Most amazing mattress shopping experience. True high quality mattresses. Lots of variety. Natural and sustainable materials and family owned and locally manufactured business model. They do not sell you what you don’t need, are honest and authentic, and over delivered regarding the timing of our mattress delivery. Also super excited to make our pillows there!! Also while we were there a couple from Arizona came to La Mesa specifically to buy their mattress from Mattress Makers they had heard such good things about the shop - a testament to the high quality all around.

Great service from beginning to end.Pablo is very knowledgeable. I went into mattress makers and will admit that all the mattresses were very comfortable. Even the firm ones. I could not decide. I was there for about an hour or so undecided trying all mattresses. Pablo was very patient. At the end I chose the king size mattress with zero gravity option, massage, adjustments, and floor lights. The mattress was projected to arrive in 6 weeks. To my surprise it arrived in 3 weeks. We are very happy with our queen size bed mattress purchase we made at Mattress Makers. We went to the La Mesa store, Pablo helped us out. He was very professional and took his time with all our questions informing us of the different mattresses and materials they are made of. We tried them out until we were sure that the mattress we chose was comfortable for both my husband and I, also happy to say that our purchase came with 2 pillows that are custom made to suit each of our needs, just not a pillow that is one type for all. We decided to pop in here randomly while walking around downtown La Mesa thinking about trying out some of the pillows. We had tried many pillows buying off of Amazon and havent been happy with any. Pablo greeted us and gave us the rundown on all of them different types of fills, common blends, what you should look for and it was really the most informative and useful pillow testing Ive had. We both ended up getting completely different pillows (mine a buckwheat latest blend, hers a kapok fill) and I was actually surprised they didnt cost more for being custom filled to how much we wanted and the specific blends. Very happy and would recommend, we will likely be looking here when we are shopping for our next mattress just from our experience with the pillows.

I highly recommend Mattress Makers. This is our second mattress purchase, now for a guest room. The company was easy to work with and we especially like that the mattresses are manufactured in Southern California. When we had a question about the mattress we were considering we spoke with a supervisor at the factory who was very helpful. They also make mattresses for hotels and we find the quality very good at a reasonable price. The delivery was easy, efficient and professional. Ii was very happy with the service at the LaMesa shop. The sales person, Daniel, was extremely helpful in explaining everything about the mattresses & the bases, the remote that controls the bases & made it very easy to make my decision on which one was right for me. He was very patient with me being indecisive until it finally made sense to me. It was a very good experience.

After moving into a much larger house, we needed beds for multiple rooms. Our experience at Mattress Makers was great. There was absolutely no sales pressure from Pablo, he did a great job helping us figure out what we wanted in mattresses and although he said supply issues were sometimes making deliveries take more than 3 weeks, it turns out we got all four mattresses we bought in 10 days. My chiropractor recommended Mattress Makers for a custom made pillow. They make/stuff the pillow right there. Multiple options of stuffing, sizes, etc... The entire process only took 10mins. The pillow is awesome, the perfect amount of support. It also comes with a five year warranty, so more stuffing can be added down the road. When I walked into Mattress Makers is La Mesa I was not expecting sure a pleasant experience. I was looking for a new mattress, but wasn’t expecting a mattress could be life changing.Here’s how it went. I was assisted by Pablo who answered every question about every different mattress in their store and the qualities of each. He was kind and attentive and wasn’t bothered at all by my questions and answered them in detail. He even informed my where latex comes from which I had no idea was a natural product that comes from sustainable trees like maple syrup does. I am so excited. I have found my dream Mattress. After months of backaches I finally decided enough was enough I needed a new Mattress. I marched myself in to their La Mesa store and was able to have Jose help me find my perfect fit. I was warned that it could take up to 8 weeks because of supply shortages but lo and behold from purchase to delivery was 2 weeks. The delivery was also seamless. They gave me a window of 1230 to 230 and they were there at 1230 on the dot! They even waited while I vacuumed under the bed! Because the Mattress is a natural material the off gassing was minimal. I have had 2 amazing nights on my new bed and looking forward to many more. Its a joy to wake up without pain or stiffness. Pedro was amazing talking us through all the options and making sure we were happy with what we bought. At half the price of on line custom full pillows with a 5 year guarantee and the ability to add or subtract filling as needed, my husband decided he needed one too. We are stunned at the great and quick service provided to us at Mattress Makers. We visited the showroom last Sunday and Daniel assisted us. I’d been researching mattress options for months and decided a hybrid latex was the way to go. Daniel was professional, answered all of my questions and we made our selection. Due to COVID latex was in short supply so we did not anticipate delivery for a number of weeks as all of the Mattress Maker mattresses are individually manufactured. This place is AMAZING! After doing tons of research and checking out mattresses at many other stores--Mattress Firm Mission Valley, Avocado La Jolla, Casper UTC, Ortho Mattress--I finally stumbled across this gem. I knew I wanted latex because I wanted to be eco friendly, didnt want all those stinky memory foam chemicals in my room, and wanted longevity. I was consistently greeted by the most genuinely kind and honest people--I went a few times. Whats more is their mattresses were more comfortable and supportive than the comparable hybrid or full latex Avocado. Right off the bat the prices were better. Plus they have this cool customizable pillow station. I was sold before they even gave me such a generous discount! Who wouldnt rather support a local, family owned business? On top of everything, because I live so close, they delivered the mattress for free and set up my new adjustable base. Who does that? I literally told them that I understand they are a business and need to make a living. They insisted! Dont expect this lol. I guess I got lucky because I live so close. But if you are going to get a Mattress, and you want a really good one with the best warranty, and you want to support a small local business, then GO TO MATRESS MAKERS!!!

