As a woman, I have often had difficulty when shopping for contractors. Many dont like to be questioned at all, and most dont want to have to give complete details of how they will execute the job from start to finish. Some waste your time by promising an estimate and then mysteriously vanishing. Worse yet, once hired, some subcontract out the work, so when the actual worker shows up, he knows none of the details you thought you had painstakingly worked out with the person you thought you had hired.I hired Johnsons Gate Openers because Mr. Johnson done everything he said he would do. The installers, Mr.Johnson himself and his employ Mariano, were polite and professional (and legal Lol.) My husband and I now have a gate that looks and works great !! and we couldnt be happier with it.Considering the delays we did have with material and lack of workers available due to covid19 we wholeheartedly understand the world we live in today and recommend Johnsons Gate Openers without reservation.

Johnsons Gate Openers office personnel was amazing !!! We originally had another company install the gate, and we had a really bad experience. The original company took months and months to install the gate and never showed up when they said they would. When we finally got the gate installed, the post was leaning and the gate did not close properly. I reached out to Johnsons Gate Openers on a Tuesday to look at my issue and quote me on an opener. They arrived on that Friday to assess the issue! ALBERT WAS AMAZING! He told us everything that was wrong with the gate within 5 minutes. He gave us a quote and scheduled to come out the following week to repair the gate and install a gate opener. The following week he called to tell us he was on the way and arrived right on schedule. Albert fixed the gate and installed the opener within the same day, and it looks fantastic! It was such a relief to not have to chase people to perform a service. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. IMPECCABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

From the very first call everyone was so very helpful. It was so refreshing to have a company that was so helpful and easy to do business with in the middle of such a challenging time between pandemics and material shortages caused us a delay but we 100% understand. You will NEVER find better quality and service than Johnsons Gate Openers owners and staff. As a single senior woman they have serviced and comforted my every little whim regarding my gate. They are truly supportive and stand behind their work. They DO NOT install and haul, they are ever ready to respond to any concerns or questions major or minor. Any small issues that I have had have been my own doing. They are great!

(First off due to the covid virus it did take a little extra time to get material to do the job but I do100% understand how manufactures are struggling right now) Albert Johnson and his team act how a GREAT small local business should act ...... prompt responses, honest prices, great service!! This company is truly outstanding. Their work is timely even in these crazy times of covid, the staff are friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. In addition, the rates are fantastic. I’ve used them several times with our business gate and residence gate. We have always been extremely happy. I don’t leave reviews often, but these guys deserve it.

I collected pricing quotes from all the big name fence and gate installers as well as a few small businesses like Johnsons Gate Openers before we decided to bite the bullet on an automatic gate. Not only did Albert give us a very competitive quote the product brand he used was top quality !! He was the most willing to listen to everything we needed first in order to give us the most accurate quote he could. All others gave us a huge window of cost we COULD incur with the upper end being way out of our budget. I understand why that is, but being a small business ourselves, this just wasnt doable. Albert helped us find solutions to installing on our challenging terrain, coordinated well with other contractors needed to dig and build a wall and helped problem solve any unforeseen issues as business needs arose. Problem solving is definitely one of his strengths. The custom gate system Albert developed for us works flawlessly we are very happy. (It did take 6 weeks for the job to be completed but we do understand availability of products etc... can be hard during the covid19 times)

Before I go into the details I would like to say Thank You to Albert and his team. They did an outstanding job with our new security gate opener. I live in a gated community with a broken gate and have been trying to replace the security gate opener for some time. With other quotes from board members I felt we could do better. So when I found Johnsons Gate Openers the reviews were outstanding and I was questioning can they be that good ? From my first meeting with Albert to the final installation day of the job, I was sold on him and his team. They did an outstanding job. He was very patient and answered all our questions and was very flexible with scheduling our installation. Even with a small surprise we had he was very good in explaining it and was very accommodating in getting it done and finishing the job as promised. He was very busy and did take a short time to contact us but I do understand. He is definitely 5 out of 5 stars and I would highly recommend him and his team for your gate and opener.

