UPDATE: The Store Manager, Ken has been in contact with my Husband and the issue has since been resolved. Ken was prompt and professional in dealing with our concerns.This morning my husband brought my Camry in for an appointment to have the oil changed and tires rotated. During the appointment, their employee Brian informed my husband that he had backed into another vehicle, causing damage to my Camrys bumper. They were able to pop the dent back out, but suggested it would need to be repaired at another body shop and provided our oil change at no cost.This afternoon my husband called to follow-up for Tuffys insurance information so that we may have our vehicle repaired and were told he would receive a call back, in which we are still waiting. Very disappointing visit considering they also provided an estimate for $3,000 worth of maintenance they suggested my vehicle already needs...

No e-brake and charged a lot of money. Unable to park on an incline not going to rely on my transmission. These guys should have waited and put an e-brake on the car for their job to be valued complete and safe.

I showed up at 10 for my appointment. The person at the desk greeted me immediately and was very nice. A short while later, one of the mechanics ( I assumed) came out with the standard maintenance list that they checked. He recommended one service, which I declined. He was very nice as well. The price was $20 less than Ive been paying at a different local mechanic and I was on my way by 10:35. The place was very clean and smelled good! Will definitely be back.

I had my truck towed over Tuffys to fix an issue with my starter. They were honest, straight forward and great at communicating. I even got it fixed the same day! Went in just for a oil change and they came back with a list of stuff that said needed to be don’t to a car with a brand new transmission and new coolant lines just put in! I told them I do most of the work myself so I know what is wrong and not with the car I just didn’t have time to do a oil change! Well after a hour of them doing a oil change which is a really long time I finally got the car back, turns out my coolant leaked all over my driveway after all that!! Went to take a look and the guys at this place unscrewed a hose clamp so my coolant would leak and my car would need more repairs ! Watch out at this place! Never going back again!

Dishonest crooks. Charge $250 for a $70 part. Cant do an alignment. Charge for more hours than the work took to do. Im down $400!!! Over what another shop quoted after the emergency.These Crooks exploited me, I had an emergency during the pandemic and they used that opportunity to steal $400 from me. Avoid at all costs!

I needed to get my wheel cut off of the car because my home mechanic work led to a seized lug nut with no chance of removal. They got me in quick, got the work done fast, and gave me no surprise charges. I would highly recommend them again.

My car was starting and running very loudly, and my preliminary diagnosis was that it at least needed a new muffler. Due to cost, I dont recommend the dealership for this kind of repair, so I agonized where to take it, not knowing whom else to trust. Based on the latest reviews for this location, specifically mentioning new, improved ownership, and the proximity to my home, I decided to give Tuffy a try.My first contact over the phone with Jake was great. He was very friendly and professional, and I was able to make an appointment for the following morning.Tuffy conducted a free inspection of the exhaust system, and Jake physically showed me the problems and made repair recommendations. The estimate provided also gave me two repair options.As promised, Jake called me to confirm that Tuffy would be able to complete the repair in time for me to make another appointment later in the day. Poor customer service from Ron. I called today to schedule my 3rd oil change from my Group On certificate, and I was denied service because I didnt bring the original car I brought in the first time. I explained to him, that I lost that car in a car accident, and he still got defensive and sarcastic of the situation. Lost my business.

I used to go to Wal-Mart for my oil changes, until they stripped my drain plug . They sent me to Tuffy to get it fixed. Now I use Tuffy when I dont have time to do it myself. Nice friendly people and I trust they do it right.

I took my car in for some routine maintenance and to have the staff look at an oil leak that I had. The staff was great at explaining where the leak came from, cost break downs and everything else. It was towards the end of the work day and with the job time quoted, I was worried Id have to bring my car back later.They assured me they would stay until the job was done. They gave me a ride home and even offered to pick me up since I told them I wouldnt have a ride back.They got my car back up and running in the time they said they would and as stated before, picked me up to get my car which not too many shops I know of offer that kind of service.The owner was super personable and the staff that I dealt with directly were very kind and knowledgeable.I will definitely return here for any future service needed on my car.

Friendly and helpful; but $120 per hour seems quite steep. Thought it would be cheaper than our local dealer. if it cost that much for the 2 yr warranty maybe there should be a price without a 2 yr warranty offered.

I paid $214.15 Invoice # 11913 ? $15.00 what shop supplies???? to to have a CV shaft installed, I returned twice to complain about a odd noises and got of variety of excuses what it could be, but received no offer to inspect or review their work. After 6 months the wheel bearing went bad, They wanted $500.00 to replace it. I did it myself, when I removed the hub nut it was not torqued to spec. It should have been tightened to136 Ft Lbs it was way off barely negligible. I used a torgue wrench to remove it didnt even move the indicator. To enlighten you it was1997 Subaru legacy. but the damage was done. How are you going to fix your negligence???

