swim because he was getting water in his snorkel - the waves were so high and he couldnt breathe. He was exhausted, getting farther from the boat as he tried to swim towards it, probably fighting a current. When someone needs help, especially in conditions like that, they should receive help IMMEDIATELY!!Finally Nick jumped in, brought him back as he held onto a rope. When I asked if he was ok, he said NO - he couldnt take a deep breath. The crew did nothing to check on him or assist him as he lay on the floor for the ride home. The second dive was cancelled. Why didnt they advise against going out in these conditions? Why werent life vests mandatory or even recommended? But most importantly, why relaxed response? Why didnt they hustle when someone yells Help! and could be in a dangerous situation? The response was SWIM?!? If he could swim, he would have. What if I was not there and hadnt insisted on their help?Their website says Your safety is our #1 Concern and staff is the best on the island and attentive service - What a joke!!!
Phenomenal experience from start to finish. I came to Key Largo to do my checkout dives for my open water diving certification. The instructor, Jeremy, was patient and calm and made me feel at ease when performing my skills. I am so glad I came down to KL and got my checkouts here with the professionalism and dedication that the instructors and crew possess in addition to a LOVE for the sport. Can’t wait to come back and dive with this op!
This is a tough review because as individuals, some of the crew members were pleasant to talk to. But I’ve never been on a dive boat where the crew did so little or had so little interaction with the divers. If you want a boat that goes from Point A to Point B and back then this is fine. But I guess I’ve been spoiled with dive boats that interact, have you do surface intervals between dives, get in the water to check conditions instead of guessing, shrugging and saying be careful, go to varied sites instead, provide water, etc.It wasn’t a horrible experience but when I compare them to all of the other dive boats, I would never go back. I am a chronic tipper and this is the first time I haven’t and many others in our dive party felt the same way. I don’t know if it’s the company approach or all of the crew but regardless, lots of other options in Key Largo.
I’m confused at all the good reviews, this was the worst experience I’ve had in years of diving. I signed up for a 2-tank dive trip and only discovered at the boat that I would not be part of a group and would not be following a divemaster / instructor - no one warned me neither on the phone (I spoke to them twice) nor during check-in. I was paired up with a random guy and we were expected to explore the reef on our own. In addition, I rented all the gear but they forgot to pack a wet suit and I forgot to remind them, so I ended up diving without a wet suit. I only did 1 tank because a) I got cold b) while my buddy and I did stick with a group doing a refresher on the same boat, eventually we lost them and had to get to the boat on our own. Finally, cherry on top, when I finally swam up to the boat on my own against the current and short of breath, the captain welcomed me with a sarcastic remark saying “that’s why you’re not supposed to go that far”. So instead of basic empathy, I got some good old mansplaining. The only person who seemed nice and understanding was Nick - thanks Nick!
From start to finish everyone was fantastic! I was feeling sea sick at the end and the crew helped so much with getting my gear off and getting me settled. Very kind people. Next time, scopolamine patch!
I called not too long ago to get some information on a few charters, and they were extremely rude. Not only were they rude, they didnt really provide the answers I was looking for. So I restated the question, and they mouthed off something under their breath. When I asked them to speak up and repeat their comment, they hung up on me. I tried to call back, but as soon as the phone was picked up they hung it up again. Extremely rude, and I cant believe people actually go to this business.
Was made aware of Sea Dwellers when another local dive shop recommended them after their boat break down and was unable to go diving at our scheduled day and time. I was able to get scheduled with Sea Dwellers for a dive the next day. I had done the Discover Scuba course (in the pool) with the other dive shop and Sea Dwellers was able to contact the other dive company and confirm that I was trained - avoiding having to take the in-pool course again. An hour before the boat left I showed up to get fitted, everyone was very friendly and helpful. At 1PM after taking role we departed for our two tank dives. Jeff was my instructor and he was very professional, friendly and just seemed like a guy you would want to get to know. The dives were fantastic! Jeff continued to check in with us newbies to make sure we were ok underwater and everything was good. Everyone on the boat was friendly and professional. Would definitely dive with Sea Dwellers again if given the opportunity.
Our family booked at a different dive shop in town. Showed up and they were packed... after waiting in line we were told they couldnt find our booking.. We decided to try Sea Dwellers and it was amazing... Wife and I are Open Water and we were getting our kids certified. The crew went out of their way to joke around with our teen students. Like another said: they were respectful and fun loving... Despite the fact that it was a little rough that day, their positive attitudes and commitment to make sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time made it fun.
We had a wonderful experience with Sea Dwellers. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. They took us to 2 great spot to snorkel. We were highly satisfied with our experience!
