Anytime I come to Lakeside Village or am in the vicinity I always make a stop at Rocket Fizz and get a soda. There is a mind-glowingly wide selection of not only root beers and cokes, but literally any kind of soda you can imagine. And I really do mean ANY kind- they even have crazy flavors like grass soda, corn soda, and bacon soda! There is so much to look at, you can walk around the stores several times and find something new with each lap. So many funny candies I never knew existed. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because they are definitely on the pricier side. Some of the popular candies there are a few dollars more than if you got them at a nearby grocery or convenience store. But, I do understand they have a lot of candies and drinks you cannot find at a normal grocery store, so they are probably allowed to charge a little more for some of those things. Either way I’m going to keep coming back and trying more of their fun sodas! (But probably not the grass one anytime soon) P.S if you are looking for the best root beer/ soda ever, I HIGHLY recommend the butterscotch root beer from the “Dang! that’s Good” brand, pictured below. Prepare to have your taste buds dazzled.

I was instantly 50 years younger. Bought all my favorite candies I loved as a kid. What a great place.

My 7 year old had gotten money from the tooth fairy and bugged me to take her to this store to buy a giant lollipop with her money. We purchased a colorful $8.99 lollipop and went straight home. We opened it immediately and it fell apart. I called the store and the young girl said she will not give us another one. The young girl said that she would try to contact the owner and give her my number. I DOUBT I am the first person this has happened to. My little girl is heart broken and cried as soon as we opened it. I literally purchased this 30 minutes ago.

Walked in here and grabbed a bunch of candy to buy. Suddenly a tall skinny dude shows up with his mask on wrong around his neck under this nose and mouth. This dude comes in and stands behind the register. And then the girl who works at Rocket Fizz with the pastel hair decided to pull her mask down too. So now they are both not wearing their masks behind the register. Very hypocritical and unsafe since there is actually a pandemic happening and there are signs on the door before you enter asking you to properly wear a face mask. So I dumped all the candy in a basket and left.Fun note: there were about 6 other customers in the store. All properly wearing their masks. Only the employees decided to break the rules.

We were there the other day with our daughter and her family and we thought it was great. We will be back. The taffy is off the chain.

Very nice drinks and snacks the staff seemed to be busy on there phones instead of looking around and assisting customers but overall its a worthwhile stop for your sweet tooth.

We really liked the store and all of the nostalgia was really great, especially with all the old candies from our era which is the 90s. There was a unique assortment of flavored sodas, like pickle flavored, key lime pie, hot wing sauce etc. Honestly the store itself was great but the prices were just way to high on most of the products imo. Thats not at all to say that we didnt buy anything, the store was clean, well maintained and the staff was friendly. Even though the prices were high, again imo, the experience and the friendly staff, were enough to get me us to open up and spend a few bucks. Great experience

A little pricey, but when youre craving something you cant find elsewhere, youll gladly pay.They have a selction of individually wrapped candies that are pay by the pound, but do not offer open bins of unwrapped choices like the conventional candy stores you may used to.

I work here and have worked here since the very beginning. This store is pretty much my life, I care about the candy, the soda, the products and the customers. We are a small franchise store, yes things are a bit pricey but that is because we can’t afford to purchase 1,000 reeses like walmart and pay pennies on the dollar; some of our candy and sodas are imported which cost more but they are worth it! Overall please come in and see for yourself :) some of the reviews I see on here hurts my heart because this store is practically my baby and I have so many repeat customers that I love. If you ever want to stop in, I’m normally the girl with the colorful hair and I can give you any information on candy, soda, and products that you ask and help you find anything you are looking for because it can be overwhelming with all the choices. This store has a ton of very interesting and unique candies, bottled soda pop, and retro toys and decorations for sale. The sodas can range from delicious to awful. I recommend reading the ingredients to see if theyve inserted something really weird. Once we got a cola with coriander in it! Must be an acquired taste. Many of the candies are familiar, but about half of them Ive never heard of. Some can be very expensive! The cost is why Ive only given this store 3 stars. If you went in here and filled a plastic shopping bag with your favorite stuff without looking at the prices, you will easily pass $100. I saw an unusual 6 oz. box of candy going for $8.99! If money is no concern for you and you have a sweet tooth hankering for some unusual goodies, this is the place for you.

This amazing old-time soda shop hidden in Lakeside Village Shopping Center has the BEST selection of Soda Pop Bottles in all of Polk County.If you like Soda, then you must visit and build your own 6-pack of anything you like best. Pure Cane sugar sodas are so refreshing.They also carry a selection of specialty candies and tin posters of every sort. Coca Cola, Rock Bands, and Funny Sayings.ITs worth the trip, though it can get a little pricey; but the quality of the drinks you get is TOTALLY worth the extra cents.

Lots of weird and normal candies... odd soda flavors... of course we had to try one just for the novelty. The employees are nice and helpful. They seemed happy to give their recommendations. Its a fun little shop.

It may be known better as a candy shop, but they have hundreds of different soft drinks. Prices are a bit steep & some of the soft drinks I can get elsewhere for half the price, but it would probably be very difficult to find as wide a selection anywhere else.

Very neat little place would totally recommend to anyone who likes sweets or fancy out of the ordinary sodas. My favorite soda 7-11 use to sell was the Jones Green apple and this store usually has them and that alone makes me love this store

You can find almost any kind of candy in this store. Including some you cant get anywhere else.

Very colorful. Lots of different flavored sodas and candies. But very expensive for candy you can buy at other stores. There doesnt seem to be any reason for the layout and it felt jumbled.