Love this store. All the employees are so friendly and easy to talk to. This is the second mattress we have bought from here (Cal-King Kensington Plush). The first one was a memory foam plush for my daughter. We also purchased 2 pillows, a foam and a latex. Hopefully, this mattress will be the perfect match for our backs. Pablo was great to work with. Every person we met in store or talked to on the phone, or met upon delivery was incredibly helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. We bought our daughter’s mattress there and loved it so much, we returned a year later to replace our own king mattress. The store owners and sales staff are very friendly and helpful. They take the time to explain the different products offered to ensure that the customer gets a mattress which best meets their needs. Additionally, their products are high quality and made in California. We are repeat customers because of these qualities.Ordinarily, I would rate the company at five stars for their quality products and staff. However, I rated it lower because the delivery personnel both arrived and installed our new bed without wearing protective masks. During this serious COVID-19 pandemic where San Diego County has a high number of cases, I feel that it’s important for delivery personnel to be cognizant of the situation and ensure they wear masks when entering a customer’s house as we were told they would. Finally, the delivery guys almost drove off without removing the old mattress and we had to flag them down to remind them to do so.

Such an awesome and inviting place! Bought a custom down pillow a couple years back and just took it in to put more down in. They refluffed and filled and now I have a better dialed in pillow. The gentlemen we worked with at the store created a very casual and comfortable atmosphere for us to shop. They gave us plenty of time to sit and lay on just about every bed in the store while they sat at their desks. We asked questions and they were answered without a sales pitch for either the least or most expensive bed or frame. We were also there a couple of times. They greeted us warmlly each time. We had a great experience buying a mattress here. Pablo was super patient, friendly and knowledgeable. They even hooked us up with their labor day sale price even though the sale doesnt officially start until next week. Check out the website first to get an idea of the products and pricing but I definitely recommend coming in to the store to try before you buy.We got pillows from their awesome custom machine and they even let our kids operate the machine a little. Theres also a kids play area in back with a Super Nintendo, a play kitchen and a few other toys.They are open during COVID craziness and their hours are currently Monday- Friday from 10 am - 6 pm and Saturday 10 am - 5 pm.

I knew it was time to purchase a new mattress, but it really wasn’t in my budget. Lucky for me, my boyfriend ended up moving in and brought his newly purchased Cal. King mattress from Mattress Makers with him! I couldn’t be more satisfied with it! I have a wonderful nights sleep, feel supported yet cozy, and can’t feel the bed move when my boyfriend moves around. I highly recommend these them!

I came in because I wanted new pillows and my hubby and I want different types. In September they made me a mattress for my RV and we love it. We were equally impressed with our new pillows!!!! Pablo had sample pillows we used to gauge what material and how much of it we both wanted. It was super easy and he made my six pound latex filled pillow and husbands 3.5 pound goose down pillow while we waited. Total custom experience, both our new mattress and new pillows are truly custom and made by super nice and fun people. This is a great addition to the neighborhood!!!!