AVOID snorkeling experience with sea dwellers!! The only time when we saw fish was when I threw up because I was sea sick and the fish came to eat the vomit. To be more precise, avoid snorkeling if you go on diver boat. This was one of the worst experience, we were 3 snorkelers on a diver boat, went 50 min into the ocean in a deep place (at least 10 m) and after all the divers went into the ocean the captain told us to swim around the boat but not too far, we didn’t see anything, just a few fish. We came back to the boat, water was super choppy and became sea sick and threw up. We had to wait 4 hrs in this state to come to the shore. We called to explain that we were on the wrong boat, that there was a snorkeling specific boat in a shallower location and that it was not clear that we were on a non optimal boat. The staff was not helpful (had to call 10 times) and then they told me that they always take snorkelers there and we should have known that it was a diver boat. Never again!
Very professional service! We enjoyed our trip so much because of the great, friendly service and the small group size. You wont be disappointed if you choose Sea Dwellers.
Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Loved Molasses reef. Small sharks, barracuda and lobster seen. Great trip. Easy to book.
My daughter and I enjoyed diving with Sea Dwellers. The Captain and Crew were friendly and helpful.
Very professional staff. We used the skill of a guide for our first dive on this reef which was a good idea. Had great advise on where to dive on our own. Equiptment was in tip top shape. Would certainly dive with them again in the future.
The woman who answered the phone was VERY rude when needing to discuss refunding our scuba trip. Im not upset about the denial of the return, but the woman who answered the phone did not seem to care about the safety of new divers was completely unempathetic (after reading other reviews on this site, it seems to be a theme). Safety is so important for scuba diving and I would not trust this company. There are other scuba centers nearby, do yourself a favor and contact one of them.
Sea Dwellers is my favorite dive spot, when in Key Largo..Jeremy, is so so so awesome, Ill never deal with another charter again..Thank you Se Dwellers!
Great reef. They took us to Molasses reef and to another site. Stayed out about 2.5 hours. Great value. This would have been 5 stars except my 2nd snorkel was broken and I wasn’t aware until I was away from the boat. This was ok for me bc I can swim, but it did scare me a little. Some obstruction kept me from inhaling. Please check all gear available to divers.
Great crew and instructors. Happened to go when the water was really choppy and they all worked very hard to make the best of it.
People who complain about the wind really need to find a different hobby. The crew at Sea Dwellers was upfront about the conditions with us, and cancelled 2 trips due to wind!!! We rescheduled with them when it was safe and had a blast. They informed us about the semi-rough seas prior to leaving and gave us the option to go or not.Not sure what the last person is talking about but this is a great operation and we will be back!!! Great job!
We had a wonderful discover scuba course with Kelly. She was a fun, knowledgeable instructor and we loved diving with her. She made us feel so comfortable and at ease, and was great at pointing out all the fun things on the reef! We had a great time with Sea Dwellers and would absolutely dive with them again!
Knowledgeable and super friendly staff!! Loved our time with Jeff, Rob and Doug! Reef was beautiful and dive was awesome!! Would highly recommend Sea Dwellers!
We scheduled 4 two-tank dives for the 7 divers in my family with Sea Dwellers. This was our first time diving in Key Largo and they made sure we visited a variety of dive sites. We got to see sharks, turtles, rays, moray eels and a whole lot more. Kelly was especially helpful (and patient) with my youngest son, who is a new diver. Thanks for making our trip so special!
Nice crew but there was no coral to see, it was all dead? They should know this!Maybe there is none anymore?Just a swim in salt water basically.
The staff and crew were amazing, knowledgeable and super helpful! Will definitely dive with them again. Truly appreciated their level of service.
Awesome newly remodeled boat! Crew was great and friendly. They were honest about the conditions and are a cautious crew. Dont believe anyone saying otherwise.
Had such a great time! We were nervous at first however our captain and instructor were really awesome. Will be back for sure. Very safe dive operator. We went to Molasses Reef and saw turtles, eels, and reef sharks!
Reserved a Discover Scuba and a Snorkel day for myself and my BF. Amber and Kelly were great getting us checked in and answering questions. The crew was attentive (Cody and Jeremy) and the Captain was aware of everyones safety and location. The dive was at Molasses Reef, and we stopped at Spanish Anchor, the Aquarium, and one other place. I started feeling queasy...but the views were worth it! Saw Nemo fish, barracuda, blue fish, grey fish, beautiful tropical colors.Note: do not overexercise or drink the day before. Hydrate and take dramamine the night before.Have a great day!
Doug and Katie went out of their way to make our experience wonderful!!!
Good dive shop, I have been diving in Key Largo for a long time now, first time with them. Very friendly staff, old but spacious boat and we were lucky not too crowded.. well it looks like they do not over packed the boat anyway... To make it even better, we had an almost perfect weather ..
They were all so friendly and helpful. It couldnt have gone better. Everybody was so nice and patient and I had the time of my life with them. Would 100% recommend.