My husband and I had the owner “Albert” install a double gate opener last month. Couldn’t be happier. We had a accident happen with the gate 2 days after the new install causing a malfunction with the opener. This accident was caused by my husband. Albert came back and corrected the problem without charging me. Customer service like that is hard to find now days. We would highly recommend Johnson’s Gate Openers 👍

Seems like a good company when we started to work with them after the gate was installed trying to get a hold of them was a miserable experience. Had to drive to their office numerous times just to get face-to-face with them it’s been almost a year now and I am still having multiple issues with the gate opening and closing and not working properly. If and when you can get a hold of them they seem to always be out of town or out on their boat and act like you’re pulling their teeth or bothering them. I would not recommend this company for anybody that is looking for someone that has good communication skills and follows up on the work that they do. I even explained to them twice that my gates are stuck in an open position and I had a package stolen off of my doorstep and they still don’t seem to care or want to respond

They were not our first choice for the repair of our existing electric gate; only because i didnt really know who to call. but they are the only one i would recommend now.within five minutes albert (the owner) had the system up and running again. a loose wire was basically all it was. (the first company i called wanted $800 after only seeing it from a camera phone chat. not kidding at all. wow!)albert is a true professional with a kindly spirit.howard

He did a really good job, diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. Albert is nice, courteous and just an all around good guy. We would not hesitate to call them again.

Hi ...April 14 2021 ...i was trying to open my gate and i have been having trouble with my gate for a while and Albert Johnson pulled up by my driveway and spent a hour with me trying to get my gate back going again and he kept saying no charge i just want to help you .....what a kind thing to do in todays time ...Thank You

This company is unreliable, they do not return calls, you cant leave messages because their voicemail is full ALWAYS and they do not stand behind their work. The new gate stopped working shortly after installation, and they would not return a call about it. We had to find a totally new company that would come out to fix the problem. We were told that Johnsons Gate Openers had not only installed an OLD battery for the new gate, but they put the solar panel under the trees where it could not get light. Having to pay another company to clean up Johnsons mess did not make us happy!

We contacted Johnsons Gate Openers and the owner was able to quote us the same day per a email without even having to visit our property. We received a very fair and accurate quote that we thought would meet our needs very well. After asking the owner Albert several questions over a few days we decided to use them to install and maintain 2 additional new electric gate entrances to our farm. The reason we switched to them was we struggled with several other gate companies that were unreliable, rude and frustrating to work with. Johnsons Gate Openers installed much higher quality products which continue to serve us well every day.

After looking at several companies online over several hours and telephone calls, Johnsons Gate Openers were by far the most informative and helpful without the hard sale.I mentioned to them they had a few bad reviews and was reassured the honest reasons why, and I have got to say they kept to their word.1. The gate and gate opener were exactly as described and what I wanted.2. The owner was very nice.3. Installation was as I was told, and placed where I requested.4. A little late on the install date but I understand when everything is custom made to fit.If I had any criticism about companies I would speak up, but in this case a 100% recommendation.

I loved that Albert was interested in providing the best fence for our needs. He wasnt interested in selling me the most expensive electric gate but the best one for me. Johnsons Gate Openers installed my gate 2/7/2018. Approximately 6 months later the gate was sagging badly and the post which Albert Johnson installed was no longer level.On 8/3/2018 I notified the owners wife who apparently takes care customer service. I explained the problem and indicated I felt this should fall under warranty due to the short amount of time since the install. She said she would check with Albert but possibly there would be a $175 service charge. I called again on 8/6/2018 @ 9:04 AM and was told by the wife that this would not fall under warranty as the problem was caused due to heavy rainfall which they can’t control. She suggested I have my husband put some concrete around the post to correct the problem. I called back again 8/6/2018 @ 1:20 PM and left a voice message advising I wanted a refund of the $400 gate installation charge since they were unwilling to warranty the problem I felt they created. I feel there was not enough concrete used when the post was installed and the gate was hung on the post before it had enough time to set properly. I indicated if we could not resolve this issue I would file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.Other residential gates that were installed in my area around the same timeframe are not experiencing sagging so I don’t buy the heavy rainfall excuse. I asked for a return call but did not receive any. I called again 8/8/2018 but no answer. As of today, I will be filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Since Johnsons Gate Openers couldn’t do the job correctly the first time I do not want them back. I simply want the $400 they charged me so I can hire a reputable company that is capable of fixing the sagging gate.

I was able to work with the owner Albert Johnson personally every step of the way. Albert is very knowledgeable and professional he is very easy to work with and took the time to explain how the gate would work in detail. I highly recommend Johnsons Gate Openers if you are looking for a driveway gate and opener done right. Dont settle for a cheaper alternatives.