Matters makers is so much more than a mattress store. We purchased a new mattress several months ago. Pablo recommended we wait to get our personalized pillows until we had slept on our new bed for awhile. Yesterday Pablo at the La Mesa Mattress location listened to the specifics of what we wanted in the pillows and made the perfect pillow-combining feathers and latex. Pablo is a miracle worker and pillow making savant.

Full disclosure: My wife and I have owned and loved our Tempurpedic for 10 years now. When we recently moved, we finally had room to upgrade to a kingsize bed. We gave our queen to our daughter. When it came time to buy a mattress, we were planning on going with Tempurpedic again. However, we know the guys at Mattress Makers and decided to at least check it out. (I was hesitant because I didnt want any hard feelings if we decided to not buy from them). Without question, we found the Mattress Maker mattresses to be EVEN BETTER than our Tempurpedic. And what is incredible, MM had Tempurpedic beat on price by at least 25%.Daniel, our sales rep, walked us through the material, the suppliers, and the environmental-benefits of MM products. He let me try all of the mattresses, and was extremely patient and accommodating. The process from sales to delivery was top notch. Jordan and Daniel, our delivery guys were the nicest, and so respectful.Finally, we also fell in love with their custom-made memory foam pillows... (5lbs king) we loved ours so much that we bought a second set of them.With our previous mattress, I was sleeping about 80% on my side, 10% on my back, and recently 10% on my stomach... but this mattress is so incredibly comfortable and supportive that I am legitimately sleeping 90% on my back and 10% on my side, which is crazy to me!We love Mattress Makers! My husband and I really enjoyed our first time at Mattress Makers in La Mesa. All the staff were attentive and friendly. They are even pet friendly which is a plus! I decided to see about purchasing a pillow since I have trouble sleeping due to constant neck and shoulder pain. Pablo was extremely helpful at finding the right pillow fit for me. I used my pillow for the first time last night and it was great! We would highly recommend Mattress Makers for your pillow and mattress needs!

My wife and I visited Mattress Makers in the midst of all the Friday Farmers Market festivities. We met Christian Fowler together with his boss Sam. We came to check out the store on the fervent recommendation of our Neighborhood El Cerrito.We were not disappointed. They were very welcoming and served us coffee and sat down to chat with us about our preferences. They were patient and kind and answered our many questions. Because it was a major expenditure for us retired seniors, they were very respectful and left us alone to discuss our possibilities a number of times. I found Mattress Makers by googling double sided beds and found that they were the only mattress company still making them. I had no idea that the newer mattresses were being manufactured as one sided.... the one I had purchased from a competitor had developed dips on both sides and my husband and I were experiencing severe back pains. We visited the La Mesa store, where Cristian helped us. He was extremely courteous, polite and funny. Our mattress was delivered about a week later and the delivery guys were also very polite and professional. Were sleeping soooooooo comfortably now and our pain is gone! Thank you Mattress Makers for providing traditional beds, you are my go to and I highly recommend them!!!

After shopping around for months and dealing with a few unpleasant experiences with salespeople, we stumbled upon the Mattress Makers store in La Mesa. These guys are the real deal. Our experience from start to finish was exemplary. The lovely showroom in La Mesa is wonderful for trying out the mattresses and finding your best fit. Pablo was very informative and no pressure sales, thank you! The delivery was accomplished in less than 15 minutes and that included removing our old mattresses. The guys were true gentlemen and made the experience perfect. We are planning to replace our sons mattress soon, and there is no other place for us! We will be back Mattress Makers!

My husband had been researching the benefits of latex mattresses to replace our saggy 5 yr old memory foam, and happened across the Mattress Makers showroom in La Mesa. Excellent customer service, displays and products - we are so pleased with the entire experience and my husband and I are thoroughly enjoying our Firm Latex Mattress. Quick turn around (delivered within 2 weeks of order), and delivery was a snap - they even removed our old mattress. Their latex pillows have also outperformed our memory foam ones for comfort, support and coolness through the night. We also find the latex mattress “breathes” well and doesn’t trap heat, with an extra bonus of natural materials vice the chemicals in memory foam. Would recommend the company and product in a heartbeat - bravo!!!