In July of 2020 we had our first snorkeling experience in the Florida Keys and we went out with Sea Dwellers Dive Center in Key Largo. From scheduling our trip to making reservations the staff at Sea Dwellers we’re extremely courteous & helpful to us novices. The dive trip out to Molasses Reef was a great trip even though the winds had kicked up and the seas were fairly rough. The extremely knowledgeable and friendly captain & his crew worked hard to provide us with a dive that was a very fun experience in spite of the water conditions but also went out of their way to ensure the dive was not only fun for everyone but they were also equally persistent in making sure the dive experience was also a safe dive for all on board. From Brian the owner down to the newest deckhand in the operation, they are all very friendly and helpful staff that make you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door. I’m planning to return to the Keys soon to get my SCUBA certification and it will be with Sea Dwellers Dive Center as I was so impressed with their operation that I really don’t need to shop around to find anyone better. Great bunch of people, great experience. 👍👍
Amazing experience with Sea dwellers, first time we rented wave runners and today we rented a boat. They are experienced, super helpful in all needs and concerns. No need to look elsewhere, everything you need to enjoy the keys by water you will find with them. Highly recommend⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I cannot say enough good things about Sea Dwellers Dive Shop. WORLD CLASS! I began my scuba diving adventures in 2014 with my open water certification at sea dwellers. The instruction was so humble, relaxed and detailed! They made me feel so comfortable and I have since come back every year and in 2019 I got my advanced open water certification through Sea Dwellers. I should add I haven’t been the most comfortable in the water throughout my life but this incredible business helped me see the water in a different way. Even back home I enjoy the water a lot more thanks to you Sea Dwellers. They are like family and I watch my calendar every year get closer and closer to the day I get to go again. Even though I live 2500 miles away, this dive shop is my home! Thank you for the countless memories and also thank you for the memories to come! Cheers! To the ocean and great people,StevenSan Diego, California
Very professional, friendly and relaxed diving experience. You made the whole experience what a vacation is all about.
My two teenaged kids and I planned a last minute dive with Sea Dwellers. We are just recently certified and this was an unguided charter. Matt as first mate and Capt Pete were very helpful to us getting gear sized and prepped for the dive. Very cleanly run operation; well organized with good safety explanations. Two tank morning dive had sightings of a shark, spotted eagle ray, lobster, Goliath grouper and lots of fish on the Molasses Reef.
To go Dive Boat in FL Keys. Great prices.Friendly, personable, hospitable, genuine staff, newly remodeled very comfortable dive boat with just the right amount of spots.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be using them again!
My first dive and I had a great experience with them! Kelly made me feel comfortable and helped me every step of the way, and gave me great feedback to help me improve! I would absolutely dive with them again.
These guys & Lady were amazing. COVID canceled our International travel. The Keys were a consolation trip & Seadwellers made it amazing. 5 members of my family went through the divers course. Matt showed patience & was so well spoken in his explanations. The boat crew was fabulous. Highly recommend them. They are amazing. Tip them well they deserve it!
The trip was not bad and crew members are nice . There was one issue .their website states it is 75$ per trip and I clearly heard 75$ per trip by phone as well. But they just charged me 85$ for the trip, one Of them just said I had to got two trips for discount. That was not right. I didn’t want to argue for that 10$ . I even tip some crews 20. Just because someone not honest in the shop . Kind of mass up and make me little upset after the trip.
I, my son, my wife, my friends and many others have been diving with Sea Dwellers since early 1990s (not a typo). I constantly recommend the to friends. There are now 3 generations of us diving with them. An awesome, professional and fun group - Mark Horbal
Make sure you communicate with the staff that run this place. Left NH on Friday. Drove to the Keys and Holiday Inn. Next day we checked in with the dive shop and they told us there wouldnt be any diving this week. We had 4 days of 2 tank dives scheduled. Not one person contacted me to tell me weather was a concern. No hurricanes were headed for Florida. Had someone contacted me before we left friday we could have rebooked. Instead we are out $3200 plus dollars because no one contacted me. Call ahead if you plan to dive with this outfit. Ill never call them or refer them. Communication sucked!
This place is very inadequate for proper scuba student training - especially for beginners. I was not comfortable during my first dive at sea. I wasnt properly trained and super nervous which our trainers dont take into consideration. Safety wasnt a priority.Worst of all, our driver failed to exercise caution concern for the safety of marine life. Our boat drove directly over the top of a sea turtle - which luckily dived at the last second before getting struck by the bow of the boat. This incident made me more nervous and worried for turtles - my favorite sea creature. . Turtles are at great risk when swimming.at sea because they have to surface to breathe.Driving the boat at slower speeds allows turtles to see us.coming and quickly dive down to avoid boat strikes. I wont give this place my business again. They just dont even meet minimal standards for safety or respecting the wild creatures. We are invading their home and should show them respect and kindness.
Came to FL to dive as other places in Caribbean closed to US flights. Sea dwellers accommodated us with great rates, professional crew, and a high emphasis on safety! As a Hyperbaric medicine physician who has been diving all over the world for 40 years I’d highly recommend them to divers of all experience levels! I’d come back and dive with them again anytime!