Too hard to get ahold of anybody and if they dont call you back

We live in Sarasota and had Albert Johnson from Lakeland create and install a beautiful dual swing electric gate yesterday. The gate he made was awesome. He was polite, hard working, and a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend him.

I dont make reviews often but made and exception for this business. Albert installed a solar powered opener for us on our winter home near Tampa. He was very knowledgeable and friendly in answering our questions before we purchased. He arrived on time, finished the installation quickly and even called the next day to make sure everything was ok. I would surely recommend to anyone who is looking for an automatic gate opener. He has all the options to choose from and pricing is very fair.

Paid Albert Johnson to install automatic gate opener and exit wand on our gate. Never worked right from the get go. Mr. Johnson came out a couple times to try and service the gate and figure out what was wrong. I was charged each time he came out. He told us to buy bigger batteries for the solar operated opener which we did and still did not work. Mr. Johnson quit returning our calls and our gate has never worked and still does NOT work. We paid using credit card and check. We were able to get a portion of our money back from the credit card company as they reversed the charges since he never backed up any of his work. We did lose the money we paid by check. We will never use or recommend his services to anyone. He told us there was no warranty and he was not obligated to fix what he installed. Buyer beware!!

We just purchased a new property and the gate stopped working. We called Mr. Johnson and after talking to him for just a few minutes on the phone, I could tell his technical knowledge about gate openers was very good. We scheduled a date and time he would come out and when he arrived, he identified the issue within just a few minutes. The problem turned out to be the battery, which he replaced. He then performed maintenance on the gate and made some adjustments I asked him to make. What impressed me the most was the time he spent educating me on our gate opener. I would recommend Johnsons Gate Openers to everyone.

I was in need of a dual electric gate opener and install for my gate at my home. . After researching and comparative shopping with three electric gate companies and obtaining bids, I chose Albert Johnson/Johnson Gates. This company provided better equipment, longer warranty and at a more affordable price. I asked a lot of questions that he answered thoroughly and was told to contact him anytime if I had additional questions or issues with the opener.UPDATE: Initially I gave this company five stars. I have given this much thought, and now must change the rating to one star which signifies disappointment with the company. Reading other reviews, after initial install, there seems to be a pattern of not returning calls and poor customer service.It is sad when a company fails to see the bigger picture. When a company or person stands behind their product or work (the purpose of a warranty) beyond the initial install, I am pretty loyal to that company. I would have had this company continually service my gate opener after my one year free labor warranty and two year parts warranty expired. I would pay the $125 service call now required (I was told it was $75 initially); and used the company in the future for repairs and /or when needing a replacement gate opener.I paid $3672 for this gate opener and install with a one year labor and two year parts warranty and nine months later, I have a non functioning gate and no return call.FOLLOWUP:Will not return call and refuses to honor warranties on purchase invoice (1 yr labor and two year parts) or service call.Blamed bad transformer on power surge - light plugged into same outlet did not blow; and, at the least, should have kicked the GFI but did not. Replaced my batteries with supposedly new batteries from back of his truck. The new batteries beeping (dying) after he left my home to make me believe those batteries to be someonelses defective batteries. If they were new out of a box, surely they would be returnable to manufacturer and shouldn’t be an issue other than his setting adjustment.Initially called because green light on transformer was not lit and my batteries not being able to charge beeped continuously until Mr Johnson would finally come to my home. He replaced the transformer and - according to text from his wife - new batteries that I paid for, and made adjustments to the settings on my gate. After he left, I opened my gate, which opened extremely slow, and shut the gate but the gate reopens on its own. Let his office (wife) know two days after he had been to my home that the newly installed batteries are beeping and the settings to gate that he made two days prior are off. Wife told me I would have to pay a service call now of $125 settings he did two days prior and supposedly new batteries (2 days). Reputable companies honor service calls for 15 to 30 days for same issue. Not this company. Reached out to Mr. Johnson via text (will not call) and he said his service charge to me is now $145.Tried to handle this amicably but unsuccessful. Very disappointed.******UPDATE*******. As stated in a review by another one of this company’s customers (who was able to recover money pd on credit card) - BUYER BEWARE - I was never contacted by a Factory Representative nor has any representative inspected my gate opener. After so many untruthful statements/excuses, Better Business Bureau lowered this companies rating based on my complaint.
