Been shopping here for 20 years and never had a bad experience! My family had bought a sax, a trumpet, and a clarinet from here and all were fantastic!

Absolutely Amazing Staff!! Perfect for all students from beginning to advanced! Prices are lower than anywhere else!! Mr. McCrea and all of the teacher are extremely knowledgeable and excellent at what they do. I would recommend going here for lessons and rentals or even for questions about anything to do with music!!

This is the real deal, musicians running a business. As such youre gonna get some good along with some bad. theyre not very organized but they love music and they love teaching music. So I guess my real question is do you want your child being taught music by a musician or an accountant?

Service is outstanding. First time there. Rented a saxophone for my daughter. They were very patient in explaining the process and offer free classes. My daughter was very happy to take the first class on the spot while they looked for an available sax. Meanwhile the twins wanted to play the drums and they were invited to play the drum set while big sister finished her class. Needless to say, they start their classes this weekend 😂.

Family owned business and you can feel it. Gentry and Lori are so welcoming, they really work with our family to make lessons happen. My daughter has been playing the cello with Ralph as her teacher for over 2 years, and she truly loves him. Ralph has her playing most of the time so it is that hands on learning not just auditory, which I really appreciate. My other daughter started playing and they have the first 5 lessons for free. Cant say enough great things about this place!

My kids go here for piano lessons and weve had a good experience. Weve been doing the lessons for 2 years. Theyre pretty disorganized, bordering on hoarders and Gentry is forgetful, but I like them and theyre friendly/chatty. The instructor my kids see is nice and gentle and positive and Ive seen nice progression in their skills.

Excellent music lessons. High quality instrument repair on my cello. No problems whatsoever with billing/accounting. I have empathy for anyone who has had billing issues but it appears that they have revised their system and taken the bugs out.

Horrible experience. I would never go there again and would not recommend it to anyone. Read all reviews carefully

McCrea Music is great - it has been around for over 30 years. They have provided instruments to my children and grand children.Yes they may be slow but hey Mr. McCrea is 88 years old. He and his family have devoted their time and money to helping children play music.We all know how much that increases test scores in math and science.Free lessons are a plus.

Wow - cant believe im writing this review. stopped in to rent a guitar for a few days. spoke to the Mccreas - and they seemed like such a nice couple. unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. rental was very reasonable - beyond reasonable - $10 - and they put a $250 charge as a hold for the guitar. however, though i returned the instrument on time - they did not refund the $250. just amazed that people can look you in the eye - and appear to be upstanding - when they are basically thieves. i guess this is the way they earn their money. put in a dispute - and will def end up in my favor - so theyre not getting away with anything - but be aware that this isnt the place it looks like.

My mom bought a bass from McCrea for $3000 retail. A few years later we found out (from a reputable dealer) that the Bass was made in China and was finished (just stained) in the US and sold at a premium by McCrea. They have been ripping people off for years we paid $3000.00 for an instrument that was worth $100.00. Be very careful if you buy a McCrea brand instrument it is most likely a chineese knock off of a name brand.

I got my daughters cello here. They are a bit unorganized but they do have great customer service. This store will upgrade your instrument to a bigger one for no charge if you buy from them. Im a satisfied customer :)

It may be cheaper, but the people who work there, especially the main guy, are so oblivious to whats going on around them. He completely disregards people when theyre asking him anything and he cant focus on a simple task at hand. They are super unorganized overall. Take your money somewhere else, itll be worth it. No thank you.

Dont go here. Gentry will rip you off and youll spend the next year if your life trying to get your money back. And chances are youll never get it back.Go to Alans music Center down the street. Much more professional.

These folks rip you off. The refundable deposit was never refunded and i just got the runaround from Gentry whenever I tried to get my money back. He always blamed the accountant and never followed up with me as he said he would. I found this business to be very dishonest and unethical. The lessons were good, but I would strongly suggest going elsewhere.

They rip you off. you sign a rental agreement and the say will deduct a certain amount a month and then do it two times per month, and say they thought you wanted the buy back programOne time I forgave, the second time I will proceed with legal action.these guys are crooks!
