Outstanding shop with great service. Like many, I’ve struggled to find a bike during the pandemic and was after a 56 Diverge. Steve at the Village Peddler went out of his way to help source the frame and components individually and created a build at a very competitive price. I’ll also add that the build quality was better than what I’ve received from Specialized factory builds in the past. The team obviously put a lot of care and attention into the work they do, and it shows. I’ll also say the service is second to none, I’m a really fussy customer and nothing was too much for Steve to deal with. I must have sent him a hundred emails and he continued to be patient and really helpful throughout. If you’re thinking of a custom build or serious mods/repair work, I wouldn’t have any doubts about trusting Steve and his team. I couldn’t recommend enough. I also love that they never once asked for a review, which made me feel even more compelled to write one. A great bike shop!
Bought a bike earlier in the year and over time and many miles, it developed a creaking noise and I took it in and a mechanic, Daniel, took a quick look at it and found and fixed it, a loose bottom bracket. Quick fix, no charge and I was on my way. Thanks. I would recomend.
Great service but bought a new bike a few month ago went to change tire from a flat and screw for derailleur was missing. Never hade parts of bike fall off till I came here
James is the service king diagnosing and solving annoying bike challenges
I had a crash with my bike and needed service. Village Peddler was super accommodating and fixed my issue in a few hours. Super grateful! They are super knowledgable, helpful and reasonably priced. Definitely making this my bike shop going forward now.
Love the Village Peddler. Great staff, good selection, and they have skilled mechanics. Ive taken many bikes to them over the years, and purchased a lot of quality gear.
So nice and helpful! I cant attest to what the inside of the shop looks like since we were helped outside during Covid, but we had a great experience trying some bikes and will be patronizing them again soon to make a purchase and use them for any service no doubt.
Ive purchased 3 bikes from Village and in my opinion this is the best shop around. There are plenty of options in Marin but this team is knowledgeable and they take great care of their customers. Austin and Danny are a couple the best mechanics Ive worked with. There have been several instances where they have talked me out service ($) that I thought I needed.
Austin, Danny and James were so great to work with. Listened to what i was looking for and steered me into a great bike. Talked me out of higher $ purchases to get me the right fit. 6 stars.
Great selection of bikes in the heart of mountain biking. Austin is awesome. Custom ordered me a bike on Monday and he had it assembled and ready on Wednesday. Cool dude, very knowledgeable and a great mechanic. I got a hardtail Specialized this time but I will be back for a full suspension Santa Cruz!
Steve and his crew are an invaluable resource for cyclist in Marin. I just purchased my 4th high-end road or mt. bike form them in the past 3 years. I take all my bikes to them for maintenance and repair, and they get them back to me in a timely manner.
Recently had my older Ibis Mojo gear train replaced with a new 1x11 with great results and a reasonable price. They worked hard to make sure that I got what I needed for the way that I ride. Austin and Danny are great mechanics. They also flushed my brakes and changed out my bottom bracket. The weekend high school staff were also friendly, informative, and had good knowledge of the local trails. I wouldnt hesitate to get my bikes worked on at the Village Peddler again.
When I got serious again about cycling I went shopping for a bike shop. I knew what bike I wanted, for me it was about the quality of the shop and VP stood above the rest and 2 years later I would absolutely buy from them again - and have twice! Theyve taken great care of me and the pounding Ive put into my bikes.
Steve and his team have taken care of my old bikes, guided me to the perfect new bike and have helped me along the way with plenty of invaluable tips and advice.
This LBS rocks. Great customer service for a high end bike shop. Very knowledgeable staff sans attitude. There are many choices in the area and I keep coming back for parts and service because of stocked items, service and CS.Thanks VP!
I really liked their services. I had a flat tire and needed a new tire due to the burst of the inner tube.
Very helpful folks.
Just bought a bike through them and super excited. Austin was a huge help on the floor and was able to help me pick out my dream bike. I highly recommended anyone who is looking for knowledgable staff, huge selection and great service to check out the Village Pedddler!
Another bike purchase and another great experience. Steve and staff are second to none!
My fave bike shop in Marin super fast, down to earth and friendly
Updated and upgraded my review to 4 stars from 2 stars after I took the bike back and they replaced the defective tire for free with minimal hassle. ... Heres the original review .... Been a long time customer of the Village Peddler and by and large have found them to be very competent and professional but Im burning over an issue. Took my bike in with worn rear tire. They replaced it and after a few months of light riding it developed a bulge. Paid for new tire again. After a few more months of light riding the new tire developed a bulge. Called the owner and he said I needed to bring the bike in again and if he determined the tire was defective he would try to resolve the issue with the manufacturer ... suggesting I might need to wait and bring it in again ... meaning 4 trips to the shop just to get a working tire. Most shops would simply stand behind what the sold and attempt to reduce the inconvenience to the customer. Ive had it ... not the first time the owner was pigheaded with me.
Caveat emptor. Words, typically reserved for used cars, were uttered by Steve in response to my disappointment in his inability to service a new bike.