Got a $15.99 coupon from them in an email for an oil change and a tire rotation that expired 9/12/15. I called to make an appointment that day. When I asked the person who answered the phone if I could make an appointment for that same day he said sure...2 seconds into our conversation I tell him that I wasnt sure if he needed to know now or when I went in that I had that coupon. Right away his demeanor changed and told me that the coupon had already expired. I was polite and said but it expires today, am I not able to use it today?...to which he had to answer well yes, you could. BUT we dont have appointments anymore. I was shocked given he had just told me I could make an appointment for that same day. I asked him So, NOW you dont have an appointment? All of a sudden!? And he said yes, but that I could drop off the car and and if he had time he would service it. IF he had time!? So was I supposed to drop off my car all day and just wait and see?! I told him no thanks and took my car elsewhere. This is BY FAR the worst experience Ive ever had trying to get an oil change. If you send out a coupon, dont be mad people want to use it, and dont make them last on your waiting list just because you want then to pay full price.

Like I told you on the phone when you called me. I Went to a place down the road right after I left your place, they didnt have a problem doing the job. 2 bolts needed to be tightened up that was it. It didnt need the what was it 400 a side in parts I had already replaced less than a year ago

Beware of deceptive business practices. Brought in a $19.99 coupon for oil change and tire rotation but was charged $38 due to the uniqueness of my common place Camry. Then to add insult to injury I later found that the rotation was not done. When I call them the next day the explanation was that they did not feel the rotation was necessary even though they did not mention it at the time.

I normally take my vehicle here for routine maintenance/repair service. And they have always been great. I recently had to go back to the dealer for repair work under factory warranty. My car was there for 2 1/2 days thats with a appointment made 2 weeks before. Just comparing LITH tuffys to the dealer, I felt pushed through at the dealer with no personalization as a customer. When I go to LITH Tuffys I feel like they give me information on my car, what is wrong along with what is still in good condition. Dealing with them makes me feel like Im dealing with family. Do not take your car here. My husband went in and they replaced the battery. My husband was o. His way back to tuffys bc the battery light went on and that wasn’t suppose to happen. He could tell that something wasn’t right and that they installed it properly. The car died in the middle of the road on his way there and someone hit him and ran off. He called to complain and could t do anything about it even tho it was their fault. Just told him he needed to pay more money for more fixing. Are you kidding me?! My husband almost got killed bc they could t do a proper installation of a damn battery. Do not I repeat do not take your car here. Nope it was over there it’s just under my husbands name which is Andy Smith.

I have been going to Tuffy for years . Loved the owner Shah. Unfortunately that has changed greatly lately. I brought my sons car for an oil change and two bulb replacemets. $100 later I was told I needed an Engine degreaser- they tell you that you need an engine degreaser EVERY time you come in so I just ignore that. They also said i needed my front tie rods replaced and the wheel alignment that comes with it. I am a widow and know nothing about cars but want to make sure my son is safe so I agreed to it. The cost- $522, $50 a tie rod, $80 for the alignment and $330 in labor. Beware, they charge $110 an hour for labor. Said it would take 3 hours to replace the rods. I went to a real mechanic because this didnt seem right. Guess what? My tie rods do not even need replacing. Be very wary of their practices. I will never go there again .RON- I TRIED TO CALL THE NUMBER YOU GAVE ME TO TALK TO YOU DIRECTLY. UNFORTUNATELY, KEN ANSWERED THE PHONE. IT IS JSUT THE NUMBER TO THE STORE. I DONT WANT TO TALK TO KEN. IF YOU CAN TELL ME A TIME YOU WILL BE IN THE STORE, I WILL DO MY BEST TO CALL THEN.

I was here and wanted to wright a review. I had my brakes checked and a oil change. It was a holiday weekend so i figured it was going to be busy. Well these gentlemen got me in and out fast. They were so informative on the maintenance schedule for my car. They even took me out in the shop and showed me my brakes. They explained to me about the condition and assured me that all was well with them. They also noticed some unusual wear on my front tires and explained how worn shocks could cause this,but they did not try and oversell the service to me. They did a quote for the job and explained that i can have this done at a later date to have that done. I felt like this was my own personal mechanic. I met the new owner Ron, he was a pleasent man to talk to. He has just bought the buisness about a month ago. This explains all of the bad reviews that i seen before than. Thank goodness for another good buisness in Lake in the Hills. I will recomend this shop to all my friends. I give them 5 stars. Adding on now in 2017 started taking all 6 of my family cars to them. I even trust them with my show cars. September 2020 update. Been back at this location many times for my vehicle always have great service. I started reading some of the reviews that people are making. It seems like if someone doesnt get their way they want to bash a company. Seems like theres too many people in this world that think just because they think it should be there way that everybody has to been to them. All I can say is to Future customers do your due diligence and look at a lot of the positive reviews. Rude and unhelpful staff. Prices are ridiculous and the time it takes to complete a task is unheard of.

They were unable to work on our car bc its a large vehicle and the guy had no clue how heavy their lifts could handle.
